im about to flash china rom miui 12 but i have a few questions.
1. After you install playstore can you uninstall the default apps store without any errors or bootloops?
2. what are the bloating apps that can we safely remove in china rom?
Im also gonna install china rom at my global device as im not interested at google services
My advice to you is to make sure that your bootloader is unlocked... otherwise you would brick your device..
yes thats correct. reason why android must unlocked before doing anything to your device. if you soft bricked your device you can always recover it via flashboot or recovery.
what i only need is the MIUI 12. if i have the google play store i will uninstall all the apps from china since i dont need it.
i have flashed china miui 12 rom on redmi 9 lancelot and also install playstore, downloaded all my apps from play store and remove around 9 to 10 china apps that can be uninstall from apps easily. only baidu map is there nothing else. rom is too good and working perfect on redmi 9 global variant
thats great!
how about the appstore/market apps for china?
did you uninstall it withoud having bootloops?

How about Ram consumption? Any better than miui 11?
just flashed miui 12 china rom using mi flash tool.
so far so good!
note: unlocked bootloader
after flashing do not remove mi home.
you can uninstall all apps via manager.
1. unlocked bootloader.
2. download mi flash tool.
3. download fastboot china rom.
4. install drivers from mi flash tool.
5. unzip fastboot rom.
6. fastboot your phone and connect to PC.
7. select rom folder.
8. refresh mi flash tool.
9. now you could see your device.
10. click the clean all if you dont want to lock again the bootloader.
11. click flash
note: just ignore the error from mi flash tool and wait to see the logo of miui12. do not pull out thr chord or turn off the phone.
upon checking this rom. theres a huge difference between miui 11 and 12.
faster connectivity. superb smooth transition.
do not remove in china rom:
getapps
find device
security
it will cause bootloops.
also the mi home this will cause of launcher crashed.

i did not remove:

NOTE:
install playstore first before doing anything.
gkeyboard as you would like to uninstall china keyboard.

you need substitute before uninstalling some apps.
i found this list

hope it helps you
additional uninstalled:
sms extra
newhome
smarthome
all huaqin
logger
all print related.
mi home disappeared without any issues. i felt faster bootup, transition and loading.
i tried to remove getapps again and restarted the phone. at first i didnt encounter any bootloops or problem but after i turned off the phone and fully charged, it caused me forever bootloops and it ended up wiping all the data and debloated again.
now my miui 12 china rom is almost perfect.
the next thing i want to uninstall is the multiple user, special features and the getapps. if anyone knows how to remove these apps please reply.
after all of this i preferred to flash it back to miui v11.0.8

I rooted with magisk 20, solid explorer had a root popup and was granted but xposed never got the popup so was auto refused, is it normal for some apps to just not get root?
I updated to magisk canary and xposed then got the popup and root was granted BUT I'd rather not use a canary/beta build of anything so ideally would like to use magisk 20 stable.
Xposed modules are working APART from exi for swiftkey, has anyone got this working or does it just not work on miui 11?
Xposed mods that work on miui? I've used gravitybox since the day it was released but I have a feeling it breaks miui?
I'm quite happy to use miui 11 stable (android 9) so is there really a need to flash miui 11 beta (android 10)? What are the benefits, if any as like I say, I'd rather not use betas.
I only got to unlock yesterday so flashed a stable miui 11 build because it has options to turn individual sims off, this is basically my 'must have' feature in a rom. I know lineage has it but lineage is a bit plain and boring to be honest, is there a good custom rom (android 9 or 10, not bothered) that has the separate sim option?
I ran an ADB script I have to 'delete' a load of stock apps and rubbish I dont need or want, I know they arent really deleted but now I'm rooted I can completely delete them with SDmaid or similar, phone runs fine as it is with them deleted as it is, but would ACTUALLY removing them from the phone be any different? Could things suddenly go wrong because they arent there? Even though they are frozen now or whatever they are.
Boot animation? Is it just a delete and replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip?
Mii cloud and associated stuff? I dont use need or want any of it, all miui apps are gone except this which I only kept on until I unlocked the bootloader which I now have. Can I delete/remove it all? I dont want themes or cloud or security or any of their stuff on there at all but am fine keeping it on if the phone will go wrong without it.
Thanks for any/all/some help
EDIT> got exi working, needed edexposed sandhook and I was using the other one.
Magisk v20.1 not worked for me too, had to revert to v19.3. I have Mi 8, MIUI 11 Android 9, xiaomi.eu. With MIUI 10 Magisk v20.1 worked just fine. Some security changes... Notice that to lock the screen (user app) now we have permission, no root needed as before.

I tried miui 11 (android 10) and although I can't remember all the issues I had, there were on screen alerts for things that android 9 didn't have, so I went back to miui 11 (android 9).
I remember the lack of location options, just ON or OFF was annoying, the playstore took ages for an app to even start downloading, the video lockscreen was hit and miss even if it worked at all... And more little things that collectively annoyed me enough to drop back to 9.
I'm currently on lineage but even now I've a problem, I can't turn encryption off (I never turned it on) so everytime I boot to twrp it's asking me for a decryption password that I've never set up, so God knows what that is. I have to press cancel and then I can't use the storage, flash anything OR NAND back up
Never touched the encryption so can't help you, sorry.

Had this issue back when I had a Motorola X4 and Lineage OS 16. What you need to do is remove the password/pattern/pin from the OS (fingerprint, face unlock also ... what you have) than it will work.

BTW you can't Backup (to Google) unless the lock is removed again. You can re-add it once you are done.
I found a guide to debloat the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T with a simple ABD tool.
These steps were pretty easy and worked good for me. There is also a Google apps debloater but I didn't test that one as I still use my Google apps a lot.
Steps:
Activate developer options
Enable USB debugging
Run tool
Done.

I'm waiting for bootloader unlock. Is it safe to debloat without resetting whole process? If not what apps should I keep? I plan on doing both Xiaomi and Google debloat
The tool reports that the uninstall was a success but the apps are still there and fully functional, even after a reboot.
I can however disable apps successfully.

I think I've debloated my Redmi Note 8T too much. :silly:
Now when I swipe up I get "Application not installed" with a blank screen.
Any suggestion?

I just debloated Xiaomi and Google and it did not reset the bootloader unlock time.
So everything is fine to debloat!
I was debloating My K20 Pro with MIUI 12 and went overboard and deleted the themes app. Now I can't change lock screen wallpapers. I tried multiple apps from play store. Other apps can't do it as well.
Things I have tried so far :-
- Installing the Themes APK directly but it doesn't install.
- Flashing Recovery Stock Rom via updater method but doesn't bring back any apps I removed previously.
I can't unlock bootloader as I already did that a few days ago and then locked it again, when I tried unlocking today I found out I can only unlock once in 30 days.
Kindly help!
Wait for 30 days, then clean flash.
Dirty flashing full rom may work as well.

My Redmi 9 is the chinese varient. Yesterday I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the Indian Global Rom via fastboot and rooted using magisk boot patch method.. But my PUBG lite keeps kicking me out of the game after sometimes. It keeps crashing. I have to reopen the game. In the chinese ROM this didn't happen. Everything ran smoothely. Wondering if it's because of magisk or ROM.
Did you restore backup from your chinese rom ?
If you did this . you will face crashing apps problem so don't use any backup unless that you did from your indian rom.
restore your stuff by another method ( backup apps ) or download it manually.

I reinstalled everything from play store. Setup the device as new.
Turns out it was magisk causing the problem. After uninstalling magisk everything works good.

Yes it is. Glad that you got your problem fixed ?
I never heard about this problem on my Xiaomi experience only when I had restore miui global backup to Xiaomi.Eu. Then I got carshing thing.
so maybe because there is not offical kernel code to deal with magisk perfectly.
Good luck

I never had this problem before either. I guess magisk didn't install properly that's why crashing was happening.
Hi everyone I wanted to ask how do I reinstall the always display and the themes app on my 11t pro with MIUI14? I installed the miui 14 but I restored an old backup of themes and aod, now the aod creates some small problems for me, so I would like to reflash the miui 14 AOD and themes app.

Always display is in the Ambient Display and Lock Screen settings.
You cannot downgrade apps.

Sometimes restoring themes is a problem and/or incompatible.
Try downloading them from the current rom.

Still not understood what exactly was the problem with the AOD and for Temi App I don't know what it is.
And if your phone is rooted, you may have problems in some cases.
I had to format my 11t pro and flashed the miui 14, after doing so, I restored an old backup of launcher themes and settings. The problem is that when I unlock my phone sometimes the unlock screen image gets stuck on the home screen. This happens when the AOD is active. Also in the Dell AOD settings it doesn't let me create a custom AOD

Reinstalled the rom using first install.bat (will erase your data) and did not restore anything.
Try re-downloading the themes you had.

You can't reinstall system apps, try a factory reset but that's the same as reinstalling the rom.
