how????
do I have to hard reset the phone again.....
please help
Unlock extended rom
delete album from extended rom on the device
copy the previous version of album in extended rom
edit config.txt
close ext rom
hard reset
enjoy
Thanks EX.
Mine locked up so tight it was squeaking......LOL I did 3 hard resets trying to make it work with no luck. I finally downgraded the album, flushed the Ext Rom, reloaded everything......again.....and went back to the 1.12 radio for now. I am not sure that the radio is at fault....might be the incompatibilty that was causing the lock-ups. I will run this for a few days, or until it freezes up again, and report back on this combo.

I have album version 2.51 build 16894 its called BA_Album_WWE in my extrom ;-)
I also had problems with radio 1.12, the most stable radio stack seems to be (for me) v1.06.00. Since 1.06.02 i'm faceing the "no sound from caller, but they can hear me" problem
1.40 &roblems
i upgraded back to the 1.40 rom 1.12 radio and cooked my own rom and found that hang up key problem. so i downgraded to the old album version and i have had no phone lock up probs. Thanks EX for that matey. i still seam to get gprs probs as in every now an then i have to reset the radio and not the pda part. have any of you guys had this problem. All in all this is a much more stable rom and i am alot happier. Oh yeah ps has anyone got the the O2 battery bar cab file from the 1.31.139 ext rom please
Well,I have not had a single lock-up,or had to do a single reset since I downgraded the album and cv files, and removed the Arcsoft cab and the GPRS monitor completely. My phone is clear sounding,my WiFi is good as well as is my b/t, and my battery life is very good again!

Sorry if this is posted before.
I've a problem with my extROM in my xda2s. Before it, ive followed all instruction to unlock my extROM, then partition it then i've made an upgrade with my xda2s with WM2k5_1.60c.00WWE_XDA2_HIMALAYA, first i've got checksum error, so ive made an editing with editfix, after that the himaupgrade checked that the rom, the extrom with strange version (its not like, eg. 1.40, it shows somekind of block & the other ascii character) except the radio. So I kept continue it doubtly & it 100 complete. After that ive got my device just showed with bootloder mode, even ive reset it. i guess that ive done a destructive way ( right ?) so i flashed it again with WM5_pack_V3.rar but with no extROM, & my device alive again so i tried to unlock my extROM with ExtROMUnlocker(for_WM2005_Only).cab, unhide was succeed, unlock was unsucceed, so what am i gonna do now ??? , please help me ... or i'll go to hell with the wrath of my parents .... hiks

Posting my experience for desingo
Well, i went so mad that i created http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_WM5_Extended_ROM
that wm5 has no extended rom, i downgraded to wm3 first.
created with the doc resize tool a 'partition" of 4mb's.
than i upgraded back to wm5.
installed the patch, rebooted
now my extrom is visible (see picture on the wikipage) and big enough to put files in, i consider it for now as the /storage of wm2003.
The data survives a registry and storage reset under wm5, but it wont start up,(yet).
The BlueAngel seems to miss a extended rom driver and some registry settings.
If anybody knows what files are used to be in the extended rom driver, please tell me, i
want to try with the wm3se files to recreate that "driver".
Or will the registry cab "EXTROM" thats on the wiki will do if they where integrated in the patched rom version?
After i installed this patch, after a reboot my autorun starts to "install"
So this is where i stranded with this problem, since i got wm5 on.
Curently running on my BlueAngel:
Wm2003SE 4.21.1088 Build 15159..2.6.4
Rom version 1.42.00 WWE

under wm2003
if you resized your rom to go to wm5 you need to resize it back to ?? i gues around 12 or 16mb? for himalaya do not know the value, must be done under wm2003
Than reinstall the wanted extended rom in .nbf with the no id loader.
note: make sure other 2 are nbf are not in, unless you want to do a full upgrade again.
You can always see ur extrom again, but it must be bigger then 128k
and use the extrom cab or a extrom unlocker tool.

i think i dont understand the problem proberly.
Once you upgraded to wm5 with 60mb storage, you wiped out the extrom password, so your extrom is already unlocked.
so if you go back to wm3 your extrom is stil unlocked.

The time, id could save you 15minutes, but you must be running wm3 and resized your extrom back to the original size, before you can reinstall your extended rom

Hi. I'm new to these forums so sorry if i'm asking a stupid question.
I have an Orange SPV M2000 and am having serious BT problems. The details are:
Operator version: 5.31.1.162
Rom version: 1.31.00 WWE
Rom date: 12/13/04
Radio version: 1.06.02
Protocol version: 1338.38
ExtROM version: 1.31.162 WWE
Where can I get an updated ROM from? I have looked everywhere but can't find one.
I'm not bothered if it is not an Orange version - I am using this phone unlocked anyway in the Channel Islands (we don't have the UK mobile companies over here), as long as it works on this handset.
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks a lot.
Looked here?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades
This is the lastest from the dutch a WWE version
http://www.orange.nl/media/download/spvsoftware/spvsoftware_update_m2000.exe
Think this one is newer than the one on wiki according to some dutch postdates of dutch forums!! and overhere its a difference of more than 2 months.
let us know
SPVm2000 Dutch WWWE ROM
Pimbo,
Im in UK on Orange Network. Will this ROM work ??
Country Code Error
I've tried a few of the upgrades from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades but get a country ID error.
Is there any way around this?... or any idea which one will work on UK phones?
Thanks
Not yet....
I managed to install spvsoftware_update_m2000.exe from above, but hasn't made any difference in my problems. (and since doing that I can no longer play mp3s)
Is there somthing extra to update the Bluetooth? I have got a pair of BT headphones/headset and all it get is clicking through it.
How do you set up headphones to work with windows media player and other windows based sounds?
Thanks
Simon

Hello,
just want to know if anyone in UK on the Orange network has had success with this new ROM ?? failures / good / bad experiences that anyone would like to share?? would really appreciate some comments as I am considering applying this upgrade myself.
Thanks

New Rom
After all that I decided to install a T-Mobile rom (BA_TMNL_14200_115_11300_Ship.exe).
Works a treat. BT problems solved, and with the BT patch from the ftp I have been able to get MP3 high quality audio headphones working over BT.
I am not on the Orange network, but it is an spv m2000. You'd have to read up on how to change the settings for orange specific stuff like gprs number etc.
This ROM does seem to be much more stable. BT signal is still a bit rubbish, dosen't work with anything in the way...even from in my pocket, but in clear line of site it is working up to 5 or 6 metres with my OMIZ blutooth headphones.
ok thanks for that. Can i just ask that do you just run the (BA_TMNL_14200_115_11300_Ship.exe) file and thats it?
do i need to run MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP or BaUpgradeUt ?
im on Orange network so im a little worried that it may load SPECIFIC T-MOBILE stuff that won't apply to me?
thanks for any help
Kadabra
Upgrade
Hi.
I needed the MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP, and had to run it twice before it stopped giving me the Country ID error.
I am using this on my Orange SPV M2000, but on the 'Wave Telecom' Network (Jersey telecoms but operating in Guernsey).
It works fine for me, however I don't use GPRS, everything else seems fine, I can make & receieve calls, send and receive SMS... that's about all I've tried.
Didn't have to unlock this phone... not sure why, maybe JSY telecom sim cards work in all phones? I didn't have to unlock it when it was on the orange ROM either... anyway, just a warning you may need to unlock it, but there is info on this site all about that.
I did have to update the SMS settings before sending SMS... but that's simple, it gets the settings itself, you just have to tell it to (click on the signal strength icon and go to 'settings'... then go to 'services' and on Voice Mail and SMS press 'Get Settings'.
I would like to test the new ROM and see if Push Email is worth the slower speed of the OS with the test ROM.
Before I do that, I want to know which test ROM to use and how to get back all of the Cingular settings after upgrading the ROM.
I also want to know how hard it will be to put the phone back as if it were never changed in case something goes wrong.
I know where I can get the unlock program. I do not know what else I need to do. I want to be able to upgrade the ROM and then install all of the cingular settings (GPRS, etc..) so that the phone functions correctly.
Thank you for your help.
OK, I am trying to do all of this, and I have gotten this far:
Unlocked phone with Lokiwiz02b
Backed Up Original Logo, OS, Radio, Splash and Extended ROM with aWizard v1.3b2
I downloaded: RUU_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test.exe
Is my next step just to double click onthe RUU* file and let it install the ROM?
After that is installed, how do I go about getting my Cingular settings back? I know I have to soft reset the phone before it installs the extended ROM that comes with the new ROM.
Months back Chris of SX66 (Blue Angel) Standardization Project ul'ed me this Cingular Customization cab which I have used on my Blue Angel's many WM5 upgrades. It works flawlessly on my Cingular 8125.
ROM version: 2.8.7.1 WME
ROM Date: 12/5/05
Radio version: 01.13.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.24
ExtROM version: 2.8.7.101

I just used this on my 8125 with the latest ROM. GPRS settings are fine, however I now have several useless accounts in the Messaging App: SBC, Earthlink and Bellsouth. I can remove the accounts but each time I soft reset they return. Can I remove these permanently?
I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the new ROM vs the 8125 ROM. Care to share your impressions? I'm considering the change, but am pretty happy with the 8125's ROM.

I have the phone working great now, thanks to your Cingular setup Cab, but I am curious about one more thing..
Are there any reasons to, or not to, install the Cingular extended ROM? What are the instructions for doing so?

My only reason for upgrading to the beta ROM, and I think this should be the only reason to upgrade, is because my company has an Exchange Server with SP2 installed and I wanted to test the Push Email.
The Push Email works ok.. I am not AS happy with it as I was with Blackberry Enterprise Server, but it is free. The only reason I am not as happy with it is because with BES, my mail would show up on my blackberry either at the same time, or a little before Outlook showed me having new mail. With this version of Push Email, I get my mail on my 8125 about 45 seconds to a minute later than outlook. Granted, this is no MAJOR drawback.. I just think it 'could' be as fast as BES eventually.

Which of the Cingular Cabs did you use? I know the No Email cab works great on my BlueAngel, can't wait to get my hands on the Wizard and try it.
Right now on my BA I have Cooked my Ext ROM so that it installs my preferred apps and some registry settings that I like but doesn't install the Cingular Xpress e-mail stuff.
Hoping to do the same with the Wiz next week (after all who needs sleep).
Could you tell me how to setup the Extended ROM to do that? I don't want the XPress Mail, GoodLink, etc.. either. is it as simple as taking those lines out of the .txt file?

Is is exactly that simple. If you want to add programs, just include the CAB file in your Extended_ROM and add lines to the config.txt file...
Be sure to enable the Touch Screen (Exec: TPEnable.exe) BEFORE installing anything will require you to click on something!

Note the last CAB actually installs registration Keys, Decive Name etc directly into the registry.
I used both of the cingular cabs that were mentioned above. Both worked equally well.
One more question if you have the time. How do I write the Extended ROM back to my device? Do I need to? Will I be missing anything if I dont? I would also like to know how make that last cab that installs registry keys.

I haven't had the ability to play with a wizard yet, currently using a BlueAngel.
As I understand it once you upgrade to the latest Wiz ROM you can't unlock the Extended ROM. So this is what I would do (assuming the aWizard Tool can flash just OS ROM or Just Extended ROM).
Unlock the Extended ROM before upgrading the OS ROM.
Copy it and Cook it.
Replace the original Extended ROM. (be sure that you kept a clean copy of the original)
Put the Cooked Ext ROM on your device and use aWizard Tool to extract the Extended ROM.
Now flash the OS ROM.
If you can flash the OS ROM Only (maybe someone can back-it up using the aWizard Tool) then you're done
Otherwise you need a way to reflash the extended ROM with the back-up you made earlier.
Mind you this is just theory now. An alternative would be to contact mamaich in the BA forums and ask him how he modified the Wizard ROM to use Extended_ROM on the Storage Card.
Good thing I'll have my BA to keep me running while I experiment with the Wizard!
PM me and I'll send you the tool I use to edit CAB files along with a description of how I get my settings into it.

I upgraded the ROM for the same reason - to take advantage of the the push mail with Exchange 2003 SP2. My experience is the opposite of yours however - just like with my BB, new mail arrives on my 8125 before its arrives in Outlook running on my desktop. In fact the new mail arrives on my 8125 even before it shows on the BB.

I just used this on my 8125 with the latest ROM. GPRS settings are fine, however I now have several useless accounts in the Messaging App: SBC, Earthlink and Bellsouth. I can remove the accounts but each time I soft reset they return. Can I remove these permanently?

Here is a version of the CAB that has the extra e-mail accounts removed.

If I've already used the CAB with the extra e-mail accounts what would be the process to wither undo that or to just remove the accounts I don't want to be there?
The push email with AKU2 is so cewl! From day one of installing it on my new 8125 I've been getting mail to it before my laptop running Outlook 2003 using RPC over HTTPS. I've setup several client firms with BB Enterprise servers and still preferred my Blue Angel. Even though the messaging wasn't instant it was still nice getting my tasks synced OTA with WM5. Now my Wizard is finally the BlackBerry Killer ....

Just delete the extra e-mails and use the new CAB file next time (if there is a next time)...

I appreciate your help, but I guess I'm confused. I assume you are saying use the other CAB after a hard reset? When I delete the extra accounts currently they reappear after every soft reset. Are you saying that I am stuck with the extra accounts reappearing after each soft reset until such time as a perform a hard reset?
Hey guys, I noticed at the beginning of this thread that someone mentioned unlocking their 8125 with Lokiwiz. I am with Tmobile and want the 8125 so I was going to purchase the device and unlock it with Lokiwiz. Does Lokiwiz unlock the carrier lock so a Tmobile sim can be used with the 8125?
Thanks..

Doesnt seem to work!
Hi
Just flashed my device with this ROM it doesnt seem to work, kept crashing.. had to reboot and reinstall T-mobile ROM ... stay clear !
Sorry I must disagree with the last statement I did mine about two weeks ago (oct 06) BUT I never install extended rom just pick cabs I need, mine seems faster and more stable than the old install
T Mobile skin remains!!!
Hello.
I have instaled this rom update but T Mobile skin is still in dial pad. I did as you write - reset before customizing. The other T mobile stuff doesnt exist so is ok. But this T Mobile skins for dial pad is awful. What can I do??

not sure how you managed that, the tmobile skin for the phone is displayed using bitmaps, all of which i have removed from the rom aswell as relevant registry entries enabling them.
You make me BRICK my device.

Guys dont install that crap.I was naive enough to install it.The device freezes on the start screen and as the device wont be able to sync again as the active sync doesnt spot it you device will get brick just like mine. Not even try to reinstall this crap will work.
You which posted this should be held responsable!!!
Please somebory out there tell me where can I get my device back on?

well youve done something wrong cos it works fine on mine and others.
with the phone off, hold down camera and plug in the sync cable. keep holding until the bootloader comes up. now you can install the original t-mobile package

Youve tried to install my rom on a AKU1 device. Clearly states in the first post that you need AKU2, which means on startup IPL and SPL should be 2.06 for it to work
Hiya. The device remains killed. It has gone from bad to worse!
The device remains dead!Repeat dont install it just in case guys!!!
Now I've bought an Wizard (Qtek 9100) with a broken screen for 50 quids and I'm going to use my LCD Screen on that device.Been told it's the same one.If it isnt gotta send it to the bin.
MDA Compact 2 Bricked Help...
Hiya
I've already decided to use my MDA Compact 2 LCD Screen on my Wizard device. But I noticed that someone has had the same problem while falshing it with a wizard room. What I'm asking now is very important to him. He'll be able to enter in the bootload mode by holding the camera and power bottom while the device is connected to the power charger. The big issue is: The device will be out of the bootload mode everytime it is taken out of the power. And no,that's not possible to put it into bootload mode while using USB connection,I dont know why.
So normally the problem is to get into the bootload mode.I've managed it.So now I can see just two ways out. One: reflash it using the SD card (there must be someone out there able to do it) or find a hybrid "usb/charger connector" in order to "fool" the device.I mean, a usb conector which has an USB and Power as well just like the one that Motorola uses to their Motorola A1000 device.
Regards
Luiz Santos
cos youve trashed the bootloaders by installing a wizard rom, an SD backup is the ONLY option to fix it, theres no way of uploading a rom with a cable now. also the SD backup will only work if the wizard rom you installed didnt contain bootloaders for a G4 device.
Hello .. thx for the OS ... works fine ... but one thing .. where i can change the softwarebuttons?
ups ... sry ... found it ..
What are the main changes that you have made to make this an unbranded rom?
I thought that all the branding was stored in the extended rom anyway, which hasnt been changed.
ive downloaded it but just want to find some more info on iot before i try it.
Also what cabs would i need to get the tmobile settings back for mms and gprs etc, but none of their ugly skins
Can someone confirm that my device is the right version for this ROM please?
MDA compact II

only a small part of the tmob branding is installed from the ext rom, mainly a different set of icons for the start menu, the rest was in the base rom. as far as i can remember, the branding i removed was
phone pad t9 input was replace with standard htc graphics from tmobs pink and grey
tmobs pink and grey dialler was removed, leaving the standard windows one
tmobile carrier logo removed from dialler
internet explorers 1st page has tmob stuff removed.
i recommend installing the following from the ext rom
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_EmailWizDB_PPC_TMOUK_060216.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP-Shorcut-MMS1-JAVA6XX-CV-VOICE-EmailWiz-TMO-051215.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_PictureVideo_reg_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_CVSDcpl_20060220.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_BrowserPerformance.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_Customize_TMUK_CHM_20402102.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_DiscoButton_8.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_UA_TMOEU_CHM_20602101.CAB
and then for tmobile users to install all tmob settings for mms, internet etc
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_Customization_TMUK_Charmer(AKU2.0 )_060414.CAB - sets up mms settings
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_Connection_TMUK_CHM_20602102.cab - tmobile gprs settings

Thanks for that, could you also tell me when to reset to stop the TM branding and where to find the cabs mentioned?
"i havent worked out how to insert a modified extended rom in the package, so you'll still need to soft reset at customization on first start to avoid tmobile crap then go in and install what you need."
/edit
Nevermind, just seen the repy above mine

Im not sure sorry, best one to ask would be dave.
Have you installed this rom and did it remove the tmobile branding on the phone dialer?
I made several attempts to install this cab:
NETCF.core.ppc3.ARM.Cab and each time, I immediately get installation unsuccessful. Why can't I install this? By the way, what does DHCP stand for?
Thx!
