T-Mobile 1.31WWE new ROM available?

Is T-Mobile 1.31WWE new ROM available?
I am not a techie, please help:
Using GetDeviceData.exe (wiki tools) I see (from DeviceData.txt):
PH20B 0 B WWE E T-MOB101 1.12.00 0 0 1.22.168 1.00.00 00.00
My extROM seems to be Italian, I need the English One as well.

If T-mobile new ROM is not available yet, is there a way to install from Asian O2 (available and downloadable)? I ALWASY GET COUNTRY ID ERROR

I heard that even xda tools cannot overcome the new encryption barrier which was incorporated into 1.31 ROM XDAIIi upgrade

hi, i have the exact same german make as the example in the link you gave has:

getdivicedata.exe gave me the same thing,
i downloaded the same files in the links, and used the same fix.bat
the dos screen seemed to have fixed the files. but then i ran the baupgradeut.exe and it still gave me the country code error. i followed everything.
my only mistake was i started off with 1.12 wwe (came with the phone when i bought it off ebay) and tried to upgrade to 1.22---but the only on that worked was the german one---so no i got german 1.22 and i can't understand a thing. jeez,
but the instructions didn't work, anyway you can post your finished upgrade rom, that you used, so all i have to do is download and run the program?

Look if you get a country code error then you have a country code error, its just that simple.
What devicedata shows you is what it finds on the phone, now if somebody flashed it before you got it of ebay, then that is what you get. It is maybe not what it was shipped as.
The German t-mobile is only sold as GER and has a QWERT keyboard. T-Mobile has sold a WWE version. (in other countires)
You are saying that yours was WWE, well WWE and GER are not the same.
So if you used the fix bat in the example like you said, then you tried to tell the device that it is GER and thus got a country code error.
I fail to understand how flashed it with a german version (which is not in the instructions of the posted link).
SO after all that, What do you want to do?

it was flashed befor i got it, i think in australia, with wwe 1.12.
and my dumb ass flashed 1.22 in german.
darn.
so, i'm lost and surfing aimlessly thru the internet for a solution. i alrady racked up a good 15 dollars in long distance bill to england today. i wll probably call germany tomorrow. but i must persit. lemme know if you OR ANYONe, has any ideas., thanx.

Ok a reacp of what I understand.
You have a German MDA III with a qwertz keyboard. (that you got from bla bla).
You flashed it with a GER T-mobile rom using the ship.exe (and no fix.bat) which proves that the op and country code are good.
Its now in German and thus no good to you.
You are now trying to flash it with any WWE rom and get a country code error. This includes the I-mate 162 of wiki, which you have followed the steps to the letter and had no results.
Based on this my conclusion is the follwoing.
Your new GER rom has the new encription which means that what ever is checked is found at a different place than before thus the Country code error.
To prove this you need to run the Fix.bat against the GER rom and see if you get a header error (checksum or password). This in a OPEN dos window to beable to read it. Post your results if only for information reasons.
In the mean time I would redo the Imate 162 flash, drop the device number in the fix.bat and swap the postion of op and county code. (this is a hunsh never was able to prove it).
Post the name of the rom you used the fix.bat (relavant parts) and what ever you get as a message.

i started another thread, with COUNTRY CODE error, that outlines everything i did. maybe i didn't use the 162. i will try that now.
can you upload your modified files that you used? or email them to me, or exchange through im? please let me know, thanx.
i the original 1.12 and flashed that, and at least i have english now. but a german 1.22 external rom, lol.

hehhehh, if anyone is bored enough to find my last 5 posts, you will find that, no only did i misflash my blue angel to german, but i didn't know how to fix it, and didn't know how to manage cab files.
i had a very limited understanding of my $800 cell phone.
because of this website, i found the only working firmware shipper, 1.12, and now i have flashed to 1.12, with and external cook of german 1.22, and wwe applications packages. i know how to upgrade the radio and bluetooth files, but don't see a need yet, the german 1.22 is working better than the stock 1.12 i had before. I'm content

how to use, manage external rom and cab files
downloaded a wealth of apps and knowlegde

Yes it is - I read on another forum that someone recently got a Universal (MDA Pro) from a T-Mobile store in the UK with the new ROM on it.
Hope they will soon be posted on the T-Mobile Website.
Could you copy it onto a storage card and post it on the ftp server?

I found these instrcutions:
Download aWizard 1.3b2
Run it, run the RAPI server using the 'e' command, wait till it starts, unlock the CID using 'u', then you can backup using the 'b' command, give it a name to backup to, and wait 15 or so minutes and it'll backup your GSM, OS, and Extended roms.

I'm an ICT network tech and picked this lil' beauty out as my next upgrade. Wanted Vario II but it'll be out too late. I was all set to put the QTek ROM on it till I noticed the revision date!
It's a lovely piece of kit, and I've only had it for four hours!!... hehehe

it is a great device really - I jumped on it as soon as it was released on TMobile last November. You won't be disappointed!

I've been using the T-Mobile USA test rom for the past week or soo...

Rom Date: 4/17/06
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
Not had any problems with it up to now - perhaps TMUK will wait for this to pass the testing process before they post upgrades on their website.

No prob at all..... I'm keen to hear what people think about the new ROM, because I don't have anything to compare it to!

I must be an idiot. I just got my Vario so it has this ROM on it. I did the camera speckle and brightness fix, and apparently my picture quality has went down from when it first started. It might just be my imagination though....

I've read the wiki - And although it tells you HOW to flash, the guy is asking for a Vodafone ROM.
I'm also looking for a vodafone rom and am finding it almost impossible to find. The one in a recent thread is actually a Qtek 9090 rom.

I know you are looking for a rom.. All the roms have been removed..
Heres an idea.. go to google and type in vodafone rom
maybe you will find a link to one there.....

I'm actually looking for a fully Vodafone-branded rom. I've only ever found one of them - and it was from Vodafone DE, not ideal for me.
I'm well aware the rom archieve is gone, I actively follow the site! But the fact is - there WASN'T a vodafone branded rom on it start with that was english!

Why do you need Vodafone ROM? Just use the newest 1.42 from T-mobile

Not meaning to be funny or condescending... however....
I just did a quick google search..
Using these keywords.. Vodafone 1620 Rom
And guess what?? I found 3 roms within 3 minutes... in English...
How did you find a german rom? In germany it is called the VPA3 not the 1620

Ok ok ok point proved (I was actually looking for VPA! Found a VPX/V1620 now thanks!)
Anyways, the point was the wiki doesnt answer everything - its mainly techincal help thats offered, and with the FTP taken down its going to get a lot harder to find ROMs.
SUGGESTION: Why not introduce a new wiki page where you can obtain the official ROM updates from the manufacturers/operators websites?

Agreed it does not answer everything.. So.. lets think of solutions...
The WIKI is an open book that can be written.. So create the page you want..
If you want to link to "official" ROM sources you can, just create the page...
The whole backbone of this site is based upon the fact that we share knowledge.. a true USER BASED community... Maybe thats why sometimes people like me get a tad "uptight" when people forget how to use google!
Go ahead.. create that page in Wiki.. it doesnt take that long to do!

i didn't use my xda2i for 1 yr (i think), before, it can detect my sim card and can call and send txt msgs, but now, my xda2i can't detect any simcard! i dunno what happened.. phone is always NO SERVICE and has NO SIGNAL. The logo beside the speakerlogo has exclamation point... i had the feeling that my fon is locked, so i tried to unlock it by xdadevallunlock but still it doesn't work. exclamation (!) only changed to (x), but still no service. i'm from philippines, i nid help guys! if u have suggestions kindly reply on this thread or txt me 09294666336.

it only chang to another rom , and it still only 2003se .Not upgrade to WM 2005 or WM6.x.

i guess there's no solution for this problem cause no body replied with a good solution. i'm having the same problem too.....i got no signal and problem with the align screen menu....can any one help me with this problem? come on guys, don't make me think that there's no one here is capable for fixing this kind of mess....
