Hi,
does anyone know if flycam SD is compatible with XDA I? They advertise it as being only for HPs but it seems to have the same interface? AR
wrong forum himalaya is xdaII and wallaby is xdaI
most likely you have a better chance of somebody knowing there
if it's SDIO then no it will never work
if it's not then maybe recall back a LONG time agoe a sd cam which was supprosed to work on XDAI but the price of it was prob more then one could get a xdaII for used these days

Just read some good news about SDIO. According to www.cewindows.net there is a rom upgrade for Ipaqs that make them SDIO compatible. http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/sdioupdates.htm Hopefully it is just a matter of time before a patch for the XDA is released as well. I also read that in windows ce.net there will be support for SDIO, so let's just hope it is possible to upgrade the XDA to .net.

Before everyone gets their hopes up: the SD port on the XDA appears hooked up to a custom HTC-built ASIC. Not saying upgrade is impossible, but if there is a future upgrade, it is likely to be very different from the iPaq upgrade.
Since HTC makes the iPAQ, is it not the same ASIC?

From what I read, it seems that the upgrade has little to do with the hardware providing the SD port as long as it supports the same basic api. Also, as HTC is making the Ipaq, it seems probable that the SD-chipset is not all that different between the two.
As far as I have read it the current change to allow SDIO is related to two things. First it seems mandatory to have a IRQ line connected to a GPIO line. If this hardware connection is not there someone suggested polling, but I doubt that is workable.
The second thing I've noticed so far all concrete examples were for the Xscale. There were also some indications this was a nessecary prerequisite.
So I'd say the chances for XDA are very slim.
Hi all, I am new to this, and hope this has not been asked befor but I Know the SD slot is not compatable with SD-IO devices, But dose anyone know it the Camera from The SPV will work, as they are the same connector and the chargers and sync cables are the same, Well saying all this i know if you just plug the SPV camera into the XDA it dose nothing, is it worth me trying to find the drivers for the camera that must be on the SPV somewhere
Any help or advise please
Thanks
John
Would be perfect!
This would be really cool!!
I always wanted a camera for my XDA and if the connector is the same I really hope that someone will develop the driver for the SPV camera!!
i done that with my mates spv camera i plugged it in my xda and it just didnt do nothing ah well hopefully one day someone will make a program to run it
hi, i've found this cam here http://www.gaborvision.com.tw/products/ViewTakeCM35c.htm
but im wondering if this works for an XDA 1? has anybody used this?
No it wont work with xda 1 becuase it is an sdio device which xda 1 is not capable of supporing, there is a camera available for xda 1 but I havent seen them on ebay lately so maybe discontinued.
Yep, it does work: I have the MC35C and it's quite a nice little device. Quality isn't great, but the app provided works very well. Although the website says it used SDIO, it also mentions MMC, and it does work with pure SD on the XDA1.
As I've since upgraded to an XDAII, if you want to buy it off me, let me know.
hey were u serious about selling your camera....?if u were let me know....message me privately!thanks....
Hello, since i searched tread about GPS, its said there no topic for it..so, i want to ask few question those who are expert in Gps.. where i can get gps datacard.. for the xda lli.. can the xda lli alpine accept gps datacard ?? any advice or thing to talk about the gps data card.. ( like memory card one... )..
thanks
Regards
Xosix
youll need an sd gps but personally id go for a bluetooth gps as it will use less power from the alpine and with some gps receiver hitting 25+ hours battery time id go that route my self if you really want the sd gps then go for somthing like the globalsat one
hye, thanks for reply.. anyway.. im from malaysia.. so, i have no idea where to buy gps items.. im new to gps thing.. do you know which is the best online site that just selling gps with good price?? sd gps the price will go around ?? and the bluetooth around if u know ?? thanks
Which part of Malaysia? There are shops that will sell Bluetooth GPS in Lowyat Plaza, in KL.
im in kl near to lowyat.. .but i dont really trust thing from lowyat.. .
I prefer a bluetooth mouse too because you need some space on a sd card for the navigation maps!
A simple explaining (I hope so ):
the Germany map for Navigon Mobile Navigator 6 is about 300 MB big and the most space you got on a gps card is about 256 MB I think! As you can see, it would be better if you buy a GPS mouse with an additional sd card with 1 GB minimum (better would be 2 GB)!
At eBay you can buy some GPS utilities! Look for a mouse with a SirfIII (Sirfstar 3) chipset, it's the best chipset on market at the moment! I don't know what money you have in Malaysia (I think Malaysian Dollar, I'm right?) but i payed for a GPS mouse with a Nemerix2 chipset 50 Euros!
I hope you will done it right for you, keep it up!
thanks for the reply and informations you gave me... thanks everyone.. .and its malaysian ringgit... okay .. but guys if you have more informations about gps..please reply.. thanks
What do you want to do with GPS? It interesting me!

Hi there,
I don't know if this is possible, so the first part of this thread is a question. The second part is an idea, that only works if the answer is yes.
1. Is it possible to dismount the current camera in the Tattoo and replace it with a different camera?
2. If so, we should try to find a camera which has accessible drivers, a low price tag, autofocus and maybe even flash(which would require a bit of casemodding). That way we could have new ROMs with working cameras and the crappy original camera would be replaced. That way we could kill two birds with one stone.
We could find several possible candidates, have a poll in the forum and then add tutorials for new users, so they know where to get the camera and how to put it in the device.
What do you think? And more importantly - Would it even work?

Nah, near impossible.
Actually a nice idea but VERY difficult. Only a small number of users would be possible to actually mod there devices, if this is possible in the first place...
Sent from my Tattoo using Tapatalk
And what about copy the stock camera app and driver for rooted android phons
Sent from my Tattoo using XDA App

Lol you think nobody tried?
Anyway its a cool idea but its hard for a regular user to do something like that...
Maybe rather a USB connected camera. The built-in will not work, so when we need a camera, we pull this mini-camera out of our pocket and connect it to the USB-port.
Someone who want starting a new firm? It's gonna sell!!

yeea but nothing bellow 12mp
It is interesting idea, but i don't believe a lot of people would spend money on tattoo - i'd rather buy a new android phone with better camera
Anyway, we now have almost fully workable camera, thanks to all developers!
