Hi
I just received a Xda2s ,from ebay and it was unlock. it works fine
now i would like to upgrade to 1.40 rom, do you think it will still be unlock
Thank you
If the "unlocked" you are referring to is the network lock then updating to a new CE rom will have no effect on this as the lock is in a separate area of NV memory.
Great thank you Bebbo
now i notice there is a few rom update available, whicth one would be the one for the xda 2s
Thanks again for the great support
you can check out the wiki for all the latest ROM updates for you device and how to install them....

or the link on the very top left corner of the forums titled
wiki.xda-developers.com that will break down everything you need to know...
i need a username and password to download from ftp
It's all in the WIKI

Does anyone have an MDAIII from TMobile released in the UK? I have a German MDAIII using an PDA2K ROM now and would love to put the TMobile UK English version ROM on it....
I have the UK T-Mobile ROM, but haven't worked out how to back it up yet.
Thanks for the reply....I'm not quite sure how you would back out an existing ROM. Does T-Mobile UK have a support website for downloading ROM upgrades and such?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/DumpRom
I sent an email to the developer to see if he could update the tool for the 128 bit header that the MDAIII has instead of the 64 bit header that of the XDAII and I.
You could try it as is though.
Anyone else have any luck dumping the full ROM from a UK T-Mobile MDAIII?
I'd like to get this crappy Imate ROM off my German MDAIII and load he latest T-Mobile UK WWE ROM...
Any and all help is appreciated!!
Same here. Someone must have one :|
I have a UK T-Mobile MDA III. If someone posts me a link to the required Rom dump tools and a quick walk thru or command line then i'll upload it.
Anything to speed up development on it as i really need it unlocked
Does anyone know if it would be possible to drop the T-Mo MDA III ROM into an XDA IIs?
I love the black case so much in comparison to the PDA2k and MDA III that I'd be willing to buy one and try it out. Of couse, there's also the issue of unlocking it if not already unlocked...
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Did you figure it out "gonesuper"?
Does anyone know if T-Mobile UK has a ftp site to download ROM updates like Qtek and Imate?
Nothing? If T-Mobile UK is selling the MDAIII through their business channels, where is the support URL to download software for it?
Hi,
I've found a site which describes how to backup the ROM to a SD card on an XDA IIs so presumably it would work for the MDA III? here's the link:
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1
If anyone is successful I would dearly love to get a copy as I'd like to swap my MDA but not let them know that I've been screwing with incorrect firmwares!
Cheers, JDH
Now that the MDAIII is listed on T-mobile UKs website, does anyone know the web address for ROM downloads on T-mobile UKs websites?
Dagger ga, I am currently complaining to T-Mobile UK about this very issue and there is another guy in the same boat. The MDA III still have the bluetooth and mic issues and although T-Mobile Germany has seen fit to post an patch/upgrade (including blackberry) the support in the UK is non existent.
I would urge you to add your voice to mine and contact T-Mobile UK customer services/technical support. Hopefully at this rate they have got to start to listen to all of us. The non existent support is scandalous for such a high end device.
Incidentally I have written another post as expansys.com on this to the other person who has these issues. See the forum: imate/PDA2K if you are interested.

Hello,
The best thing to do is install another ROM eg, i-mate ROM, and then install all the T-Mobile Extended ROM files from backup...
To backup the extended ROM...
1) Download this file to your device and run it! - ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Extended_ROM_Kitchen_1_22/Tools/xda-developers _Unlocker.CAB
(this will installed the extended rom tools to your device.)
2) Under "Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "unlock" then click ok, next click "unhide" then ok! After this reset your device.
3) With the device ActivSync'd to your PC, browse to your device from you PC and you'll now see a folder called "Extended ROM" in the main "Device" window. In here are all your extended rom files. Copy ALL the files in this folder to your computer - DO NOT DELETE OR MODIFY ANY FILES IN THIS FOLDER (unless you know what you're doing)!!!
4) Go back into "Start\Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "lock" then click ok, next click "hide" then ok! After this reset your device.
5) ALL DONE - you should now have a copy of your extended ROM files.
Hope this helps...

Thank you for the advice you have offered. Unfortunately I am a complete novice and don't even know how to get hold of the latest Imate ROM.
If you have the time could you PM me with some further details on how to download the new ROM.
Apologies for being a pain and thanks again :?

Thanks to both DOM and the author of the above post.
I have got some reading and learning to do. Thanks for your patience for someone who is completely new to this whole xda world. No doubt I will have lots of questions along the way so I will keep this message short.

t-mobile rom UK
guys i need t-mobile mda3 rom is any one can uploud for all the xda user pls
hi,
im very new with smartphones, actually its my first one (upgraded from samsung d600) i must state that before opening a new topic i did some search and wasnt able to get a clear view of how to do things...well that why im asking here for little guidance from fellow users with much more experience with this device...
well my main problem is that i have buy the device over the net and its in german language...after going thru forums i understand that can be fixed by updating it with an english rom, so i did register myself on qtek website got the latest wwe rom, thn i have notice that people have suggest to use the "Lokiwiz02b" unlocking tool before doing the update, my question is after i used the "Lokiwiz02b" tool how will i know that my device is unlocked? its already sim lock free...if its possible someone could layout a step by step guide? coz i dont want to end up with a dead qtek 9100...
my second question is that do i need to have a firewall and antivirus on the device? is it important ? if yes then which one ?
well in the end i would also like to add that its a great forum but i would have liked to see a "pinned" post for the first time users explaining step by step how to update the rom on there device...would have answered a lot of questions automatically...
thanks,
i||uSi0n^
Guide is in the lokiwiz thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796
For other roms the CID unlock is important not the sim(un)lock!
there ist never a warranty for devices, all you do is at your own risk!
And i don't think AV and Firewall are necessary.

thanks but i had that thread in the fav. list...well it seems there is a way to do the unlock thing on newer version of qtek, get an older rom install it and then unlock n update to latest rom...what is still not clear is how to update rom...i like the way "lokiwiz" explains all in clear n simple way...can some'1 just put up step by step instrusctions on that rom update too? would be nice!
well here is what i have understand from reading a lot of threads on this forum:
ROM i plan to update to: 186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship
1) use "lokiwiz" as described in above theard
2) i plug the device in to USB and let ActiveSync to start (making sure i have more then 50% of batt. life on device)
3) then i run the executeable ROM upgrader from my pc
4) after the ROM is installed, the device will reboot
and thats its right? please correct me if im wrong.
one more thing that is unclear to me is what are the other things like "Radio, Protocol, Ext. ROM, GSM" etc ? are these all updated with the ROM update?
thanks,
i||uSi0n^
i-mate and qtek ROM's
Just to add my two cents to this. I have tried both the qtek and the i-mate 2.x roms and find that the i-mate one is less problematic.
Also, after much forum reading, it seems that people are having more issues with the qtek rom then the i-mate.
Just something to keep in mind.

Charmer goes wiki
A wiki page has been opened for the Charmer
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Charmer
Please look here before asking questions on the forum.
All users can edit this page so you can all add information thus making it a better source of information.
It has the structure of the Blueangel wiki so you can use that as template.
Latest AKU T-Mobile UK
I am clueless in ROMs and stuff; However I have an MDAcII, wanted to check if it was up to date ROM wise (its got the 2nd version of T-Mobiles ROM on it) and I noticed today that on T-Mobile UK website they offer this for updating ROM:
RUU_Charmer_38221_382116_026921_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.exe
(this is on :
http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/dm_compact2_sw.html)
This doesnt line up with the Wiki entry for Charmer's latest official ROM which is shown as being:
June 2006 - WWE AKU2 - T-mobile UK. RUU_Charmer_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship and which is thwe one on my MDA at present
Can anyone who knows tell me if this latest official ROM update is equivalent of AKU3? I googled for the new file name as shown above and nothing came up...
Thanks in advance...
Lesage UK
Thanks Finally
I have just used Lockwiz3 (after trying all the others ha haha)
And now my T-mobile (UK) MDA Compact II is able to use a vodaphone SIM
THANKS TO All WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE
Hi all,
Sory if this sounds too easy for some- but I've been searching the net and this forum for the latest UK TMobile ROM. Off the net some of the links don't work- same as here one of the links pointing to the latest ROM does not work -
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Tmobile/RUU_Prodigy_2210206_109_21911_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.exe
My ROM is 2.21.2.6 WWE, ROM Date 3/9/06.
Is this the latest? If not where can I get the latest? I think its 2.26.10.2 WWE?
My vario has started crashing these days especially after sending or receiving texts.
Thanks
sorry forgot to mention- I did look at the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades
no one knows?
Is this too easy a question? Am I searching wrong? Even if anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be grateful!
Hey check this thread and look in G3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
Thanks for that.
I did look at many of those posts earlier. I'm not trying to install another operators ROM or any cooked ones- just the 'official' T Mobile UK one, that is if they have an update to the one I already have.
I also asked T Mobile staff, but they gave me a blank look!
Try Offical AKU3.3 WWE.It's best ROM!Better than any WM5 or Wm6 ROM.(also it's WM5 ROM).
Nice one!
Will try that out!
Thanks
Hello folks just picked upa used MDA wizard g3 love the phone been reading here and WOW information overload LOL. I did manage to find out i have a g3 ipl.2.26 spl.2.26 gsm 02.47.11 os 2.26.10.2 Now here comes some questions
-I need to get all the settings for Rogers so i can use my data can someone point me in the right direction?
-It is sim unlocked how do i know if it's cid unlocked? As this came to me unlocked.
-Is it a big improvement running wm6 I was going to try one of the TNT roms especially the Touchflo
-does anybody recommend any roms in particular?
Thanks Jean
Hi Jean,
welcome to forum and prepare those braincells for some more overload
You can know a lot about your device by getting WST (Wizard Service Tool) from the link in my signature; use "Device Info" and "CID Actions" then.
There's an utility called "Network Wizard" which comes in many cooked WM6 ROMs that automatically applies the network settings. I'm not sure if there's a cab file which will allow to install individually and if Rogers is already included in the providers list. You must look for that.
I believe it's an improvement to use WM6 and i'm a big fan of TNT 5.0 ROM. I'm running TNT 1933 now but it's a bit buggy still.
Some people though, like my fellow man dferreira, believe that WM5 still has a lot to offer and thus he cooked a ROM that many have become fans of. It's a WM5 with a LOT of features usually present in WM6.
hope it helped
cheers
thanks for the welcome
Thanks again for the welcome can't wait to get it configured so I can get rid of this pearl.
This wm5 you recommended to me what is it called? Is thee a link?
Thanks Jean

If you want to make it in this forum you've got to get used to search and read.
Check the stickies and read the wiki and you'll get all you need
The WM5 ROM is in one of the most replied threads, right in the first page of this section (called "WM5 SE rev4.0")
Thanks for the help I ended up finding it last night and installed it I must admit i was impressed with the touchflow and all the nice features. I will tyry to search before i ask i managed to unlock the cid and load all the software from information found here. Thanks again Jean
