I'd like to buy a bluetooth adapter for my diamond, but on all places i found one, diamond wasn't listed over the phones that it works on, I know its bluetooth and I guess it should work on all devices with bluetooth and they maybe didn't update the list or so, but I'd like to be sure before i buy one, so does anyone know if for example this
http://www.mytrendyphone.no/shop/bluetooth-usb-adapter-2891p.html
HTC: Advantage, MTeoR, P3300, P3400, P3600, P4350, S310, S620, S710, Touch, TyTN
Is the ones from htc that are listed as phones that are working.
If anyone know some other usb bluetooth adapters that work with diamond and activesync needs to work, not just filetransfer.
I have just bought a secondhand Shift and wanted to add xp to it. I've read all and I know how to do that.
anyway here is my question is it posible to synch and flash other htc models from the Shift? or will it only synch with the WM side of Shift?
I'm quite shure it will but just need to have it confirmed if yes or no
Yes it will, you can connect any ppc to the usb port, and sync or flash to your hearts content...
Thanks this will give be the option to cook anywhere then
My HTC TyTN II charging but not synchronizing with USB even its not detecting any Windows mobile device.
Hi
I have a HTC TyTN II, I was able to do the ActiveSync with my Laptop and Desktop
Now I am not able to do that, when I am connecting the USB cable my windows mobile is charging but the ActiveSync doesn't get active and no device detected at Laptop or desktop end.
checked cable is fine as I have a O2 Atom which is working perfect on the same cable and same OS
I had even done the Hard Reset to Factory Settings, but no luck still having the same problem.
I have Windows XP SP3 in Laptop
and Desktop with Vista Ultimate edition
Please provide me a solutions for this.
Thanks in advance

Which Rom are you using?
I am not sure about that - How to check that?
Settings>> System>> About
Window Mobile 6 Professional
Original that comes with HTC Tytn II, I haven't updated the ROM.
I have downloaded this one
RUU_Kaiser_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.29.707.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship.exe
but not able update as I am not able to connect, even I try to do using Boot from USB - Pressing Power Button and Camera Button but no luck on that also.
Please see the attached images also, picture after connecting to the USB cable, you can see Mobile is charging and in ActiveSync (Which didn't auto started, I forcible on it) shows this msg.
Now I hope it would be a better pic of the problem.
If you're still under warranty -- SEND IT IN -- just tell them you can't synch the phone anymore.
If you're warranty is expired, take a magnifying glass and look at the connector on the phone. See if any of the pins look out of place, and if so use something suitable to carefully move the pins back into position. BE CAREFUL or you'll break a pin or the connector and you'll have to go to the next step.
The next step is to send your phone to a repair shop. HTC will repair it even if its out of warranty, and they'll charge a lot for it too. PPCtechs in the US will do it for a more reasonable price.
Seems the last option is to send to the service center, as the place I am in hasn't have any service center of HTC.
One more thing I am able listen full stereo songs using the headphone - which also connects through the usb port.
No option then have to give to the service center.
Not sure of the differences (if any) between HTC TyTN II and the Tilt from a settings perspective, but I did have the similar problem with my Tilt. Under Settings\Connections there is a "USB to PC" setting. I unchecked the "Enable advanced network functionality" box and the ActiveSync now works fine.
Hope that helps.
Yeah I did that ...(enable and disable of Advance USB)... tooo
I have a GPRS connection, by which I was able to share internet of PDA with Laptop.
Now when I am trying the same, its saying check USB cable., But through Bluetooth PAN its getting connected.
A proper search whould have confirmed waht one of the replies suggested. Check your USB connector, there are several pins in it and if on that is used for data transmission is bent/broken then it would cause what you describe.
This is a thread that never should have been, consider it closed. If you need more info find one of the existing threads about broken kaiser USB port/connector.
Hi,
I'm new to Windows Mobile, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. I've just bought a TyTN II (Kaiser) from eBay second hand, and I'm having a little trouble getting the PC to recognise it.
The phone is locked to the Orange network. However, it would appear that it has some custom firmware on, as the orange homescreen that I was expecting isn't there (which I'm very pleased about). In About it says "Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (Build 19209.dutty's WM6.1)"
When I connect the phone via USB cable to a PC, it's recognised as being there, and the PC tries to install software but fails, saying it can't find drivers. On the disk which was supplied is some BlackBerry Connect software, which doesn't seem to help when I install it. I've tried to install the phone on XP SP3 and Windows 7 build 7000, both saying that the phone can't be installed, and ActiveSync / Sync Centre say the phone isn't there.
The phone charges up fine when plugged in either via USB or Mains, which would suggest to me that the socket on the phone isn't faulty, but instead it's a software fault with the phone.
Thanks in advance.
Thomas
Solved it now.

Hey guys, I have a piece of software I use from my laptop that datalogs and flashes OBD-II ECM's. Its a very simple software built into a single executable. The software requires .Net 3.5, which I found "Windows Compact Framework 3.5". Now is there a way to install that, and the openport2 usb drivers for the obdII device onto my touch pro and run the software executable from it?
I would really like to run this off my cell phone since its easier to keep my phone battery alive in a car then it is a laptop. Plus its a lot less crap to lug around. Thanks for any help!
No.
.Net 3.5 is different to .Net Compact Framework 3.5 (the latter is mostly a cut down version of the former, but with the required mobile apis).
You can not install windows drivers on windows mobile.
Your cable would not work as the phone is a usb guest, not host. I understand there are hacks to get it to act as a usb host but driver support is limited.
In short: Its a phone not a laptop, sorry!

can i ask what the program is? ive been looking for something simple to datalog on my obdii car.
This people on http://www.autoenginuity.com/ does have an application for connect their OBD II equipment to a Pocket PC. May be with this aplication someone can help you... http://www.autoenginuity.com/dloads/pocketpc_scantool_install.zip
Good Luck
Looks like in order to get that to work, you'd need to get the adapter that plugs into the odbii port, and then bluetooth adapter (http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-hardware.html) unless you've got a serial cable & adapter... might be worth it, let us know if you decided to set that one up... I'm using my SCT and a netbook to log data currently.
Maybe check this out, I was planning on ordering one, but never really got around to it.

Buy a NETBOOK.
I use it with my VAG-COM all the time.
I'd have to second SH4YD33 on that one, I do the same. VAG-COM on my netbook.
I bought bluetooth interface from ebay (noname) and its working with notebook, even connect to my Nokia 6300, but I have problem to connect it to my Touch Pro. I try OBDGauge 1.1. Any suggestions?
