Has anyone installed the PE rom yet? I tried yesterday, following the instructions, and just got a boot loop after flashing the PE recovery rom.
However, the instructions confused me a little...
Flash a recovery on your device by typing (replace <recovery_filename> with the actual filename!):
Click to collapse
fastboot flash boot <recovery_filename>.img

(My bold)
Should that be 'fastboot flash recovery' ??
Also, I'm not coming from stock but from a custom ROM (riceDroid). Would that make a difference?
Thanks for any (kind) comments

Hey, I ran into the same problem today. If I find a solution, I'll let you know. I would be glad if you share too.
I tried again yesterday to install Pixel Experience, and again it just boot loops when booting into recovery mode. I've now reinstalled stock Miui and will try again.

There no recovery partition so it shouldn't. I'm on this ROM currently and have no problems with installation. The guide says that you need to be on latest global a11 miui (12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM). You didn't miss that?

I've no idea what version of the bootloader I'm on as getprop ro.bootloader returns 'unknown'
But, as I'm on "latest" v13 Miui, I suspect the bootloader is the wrong one. Do I have to downdate to 12.5 before installing PE?
Edit: I've downdated the device to 12.5 RKLMIXM and have flased the PE recovery image, all okay. It's now installing the PE zip, so fingers crossed that's it.
Edit edit: I have PE on my device! Thank you at @xuser_0 for highlighting were I'd gone wrong.
The key @JohanGriman appears to be to ensure your device is not on the latest Miui but the latest 12.5 version.
Is there any instructions on how to install Magisk on this? I've tried to usual ways (via apk and flashing .zip thru adb sideload) but it fails to repack the boot image. Will a manual patch of the boot image and reflash work?
Edit: I've been able to directly patch the PE recovery image (as used in the installation process) using the Magisk apk on my device. Can I now flash this patched image to the device?
I don't want to try it as other instructions I've found talk about a vbmeta image that needs to be flashed too, and I don't know if that's necesary.... and I don't want to trash my device again!
Just flash it but it will break safetynet. To fix safetynet enable Zygisk, add google play services to deny list and install shamiko.

The question speaks for itself,I cannot find really any accurate ways to get started because I once tried to install Oreo beta (before official was out) and flashed a Oreo recovery onto Nougat and bricked my phone, and the only way was to use DC Phoenix so for now I have kept my phone on EMUI 8 stock.
So if anyone can tell me the steps to install let's say an Android 8.1 Treble ROM or Android 9 when it gets good as a daily driver,I know that you need to do the following things:
-unlock the bootloader
-install a recovery
-flash a ROM through fastboot or through recovery and after that flash Gapps and a modded version of Magisk
That is pretty self explanatory, but I have seen like that you cannot use TWRP since there is a problem when wiping data and that you need to have Huawei stock recovery and some important things to consider since I see it is pretty easy to brick these phones if you don't follow instructions but since there isn't really clear instructions to do some of these things,I am asking here if anyone can explain to me.
And yes,I do have my bootloader unlock code since as I stated,I tried to do this before.

And if I have downloaded a zipped ROM instead of an GSI,I do the same steps but in TWRP I flash the ROM with the Gapps and Magisk, right?
Also, can I use NoCheckRecovery for Oreo when I need to wipe data instead of stock recovery since I think it would come in handy if I would need to re-flash something through that without Huawei checks and it seems to be easier to find?
And I flash the recoveries to recovery_ramdisk,just to be sure,I know some things did change with Oreo so I am asking?

Pie gsi
Hi all,
I have installed Pixel Experience (Oreo) gsi ROM no problem. But if I try to flash any Pie gsi ROM it just goes into a boot loop. I flash system via fastboot and seems OK. Reboot and it just boot loops a few times and goes to the recovery screen that prompts to download and install the standard system.
Has anybody come across this or have any suggestions. I have tried a few different Pie gsi ROMs and same thing happens.
Thanks
Mick
Hi, You & I waiting for realme UI for our Device but we need to wait April 2020. But now we can't wait long time for testing Realme UI so guys I get this ROM from a Telegram Group I am just sharing the Rom and Installation Steps.
RealmeUI for Realme X2 (1991-CN)
Beta 3 (CO-09)
.
Download link: Here
.
Intruction:
1. Flash CO9 rom from twrp.
2. Wipe Data.
3. Flash Magisk (optional)
4. TWRP Advance > Disable force encrypt >swipe (optional)
5. Reboot.
.
Changelog:
3rd party apk installation fixed.
Overall system perfomance improvement
.
Bugs: Fingerprint will not work if you flash magisk or vbmeta.
.
Note: This one maybe the last beta, and it will be published as official realmeui for CN(1991) soon..
Bugs: Fingerprint will not work if you Root.
Do it at your won Risk
In this update will you be able to switch on to another launcher or you'll still be stuck with the default launcher of realme is?

You can Change The Launcher
I succeeded with installing realmeUI/Android 10 without wiping/losing data. It seems that the Greeting Wizard has problems with the Dark Mode so probably will be easier to pass it while on regular white theme. I did not see most buttons, options, languages, etc. Ended up with Malay language But successfully switched back to the one I need.
There are some sweet enhancements, for example with gestures and double-tap-to-sleep. First impressions are positive.
EDIT. Fingerprint sensors stops working as soon as you disable verify boot by fastboot flash --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img, so it is not directly connected to root access.
The only bug so far besides that is slow GPS fix (much slower than on A.14).

Hi folks,
this is not difficult to modify this beta ROM having FP working. There is no system partition check so it is safe to flash TWRP, immediately boot into it, mount it in RW mode and make any modifications needed. For example, after performing these mentioned steps make from your Linux machine
Code:
for i in FindMyPhone KeKeMarket KeKeThemeStore HeyTapSpeechAssist HeyTapSpeechService GlobalSearch CloudService Browser HeyTapUserCenter; do adb shell rm -rf /system/priv-app/$i; done
for i in SystemAppUpdateService GameSpace SoterService RomUpdate OppoCriticalLogService OppoLogKit_Beta ChildrenSpace BaiduInput Feedback KeKePay Shelper; do adb shell rm -rf /system/app/$i; done
Note. Of course, you need flash back stock boot and vbmeta to have you FP working again.
It also means we can root this ROM with old, system-way, using SuperSu and alike.

Use the stock recovery with adb shell enabled.
Or flash the stock boot.img, enable adb debugging and flash the Magisk patched boot.img.
If adb debugging is enabled skip the upper part, use a PC and enter:
Code:
adb wait-for-device shell magisk --remove-modules
Done.

Decryption isnt working in any TWRP right now. The official TWRP when will be out( I dont know when) it will have decryption. But in this TWRP i am focusing to the way of installing a stock OOS.You can just simply boot the twrp and not flash it. After flashing the stock OOS you can use the stock recovery that will be encrypted and you will not have any problem. Now we have these solutions or the harder solutions like flashing with adb commands etc.

For updating the ROM I took the boot image before installing, patched it with Magisk, copied it back to the images installation folder and let the update script do its magic - thus I got instant-root for the update...

I flashed it separately on the second attempt for 12.5.3. The first time I tried flashing the patched boot.img I was greeted with an error.
Hi! I have the latest xiaomi eu weekly installed (21.6.23) as well as unofficial twrp.
I would like to root the phone with magisk, but I don't understand a few things.
Magisk manager require patching the boot.img file from the zip firmware.
I can not just simply install magisk zip file in twrp to root mi11 ultra?
If not, I understand that I have to patch the boot.img- but do I have to do it every time I want to install update of the latest xiaomi.eu firmware?
The second question is about data.
Am I loosing the data by rooting the device by this method?
EDIT:
Ok, I managed. So those are the steps that I did:
I unpacked the boot.img from the xiaomi.eu firmware in my phone. Then I patched the file, and copy this file to the adb installation folder of my pc.
Later it's easy- usb debugging needs to be active in developer options, then connect your phone by the cable to your pc, accept usb debugging in your phone, start CMD in the adb folder in your pc and write the command:
fastboot flash boot_ab nameofthefilewhatmagiskgenerated.img
then
fastboot reboot
And done, root works. Data are untouched.
I did it easier, boot into twrp and flash magisk.zip done
Also I'm on official EEA firmware, with original stock recovery, so doesn't matter what rom you use. On xiaomi EU you don't even need adb because you already have twrp injected
Is there anything to worry about when you update the phone while having root access?
Is the following order right?
1) update Rom over twrp and delete dalvik&cache
2)flash magisk.zip again
3)boot into system
Right ?
I have the latest EU Rom 12.5.7...
Just take this bat with decrypted Star twrp 3.5.1
unzip and klick Install-Star.bat
fastboot boot star.img are the commands in there

I was using pixel experience ROM for some time and I tried to update to the latest plus edition. The installation guide recommended full format data and flashing. I did as instructed. Now I'm stuck in booting into TWRP recovery. I looked up a few kinds of stuff and none of them worked. Is anyone else facing the same problem? has anyone got a working fix? I tried removing the TWRP folder, re-flashing TWRP with TWRP and orange fox recover, and then flashing ROM. non helped. got a broken phone now any help is appreciated.

AOSP roms can be under ANDROID 11 or 12 or 13.
PixelExperience
Android OS version: 11.0.0_r40
The first version is in A11 and since August in A12
Version: 12
File name: PixelExperience_raphael-12.1-20220820-1826-OFFICIAL.zip
I had A12 then. I flashed pixel experience 12.1 on May 28(PixelExperience_Plus_raphael-12.1-20220528-1605-OFFICIAL.zip) and it went thru just fine. Now the updates of 8/20 bricked the phone.
After format data, I get the Readonly info screen, I swipe to allow modification, side loads the latest download PixelExperience_Plus_raphael-12.1-20220820-1448-OFFICIAL.zip, and restart, but back to TWRP recovery.
Some things I tried
0. https://wiki.pixelexperience.org/devices/raphael/install/
1. https://www.getdroidtips.com/keep-booting-twrp-recovery/
2. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/pixelexperience-stuck-in-bootloop.4435533/ ( it's shown for beryllium but I did for Raphael code with all files related to Raphael version such has recovery and pixel exp. img file
Any other flow I can try to get it fixed ?
I'm thinking to reverting back to MIUI is nth works.

Wipe everything, system, vendor, internal storage, dalvik, cache via advanced wipe, then flash firmware and vendor or if your rom has included firmware then just flash the rom directly. Try to boot into OS if it still bring back to twrp then again repeat the above steps and this time flash stock vendor and firmware from mi website and try to boot into OS.

All the best
yes using the team win version of TWRP. Used Orange Fox recovery. ( nice look and feel and features btw). But they didn't work either. What could I try more? Could I be able to revert back to MIUI stock ROM ? let me know if you have good resources. Thank you very much for your time and efforts

Back to MIUI
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
flashed stock miui rom for now. Will tap into pixel rom in few days.
now that I think, I think I did a blunder, thinking I was in A12. Can you point me to A12 firmware for Redmi k 20 pro? I"m looking into https://miuirom.org/phones/xiaomi-12, but they seem to be recovery and not firmware. I'm not sure if recovery comes with firmware. As I need to format to install, will the firmware stay or not?

Why bothering to manually search here and there for official ROMs
Install the app:
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
and the app will show you links to download the latest Global, EEA, etc, zip/recovery or tgz/fastboot, or you can scroll through the older versions and pick an older if you wish
Btw, latest are MIUI 12.5, A11 - there are no official A12 ROMs for Mi 9/Redmi K20 line of models
Even if they receive MIUI 13, it will be (for some already released, but eg China only, etc) it will be A11
Same issue, I guess this is it for me. Time to buy a new phone rather than accidentally losing data from time to time with custom ROMs. I wonder if they didn't know such issue exists before releasing it to the public.
