I upgraded my i-Mate PDA2k to an XDAIIs Firmware the O2 Asia one,
Lucky thing is, that it had an Optus profile, so I can now use GPRS (i never bothered to configure it for the PDA2K) as was a WWE version
One thing im confused about, is that it says on O2 Connect, that there is a new ROM Upgrade. I have the O2 Asia 1.40 Rom, so is there any new one out. Since I have a PDA2K Device, I can't register for O2,

Yes pls. I hope O2 releases this much needed patch upgrade which hopefully fix their inferior product to something that can be useful for day to day use.

I too was looking for it but so far none yet. The next best thing is to use the cooked rom and then reflash the ext rom.
I have a Dopod Blue Angel but i have last updated iMate Arabic ROM with O2 Asia ExtROM and the O2 splash.
Everything looks like an O2 but with updated software.

to the latest ROM 1.31 and Radio 1.10.0.
Would you recommend this upgrade and what would be the best way to do it.
I have a lot of experience with upgrading my O2 XDA II and working with it's ExtROM.
Just wanting to make sure I am doing it correctly before I jump in.

I've just bought an XDA IIs in Perth and brought it back to the UK. I've sucessfully upgraded it to 1.31 & 1.10.0 with the use of the O2 UK upgrade ROMs and the info on this forum (although this is an ASIA unit).
I'm presuming that you'll need to cook your ext rom as there does not appear to be a shipped ASIA 1.31 set (if you want to keep the auto configuration tool for the asain telco networks etc.).
You will also probably want to upgrade the Bluetooth drivers to the latest reliable stack (I believe this is 1.0.0 build 3900) and upgrade the caller ID software to v1.20 and MMS software to 2.0.0.16.

Looking for input from those who have already done this. I'm ready to go, currently on the latest O2 Asia ROM but having stability issues. Which way did you do it, was it successful and so on. Have been through all the wiki doco but want to hear from others before tipping over the edge!

How did you sort out the password issues? Were you able to get it working by using the editfix.bat technique with the xda3nbftool?
I would appriciate any help on the upgrade of this VPx.
I currently have a Vodafone VPx which runs on a WM2003SE.
I am unsure on how to upgrade this to WM5 as their seems to be no ROM for PH20B2.
I have tried PH20B but to no avail.
Here are the details of my device:
Model: PH20B2
Windows Mobile 2003 SE (v4.21.1008 Build: 14132)
Intel PXA23 400MHz
ROM Version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM Date: 10/22/04
Radio Version: 1.06.00

Could anyone help me or point me in the right direction, Vodafone no longer support this as it is now discontinued from their product list.

I tried the v1.3-TuMa WM5 ROm but found it too slow. I use my VPx as a Phone, a PDA. I surf and I listen to MP3's. All of this seemed too slow to be reliable with that ROM.
There is a new WM5 ROM being tested at the moment (Ivan R4) - suggest we wait till the bugs are ironed out of this and try again.
In the meantime I'm back on 2003SE (but with upgraded Radio and 1.42 ROM).

Sorry to be a royal pain, but I have bought myself an o2 XDA III phone and I'm looking for the latest o2 rom for it which is Xda_IIi_LaunchROM_v1.10.124.exe, all the links I have found no longer host the file
Does anyone have it that could upload it to the FTP site? or if not, does anyone know what the most upto date cooked/beta rom is? I updated my BlueAngel with 6.5 rom, but I didn't want to just assume it would work on my XDA IIi.
So if there is someone out there that could save me some time, your help would be really appreciated.

I used to have the link to the Irish O2 site (which Dee Dee gave me) which was the last to host the XDAIIi updated "Offical" bios but they seem to have stopped hosting it fortunately I still have the file so I have upped it to my Rapidshare account where it will remain.
