Hi,
My XDA fell out of my top pocket the other day and has now got a big dent in the cover. Can anyone tell me where I might buy a replacement cover preferably in the UK without having to send it away to O2 and be charged £75 for the privilage?
Spare O2 cover
Hi there,
I have an almost new 02 frontcover for you.
All the buttons in place of course.
Would this help?
Best regards,
Murk
Murk,
Thanks for the reply, but the whole case is a bit sad now, so I am really after a complete new (or as-new) case.
If you don't mind having it look like the T-Mobile XDA, just browse eBay and look for a Dummy T-Mobile XDA ($10-15US). Then take the dummy apart and your existing XDA and eventually swap the cases (front & back).
It takes a little bit of time taking it apart and transferring the mic/speaker/vibrate device/battery - but it's easy, just have to be careful and smooth.
Also, some folks say that the dummy phones are cheap plastic.... well, the case is identical to the original T-Mobile XDA so dispell that myth.
I just did this 'operation' myself today and now have a brand new looking XDA (I had the infamous paint peeling case. Couldn't get it replaced since I had it RAM upgraded).
Front and Backcover
Hee Angus,
It seems my first relpy did not make it.
I have a complete case for you.
I would prefer to hold on the backcover as the battery is in there.
But if you want it I could provide them to you with or without the
battery.
Let me know.
Best regards,
Murk

I got the screen from here, http://www.runpda.com/ , it cost £93.00
including shipping. But I got stung by customs for £38.00 Tax, rip-off, so it cost me £131.00 in total. I've bought from this part of the world (Asia) before and not been charged by taxman, its just the luck of the draw.
Someone suggested this place in the UK, but I had already ordered, if anybody tries this one, post costs etc for everyone. Mobile Repair Centre in London. 177a North end road 0207 610 3103.
I used this manual to open case, all the instructions are ok,
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Himalaya/Himalaya-Service-Manual/
The only bit that is confusing is the opening of the black plastic cover, basically follow manuals instructions to open cover by pen holder side, then slid a thin piece of plastic in the gap and slid along (I made a plastic tool from cutting a thickish plastic bottle). In the picture it looks like you place it in the SD slot, this is not the case, just slid along the edge of the gap you have created by the pen holder.
i havn t pay Tax, you must tell to runpda, please write GIFT on the package

Ebay Item#170562383600
OEM Housing Faceplate cover HTC Magic G2 Google BLK/Red
Price: US $16.10
Ebay Member id szcoco88610
How hard was it to swap the housing? I've done PSP and DS housing replacements in the past and they were fairly easy. I seriouly want to do this one because my Magic is looking a little worn too lol.
Very easy... Just a hand full of screws... Only issue I had was with the volume rocker... Needed to trim the tabs cause they always kept the volume buttons pressed... Took only a few minutes actually... Maybe 20 tops start ta finish

It looks awesome. Mine is in a really bad situation. The previous owner always threw it around.
I'm considering getting this case, looks awesome.
I ordered new casing too... it's otherwise perfect but there's a small annoyance - the microphone slot was mirrored from the original, so I couldn't use the silvery new middle cover. But well as it turned out I actually like the phone much more now with the new white covers and the original red middle cover - see the pics! The covers are from eBay too, seller sunestyle.
I hope you can get the idea even though these pics are taken with a phone.
First, the microphone annoyance. Red is original, silver new:
Second, front:
Third, back:
i just buy this one

I found these today on eBay and bought 2 of them, one WHITE, one GREY. They are the CHEAPEST I can find online at the moment.
I decided to get the grey because I sound a grey note 2 today and it looked quite awesome. I got the white one so I can have one as a back up.

Thank you!
Do you like them so far?
Let us know how the covers fit when you get them! My original back cover is not snapping all the way in below volume rocker, if I press hard the back cover with the phone on the table I can get the clip hold for sometime, but even the slightest bump to the phone releases the snap from it's home.
The cover leaves a small gap in there which creaks a bit when I hold to phone from that position. I doubt that the operator store has spare ons lying around , but mayby I could try to have a flip-case for free for the semi defect back cover.

Yup let us know
Wondering if it's actual genuine cover...
Well I decided to go ahead and get one since it is only 15 bucks.
It says though that i shouldn't expect it until mid december. Once i get it though if i can remember ill post some pics.
edit: still waiting, eta is 0-19 days and tracking says it is in my state
new battery door finally came in. Material quality is almost exactly the same as stock. Writing on the back is missing the galaxy note II branding but that may be becuase i have the sprint version.
If your into using nfc then you may wanna go with oem. It appears to not have nfc antenna. The are some 3rd party battery doors that have it built in but they'll cost you a little more.

IF you use one of the 50% off Samsung codes, or register your device on Samsung.com and use the code they send you, you can order a replacement battery door from them for $9.99. Bought mine yesterday morning and had it here by noon today. I messed up the one that came with my phone trying to Mod it.

I only see the verizon battery door on the website.
You could also order from Samsung for $19.99... there's plenty of 50% codes floating around that could bring it down to 9.99

Hiya,
Having bent my headphone port cover when I dropped the phone, I just ordered a replacement from Rounded.
My question is pretty simple - how do I go about fitting it?
Cheers for any help or suggestions!

Wait intill it turns up and it might come with fitting instructions
Where did you find them ? I bent the side of my phone a little ( honestly, it's almost invisible, but I know it's there and... you know the rest ) when i dropped it, been thinking about replacing it.
I'm afraid I can't post links, but a UK company called Rounded is selling them.
