Hi Guys
Any way to make the Mi11 to sound better?
If you are rooted try James DSP with it's IRS files, it makes the speakers live again.
Not rooted

The Stereo speakers are lacking bass

Dolby is an inferior music encoding algorithm.
Ok for movies and games, most times.
I use Poweramp and wav/HDCD files.
Poweramp has one of the best or best graphic equalizer for Android.
When listening to music Dolby is always kept disabled... feel the wuv.
On a high end system I use it only for Dolby encoded movies.

Yeah, i thought it will be better because of Harman Kardon. I was using Iphone 12 before this device and must say that Iphone is on another level in terms of sound.

Same here. I like SRS better than others effects. I'm using Westone UM2.
I use srs, beats sounds a bit tinny to me
If You are using HTC Innovation headphones, then SRS wil be the best one fitting you.
If you are using HTC headphones, you gave rocks in your head.
Sorry, but they are really bad IMO.
Take it from a sound engineer: beats audio is nothing but marketing. The actual sound quality you get is no better than a standard consumer product. In fact, it may well be worse, since they crank up the bass response for no real reason.
In certain cases, the sound hardware must put into considerations as well. Such as headphones accessories.

thanks for your professional meaning. how do you rate the other settings like SRS, dolby mobile etc?
Beats practically made no difference on my phone. What does is, DSP manager. But you need your phone to be rooted for that. And trust me, You need to hear it to believe it!
Makes your sound, specially beats, better than any ipod ever made.
I think so. SRS is wider and louder than Beat.
Or maybe I need Beat earphone to run with it
I thought all these sound enhancement things were in the kernel
and that sense roms are based off HTC kernels with SRS
so therefore AOSP roms dont have SRS
Therefore none have beats or dolby
Please correct me if im wrong
All this has come from surfing around other forums, with kernels that say they have beats integration and rezound sound drivers etc.
Personally I don't like srs, beats audio seems to me that doesnt' change anything...
I think that beats driver does something only in phones that have a native hardware support...
BTW, I'm using ue-600..
there is a way to install the Beats Audio, which I RockoDev for all roms in Incredible Gingerbread S, and probe some zip but remain on bootloop to initiate or otherwise do not allow me to use the native player I get FC

How is the speaker audio-quality compared to something like HTC One devices?
Is the DAC & AMP somewhere near the quality of the HTC 10, LG V20 or Axon 7?
Regards Forsaked
I can only compare to the iPhone 6S.
The speaker of the P10 is a bit louder, but on the loudest setting it sounds a bit distorted or overdriven. When I set 2 steps down it sounds like the iPhone 6S in direct comparison. The loudest setting is good for ringtones and they sound really well, if you don't have songs like metal or trance as ringtone.
With headphones (Beyerdynamics DT-770) and some FLAC files I couldn't hear any differences.
Pocketnow made an audio review for the P10.
https://youtu.be/jBzEmOhfcSU
The loudness of headphone output is 1/3 of iphone 7, 40% quieter than Galaxy S7. Not very loud. Both Phonearena and GSMarena confirm this.
I can confirm that the sound in P10 is very nice in Bowers and Wilkins P5 jack.
If you run flacs and Hi-Res Audio its very nice. Blutooth in AAC is also nice.
The Sound in P10 is designed by Hardan Kardon and the DAC is made of Yamaha Commercial Audio
It is well enough loud, if you use the Huawei music app you must run DTS.
Its pros is rock, blues, vokal, acoustic, jazz, funk etc... The sound is egaging, dynamic, detailed and lively better than iphone 4S, and other mobiles ive tried. The phones strongest audio card is something called SEPARATION, between instruments, that is simply outstanding. You hear details of what drum it is, clear vokal, and all the instruments is well placed in a room.
Classical sounds nice, but is not its strongest card, it could have more clarity and focused details..
If your are a Beats head, that damage your ears with hiphop, Skrillex and tekno at high volume, maybe your not satisfyed.
I cranked House of Pain Jump around in Poweramp, and that sounded nice.
HTC 10 should on the papers have better audio sound tho.
But I want to know if the Huawei P10 is ready with drivers to connect a Dac via USB for example Dragonfly.
I ask this because alot of other people wants to know the same.
Works with ESS chipset in the B&O modular for the LG G5.
I prefer to disable DTS. Nice sound but the volume is a little lover than Htc
I just want to give my opinion on this:
I have both the Axon 7 and the P10 Plus and I must say that output is better in the P10 Plus, and I don't understand why.
I don't know what kind of sorcery does DTS mode, but it pumps the sound in a really nice way.
When you disable DTS, Axon 7 sounds better in HiFi res.
Probably is because there is no way to use the AKM DAC on the Axon 7 with a proper equalization, so even when the sound is good, it can't be used along the Dolby Atmos feature. Dolby Atmos only kicks in when using the speakers, or if you want to use it with headphones, it will automatically change to Snapdragon DAC. So far there is no way to use Atmos and the AKM dac together.
I'm using Sony XBA-H1 which I find pretty decent earbuds to test this.
:good:
Its Confirmed by Huawei that P10 use the latest Hi6403 soundchip (typical with Kirin960) that supports Hi-Rez
Its rumoured that Harman Kardon, and Yamaha Commercial Audio group has worked on the sound in P10
It's just to bad that the amplifier is to weak. It makes the volume lower than the competitors.

I don't know, but this P10 Plus sounds better than my Axon 7, and is supposed that Axon 7 is the best audio phone.
Activating DTS make everything more punchier and richier.
The Audio quality is great. But the low volume might be because of some EU regulations.

Problem is that we don't have a way to equalize the output using the high quality dog, because as long as we turn on Dolby Atmos, it changes to Qualcomm one.
Is a pity we don't have a stock or default equalizer besides Dolby Atmos, because is useless if we want the best quality out of the headphone jack.
I don't know if this trick or a simualy trick works

Is not only about the volume, but more of the equalization, and no trick can help with that.

Using stock music player with my Trinity Master IEM (2BA drivers, 1 dynamic) and it has the best sound output so far among my existing devices (xiaomi mi3, nexus 5, oppo f1s). The sound is crisp and full. With DTS, everything sounds louder but more artificial.
Hi All,
Did anyone use USB type C headphone with the 5T? I have just bought a pair of xiaomi ANC headphones and is really disappointed with the sound quality.
Are there any ways to improve the sound quality you might be aware of?
Thanks!

I use Spotify all the time also but to experience to true potential of your headphones, you must try Poweramp once ( you might get hooked as well) just for the sake of its unmatched Eq presets.
As for the arise, you can look up for the guides to install Viper4Android on XDA ( will take a simple search). You'll be needing root access (Magisk has some v4a modules as well) though.
Caution: stepping into the world of v4a is big step. No coming back from there.?

Just wondering what Poweramp and Arise does to improve the SQ of the above mentioned IEM. I own a Xiaomi Pro HD and found the bass and vocals to be lacking compared to Apple Earpods.

If you can experiment enough with Poweramp's (alpha build) Eq presets ( I prefer "speaker ( loud) with bass and treble variable according to the song I'm listening to), you can pretty much get satisfied with any earphones above $10 price tag. The cheapest iem I can find in my drawer from a whole bunch of earbuds is the KZ-ate which can easily outperform this Overpriced AKG earbuds.
Coming to the V4A, it takes some time to get it working on your smartphone if you're dealing with it for the first time but if you can get it running, you can expect a SQ bump of at least 5x of Poweramp's eq.
Judging by the quality of one of my own xiaomi's basic earbuds, I hope the pro HD ones won't be really bad.
Is it safe to assume USB C headphones will work on the OP5T regardless of OS/ROM? I don't want to purchase a pair only to find out they won't work with OmniROM.

Truer words have never been spoken. Once I experienced the awesomeness that is V4A I'll never again purchase a phone that cannot be rooted. I only wish I would have found out about it sooner:laugh:
If you are running magisk it takes no time at all to get it processing for YouTube, Pandora, etc., just install the module and reboot. If you are use Poweramp be sure to go-to settings>audio>advanced tweaks and uncheck direct volume control to get viper processing.
Hi,
I've downloaded some official Dolby Atmos trailers from the Dolby site. I used quality headphones to listen to it on my Galaxy S10, with Dolby Atmos turned on. It didn't sound surroundy at all. How do you get Dolby Atmos content to actually play like it should? Or is that impossible on a phone and is that Dolby Atmos label on a phone more of a "there's been some tweaking with the sound but it's definitely not real Dolby Atmos"?
Thanks!
Don't use headphones. The difference is huge.

How can you get that from Youtube anyway? Youtube is stereo isn't it?
I think that the Atmos software in the phone emulates it.
I tried the trailers and the difference between Atmos on and off is quite big. There are multiple options of Dolby atmos settings, I have it on Movies. Have you tried this as well?

toggle on and off Atmos and I get proper surround. I use the stock headphones. The sound isn't great in my opinion.

Edit: this is one of my favs
See that's impossible because Youtube only carries 2 channels. Dolby Atmos needs extra files for it to know what to do with the sound, that's impossible on Youtube. You need Dolby Atmos encoded files, like the trailers on the Dolby site. I don't hear a difference at all.

You are totally right about the YouTube and getting the actual video download from Dolby I found the audio was definitely better with Dolby enabled. However I agree with you that it isn't all that much better than an good eq setting could do.
