Question How to downgrade EMUI 11 to 10????? - Huawei Mate X2

Has anyone managed to downgrade from 11 to 10 yet? I've been through the youtube / google etc and can only find methods for the P40 / Mate etc. ictfix.net has a method but the firmware options are only showing as EMUI11 in firmfinder.
Any ideas???

If you have the Chinese Version, you don´t need this kind of downgrade.
There are a lot of Videos on Youtube for installing GMS

EDIT: Sorry, I did not read properly. I now realize you need hints for Mate X2, not for P40. So this my be not relevant for you. I leave the post anyway, maybe it's useful for someone.
--------------------------------------------
I downgraded a
P40, Device Model: ANA-N29, Device Region: C432 - hw-eu
from Emui 11 to Firmware 10 successfully.
I followed this guide:
Complete Guide V2.0
Modifying HiSuite and manipulating it's connection data to install Roms before they officially get released. - ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy
github.com
However, in contrast to this guide do not use HiSuite 11.xxx, but use Hisuite 10.xxxx. I used Hisuite_10.1.0.550_OVE succesfully. Reason: The older Firmware is not compatible with the newer HiSuite. You can still use the current HiSuiteProxy, however. I used HiSuite Proxy V3.0.2.
Hint 1: In the guide above in steps 4 and 5 you are advised to select the ROM you want to flash. Execute these tow steps for all 3 ROMS (Base, CUST, PRELOAD) you want to flash. They should match to each other. I used:
ANA-LGRP4-OVS 10.1.0.131
ANA-N29-CUST 10.1.0.6(C432)
ANA-N29-PRELOAD 10.1.0.1(C432R4)
Hint 2: The Guide above ends somewhat in the middle. After you start the update in HiSuite, wait for it to finish. The phone will restart several times automatically. After that it will complain about “Data Partition corupted…”. Have no fear, this is normal. Simply select low level format on the phone and let it do its work. Then it restarts, and that's it. My guess is that the structure of data partition has somehow changed between the older and the current EMUI.
Hint 3: After I had installed Google, I upgraded the phone back to EMUI simply by allowing the phone to download and install upgrades OTA. this took several intermediate upgrade steps. But finally I am now back to EMUI 11.
hope that helps.

Huawei EVA-L09 P9 No Update to Android 7 Nougat or EMUI 5 ? EMUI 4.1.1 "No Updates"
I just purchased a P9 and its still on Android 6 Marsh mellow.
The current version its on is EVA-L09C432B182 ?
I just got the phone off eBay with a cracked screen with the intention of refitting a new screen and using this phone. I have done a factory reset on the phone and the phone did two updates, one was 500mb and the other around 1.8GB...
The phone is unlocked as my ID sim card works on it. Is there anything I can check to help the phone do the update to version 7 ? Do I need to sign into Google ?
Sorry I'm new to the Android platform. Thanks, Ken.
Found this info thanks to: TheRealMoses...
Finally found a method that worked! EVA-L09c432b182 -> 360
Hey guys/girls,
I have a Huawei P9 Eva-L09c432b182. Spent hours trying different methods on updating to Nougat to have the following method work.
1. Download Firmware Finder from the Android Google Play Store.
2. Set up WiFi connection with proxy (as per Firmware Finder instructions)
3. Selected the EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496
4. Went to "Update" in the settings,
5. Pressed back after new update package had been found and selected Download Latest Full Package.
6. Download completed, installed and optimized.
7. New Version = Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0 EVA-L09C432B378 - haven't found anything wrong / broken but will update if I find anything.
Hope this can help someone.
I then used this video to help understand the process but I am not allowed to post a video link, but the video title is "Firmware Finder tutorial (Huawei firmware update)" posted under the YouTube channel "Huawei Device" (Published on Feb 6, 2018)
Phone is now downloading EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496 at 2.27GB will report back the results of this. I'm in the UK and I suspect the phone although unlocked sold from EE/Three network store who are not allowing phones to update !
Update to Android 7 was a success very happy but still its annoying that these phones get stuck on older versions...

Please help me restore my P9

Hi all
I picked up a second hand Huawei P9, (EVA-L19) my intention was to unlock the bootloader & flash a custom version of Android 9 or 10 on it.
I unlocked the bootloader via the DC method, and loaded TWRP, and wiped the previous firmware...
Only during the process, I realised I needed to update the phone to the latest stock version of Nougat first, and then upgrade it to Oreo, and then load the custom firmware... I have struggled to find stock software that works. I have used TWRP, the multi tool, and other programs such as firmware extractor, the HUR updater and I just cannot find anything 100% working. On top of that, there seems to be a problem with the battery, not sure if it is firmware related, or I need to get a new battery. The phone stays on for 2 minutes before the battery dies.
I have managed with the HUR updater & huawei-firmware.com to get a version of Nougat installed, it seems to boot, but the keyboard doesn't work, and any attempt to reset it gives me the explanation mark in the recovery menu.
The phone is a South African version of the L19.
My intention would be to get the phone back to working version of stock, then follow the correct proceedures, and update to Oreo, and then custom again. If the battery still gives issues, I will replace it.
Please help, running out of patience.
Thanks

Stuck on EMUI 10.0 on Huawei P30 Pro after 1 year

So I had the phone for almost 2 years, and I realise that I haven't received updates since March 2020. I know that EMUI 11 is out, but I have not gotten an update after EMUI 10.0. I tried using the HiCare method, the HiSuite PC method, but nothing works. I'm currently located in the United States, I don't think it has to do where I am, because I know someone who has EMUI 10.1 or EMUI 11 on their device. What should I do to update the device? I also found out the region code is C636, which is Asia Pacific.
There's a thread on flashing firmware on locked boot loaders. That may be of help.

I would do it, but I think it's too risky.
Been there, done that. Don't worry, I can help for you not to kill the phone like I did on my first attempt .
The dload method works fine. Although, you will need to get the rom for our region from here (this is the latest 10.1 version, you can verify it here) . I recommend going with the OTG adapter + USB memory stick method (it will wipe the data so don't forget to make a backup before proceeding).
I just want to clarify that I haven't been able to upgrade from 10.1 to 11 with any of the methods you have mentioned, not even with HISuite Proxy (there's no dload FW support for EMUI 11). Since I'm a Mac user I had to go with a virtual machine so that could have been the problem though (I read other users have successfully upgraded to 11 once they were on 10.1).
The main reason for me to update the phone was fixing the wireless charging. I've bought a Huawei wireless charger and I'm having this issue (spoilers alert: it doesn't seem to be a software issue so no, still not working).
The process is relatively safe as long as you flash the right firmware. On my first attempt I flashed the firmware from a different region. The phone worked normally except for the device certification (no Netflix, Google Pay, banking apps and so on).
Good luck and just let me know if you have any questions.
Did you succeed to upgrade your device to emui 11? Please share your method if you did
Try to update via Hi Care (it used to be to force an update to Emui 11 before the update came out in the normal "updater")
In HiCare app -> select Your device -> Quic Services -> Update -> click Check for updates

If you're still facing the same error, post what version your phone on and what base, cust and preload versions you used.
Also what hisuite version you used to rollback and did you choose os type as Rollback Os in hisuite prixy?

Huawei P9 attempted upgrade "the update package does not exist"

Hi all,
How are you?
I have spent soooo many hours trying to upgrade my new old stock Huawei P9 EVA-L09, its driving me absolutely crazy. When I bought it, like an idiot, I didn't check the Android Version, which I discovered was 6. So, I did oodles of research, gathered the right tools, downloaded the suggested updates and started.
I successfully upgraded to the latest android 6 (L09C432B210), but I tried many versions of Android 7, but to no avail. I eventually found a version of Android 7 called 'L09C432B322' that worked, but when I checked it says 'NRD90M test-keys', which is EMUI 5, Android 7; it is a fully functioning version of Android 7 but it is a pre-release version I believe, and neither the 'Files' option nor the 'Update' option are available on it, which is a pain. I have now tried a total of 23 different update versions, but no success, and with exactly the same issue with the update process, saying that it cannot update using that version (not precise wording!).
A couple of days ago I accidentally ended up on the phone update screen, the one with the big circle, while I was trying to get in to TWRP (fat fingers...). It sat there for an age doing absolutely nothing (aside from the circle spinning), not even failing, and I didnt even have an update file in 'dload' on my SD Card (not that I'm aware of), so I pressed the power button and shut it off. Now when I try to update, using either update.app via manual update or update.zip via HWOYA7, any update at all tbh, even old ones that I know failed but at least the update file was seen by the phone & process, it tells me the install failed and 'the update package does not exist'. I thought it may be a file extension association issue in Windows 10 (not sure how, just clutching at straws), so I reset the associations to Windows default, but that did not work. At around about the same time of the update issue starting, I couldn't say for sure when as I wasn't paying enough attention, I started using the HWOTA7 tool, which too gave the same result of 'the update package does not exist'.
Did HWOTA7 cause this? Did I cause this inadvertantly? Has a broken update.app caused this? I simply do not know and am hoping one of you fine people may be able to help me. Is the process looking in a different place to where either HWOTA7 puts the file (not changed from default) or where I put the file (SD Card 'dload')?
The reason I'm trying to update is because Android 7 is no longer supported by Google and one by one apps are disappearing from Google Play, so I'd like to update to Android 8 (Oreo). There lays another fine issue as I cannot find a version of it anywhere, not since Huawei removed the updates from its site a couple of years back. Not that any update will work of course...
I've never known a phone to be so difficult to get the correct software for and to ultimately upgrade. I even managed to update an LG G5 around 2 years ago when there were no official updates, but this Huawei P9 is just silly...
I think the update process should be this, update to the latest possible Android 6 then 7 for the P9, rebrand to the AL10 and, update to the chinese Oreo and then overlay the Kirin fix (I think); is that correct?
Thanks folks.
Paul.
Hey @vorlockfoss can you send me the B322 that you have found in order to update from B210 Marshmallow to Nougat?
Huawei's firmware servers were taken down only last quarter of 2020 so october/november/december 2020 around those months.
Hi W00fer,
How are you?
B322 is the version I downgraded from, back to C900B300. If you have B210 then you'll need B386;
HWOTA.zip | by Tecalote for P9
there are instructions in the folder. It includes the full firmware for EVA-L09 C432 B386 - for update from Android 6 to Android 7. For example from b182 or b210 to b386.
androidfilehost.com
I've responded more completely to your other message, so if you need further advice it may be better to reply there and I'll do what I can to help. I will update this thread after we've finished, just to keep it tidy.
Thanks,
Paul.
