i'm still nervous about overclocking my WM6 rom. especially since over clocking molski's rom always left my touch screen unresponsive even at the slightest clock speed change. it got so bad that i had to hard reset on a business trip and i lost every number and note i had hundreds of miles from home and no computer to sync to.
so what are you guys clocking at?
i'm oced to 240. Everything has been fine so far.
I'm running 299 for 1 week now without any problems, on PDAviet3.
299? hmm well im at 252
299 Mhz all the time with batterystatus.
yup at 229 with battery status also. and have not noticed any problems at all. what can i say, im a speed junkie
wat would u say would be an average overclock speed? dont wanna burn out the battery..
I'm running 230 for 3 days now without any problems, on PDAviet4.

Did you notice any speed increase for just overclocking to 229 or 230MHZ? I didn't see much difference even at 264Mhz. 299Mhz is the minimal speed I can accept. By the way, I didn't see any battery consuming difference between 199, 264 and 299Mhz.
for people with orwells WM6 rom.. wat overclocking speed are you running?
i am @ 273.

my stupid @$$ believed this post and tried that setting and i had to hard reset. ROFLMAO
i'm keeping what works for me this time 247 mhz
Yea also had some problem at 299 but after leaving the device for a few mins I was able to set it to a slower speed and reset.
Always remember that just because one device can do 299 doesn't mean all of them can. There are so many little variances with cpu technology that its not unusual to find 2 cpu's from the same devices that have totally different overclocking capability's.
Our devices must have been made on a Friday henc the fact that we cant go as high as 299
Jules
well i guess that may be it. i have a cingular 8125 cid unlocked and sim unlocked with a g3 chip. and i have always used 260 on battery status at the most. but then i tried 299 and i just love the speed. ive noticed a difference and i like it.i really dont see why you should have to hard reset your device just because of overclocking. thats what i like about ilauncher and pocket plus. it offers that safe mode.
heres the proof.
hi there deviusdragger
what rom is that your using? looks nice.
I'm on farias at the moment

Im on the WM6 rom. just with WA2 and phonealarm and ilauncher. so far its been clocked at 299 for some days and ive had no problems at all.
cpuscaler
HI, with CPUscaler i keep 247MHz standard, and CPU scaler goes up to 312MHz without any problem YET....since days...
Thought I would share, just so people can see that the Kaiser does get a good throughput as long as in a supported area.
Maybe I missed something in the board, but for me a working hsdpa is normal...
Sweet, I wish they would crank up the speed by me. 1mb/sec is still pretty good for me.

I was not saying HSDPA was not working, just people have been saying they are getting sub 1Mb/s speeds, I was just showing that proper high speed is available if you are in a supported area was all.
i cant seem to do this, the highest i can overclock it to is 260 mhz using battery status, before it crashes that is, how is it that i see some of you guys actually getting it to 273 mhz? any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Many units have display issues at 260mhz. My setting is 247mhz with a boost of 299mhz, I can tell when it's boosting by a tiny bit of screen shift.
It depends on the specific CPU. There are imperfections on the materials and such. Which is why you have intel CPUs at 1.6ghz and some at 3ghz. A lot of these are the same but not all can reach 3ghz so they're sold as 1.6ghz CPUs.
Yeah what ivan said is exactly right. It's basically luck of the draw with OCing. I've definitely run into the same issues with overclocking desktop cpus. You even see this principle with cars. Two cars of the exactly same make, model and year can drive completely different, get different gas mileage, and get different amount of horsepower gains with the exact same mods....Not to rub it in but my wing is stable at 286. But I run 273 just to be safe
Mine is stable at 299 it is pure luck as everyone is saying. I use CPU Scaler with perfect results. Sorry to hear your bad luck bud.
Mine goes up to 299
But I found 273 to be the "ZEN" setting.
Yes 273 is the "Sweetspot"

EDIT:
Nvm I'm trying the PDAViet rom right now...DAM its fast!
I Thinks Itjes rom will be much MUCH faster ^^
I'm at 273 and it works fine. 287 also works for me and I've run this for more than a week w/o problems, but now I'm running 273 to be on the safe side.
Does it brick your device if you keep it too high for too long? Or will it just reset?

Phone will freeze and require soft reset. Just hope you don't set OC on wakeup in BS cause then you will have a problem

oc on wakeup is NO problem.......
i allways set it to be overclocked when i turn on phone...
BUT NEVER set OC after SOFTRESET!!!! then you get a bootloop when it is set to high....

yeah that's what i meant. thx for the correction
not one of the lucky ones
I have had my wing overclocked to 247 for quite some time now and figured I'd try to speed it up a little more. I tried 273 and 260 and both scrambled my screen so I guess 247 is where I'll be keeping mine set at.
My first wing held steady at 299
My second wing runs great at 312mhz

and pretty soon you'll be getting your 3rd wing?:
I've had my clocked at 286MHz for the past 3 weeks; It's been running well and I haven't experienced any system or app hiccups.
how is it possible?
how is it possible that you guys are getting your wings to overclock >247??

Each CPU is slightly different. The microscopic imperfections make a big difference.
I am at 287 with out any problem. 299 works fine for all my apps except for slingplayer...
I have just been given a Imate 9502 on a plan( ok i have to pay for it over a period of time)and as this uses the same chipset as the the TytnII i thought this would be interesting, also keep in mind the Imate 9502 uses a 640x480 VGA screen..have completed some benchmarking using VSbenchmark..
Imate9502 TYTNII
Graphic test1 1717 1101
Other test2 1913 1875
Jpeg test3 3098 2323
Games test4 1099 1278
Sound test5 1944 0668
Total Score 1954 1449
Very interesting indeed, only score which TytnII wins on is the Games test. But as the 9502 is running at higher res than the TytnII and getting higher scores does this mean Imate have fixed the qualcomm issue????..
movie play back is a breeze stock... will run tests later using diff players
Just from those numbers I'm pretty sure nothing is really fixed. Check out the score difference from the P6500 to the Kaiser
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381254
I've seen variation even between Kaisers of a few hundred points just depending on ROMs, software and a myriad of little things that can affect the overall score.
Are you taking into account that the res is double that of the TytnII,also according to VSbenchmark's web page, the scores that the 9502 got are lil over mid way compared to a tytnII having a reported score of 1444 admitedly there was a KAISER on there with a slightly higher score but it still wasnt anywhere near the 9502.
The reason i reported the TytnII score and not the KAISER from VSbenchmark was MY TytnII got sim Scores.
Another point of interest is the 9502 has VGA out, which i hooked up to the phillips 50in LCD and works a treat.
also will down load SPD benchmark and will report those scores
Technically, the resolution is 4 times that of the Kaiser if you care comparing pixel count. There are 4 times as many pixels on a 640x480 screen than there is on a 320x240 screen.
Hi mav42,
Could you please report what free program memory (RAM) you get immediately after a soft reset. In some reviews I have read it is just over 32 MB which in my opinion is very low for a 128 MB installed device. For example my TyTn II gives close to 70 MB of free RAM immediately after a soft reset.
Shall be obliged for your response as I am seriously considering getting one myself but the memory issue is holding me back.
Regards
Are we sure that benchmark is even measuring the kind of stuff the Tytn II is known to be missing? I thought someone pointed out, the last time comparisons were drawn with these benchmarks, that the accelerated hardware wasn't actually being tested at all.
Someone (who knows what they're doing) needs to get hold of a rom for the 9502 and start analysing it... Chainfire, where art thou?

Im sorry Im just a idiot heres me thinking that both these devices use the same chipset doh....wait a minute they do.......all i did was compare these device's using the same benchmarks at the same time to see if there was any major diff, report it and work from there....and in this case there is a diff .also even if stated by Bong that these benchmarks dont measure accelerated hardware theres still a diff between these 2 devices using software rendition

I meant no offence, sorry it appears I've caused some. My question was genuine - if the benchmark doesn't test the imageon features etc, then that would explain the relatively small difference in the tests, even if the 9502's video is miles better in use.
I'm well aware of the shared chipset, and that's why I'm so interested in a developer getting hold of the ROM and extracting any drivers they can.
Can you post a TCPMP or Core player video playback benchmark? Thanks

ok after doing a soft reset
total:84.41mb...........in use 50.26mb..........FREE 34.15mb
hope that helps
This is exactly why we need a 9502 section on here! From what I have read so far (only on mobile phone consumer forums mind, so no techies), the major issues are:
1. Complete lack of free RAM meaning only one or two apps can be run simultaneously.(Unconfirmed how much this issue is related to Telstra ROM/bloatware).
2. Is not natively SDHC compliant and although the WM6 SDHC drivers work, they disable the wifi functionality of the device.
Both of these things I think could be remedied by XDA-Dev geniuses.
I just want to know does the 9502 suffer from the I-hit-a-button-but-nothing-happens-unless-i-hold-it-down-for-a-few-seconds-then-it-clicks syndrom that the Tilt has?

I have not come accross this problem..........so far....
aww man. if that SOny X1 wasn't coming out, I would buy the 9502. That and not being VGA is my only complaint with the Tilt I have. I miss the VGA and I can't stand it how sometimes the screen or key just wont register presses unless you hold it down.

Sony X1 doesn't have a jogdial and OK button on left side, I guess all TyTN users got used to have that... 9502 does have those
Is there going to have a Imate 9502 Section?
I too holding a imate
I would really appreciate if somebody could post the XIP and some of the other graphics related dlls (DDI.dll, dependencies, etc). ROM dump would be nice.
So far, I have the 9502 ahi2dati.dll from some other thread and it's the same as the KS20 so that's a good comparison point, depending on how you want to look at it.

Mine is 498, but as I remember I had a highscore of 512 before resetting the scores.
Here we go...640 on megashift, 506 on shifter(with 2 games). That is after my last rom flashing. Very sad!
1571 on HTC universal
Megashift is the mode I like most. I don't like the continuous mode. I play it on my Universal. Last score while I was having my coffee just now was 954.
Megashifts seems to be better for more score...
Standard 1178
700 something or other
720 on my Uni
just around 700...
mine was 802
I remember seeing 6000+ on my phone on megashift Not my score though...
highest ever was 1868...waiting at a doctor's office...
my highest ever score was 1726 until my girlfriend beat be and got 2120
both on megashift
After I checked the record. It's 545(God!)......So who can give me some tips about this game....need immediately
610 on my wizard
