I am a very organized person and have orgainzed all programs nicely , using cabinstal on my sdcard under programs/sub folder ,now when using wm2005 even after using cabinstal and selecting destination as a subfolder on sdcard an internal installation menu pops up asking me where I want to install the .cab either on device or storage card ,on selecting sdcard it installs it in the root only

Today i just flashed my phone and put newer ROM,
so as i start now to install over again iGO MYWay 2006+ navigation software i would like to use previous settings with old POI's i had before.
Those settings and all files i saved on my SD card Storage card which wasn't deleted during ROM flashing off course.
So, now when i go again to install iGO he always automatically install it into My Device/Program Files where he puts in folder called 'iGO 2006' and inside is only one file called 'igo' and when i start application it opens normally softare but with defauld settings and can't force application to 'work' with settings i have on my Storage card!
Please help me with suggestions what to do?!
I tryed to copy those 'igo' file from 'my device' to 'storage device' where all those old settings are, but than won't even start navigation software
actully, what could maybe solve the problem is how to force kaiser to install iGO software on storage card, not on my device ?!
noone? please, i'm desperate
i did it! need to copy those files from computer (which i had copy before flashing), not from storage card (those files which need to be on device)
and now everything working well!
For no apparent reason following a reboot yesterday, I am given notification that my "SD card is blank or has unsupported file system". (This is the internal sd card containg all apps and downloads etc . . )
If I touch this, I only have the option to reformat.
I cannot remount card using System, Storage etc.
Using "My Files" or "Root Explorer", I can see all the folders and files - nothing is lost, and the phone plus all apps are working perfectly. I can even delete folders and files on the card - but I cannot "Mount It" I even tried mounting and remounting using CWM recovery.
Any help would be wonderful !!

I had the same issue. Try to copy all the folders etc onto another place, which you can clearly access without your PC.
Then format your SD-Card and move the files and folders back to the original place.
I think thats a JVQ bug.

Hey guys, there is a script on here to swap the note's internal for external but when I did it with my 64gb micro sd I couldn't install ANY apps, the playstore, seeder, traingle away the APK'S wouldn't install for me, i even backed up and restored my apps from titanium backup using the android emulator for PC http://www.bluestacks.com/ and it didn't work, here is what I did for this alternative method.
Download http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2064536&d=1372032733
Downloaded the zip,
extracted the file,
launched my file explorer,
copied the file to etc/init.d
then went to permissions and changed the mount settings,(from read only)
then pressed on the file which i extracted from the zip and selected permissions,
then i selected read, write, execute and selected the first row and checking first and last in second and third row
then rebooted
(thanks to @cesc & @buhohitr also)

Cache is not affected,
special thanks to @pathuri97 who created the script

To rectify the double sd card issue just unmount sd and mount... it'll appear as it's supposed to...

Hi
I have the Samsung galaxy S Advance (DULP8) and I want to root it. I followed the steps to root but when i copy the root.zip into my external memory card and then go try to flash that via stock recovery(update via external storage ) i don't see it ? in fact there is stuff that dosent belong to me like some song folders and such
I even tried copying the file in internal and external still no luck . I had the device earlier and it was running gingerbread then it got messed up and i sent to Samsung to repair they repaired it and returned with jellybean 4.1.2 installed :highfive:
I don't know what to do i am so frustrated and cofused about where the hell does the folders come from which i have no clue about ?
Also in the storage in settings there is three tabs
1.Device memory
2.Internal Storage
3.Sdcard
When i select update from external storage in recovery it dosent even go to my external sd ?
From recovery choose "install zip from external sdcard" don't use update.

Is there install? Or apply update from external storage?
Ok, I did not use stock recovery for a long time - I do not remember what is exacly. If you do not see anything from "update from external storage" you will need to REPARTITION your SD card. This is not formating, this is erasing partition and creating it again. Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
You will lose data from it, so I suggest you to backup it to a computer.
Sometimes you pasted your zip on a folder that is down below than those that stock recovery displays
So what you have to do is: go to your file explorer (personally I use ES file explorer) and enable display of hidden files, then some folders with . will appear so try pasting the zip on one of those folders
If stock recovery doesn't show anything when apply updates is pressed, then you'll have to do what shut_down said
Stock Recovery does show things in External storage

You need to put root.zip on EXTERNAL SD. It is not shown in INTERNAL.
This might work but first you need to backup all your data: from ext-sd and from usb storage.
Then factory reset you phone. After that format your ext-sd with sistem file "FAT32" . When done with that put only the "root.zip" on the sd.
After all above is done try to install the root file with stock recovery.
P.S If this doesn't work you might be stuck on the stock JB for a long time.

Are you tried internal storage?
Hi all ...
After searching fo rthe same .. Found that no answer is available to increase the application memory which is 0.96GB (Default depend on the ROM you are flashing) , I have found this way my self. Pre-requisites are same rooted, SU binary installed, an SD Card, SD Card Reader & Attention
1) Initially clear the whole SD card after mounting it on your PC (I mean Format -OU WILL LOOSE ALL DATA, BACKUP IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING REQUIRED)
2) Download MiniTool Partition Manager Google or get it here
3) After installing. find the SD card in the downloaded application.
4) Delete all the existing partitions
5) Now you can see the SD Card as Unallocated Space
6) Right click on that and hit Create Partition and select Primary and FAT32
7) Now you have to right click the same and select resize.
8) In that leaving 1GB or how much you want for application memory.. just leave that amount of space and select OK.
9) Now right click the left out space of 1GB or how much you have selected and hit create partition.
10) By default it pops a mesage, igone it and make sure you select Primary and FAT32 file system and then Apply
11) That's it... go ahead and hit apply changes at the top left of the window and wait till the process completes.
12) Now Place the SD card in to the phine and install Link2SD through play store.
13) After opening it.. it asks to select the file system to which it has to look up for.. Select Fat32 there.
14) It pops up a window for restarting which will fail.. Just restart manually...
15) After restart if you open Link2SD, it will not ask you for selecting the file system again .This is the proof for confirming that everything was working fine. Now hitting the options button while in Link2SD app brings up the settings menu in which you can select the default installation location to external and notifications settings to disable.
Thats'it. If my steps are confusing.. refer to our friends thread for Lnk2SD tutorial under Droid Section with screenshots.here.
But remember carefully that in the 8th step instead of ext3 you need to select FAT32 .
Thanks XDA... If you guyz find this helpful, please leave thanks
