Upgrade Qtek 9090 German E-Plus to English

Hello experts
Can You help me with this?
I have a QTEK 9090 E-Plus (german) branded phone, and really want it in English if possible.
I have read all threads here (I believe) and also found the one for changing language from German to English with the T-mobile MDA3.
But this I don't assume can be readily used with the E-plus branded phone?? or can it?
Hoping to get something usefull here.
Thanks.
Btw. The phone is not locked to any network.
Thanks.
You should be able to use any Qtek rom on this.In the Blueangel folder on the ftp, look for the qtek upgrade. It is the 1.22.167WWE rom in English with the 1.06.02 radio. Then install the 3900 b/t build. The only thing that you will have to do is set your connection settings for your carrier.
Hope this helps.......Later

UI Schell Language switch

I have Dutch MDA Vario, so to my mind it would be nice to switch the OS language to WWE. One of the possibe ways to do so is to update firmware with WWE Rom.
But I think there is another one:
http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=61&Itemid=45
there you can download "Add-On language packs for WM2005" (*dll.0409.mui files).
Simply copy these files to \Windows directory and change the language related setting in registry and soft-restart the device.
At least it works on my phone.
P.S.: But I think some files are missing cause several subjects in menus are still in Dutch
French OS to English OS
Hi Alex,
I have an Orange French OS and would love to change it to English. Unfortunately on that link they dont seem to have the French files yet.
Regarding Flashing, could you point me to a thread which explains how to do it? I've looked at a few and someone mentioned that the default English OS is actually in my ROM already?
Many Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cheers,
Rob
Guys you can install a QTek or IMate rom.
Those are WWE (world wide English)
So did I!
This method does not require flashing!!!
Hi Ponja and Alex,
How can I install it without flashing? Also, as I use Orange and their GPRS network for net access, do you think I will still be able to connect with a differen version of WME?
Many Thanks,
Rob
dear panja
i have the same problem , just bought vario from dutch t-mobile and i hardly know dutch at all
would you be kindd enough to tell me how to install a qtek or imate rom

Italian Rom on english K-mate

I bought a K-mate a few months ago in New York.
I'd like to change its language from english to Italian.
I tried to install an italian rom upgrade but it din't work.
Some suggestions?
Well... i suppose that your K-mate it's an imate KJAM.
Before change you rom you have to unlock CID with lokiwiz 0.2b, then you can run the Italian ROM upgrade (search the forum for lokiwiz).
The keyboard will be mapped different, but you can donwload AEKmap and the profile for WWE wizard ( http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php ) to adjust all the keys.
I did exactly the same steps; it works
can you guys direct me where I can find Italian ROM for Wizard, please?
You can find on ftp.xda-developers.com in subdirectory Uploads/HTC_Wizard/ROMS/
Or if you want the imate roms at ftp://ftp.clubimate.com
thank you
There is a more simple method to change keyb layout:
As explained here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=38092
The STRING key must be "0410" for original Qtek9100 italian Keyboard.
enjoy!
FTP Access
Hi all, and thanks in advance for any help.
How can i access to xda ftp site, i can't get connected with any user and pass.
I'm looking for ROM upgrade for Qtek 9100 in spanish.
Thanks.

Changing language settings on WM5

Hi All, I bought a 750v in Germany while on Hols recently but cant change the language to English. Will I need to flash it, If so how is it done and where can I get the firmware. Maybe I'm missing something simple but although I dont speak German I can get to the language settings and selsect English but I get an error message which I dont understand. Tried a hard reset but to no avail. Hope somone can help.. Thanks Stretcher.
Yup, you'll need to flash. I havn't bought mine yet but I first did a research. Since I live in Switzerland, it's hard to find anything in English. One on-line retailer told me the same thing - that though the ROM is in German, it could be switched to English. I then asked Palm and they confirmed that I should order an English version.
Thanks, Zerimar. Any idea where the firmware can be sourced ???
There's a Cingular ROM in the ftp but those who have flashed this ROM now complain that it has a lot of bugs. If you do flash with this ROM there's no way of flashing back your original.
Cheers Zerimar.
I'm a Vodafone customer and my sim works fine it just the language of WM5 thats the problem. Can I just flash an English version of WM5 on its own ???
Stretcher..
Unfortunately there's no other shipped rom available except the Cingular one.
Language change
Same problem here:
I recently bought a Palm Treo 750v very cheap, but it is in French language.
As far as i know the only solution to change the language is to flash the ROM with a different language.
Does anyone of you know where i can download a German or English ROM ?
You can also send me the link to download it to my PM.
Thanks in advance !
calico
I have the same problem.
I bought the Palm from Vodafone and they assured me there was the italian language inside but no luck ... german only.
Any change to dump out the ROM from there?
Same here. Treo 750v in French.
My provider and even Palm told me to do a hard reset an a language selection prompt would appear .....
I don't think there is any Treo 750v with language selection,
this is not known on WM5 units, only on the multilingual Palm OS Treos.
I had the chance to flash it English, now it is usable for me.
Maybe there will be a German ROM soon ?
I found a way to change the language to English. But the phone app crashes then! It seems that all WM5 apps have a main language (english) and your local language as second language. However the phone app (by Palm?) must have one only language because it crashes all the time.
I seeked in the WM5 registry for MUI, my setting is 1040 (italian), so I tried to switch it to 1031 (german) and 1033 (english). And it worked, but the phone app would constantly crash and make the system slow.
There are also more keys that are specific to languages, like just search the registry for your language key (best results) or search for "lang".
Now the question is: can one just patch the phone app (cprog.exe i think) to support english or is it a different issue?
- Thilo
Hi there,
Have spotted that Calico had an original French-ROM 750v.
Calico, if it remained untouched, are you considering exchanging it with my original English-ROM version? Where are you based?
Cheers, Dom
if you can make MUI in german, you can use like this way.
PLS see this thread

change language on mteor from english to dutch?

how to change the english language on the mteor to dutch? i have a htc mteor, and i assume this one is cidlock free. i tried to download an dutch htc mteor rom from the website, but none of the links work on the htc website. so i cannot find a dutch rom. i only want to change the language (os) from english to dutch...
any help is appreciated.
hmmm... My MTeoR have rather languages inside
Check languages in prefrences
what i meant (or should have written down), is that the os on my mteor is english. thus having a WWE rom on it. what i want, is the Dutch rom on it. so i need to flash it with the dutch rom. for that i need a dutch originally shipped mteor rom. at least, i believe that i can reflash it on my mteor without getting the wrong vendor id / country error (thus hoping that the mteor is cidlock free!!)
you are right!!!

you are right!!! i assumed i had to reflash the os to get the dutch language like one has to do with the qtek 9100 etc. but you are right, in the preferences you can change the language...
thanx for your reply, as you might have guessed... this is my first smartphone in a line of many other smartphones like the mda compact 1 to 3, htc wizard, tytn.....
so i wasn't quite familiar with the option to change the language inside the european rom itself
