Hi there, I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm not doing things quite right. I've recently purchased a new MDA III and am unable to install Jave programs (.jar) as the Midlet manager is not installed (eventhough it should be according to the manual!!)
T-Mobile have eventually realised that the Midlet manager is not included when it should and have asked me to run SETUP-MidletManagerAppSuite-1.0.0.4-MDAIII-ENG-14Jan05.exe which they sent me in an email. I've run this but it fails with message “Unable to install application. Please update your device ROM to the required version before trying again”.
T-Mobile then asked me to download latest ROM update from http://www.t-mobile.de/blackberry_solution/support/english (there is an update for an MDA III eventhough it says BlackBerry). I ran upgrade MDA3_TMUK_v106160_SHIP0307.exe which upgraded me to:
CE Image (1.06.00)
Extended CE Image (1.06.160)
Radio Image (1.00.00)
Ps. this was the previous version I had before the upgrade but I thought I'd run it anyway.
I then tried to re-run MIDlet manager installation program but it failed with the same error.
Is anybody out there able to suggest anything please? T-Mobile's answer was that I have to wait for HTC the manufacturer of MDA's to release a new ROM update.
Many thanks in advance,
Regards,
John
I downgraded from WM5 to WM2003SE to get BB Connect installed. Would NOT install at all using O2 installer - didn't recognise EXTRom at all would never install. I THEN used the downgrade instructions http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5 and installed the Extrom - sucess - BB Connect (plus all other O2 rubbish) installed.
Hope this helps.

I changed my German Qtek 9100 ROM to the English K-Jam ROM.
The K-Jam ROM is running fine since over a week.
Since I never worked with the Qtek 9100 ROM I have a few questions.
I have problems uninstalling applications. I have tested several applications that have been written for WM5 (e.g. Resco Explorer, Spb GPRS Monitor,...) but wasn't able to uninstall the applications. I always get an error message that "not everything could be removed" and in reality nothing seems to be removed. The applications still run.
The second question is regarding the Dial-up Networking: Using my Qtek9100/KJam as bluetooth modem doesn't seem to work. It builds up a BT DUN connection but doesn't dial.
Does anybody know if this could be a problem of using a different ROM on my Qtek 9100 or is this a general problem of the KJam ROM.
Christian
Which ROM are you using?
I downloaded the K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship.exe from the XDA-Developers site.
I have the problem with Uninstalling programs. I use Qtek 9100 ROM WWE (with QTek device) available here at FTP.
I believe to have have found the problem.
It probably has to do with the Commontime mNotes which I use to sync my Lotus Notes calender and contacts with the Qtek.
Before I install mNotes I can uninstall any application without problems. As soon as I install mNotes some applications can't be uninstalled. After removing mNotes everything works fine again.
I installed mNotes 4.1.2 which solved the problem for some applications but not for all. I'm currently waiting for response from Commontime to see if this is a known problem.
I have O2 XDA IIs. I am from India. Airtel is my service provider. I downloaded Win2003 SE. My ROM version is 1.40.00 WWE, Radio version is 1.12.00,
My problem is that after getting Win 2003SE on my O2 XSA IIs. I cant get my activeSync linked up. It says Error 608. I am upset as I cant upload or download data from my PC. Please help as I cant understand the problem.
do you mean wm2005 as wm2003se is supplied with the xda iis by default.
What version of activesync are you using?
What OS are you using?
How are you connecting to the XDA iis (USB, wifi?)
Have you any firewalls, etc enabled?
Have you tried reinstalling Activesync or any other diagnostics?

I am uploading this package to the Wizard FTP now.
folder:
/Wizard/Roms/Dopod
Can anyone post the version details (ie. build, os version, radio version)
Seem nothing new.kinda I-must-catch-up ROM...
can we get confirmation that it's English? and also, what is included in the Rom? Push mail? BT stereo, etc.. any custumizations, etc..
So Im guessing its not worth it to upgrade from 2.17 then
Hmm, can anyone else confirm that it's English and confirm that it will work on their Qtek 9100? What else is included in this rom?

Click to collapse
Nope.. it's the same as 2.17 as far as core OS and radio goes. Only difference I see is the customizations.
I don't expect we'll see a different core OS in a ROM until/unless MS releases an AKU 3 or some other packaged-up set of bugfixes.
Most carriers are super reluctant to release ROM upgrades because of the risks of increased support costs for Upgrades Gone Wild(tm). (meaning bad flashes, bricked devices etc)
Just flash it today from 217 to 221. I can feel my 8125 can get better camera quality, and connect to the WIFI faster than b4 after upgrade it. Everything else are the same.
Well radio rom version seems to be different 2.19?
So ive got the imate 2.16.9.1 WWE
i can install this one and just soft reset before the extended rom loads and be ok?
is the .17 better then the .16 ive got btw?
btw im running this rom on an 8125. i DONT think its CID unlocked. any way to check?
i don't know why, but i seem to be having problems connecting to the internet through either wifi or ActiveSync. Pocket IE returns blank pages for any page i access. Is anyone having the same problem with this ROM?
so any other news about this rom? it hasnt recieved much feedback
This one works flawlessly on my Dopod 838/T-Mobile network, so far
Can anyone confirm that upgrading to this Dopod rom from QTEK ROM RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe is okay ? The Device is Dopod 838 btw
its ok its been really buggy, but the new voicecamander is better. but its real buggy and maybee not quite as fast
