So i decide to flash rom use external sdcard.
But my recovery mode is 3e so i cannot install CWM..
I found one method to replace the recovery file at XDA..
i try but wonder why when i boot in to recovery mode the recovery file will auto go back to the original file so i cannot install update.zip to install CWM..
Any one can help..i just want to flash back the old rom..
very thanks..
are you using an USB hub?
I noticed that my phone sometimes has trouble connecting fully functional when I don't plug in the USB cable directly in an USB port of my laptop. (only charging, no data transfer possible otherwise)
No...i am not using any usb hub...i direct connect to my usb...
So your phone is working well but u can't connect to PC or phone is dead !!!
If phone is ok then use 'SGS kernel flasher' or 'mobile odin' to flash new kernel (like semaphore kernel) to have CWM.
I cannot boot the device into Recovery mode. If I attempt to the device stays on the Samsung boot screen. Since I have gotten the device all I have done is rooted the device and it is running android version 2.2
When I put the device into download mode it is not recognised by my computer (tried using Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 build 9926) and Odin (v4.38) does not register that the device has been plugged in. In Device Manager I get Unknown USB Device (Device failed Enumeration). Re-installing drivers and the device does nothing to fix this.
Any assistance with this issue would be welcomed.
~Edit - The device is not booting at all now. It is stick on the Samsung Boot Screen.
~Edit - For some reason putting the device into Download Mode then plugging it into a my laptop and allowing Windows Update to find the drivers worked and allowed ODIN v4.38 to detect the device.
Then by following this guide I was able to flash CWM to my device. After doing this I was able to boot the device normally and I was able to boot it into the custom recovery.
The best way to boot to recovery in case you aren't able to.
The best way to boot to recovery in case you aren't able to is using ADB. Use the command adb reboot recovery and for sure you will either know what the exact problem is, or will be taken to recovery.
I don't know exactly why but my Mi A2 USB port stoped working only for data transfer it still charges.
I want to root, install TWRP then finally install a custom ROM. All the guides I've found require to plug my phone on a desktop through USB then run adb commands. Is there anyway I can root and install TWRP my Mi A2 without having to use USB?
Afaik, no. At the very least computer is required to unlock the bootloader.
Helllo can anybody help me root my phone and install twrp without pc, as i am unable to connect my phone to pc. I installed the phone drivers but still wont recognize.
Change your cable
Try linux
Hello,
I'm playing around with a S10e.
I had installed TWRP (3.5.2 or so), and I could enter into the recovery system with VolUp-Bixby-Power key combo. The phone didn't need to be connected to a PC (as written in many instructions).
Now I've installed the recovery system from Lineage 18.1, and there the USB connection seems to be required.
My question now: that does TWRP do to be able to boot into recovery without cable? I want to enable the recovery of Lineage to do the same.
best regards,
chris
