Hi everyone,
I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G with a broken screen, and I need to enable USB Debugging to access and backup my data. Unfortunately, I can't see anything on the screen, making it impossible to navigate the interface.
I have tried using a USB OTG adapter and USB mouse, but since the screen is unresponsive, I cannot interact with the phone. I am unable to access the settings or enable USB Debugging through regular means.
I'm seeking advice on alternative methods or solutions to enable USB Debugging on my Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G without relying on the screen. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to proceed.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
cndroid
you cant
Well, it's difficult, but not necessarily impossible.
Does screen mirroring over USB connector work?
Do you know if the touch screen still works?
Do you have an absolute position digitizer tablet?
Have you considered buying a screen? You wouldn't have to really install it, just hang it.
Can you flash a new boot image?

Then there is my own Swiper app, but that's complicated to use too.
As it was not on debug mode / developer mode, i can't take backup using cmd prompt/ adb mode. thinking to buy comptable LCD screen on ebay and fix it myself and take backup of phone. highstreet shops are asking £70, which is not worth for this phone.
Yes, but there is a difference between the cost of a replacement screen that you just wire off the back and an actual screen replacement.

Hello all,
so my brother threw down his phone. Now it has big crack on the back and a light one on the display.
Despite this display looks ok, but only the upper half reacts to touch ...
So the idea is now to do some backups and then sent it in for repair.
The phone is stuck at the lock screen and cannot be unlocked because the number are in the lower half of the screen.
My first idea is to enable the "Glove modus" (Settings -> Display -> Enable Gloves) and maybe the display will still react to pressure touch... (?)
However how can I enable this modus, is it possible via adb and how?
Any help appreciated, cheers
PS:
The phone is rooted, btw.

What do you mean, exactly?
Maybe he meant to plug a mouse using an OTG cable. I haven't tried myself so i can't vouch for the method
He's right. Buy any cheap USB OTG adapter and plug any USB mouse (even wireless) to Your phone. Tested and working.
Thanks, USB OTG adapter did the trick.
I got from eBay a cheap replacement screen (about USD 80). After installing it the resolution was very, VERY low. I went into display settings, and changed it, but this bricked the phone. It boots, but after the splash comes no picture. Only sounds and vibrations, so THE REST OF THE PHONE WORKS. I'm not able to boot it even in recovery/download mode with picture. Splash is the only visible pic.
I didn't find a way to reset the phone via Odin without flashing (can't flash At&T).
I cant flash it via Samsung Smart switch, because it asks me to activate USB transfer. Can't.
Any suggestions for resetting it, or lowering the resolution?
If the phone actually works but it's just the display causing it to not display anything, then maybe you can buy an adapter to HDMI and connect an external display to the phone. That way you might get an output.
same issue
any luck with the solution?
experiencing the same issue...
Nope. I wasn't able to play HDMI video without usb settings from the phone
Hello guys! Today my phone was in direct contact with the floor... It has broken screen (broken glass and black screen) and cannot be turned on. When I'm connecting phone to the PC, the diode is flashing every second, but PC doesn't see it. I want to recover all the data (if it's impossible, just a photos) is it possible to do it in home? Or even in some kind of a service? If so, what's the cost of this recovery? Never done any rooting etc.
Just have the screen replaced. Most phones will not connect to the computer via normal user methods if the screen does not work, because you have to unlock or open the screen, and also to click the selection for the type of USB connection. Even the best option under this menu, called "media transfer", does not show the entire phone. If you want to do something better then that by recovering the files instead of repairing the screen first (by taking it to repair shop), you will need to learn to use the search engine better then this.
Hello,
My friend gave me a phone, to recover photos from it. It has broken screen and I can see only 3/4 of the screen, but the problem is, that it has ghost touches, so I can't even unlock it. The phone has locked bootloader, disabled USB debugging and no root. I can only disassembly it. My idea was to connect monitor or TV through hdmi adapter and disable touch screen from phone, but I don't have the adapter. Do you have any ideas to recover photos from it?
Hi! My phone fell off recently and the screen suddenly turned black with some dead pixels coming when tapping the unlock button or the fingerprint. So the phone is working but alas the screen is not functional. I´m going to send it over to google since I have warranty over it, but I´d like to know if there´s any way to backup any files I can from it (pictures mostly, audio, video...) before I mail it off and lose it forever.
When I plug the phone to the PC with USB cable I get the usb sound and the phone seems to charge, but I cannot select USB data transfer mode. Any idea of how could I take my files? Thank you all!
Bump, Same Problem here.
Without being able to manipulate Android system via the touchscreen, the answer is unfortunately no.
That being said, since it's a Pixel, your photos should be backed up to your Google Photos account.
If you have adb already enabled on your device these might help.
