OK I am lost here, which ROM should I need

Hi Guys, I am sorry but I could not read the forum since a long time, I also tried to read as much as I can this morning, thread on rom version, but i am Confused
Which rom I NEED ? since actually I have
ROM Version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM Date: 10/22/2004
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.126 WWE
It is a Qetk ROM WWE on a FRE Qetk
I would love to be up to date but could not figure out what rom to use
Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=81244#81244
looks like the only thing up can do is upgrade radio
your extended ROM is different from mine? you got a 162 and I got a 126, is there any big difference? Also regarding the Radio worth it to upgrade my Qetk?
Thanks
Daimaou
The way I understand it so far is that the version number of an exteneded rom is based on the carrier.
What I am saying is that just because I-mate has a Extrom 1.22.999
does not mean that it is higher than Qtek Extrom 1.22.111
all it says it that for I-Mate 999 would be a Higher version than I-Mate 1.22.555
What I have found out is that there are 4 types of cabs in the exteneded rom.
1) Upagrade and patches that build on the OS in this case 1.22.
2) Carrier settings, such as splash screens and MMS setings.
3) Free software such as zip and the PDF reader
4) Hardware upgrades like buuton9 which is only avalible on a Pocket pc that has a Hardware keyboard.
Thus my pratice is to leave the exteneded rom as is and cook it later.
Thanks so far since I don't have to complain of the present situation, I will leave everything as it is and wait for a new 1.XX rom

New and confused with my Blue Angel

You'll all have to excuse me if I appear a little confused.... I've only had my Blue Angel a few days and already it is driving me up th wall. I be going through the message boards day after day and now I'm unsure which way to turn with it. Configuration of my unit is as follows:
Orange SPV M2000 - Unlocked, I use both Orange and O2 sims in it.
Operator version: 5.31.1.124
ROM version: 1.31.00 WWE
ROM date: 12/13/04
Radio version: 1.06.02
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtRom version 1.31.124 WWE
Bluetooth version: 1.0.0 Build 3500
Windows Mobile 2003 SE: 4.21.1088
So far its faults seem to be
1. Not compatible with my Bluetooth car kit (nokia CK 7W).
2. Occasionally people are telling me that I sound really distant when making calls (when using it as a phone, e.g with to my ear - I don't do wired ear pieces)
Could anyone please recommend the upgrades I should be looking to use? By upgrading roms etc will a loose its unlocked ablity?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You can use the latest rom upgrades that are available i.e 1.40 Rom version. After upgarding the rom ur device will not be locked once unlocked it remains unlocked. all the blueetooth and other issues would be resolved after the rom upgrade.
The complete details of the latest rom are as follows:
ROM Version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM Date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.13.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.147
for the rom link u can have a look in the forum there are a couple of updates availble from different opereators.
cheers
jeet
Thanks for that, I've upgraded it using the imate PD2k 1.40 rom set. The unit seems to be functioning better already and it has got rid of some of the rubbish Orange had installed on it.
Now at:
ROM version: 1.40 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radion Version: 1.12.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.176 WWE
Bluetooth version 1.0.0 Build 3900
Windows Mobile 2003SE Version 4.21.1088 (build 15045.2.6.0)
Guess I'll just have to see how this performs........
Had fun trying to upgrade it, country ID error thing kept coming up but got there in the end using the advice from this site. I guess that must be something to do with my phone being unlocked? The only info the device data utility gave me was:
PH20B 0 B WWE E
Any way thanks agin for your help

Fair point.......... It's all there if you read in to it

QTek 9090 ROM's

Can some one tell me what the latest and greatest ROM's i can run on my device. I am running a Qtek 9090 on the BT Mobile (Vodafone) network.
ROM Version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio Version: 1.13.00
Protocol Version: 1337.42
ExtROM Version: 1.22.126 WWE
Since i successfully upgraded to ROM 1.40.00 WWE i can now no longer connect to a VPN using PPTP, i tried upgrading to Radio 1.13.00 this had made no difference.
I was wondering if there are any known issues with the ROM's that i am running, or if i am even running the latest / best combination of ROM's for my device.
Any help really appreciated.
Hope you know what you have in you 1.22.126 ext rom.
If you have left it alone on the CE upgrade to 1.40 your 1.22.126 ext rom could have patches that upgrade the BT as well as other files.
Thus these patches will in fact then downdrade the files on the 1.40 Rom.
(CE 1.22 roms had BT 1.35 or lower CE 1.40 had BT 1.39).
SO based on what you report I would expect you to have problems that it seems you have created for yourself.
Now If you have infact cleaned your Ext rom and added the patches that you need for 1.40 (which can be found on wiki)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_Patches_14x
you have an issue that has yet to be found with the 1.40 rom based on those reported in:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.40.00_Upgrade
Thanks for the reply, it sounds like i might be missing something big here, sorry for this - what do you mean by "cleaned your Ext rom"...? As far as i am aware i have not touched the ExtROM i just assumed that the PPTP issue was something to do with me not touching it, but i may well be very wrong :? Everything else seems to work just fine including BT and GPRS and Wireless LAN.
Thanks again!
Would sugest that you do some reading in the wiki kitchen.
Just to let you know BT is O2 not vodaphone!

Need to update?

Hi.
These is my current pda2k, and I'm wondering if I *really* need to update anything, and if I do, what with? I've tried looking though the site, but the instructions seem really puzzling to me!
I have ROM version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio version 1.12.00
Protocol verison 1337.42
ExtROM 1.40.176 WWE
Also, is it worth/possible to put in windows mobile 5.0 - I have 2003SE
Thank you! Matthew
Chances are VERY good that what you have now is a lot faster and more stable than any WM5 you could flash on your phone. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. I'm fortunate that I got 2003se back on my phone without any problem.

Qtek 9090 upgraded to WM5, ExtROM version 0.0!!

Hi all,
I'm a newbie in all those technical questions. Yet, I've read a lot of valuable things at this forum and decided to upgrade my Qtek 9090 using IvanV4R3_RAMDisk32_1.11.zip.
Before I had the following parameters:
ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.123 WWE
Now it has changed into the following:
ROM version: 5.03.02 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 0.0
Well, the device is operating but something tells me there's something wrong here...
Please advice what I did wrong - shall I update the ExtROM separately or what?
P.S. Oops, I've read somewhere here that in WM5 there's no ExtROM - maybe that's why the version is 0.0. Yet, I leave the question just to make sure this is right.
P.P.S. Sorry if this topic has been discussed somewhere, the intformation is so vast, I couldn't find that...
Ext-Rom is usually network or distributor-based customisation, such as O2's O2 Connect and O2 Active, HP's PhotoSmart, etc. Now, since this is an informal effort, there is no ExtRom
Thanx
OK, thanks for informing me!
I wonder if I ever need that ExtROM stuff then... Do you think it's useful and for what purposes?
Depends. Sometimes those "little extra tidbits" can help and be useful. Such as O2SMS Plus is sometimes useful, or O2 Active
some reading for a better understanding of extrom
