ROM Update with Vista, any possibility?

Hello,
since a couple of days I try to upgrade my Trinity with a new Rom, but I have no chance. I get this message Erros 260:Connection , so do somebody know how I can flash my Rom under Vista?It would be very nice, thanks a lot!

turn off usb-connection in windows mobile device center, and try again!
if it doesn't work, try "des bootloader", start it and try to flash again.
perhaps you need activesync 4 drivers for your device, i found them somewhere in this board

i killed vista and installed xp again....
such a bad os.... if i plugin my external hdd, system crashes immediately, that mobile device center doesn't store contacts ( !!!!!!!!! ) , so it killed all my contacts when i flashed my rom....

Vista in my eyes is almost perfect - never had any issue!
- using three external hard drives without any problem
- syncing with my Wizard (of course WMDC doesn't "store" contacts, it just syncs them with an Exchange server or Outlook - and it does it even better than ActiveSync)
- and all other stuff I did previously with XP (except ROM upgrading of my Wizard - but that's not a problem of Vista as there are already upgrade tools, we just don't have them so far cause no operator released any upgrade recently or the gurus here haven't been able to hack it to accept custom ROMs)

Hey can you tell me how to make my version of wmdc do what you say your does? As far as syncing the contacts and setting up my mobile email? I only had vista for about a week now and trying to figure it out; i was so dependant on XP but had to move on. Any help will be appreciated.

Actually there are no "tweaks" to make it do what is is supposed to do - it did it straight away! I have no idea where you have problems - WMDC has exactly the same functionality (and some additions to AS) and same options, just different interface. Just go to "mobile device settings" or whatever it is called (I am using the German version) and set it up to sync whatever you want to sync...
If it doesn't work try to delete the partnership and set up a new one...

Cant open attachments with WM 6.1

I have an unlocked Tilt I am running on the T-mobile network. I have managed to get some cooked roms on it, and they seem to run fine except one problem. With all the WM 6.1 roms i have tried, including the stock HTC rom (probably 4 or 5 total), I cannot open an attachment from email. It gives me the opportunity to download it, and it looks like it does, but nothing happens. I have hard reset, but this problem still persists. Right now i am running the stock AT&T WM 6.0 rom without the extra/trial junk it installs, because it does not have this problem, and i need this feature to work for my job. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Thanks in advance.

Problem solved. Sort of....
After extensive research into this problem, i finally found the solution. Thanks PaulW! It seems that this is an issue with WM 6.1 phones syncing with Exchange server that also has the citrix licensing server installed. The isapi_redirect.dll file in the Tomcat web server that Citrix Licensing Server installed is interfering with the activesync functions. when i disabled citrix licensing server and restarted IIS, all works as expected. Hopefully MS or Citrix will come up with a fix soon. I will post back if i find out something else. We have moved the licensing server to another machine temporarily as a workaround.

Remote Desktop

Hello everyone: I've just loaded the AT&T 6.1 Rom by NATF. It doesn't have the Remote Desktop software as the Dutty's Hybrid did. But I never got it to work anyways, because I didn't know how. Here are my questions:
1. Is there a cab for this software?
2. In order to make it work, do I need to have a server... or can I connect to my two home computers? I do have a "home network" where I can see the computers via the 2Wire router that I have.
If I can do this without downloading some web-reliant software (Go To My PC, Log Me In, etc.), that would be good.

although i have used Remote desktop a few times i struggle to get this one working.. quite odd

Vista or XP
I no longer use XP. So no help from me there. Remote desktop works great on my vista from my htc tilt aka kaiser. You do have to forward port 3389 for the computer you want to access (unless your doing it locally, then you can access any computer) Also select under remote settings "Allow connections from from computers running any version of Remote Desktop" That should do the trick. If you google it you'll find it here.

i use rdesktop all the time on my kaiser, over a vpn connection to a server to support people on the move. Works a treat. Although im always a VNC fan

yeah realvnc + realvnc for windows mobile works the best!

ActiveSync problem

here is my system:
- Outlook 2007 SP1
- Windows XP SP3 Home
- ActiveSync 4.5
here is my problem:
I used to sync notes, tasks, contacts and calendar with my pc. Since this night activesync gives me error 80004005 for anything i try to sync except notes.
When I first sync notes it shows a windows to I choose between merge from device or pc and any option i choose performs note sync. Tasks, Contacts or Calendar in any combination will result in a fail sync.
what i tried:
- remove device, reboot device and pc. Try to sync.
- repair my Outlook file with scanpst.exe.
- remove all my calendars and tasks. No luck.

...Tired of dont get answers I hard-reseted my device.
The nice surprise, sync worked.
So i installed 5 cabs in a row, rebooted the device and sync dont work again.
Well, the problem maybe in one cab. Removed each one and repet the test but the problem dont go away.
So I removed my device from Activesync list, reboot the pc and the device.
Now its working, i will investigate the problematic cab and post here.

After some stressing research I found the problematic cab.
It seems to be a incompatible between Dutty´s 2.9 MSVC and "Duttys All in one Cabs".
-Remove "Duttys All in one Cabs".
-Restart PC and device.
-Removed my device from PC´s ActiveSync list.
-ReSync.
No more problems.
If someone is experimenting the same problem please post some feedback. Thx!

I have the same problem as I did exactly the same as what you have described.
I didn't know that was the cause. I gave up and changed to CVSD version. No problem at all now. Thank you for verifying this....

Yes, I did.
I thought I have the Sync problem solved when I switched to CVSD. The problem is coming back after I install everything I need including "Dutty's All in one Cabs". I think, again, it could be due to "Duttys All in one Cabs".
Here is what I have done,
Flash CVSD, hard reset
install Chinese CE Star for Chinese Font / Input Support
Sync with outlook, no problem and very fast
install "Duttys All in one Cabs"
install TrackThisOutTracky (GPS trail tracking software)
install Duttys Compact Qwerty KBD
install Full Qwerty KBD default
install Tnyynt Full Keyboard Font Fix
install Penpower WorldCard Mobile
install GPS Test
install Skype
I cannot remember the sequence of installing all other software except CE star (I always do this first everytime I flash with new ROMs).

ActiveSync opens on background

anyway ' my problem is that ActiveSync runs from time to time on my TD
and i bellive eats my battery /
offcurse everytime disconecting from pc i kill that process ' and still it opens by itself latter on /
i hade installed alias ActiveSynckiller and sims that this does not help for me /
any sugestions ?

Which ROM are you using? Radio?

Sync problem with LAN
My HTC Diamond does not Sync while LAN cable connected to the PC or laptop... it only syncs when LAN cable is unplugged... I've always have to remove the LAN cable from the PC or laptop before synchronizing my device... I checked it on different PCs & laptops...but it gives the same problem... can anyone help??

BlackBerry Connect and 6.5 Cooked ROMS

Has anyone been able to use BlackBerry Connect at all with the 6.5 cooked ROMs for the Fuze/Touch Pro? I tried Taiseer's cab fix but it only worked until I soft reset after installing some software. Now it keeps saying Security Service died unexpectedly every time afterward. Has anyone had success?

I have the same issue and have been trying different ROMs as I didnt have it on the first 6.5 ROM I used, which was the last one of Monx.
In the mean time I've seen the "security service" notification on:

The trick is to change Aku value the prior to installing the BBC app..
in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Versions
make the "Aku"=".1.6.0"

I did that, as well as change the device ID to "TouchPro" but 1 reset and you get the "security service died unexpectedly"

I'm using 4.0.0.103.
You should have no issue using it on any 6.1 ROM. Install the cab, select what you want to synchronize next to your mail (calendar, contacts, etc.) over the air.
Than install the desktop client, make sure your PC is connected to your exchange server as well as your phone running bbconnect and provision your bbconnect client.

It should work, its running fine on my HD and Diamond (both on WM 6.5 latest builds) , I am using the latest BBC from here: 4.0.0.106

Using BBConnect 4.0.106 solves the issue that was present in 103.

I am using .106 on Anryl's 21232_1 WM 6.5 rom with Blackberry Connect Desktop 4.0.0.22 and I was having issues staying connected to the Blackberry Service ...
I haven't had aku issues since about 5 ROMs (2 years) back ... Simply changed the AKU to .1.6.0 as stated above and did a soft reset ... no more issues

This tweak works like a charm.
If you have BBC installed, Uninstall, edit the registry and re-install.

BIS vs. BES
Anyone managed to get this to work with BIS? I can only get it to work with BES.

I've installed 4.0.0.106 on wm 6.1 and I can't get a PIN or an IP.
Any advice?

Got it working on an Xperia X1a running V-Lite 4.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505214).
AKU to 0.1.6 and kept uninstalling and reinstalling. Would randomly get the "security service died" but now it works. No idea why. Sorry!

I've tried everything, I can't get it to connect to the blackberry server. I tried re-installed the orginal Rogers ROM and it it worked fine. I even tried the reg tweak and it didn't work.

Anybody get it running without changing AKU?

1. Change HKLM/Software/OEM
a. RomVersion = 5.02.405.2
b. OperatorVersion = 20771
2. Change HKLM/System/Version
a. AKU = .1.4.3
3. Soft Reset.
4. Install BBConnect, go thru screens, reset.
5. Launch BBC Settings & go to the utility tab, select "register now".
6. Connect to desktop, launch BBC Desktop & select "configure my device".
Always works, always.

tried that, didn;t work, still not connecting, but I notice when I click on register, the status says network availible then it changes to Network data tunnel then to not connected.
