I have an XDA 1
ROM 4.00.11 ENG
Radio 4.21.00
I use a citipack keyboard and for a long time had a problem when I tried to enable the keyboard as it reported that the COM port was in use.
This weekend I finally managed to workout that it was trying to use the same COM port as the IRDA. Unchecking the receive all incomeing beams resolves this. Does anyone know how I can make the keyboard use a different COM port so that I do not have this conflict
I dont think so, it is exactly the same problem that arises when using gps, it also wants Com1, also I never found a way of using gps if beams was turned on, or if a keyboard driver was present.
XDA II and Citipack Keyboard
G'day Guys,
Firstly, I think you can use the Resco Registry editior to jump into the "COMM" area and change the allocated COM ports.. Just a guess.
(Make sure you take careful note of the ports you're changing so that you can return unsuccessful attempts back to default settings - Or you'll wind up needing a hard reset!)
Secondly, has ANYONE found an IR keyboard driver that works on the XDA II / iMATE?
Cheers
Andy

Is there a way for me to use a regular PC Bluetooth keyboard for my TyTN II?
I have this keyboard that would really work well with the device.
It would prove to be a really cheap alternative to the keyboard that is made for the PDA's, plus, it would make alot of things alot easier.
I would assume you must make a program that can read the signals made by the keyboard, but is this possible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Bluetooth is Bluetooth, no? What happens when you try to pair the two devices? That's a sweet idea, by the way.
I think this might interest you as well. There's a way to connect a BT mouse to WM devices. I found it on Handango.com, although, strangely, it doesn't show up if you select the AT&T Tilt as your device (but it does show up with any WM5 device).
BlueMouse
I'm going back to grad school soon, and am loving the prospect of carrying 3 small devices that (almost) do the same thing as one heavy laptop!
EDIT: Just read through this thread, and WM6 actually has native support for BT mice! Except for Microsoft's own BT mice... lol. However, I think BlueMouse supports them.
Have a look at this link for a cheap alternative :
http://www.amazon.com/Stowaway-Ultra-Slim-Bluetooth-Blackberry-Handhelds/dp/B0002OKCXE
Buy it while stocks last, I would have brought one but I live in the UK and shipping will be too expensive along with any other taxes they may want to add unless one of you guys can send me one.
Pairing
I have a Logitech bluetooth keyboard with an integrated touchpad. But when I try to pair them, my device just doesn't find the keyboard.
Although I find it amusing, I believe it is even slower using a bluetooth mouse for my phone, than actually using the touch function
But we are atleast on the right track.
For now, I use pocket controller for using my keyboard. But the downside is that it's slow and you need your device connected to the computer at all times.
Imagine using a regular bluetooth keyboard! What a dream ^^
Have you tried using a regular bluetooth keyboard that doesn't have an integrated touchpad? There could be something about that configuration that WM can't handle.

Assuming your PC BT keyboard supports the HID profile (it probably does), it should work with the Kaiser right out of the box, as the WM6 Bluetooth stack has HID drivers built-in.

Ok. Now my device actually finds the keyboard, but I can't connect it. When I click connect, it asks for a password. I enter nothing, and it continues to where I can select the purpose for the keyboard. When I press finish, my device tells me that the keyboard wants to connect to my phone. Now I need a password to continue, so therfore I enter a random password, like 1111. Then my device waits for a few minutes, and tells me the keyboard has failed connecting.
I have a DiNivo Edge keyboard, if it's any help
Any ideas?
Thx ^^
Maybe...
Maybe I need a specific code, or a way to make the keyoard agree to the connection.
Difficult
Try 0000 -- that's almost always the default password for BT devices.

Thank you, but I've already tried it. The keyboard behaves like a phone, making my phone waiting for the keyboard to input a password. Damn :\

Sorry this may seem stupid, but have you got the user maual for the keyboard? Or tried the manufacturers site if not? They may have a general config for it (PC and WM device association key will be the same).
Otherwise, look around the keyboard (and even in the battery compartment of the keyboard) for a four digit number to try.

No, it doesn't sound stupid Sometimes even the smartest person forgets the simpliest resolutions
But I have already tried that, except for the battery compartment. I have no idea how to open it, cause it's an internal rechargeable battery. But if there is an opening somewhere, I'll take a peek inside for a four digit number
Thanks!
Been looking ...
... everywhere on the net, but still haven't found a way to connect the keyboard :\ Anyone that has the DiNivo Edge keyboard, and could help me with this? It would be more than appreciated
Thank you!
Nothing works
I'm giving up

Don't,
I've looked up the Logitech Dinvo Edge and it looks as if it comes with a proprietory BT USB dongle for PC connection and all setup is done through an install CD (for the PC).
Do you have the CD because the 4-digit pin may be on the setup instructions. Failing that, it may be best to go to your first post on this thread and edit the title to be a bit more specific such as ' Logitech Dinvo Edge BT KB, working anyone?'
Give it a go.

Now, two months later, I am still clueless about how to get this working. Anyone having better luck than me?
I think you should enter your own passcode first on your PDA, and quickly typing the passcode on your BT KBD while PDA is waiting..
I could connect with Apple BT, Microsoft BT kbd..
Is there away to use the tilt as a gps receiver for my laptop?
Thanks
I believe the easiest way is to use GPS Gate
I am interested in this too. do you have any experience with gps gate? what application is the gps able to interface with on the laptop?
I tried gps gate but could'nt get it to work with microsoft sreets and trips.basicly any software uses gps should be able to use the tilts gps.just need a better way to foward it to the laptop.also don't like having to use active sync for gps gate to locate the phone on the laptop.
There's GPS2Blue, it's free but less simple to use.
GPS2Blue works very well. But, kilrah is correct that it can be a pita to setup. After some searching I did find a nice walkthrough on this site - basically, it's all about setting the com ports correctly and weather you want it to use BT or the usb cable for transferring data. I had some problems with BT initially so I used the cable connection. Which I personally think is better anyway because it will charge your phone at the same time. I'm using this solution in a CarPC. It is awesome.
Did you actually get GPS2Blue to work over BT? I can't. Setup suggests to create an incoming COM port in the BT settings, but on my WM6.1 ROM this option doesn't exist. If I jsut choose a random BT COM port in the program (tried all) all I get is IO Exception, waiting for BT to be enabled (it is obviously on).
Disregard, found solution. For some reason they removed the incoming port config option from WM6 on, but it's still possible to add one via the registry, and once this is done it works perfectly well.

Hey everyone..
I would really love to connect a full usbkeyboard to my Magic 32A..
But then i connect my logitech G15, nothing happens..
I think it because of the need of a HID driver.. But i am not sure..
Does anyone now where i can get a HID driver for android?
//Reffer
lol. No. Just no
LMAO. FAIL.
If I remember correctly, there's a lot of posts about this on the official SDK mailinglist/forum/whatever. If you google it I'm sure you'll find something.
And shoo to the last two posters!
Hey mockillo. Thx for posting a answer i actually could use to something..
The only post i could find on SDK was this one: http://groups.google.com/group/andr...hl=en&lnk=gst&q=usb+keyboard#7397813348f7a9fa
And they say that android not support BLuetooth HID.. But nothing about normal.. I think i will try to make a topic in there too..
That's not how USB works. If you want a full keyboard you'll have to get a bluetooth keyboard & wait for the bluetooth SDK to be released (maybe rooted users can use bluetooth keyboards already?)
USB host
does anyone know if Magic hardware supports USB host? If so, it would be possible with 2.1
Just check this out: _ttp://jkontherun.com/2010/02/17/how-to-add-a-usb-keyboard-to-an-android-phone/
appearently MAKE magazine did an article about it. I say it just might work. but you may want to talk to some devs to see how to get into usb OTG mode with a mytouch.
anyone tried this?
on my last check no dev is building with USB HOST built into there roms ( things can connect to phone) unlike the normal usb slave (your phone can connect to things ) , plus if you were to use your phone as a host it would need to power the connected device (ie. Keyboard)
some good news ...
Most roms built off of CM source have a bluetooth HID stack... So like me i use a bluetooth keyboard (logitech media board for ps3) and it works great. And drains the battery no more than a bluetooth head set.
Sent from my HTC Sapphire using Tapatalk
same goes to me
haha. A funny guy... lol.....
You should find driver for that keyboard... I think...
Try v.mote this is exactly what you want... just the opposite (the phone become a keyboard..)
Hello,
I have smart bluetooth keyboard KB600 (about four years old) and I'm looking for driver for my HD2, any idea?
Thank you.
did you try pairing it directly without a bt driver?
Pairing HD2 and bluetooth keyboard
I am trying to pair the same device: My HD2 finds the keyboard, and is able to connect via SPP slave. But I am not able to type anything? ... anybody? I am using a COM2 port for the connection, and the HD2 is "always visible", I have no clue why it's not responding! ANY help is appreciated
Same problem here............ PLEEase help
HTC HD2 and BK600 COM ONE/OMIZ/FREEDOM bt keyboard issue
Hi,
first, accept apologies, because i repost a message posted in the wrong thread (same problem, but not same phone)
Home \ HTC Diamond: Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV \ Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Accessories \ Bluetooth Keyboard BK600 problem
anyway, they explain that my com one bk600 is the same than omiz and freedom KB600. So, i've tested 2 drivers
1) Installing omiz one, it proposes me several choices (my model is not in it), but i've used to have this installer (older version) work for my old acer n50 and my pharos. I guess i've to choose a model with arm and widcomm bt.
No success, it seems that the software installed, but the application claims it's not a valid ppc applicaiton (strange because it worked one time and fails saying that there is not enough memory when clicking activate)
2) i've tested the freedom universal keyboard (second choice)
The driver installs perfectly; on the htc hd2 side i've paired the devica and grant connexions (the wizard report that the device is connected and the keyboard double green blink -- thats mean it's ok ) , but when i go to program files freedom utility and start it and click on connect, it claim that the device is not paired.
here where i'm. To bad, because having it works onACER n50 and HTC pharos.
Quoting another user, to pay $80 for 3 years lifetime...
Any ideas ???
Best regards,
Ludovic.
got the same problem. (BK600 and HD2)
Any success yet?
got the same problem here. i tried many drivers i found on the internet, none worked for me
next step is: i try to find a universal driver that can select a com-port manually to link with the bluetooth comport. maybe some infrareddriver can do this, because infrared also uses com-ports.
the problem is, the drivers are for microsoft bluetooth stacks and i.e. a hd2 uses broadcom as far as i know.
i hope anyone can find a solution
SPP keyboards do not work for WM builds 6 and over. This problem has existed for years and no one has found a solution.
I suggest you ditch the SPP keyboard and go with one that supports a HID profile.
Hi guys,
I had the BK600 keyboard and found these drivers to work:
It installs the proper program and works only through the programs. Do not bother trying to pair it with WM settings.
This also works on Symbian. I attached the files for you to test.
I am wondering whether there is an Android version that I can use with my HD2?
I was able to get the freedom BK600 keyboard working succesfully with my old windows mobile 6.1 Treo 800w phone. I found your WinCE.zip (30.0 KB) driver worked best with windows mobile 6.1. It places an executable called BTKeybd under the programs menu.
For Android users, please use Key Pro by Mobile Gears. It is the only SPP bluetooth enabled app that I can find. Works perfectly with my Android.
Hi There!
I have a problem and the problem is that i have a mini keyboard which I think is called freedom bk-600 and I have a Samsung Galaxy tab as my mobile phone.
My big problem is that I want to get connected my Samsung Galaxy tab with this keyboard but it is totally impossible to connect them.
Have searched everywhere on the internet but there are many questions and little answers out there so it seems that there are many who have the same problem.
So now I'm just wondering if there is any possibility that you guys could help me me with my big problem.
It seems like I'm missing a driver because I have paired these two devices but I can not write with the keyboard.
if there is no possibility to help me, I gone threw the keyboard because I have no use for it any more when it can not be used with android
best regards
Genaro
You've paired it, have you selected to use that keyboard in the settings?
yes and that's what I do not understand because I know I'm doing everything right but it's like the keyboard does not speak with galaxy tab.
Now I found a page online that says that this keyboard spoke a language called ssp and not hid.
I tried out 2 driver software for my cell phone with no luck, one called Blue Keyboard JP and the other called keypro speaking (HID language).
I just do not know what to do with this problem anymore ...
did u tried to connect the keyboard with another phone ?
