I am having realme 8 128-6 GB. The problem I am facing is that when I turn on my data connection, it starts on 4G but suddenly it shows EdGe Connection (2G) and then it turns off, that is the data prompt (the up and down sign associated with data connection). I have to manually turn the data connection on and off again to fix that. This problem doesn't occur with other phones having the same carrier's sim card. Does anyone have a solution for this?

My beloved N1 has recently started to develop this problem. It doesn't matter if it's on 2.3 or 4.04 ROM. After wifi connection is closed, the phone was unable to automatically switch to HSDPA data connection.
No amount of toggling 3G data or WiFi will fix this problem. I have to take the phone into airplane mode and out before I can start HSDPA data. While this problem only happens occasionally, the frequency has gradually climbed. Could this be hardware related?
try going into setting >> wireless & network >> mobile networks make sure your outside because that way it pick up the towers =) and if that doent work then try FULL WIPE & REINSTALL ROM if it continues then it might be a hardware issue then my friend your really in a pickle
Whether in sleep or awake mode the phone will lose the 2G data connection. Network signal is full strength. If I disable mobile data and enable, connection is restored. But after about 10-15 mins same issue happens.
I have tried all sorts of ROMs now. Huexxx, CICI, CM10, CM7...Seems like a hardware or network problem.
Customer service keeps saying to use the APN settings properly and are of no avail.
Any other ideas..??
Thanks.
Have you try using another sim card from another operator?
Hello,
I have the following issue on ARHD 4.6, Plus network Poland. After booting or rebooting the 4G is always active, speeds are OK. After some 10-15 minutes of not using data connection, the phone switches to 3G and stays that way, when using data it goes to "H" (switching the airplane mode on and off doesn't help). I'would normally blame such things on the network, but every time I reboot the phone goes back to 4G and untill I keep using the data transfer, stays on 4G without any issues. Anyone else with same symptoms? You think I should push my network to solve this or is this rather radio related?
Thanks
Michal
I'm coming from a Note 2 and I'm somewhat confused as to how this phone handles everything network related. On the note 2 whenever I would connect to wifi, my LTE symbol would disappear and show only a wifi signal, and I THINK the mobile data was switched off until the wifi connection dropped (I'm probably wrong). I also wasn't as concerned about battery drain with that phone since I had a 7600 mAh battery.
On this phone, regardless of if I'm connected to wifi or not, the cell data (empty "bars") logo always shows at the top. Now normally this wouldn't really bother me, except "cellular data" is using nearly 5x the battery that wifi is using. Are phone calls/SMS also tied to the same data stream/radio as the LTE? I'm on wifi for around 80% of the day. I didn't know if disabling cellular data would stop me from getting phone calls/sms. Again, I'm not sure with the note 2 if that was just a touchwiz feature or not, but I was wondering if there was some way to automatically disable LTE radio (if it isn't tied into calls) when I connect to wifi. Cell standby is my number one battery drain after the screen.
Cellular data is off when on WiFi. The only time you'd see it on is when a MMS is coming through.
Cell standby is just your radio connected to the tower.
Hi, I have an S21 Ultra 5G, (SM-G998B)and I have problem about 1 month ago. When I am connected to a wifi network, icons 4g is turn on and mobile data stop work. Only way to turn on mobile data is restart phone. What is the problem? I try everething and hard reset but problem not solved. This happens almost every day once or twice
Not sure I understand....the phone will NOT use mobile data when on Wi-Fi. You can force it by going in developer mode and boost speed by using both, that is not the default though. ("Mobile data always active")
"Mobile data always active" is turn off but 4g icons is active in same time as wifi network. After that I turn off wifi and mobile data not work but 4g icons still turn on.
I found out what the problem. Every time after sharing the mobile network via hotspot, when I go to Sim manager and turn off Sim 2, both icons appear and the mobile internet stops working.
1. Turn on sharing mobile data (from sim 1) via hotspot. (sim1 and sim 2 active)
2. Turn off sharing data via hotspot
3. Connect to any wifi (after connect to wifi, only wifi icons appear)
4. Go to sim manager and turn off sim2.
5. After that, both icons (wifi and mobile data) appear and mobile internet stops working.
Does this happen to others?
