Hi,
Is there any way to get out a video signal ???
I want to clone the screen content to a second monitor wich has a yellow connector for video and a little jack for audio. Audio is no problem, but what's about video ???
Regards,
vs1
vs,
Do you mean you want to get the video signal from...
1. Your PDA to another PC
or
2. Your PDA to another PDA?
or
3. Your PC to your PDA []

vs1,
If you want your PDA to display on a PC, you can use Microsofts "Remote Display Control for Pocket PC". Ye gotta love their long names for loads of things.
You can get it here : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/powertoys.mspx

Ok, what's the best "free" way to watch TV over Wi-Fi or even 3G? Can I use a website or is there some good software. Found some but wanted to know what's the most popular.
Thanks.
www.wwitv.com
That wont work with PIE.

That's a shame, works fine here.
Dave,
Which TV channel is working? all of them?
I tried several and got blank white screen everytime.
It looks the web browser cannot execute the JavaScript ...
I use PIE with PIE Plus installed via 3G connection
Anyone can test this?
So far all the UK ones work and a couple of the USA too. Haven't tried any of the foriegn languague stations. I get the white screen too sometimes, but it goes when I restart it awhile later.
Strange ... I got white screen everytime, no matter how long I wait ... then refresh.
You meant restart = refresh, right?
I tried so far all UK "News (Live)" channels.
BBC News 24 Live
Narrowband: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsa/n5ctrl/tvseq/n24/nb/wm/video/news24_nb.asx
Broadband:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsa/n5ctrl/tvseq/n24/bb/wm/video/news24_bb.asx
The broadband feed works great over 3g as well as wifi in full screen.
A great way to watch YOUR TV and DVR if you have one is to use SlingBox. It works great on Kaiser.
how can i save mms file to my windows media player or??
I use MobiTV. Its not "real" tv, but it has some good stuff
Orb and Logmein.
I use Orb which is free.
But then you need a Windows Media centre that stays on line.
With the (also, I am cheap) free Logmein I can give programming instructions and record things.
And of course I have a webcam connected, to look at the see where I live.
In Casablanca it helped me very much. From the hotelroom looking at "een vandaag" or the news, instead of all those Arab ( with respect btw) programs I do not understand

A good one is the Dutch www.streamingpda.nl with lots of English spoken chanels gif it a try.. BTW it is for free
Doesn't get any better than Slingbox. Sling is king when it comes to streaming live TV and watching your DVR on your mobile.

Absolutely, but ( God only knows why) not available in most European countries. Like in my beloved Holland)

Am using the Sony Locationfree, unfortunatly it's not available yet for phones only the PSP. Fingers crossed something comes out soon.
But you can import it from UK, right?
I dont see any reason it cannot be used in the Netherlands ... but ...
PS: I plan to buy Slingbox as well and I live in the Netherlands

Orb is much better than slingbox - and free! (Well, if you have a PC with a TV card lying around like I do)
http://www.orb.com
Ehhh... I wouldn't say Orb isn't "better" than Slingbox. If you have a TV tuner card, and tons of memory space on your desktop at home, and you don't mind leaving your computer on at all times, and you don't mind waiting quite a while (15 minutes sometimes) to restart a stream once you have paused it-- then yeah Orb could work for you. Personally, I found Orb pretty inferior compared to Slingbox. Sling is a one-time fee for the hardware box, a one-time fee for the software you put on your mobile, then it's completely free. Worth every penny in my opinion.
im not sure whats goin on with mine but i can open the streams just fine - i can get sound but no video - the player goes fullscreen and everything, but it just displays a black screen - it does this on the standard windows pocket media player web portal videos too - any ideas?
Does anyone know of any systems comprising about 4 cameras that can be set up to stream its videos to the Athena?
x10
i belive the X10 system can be configured for this type of thing as well as running macros for heating lights etc etc and designed to be used with pda's !!!

spzero, thanks for the tips mate. I'll investigate this.
edit: it looks very very good. This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. But they only ship to US and Canada
I'll see if I can find another website that sells to Australia.
BTW, are you using this yourself? If so, care to share your experience with this product?
It looks very very exciting, and I really want to be able to watch my office on my Athena.
The X10 system is probably better, and I am going to look into it myself but currently I have 2 things that im doing
1) The easiest is to get a webcam (or for better pic quality) a cheap TV capture card (either USB or PCI) and plug a security camera into it, I then open my webcam/capture card in a simple program (I use VLC) and use remote desktop to view on my PDA. (even better I have full remote control over the camera PC from my PDA) the pic quality is like fast updating stills 1 or 2 frames per second
2) Install software like webcam monitor this will monitor your camera for you, if it detects motion it will photgraph it via your webcam and email it to anywhere you like, if you setup win live on your phone you will receive pics like text messages every time the cam pics up a disturbance !
I forgot to mention (because I have not done it myself yet I plan to do it next time Im away from home) Orb is free video broadcasting software, if you have a TV capture card or USB device connected to your computer not only can you watch live TV streamed to your PDA on the go but you can connect a camera and get that streamed to you aswell !
ive not used it my self 'the gadget show' did a revie of it some time back you may be able to see it at their website chanel5.com or .co.uk or .tv im not sure which its a uk tv station a quick google should help, its really impressive stuff and i had considered it before when i was renting a place but never got round to it, i own my home now and considering it again. ive only heard good things about it and i belive its what bill gates has at his house for his home automation,
I tried using orb, it was excellent ! Full motion video of my living room !! it was kinda boring though as nobody was in.
I would imagin you only want to watch it when your alarm system has been triggered to call your mobile. The camera allows you to confirm if it is a false alarm, and if not what's going on in your house.
No point watching it when nothing is happening.

Hi I'd like to use my Kaiser as a wireless microphone (baby monitor function) and receive sound on my PC.
I've been thinking about using Bluetooth as well as WiFi connection.
Any Help?
Thanks
it would reqire a special made program to run on both the pda and the computer
the pda would have to be on all the time recording every sound and compress it to mp3 or something smaller then wav
and transmit it over the network to a program on the pc which would play store or alert you
basicly it would require a lot of programming
and unless you phone was being powered by ac
it would suck your batt dry very very very fast
There is a more advanced software for it, it's called Video Camera Plus but it streams video signal as well as the sound. The thing is it doesn't always work well on my kaiser and I don't need a video to be transmited.
Basically I'm looking for something simpler.

Skype? Install fring on it and call your computer. Disable the sound on Kaiser and keep it plugged in. If you have wifi it should work.
Actually I bout my galaxy 7 months ago and I installed it on my car by car mount. It is my navigator, music player and ... but I need to add two things more:
First: I want to use it as my TV in my car by using external TV tuner (Digital or Analog). Is it possible? Is there any accessory for me to do this? Any solving way?
Second : I want to connect my flash memory to my phone to play music from my flash memory like so many car audio systems . is there any way for this ?
and the last , is there any software that has this ability to read SMSs loudly ? Because when I`m driving it is impossible for me to read my SMSs.
thank you allllll

Lol. Unfortunately he is right.
With the read SMS, there are plenty apps on the market that can do this. Give them a try to find personal preference.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Such a thing doesn't exist. Just Slingbox or something similar
tv is so retro man.......STREAM IT!

Could you please send us a picture from your installation? I am curious how did you do that. Thanks
If you were in South Africa your wish would have come true... one of the local satellite providers (Multichoice / DSTV) offer a device called the Drifta that you pair with your Android device and you are then able to watch TV on your device.
Do a google search for "DSTV Drifta"
so he's not a fool after all if this drifta is true
and I dont know which one is more of a fool when someone asking an external tv tuner to watch tv in his car and someone answered to stream it via wifi
unless your city is shrouded with wifi all over
in some country where wifi is not abundant and 3g is still sluggish, tv is still a main activity throughout the day, open your vision to a bigger world, you;re not living in a box. they sell galaxy tab there too
if i'm not mistaken, the brazilian galaxy tab is equipped with tv tuner?
so maybe there's a possibility of that , and maybe that's why he's asking
there's nothing wrong with that
a simple answer "No, it doesnt exist" would be much nicer without the fool remark

Well put! I agree with your sentiment
Slingbox
You can even control your home cable box with it, last I used it you needed wifi, but that was years ago
Im from South Africa and I own a Samsung GT-P1000. All you do is purchase the little drifter box from Multichoice, then download and install DSTV Decoder app from Samsung Apps icon on your device.
Open the DSTV Decoder app, connect your drifter, enter your Smartcard number of your home DSTV and vwala, there you go TV on the road on your Tab
Korean version of the galaxy tab has a built-in tv tuner. If your country supports the dmb type of broadcast then that is what you need
