Hello,
depending on your monitors resolution it is not really suitable. I would go for better gpu and more ram

I would go for a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti if you want to have some fps also for future games
Yeah I agree, you can fo for the GTX 1660 TI or the super variation, and you can upgrade your motherboard maybe b550, or b450 if you still want to go for a budget build, then add 16gb of RAM, its up to you.
Good for old gen games but new gen need atleast Ryzen 2nd 3rd gen proccesor with good gpu to play in better performance

Yes, you should be able to run these games with the given specs sheet but you will have to run these games on Low Graphics Setting to get playable frame rates. For FIFA 22, you should be able to run the game on low to medium graphics settings with a decent frame rate. For GTA 5, you should be able to run the game on low to medium graphics settings with a decent frame rate as well.
However, all the extra graphic options like Shadows, Reflections, Crowd Details, Water Quality and Post-Processing Effects must be disabled to get decent FPS.

Should be able to run medium games (not AAA) at about 60fps @1440x900. Next time it would help if you'd would mention the games that would be played, some are cpu bound and some are gpu bound.
Edit: I'm an idiot, didn't see the games on top. Should run the games pretty well on medium-low settings

Hi,
i don't know if everybody knows, you can play PSX 1 games on the PockePC devices...
Diamond has a fast Processor VGA Screen so thats good conditions too play games... the bad ones are the missing buttons... but with FPSEce there is also a onscreen Controller so that should not be the problem...
Heres the offical Homepage:
http://www.fpsece.net/
i prefer to use the .96 Beta from Forum!!
heres a vid of running ff7 on a pocketpc:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OTulLVj3Ww
i'm totally impressed with the psx bt controller... i didn't saw/or know that such things exist... so you dont need hardware buttons
i have testet FF7 today too but i don't get it too run...
the Bios starts well.. FPS over 100... but after that noting happens...
i have tryed different img what i could found for download... my original ff7 cd is lost somewhere... so i can't try to rip it off by my self... maybe someone can try this... (Should be done with alcohol as i read somewhere because all other destroys the images to work with the emu...)
any news for this emulator?
COOL! could you add G-sensor support to this? say to press the center button and then use the g-sensor to detect motion and control the direction?
PS2 games me ay also possibly be playable on the diamond,
Remember the Diamond has a 528 MHz processor, while the PS2 has only 294MHz processor
specs at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2
sorry.. if u are saying the diamond is faster than a ps2.. its not.. the processor speed is simply not the same
for e.g.
1ghz on pentium and 1ghz on pentium 4 with HT.. which is faster? de latter rite...
plus ps2 has a well powered GPU.. diamond has a dedicated video chip but its not v powerful.. merely for touchflo 3D...
try installing pocket pc games like tony hawkk pro skater 2 which was also released on the ps1 and u know wad im toking about.. even with hardware acceleration the game isnt as smooth as playing on the ps1 itself..
actually
actually yes and no to a few people above me
the ps2 actually has 2 cpus a 299mhz cpu and a 150mhz co-processor
these would be the hardest to emulate the 299mhz cpu is actually the easy one the 150mhz cpu is a vector (floating point) cpu which arm cpus (like the diamonds) do very slowly however the graphics card is a 16 pipe 147mhz 4mb graphics card which belive it or not we have more power than (the diamond has a 333mhz 12 pipe gfx card with 16mb of faster ram) but the problem is that there is no driver for the card on the diamond for developers like me to use.
so the short story is yes it is doable even at 30fps if they could use the gfx card to emulate the co-processor but it would take a lot of development time and skills to do and some help from HTC to do it in a relistic time...
In my experience, you need a CPU with at least 10 times the clock speed of the chip you're trying to emulate, unfortunately. That's before you take dedicated graphics processors etc. into account. It will be a good while before we see PS2 games being run on phones.
i managed to get destruction derby working on my trinity at ~24 fps which slowed down to 13 fps when you touched the screen. i am sure the diamond could do better

yup, the infamous touchscreen cpuusage bug HTC hasn't been bothered fixing for 2.5 years...
I've tried the emulator with... Tekken 3 . Just 12-13 fps in portrait mode, so it works but not playable. If you try it in landscape mode, it doesn't work. And the onscreen pad is too small on Diamond screen.
It'd be nice if everyone posted
Games: | Options enabled/disabled | FPS
No need for compatibility, since it's available on the website.

So, Diamond still doesent have video drivers? It must have some. And only 16 MB RAM ? Co-procesor has 64 MB RAM, does he?
I've tried the emulator with FF7 but 27 fps in portrait mode
isnt 27fps a very good and playable speed? or is the problem because thats in portrait mode?
27 fps is very slow and not playable
27 is good speed, I played llots of games on my PC on 22 FPS.

Hahahaha lol. Thats funny.
so i would say 27fps is not awesome but it's defenitly more than enough for FF7.
a average cam used for TV captures about 25f/s
It has to be at least 21fps if you want to cheat the eye.
always posted in this forum...read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409990 i've made various test with FFIX
I could not get the fpsece run on my diamond. Although I have copied bios file in bios folder (I've already have a PS 1 so everything is legal) and try some game. But after trying to open .iso's diamond stucks for 15 seconds and nothing happens.... Any ideas?

Yes it is! Especially when you consider that its max Fps on the actual PS1 was 30Fps
hi
Ive been trying to play a range of oldish (cod2) to newish (cod4,5) and the fps in them are crap! Im wondering if thats due to the onboard Nvidia GeForce 7025 graphics, or the 2gb of ram for win7 + games.
thanks
btw my pc spec is my signature!
Because of the onboard gpu (atleast in new games)
and if I read correctly then your ram is 267mhz? - thats a bit to slow for todays games!!
If youre planing to upgrade then I suggest you get a decent Graphic Card (nvidia 9somethin ot maybe 200 series card -- If your psu supports it!! ) and if youre at low fps then then upgrade to a faster ram, 2gb is enough!!
I got a Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 OC'd from 2.4 to 3.5ghz ; 4gb of Kingston 800mhz ram and a Nvidia GF8800GTS 640mb gpu on a Asus Striker II Formula (got it for the guaranty cuz my Asus Striker burned)-- and mostly I can play all new games on MAX spec except, of course CRYSIS
Thats weird, they play fine on my Fuze... Maybe change ROMS?
HAHAHAHA
update
the ram is pc6400 at 1607mhz
btw my computer is 50 days old today! Everything is brand new as of the 26 july 2009
then its 100% onboard gpu fault!!!
get nvidia card with hybrid power so you can use your onboard gpu and your GPU when needed!!!
write your PSU specs and Ill write some gpu's which will work with hybrid power and your psu will support the wattage!!
the psu is a colours it! 550w. And i was thinking of getting an XFX GeForce 9600GT XXX AlphaDog Edition which it £80-£90. What du think?
what are the fps ?
because if vsync is on you will only get as many fps as hz your screen refresh with
with is anyway the max fps people can ever get visually
but there are alot! of myths about this stuff
but buttom line is your screen refresh with a sudden hz and that mean thats
the number of times a second it draws the screen so
even if turning vsync off mean it will report much more fps it don't mean that your screen is displaying those fps
i dont know how to check fps in cod4 du no?
And whats vsync?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_synchronization
basically that the backbuffer is not blittered to the frontbuffer before
the frontbuffer is don't being drawn on the screen
about cod4 sorry never played any of those games
My fps in cod4 is 3!
How do i get that up?

Get a new GPU!!!!
and the 9600GT will do !!! it will work on the 550 W psu!!!
I have a 8800GTS 640 (eats more electricity and its on a 480W )
have you tried to set everything on min specs in video options(ingame) ?
yes i have set everything minimum. But still no luck!
I have decided to get a zotac GF 9800GT
Will that work
I will have to wait until i get some money cause im only 13! Might get it for crimbo!

save up some!!! Im 15 years old (almost 16) I have Touch HD (100% mine , bought for my money) - worked for it !!
sounds almost like you're using a generic vga driver rather then the real driver for the video card even if it's an onboard gpu
Yeah but i have installed the correct nvidia vga drivers. It might be a good idea to reinstall.
thx
hi again
i reinstalled the drivers to the latest version and set all the settings on cod to low.
BTW what is SLi and can i use it on an N68-S ASRock board
thx
Please don't get the 9800, although it is a powerfull card, if you get Sapphire HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 HDMI DVI VGA PCI-E Graphics Card £83.40 its will destroy the 9800 in any game, as for SLI i really wouldnt bother unless your monitor is 1920x1080 and your not getting a high (50+ constant) FPS. Also the 4850 will have no issues with your motherboard or Power supply.
yep i have the 4850 and it beats the crap out of all others in that price range,,,although it's not sapphire....but powercolor works fine too
did anyone try this yet?
http://www.gameloft.com/android-games/modern-combat-2-black-pegasus/
its one of the best 3d games i ever played on android, my desire HD is running it blazing fast
however gameloft downgraded the graphics for the qualcomm version, it seems gameloft decided to give priority to the hummingbird devices
compared to the galaxy S version, it lacks reflections on the weapons, character shadows, a blur effect when hit by bullets and maybe more stuff
i don't understand why gameloft keep releasing the same version for both the old snapdragon and 2nd gen snapdragon devices
seeing how crazy fast the frame rate is running on the DHD, its obvious the adreno 205 can do much more

i have this game too its great, but gameloft have reasons for that, adreno cant shift half as many polygons as the powervr in the galaxy series, just look at ashpalt 5, even the DHD can only just run it with minimal slowdown, but the galaxy version looks amazing with reflections on the cars and more realistic tarmac, and powervr runs it with no hickups at all. i like my DHD though, if i wanted to play games that badly, id just fire up my xbox

i dont agree about asphalt 5 the dhd runs all gameloft games at very high frame rates, modern combat 2 is running at 60fps without a hiccup once
but i didnt know even asphalt is downgraded in terms of effects
my point is adreno 205 is quit capable and samsung figures about the power vr chipset are not accurate

its not just gameloft games, for example the galaxy s verson of NFS Shift looks amazing compared to the snapdragon version. it doesnt help that devs can't be arsed making better looking games for our version of adreno, they just make a snapdragon version. so ours our dumbed down so the desire and evo can play them
exactly my point, adreno was much improved with model 205, but i don't see gameloft bothering
by the way NFS can be hacked to play in high resolution
someone posted the hack a while ago in this forum, i tried it and it really works
maybe we can mix the galaxy S gameloft games with the snapdragon ones the same way

I saw that our phone has 512MB of RAM, but only 290MB is accessible. Can we Make it 512MB instead of just 290MB? Our phone is very slow
and what ram should the hardware use ?
and it cannot be done!

We can extend the amount if games we can play by using CHAINFIRE 3D from Google play (Phone needs to be rooted) visit "new aces" blog for a full list of games that are playable with Chainfire (Sims 3, Temple run, plants versus zombies as well as other well known games)
Just follow the settings on new aces blog and you'll soon be playing descent HD games

That and the CPU is ARM6 not ARM7.....
Chainfire can help but if you want to play the latest games get the latest handset :good:
The only prob is armv6.. thats it
Guys guys guys
where are we taking this
STOP !
The problem is in both CPU and GPU
cpu :-arm v6
gpu:-video core - 4
observe ,that some games like brothers in arms which work in original ace doesnt work in work in our ace -i .that is due to gpu .
ace has got another gpu which is better compared to our ace-i gpu
I have an xperia play and I love it but poor performance I have a few questions that if You guys answer me I'll be very happy cause I want to trade this phone for an 2x . So :
-Do games have 50+ fps in ICS ? (cause I have about 20-25-30 with xperia play )
-Any OC ability(cpu/gpu) ? And does it improve performance by lots?
-Is 512mb ram a big bottleneck ? Or does tegra2 do good anyway?
-Some links to good roms ? It's interesting to see features before getting the phone.
-How much free ram on ICS ?
-And finally what's the biggest antutu benchmark you guys got ?

Lol I was using a 2x previously and now I have changed to xperia play to play emu games.
1. Yes for games with low requirements(e.g. Tample Run 2) For latest big games they only have 20~30 fps on ICS. I am not sure which game you are talking about
2. 512mb is rlly a bottleneck for ICS. Although I only have solely Firefox running, if I open 3 tabs, 2x will be laggy. However, it can handle multiple apps with low ram requirement. 2x has the strongest tegra2. T2 is good in gpu but weak in video format support at its times.
3. Just give u the Rom list link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042267. I am from China and I had been using the roms from angeeks forum and thus I am not familiar with the XDA roms.
4.depend on roms. I was using this thin ICS rom (http://bbs.angeeks.com/thread-2687721-1-1.html)modified by a Chinese. Free ram is ard 90MB after starting up
5. my highest is 7035 when locked @ 1Ghz

If you are not a core android fans and not keen in getting a gaming phone, I would recommand touch 5+another phone. Touch 5 has great spec and ios has great compatibility for apps.(Even the "oblique" touch4 can run most games and apps today though a lot are laggy due to only 256 mbram...) It can outweigh all android phones in almost all games in similar price range.
Maybe you can also consider Nvidia Shield(299 US Dollars) in near future, it might be a fantastic gaming gadget.
For xperia play, I am using AuroraPlay(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124442&nocache=1)
