How long does it take to do a full rom update? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I am upgrading my O2 XDA iis to the 1.40 iMate Rom and it has been on this screen for quite a while.
Checking the information on your device ... Please wait ...
Please don't disconnect your device from your PC or
the power supply until the update is completed.
and the XDA says
USB
v2.07
It's been on for 20 mins and shows no indication of actually doing anything.
I'm scared to kill it now and do a hard reset incase it is the wrong thing to do.
Please help, just a quick reply on what to do.

Ok I am a prat, thought I had read everything but aparently not.

How long to flash a Blue Angel? - Cause I think it's stuck!

I've currently followed the instructions for the 1.31 with Arabic and different radio file because that's exactly same original hardware as my UK O2 XDA IIs.
But I've ran the BaUpgradeUt.exe and it confirmed the version changes, but now it doesn't seem to be doing much.
Phone has gone dark and simply says:
USB
v2.06
And the Upgrade program says: Checking the information on the device please wait.
And a warning not to disconnect it.
Erm this is my first flashing so just a little worried I've toasted my new device :-( I can appreciate it takes a while to transfer 30Mb odd over USB, but it hasn't done anything for almost 10 minutes now :-(
Help please? :-(
Thanks!
And I think I've solved my own problem. Everything you need really is in this forum... somewhere
For everyone else who stumbles over this looking for same thing. I simply took battery out for 30 mins (to flatten backup I assume) and then hard reset it (comes up with serial v2.06 at point you unplug from cradle) and then restarted PC and re-ran update program and SEEMS to be going okay at the moment!
Hi,
I have the O2 XDA IIs just like you too but still with the original ROM. You can get a copy of the original ROM from O2 now off their myxda uk site if there are any problems.
Have you got a step by step guide of how you upgraded to 1.31?
Cheers
Hi,
Take a look at the Wiki site. It has all the info on there. I'm now running a 1.31 main ROM (was originally 1.12), a 1.06.02 radio (originally 1.02 I think) and an extended ROM that is hacked up from Orange's (the network I'm actually on!) as well as my own choice of programs etc. Wiki has all the info! It rocks! Thanks to the guys (and gals?) who write it!

I have the same problem but i'am with mda III T-mobile can Any one help me ??????
well i do not want to offend you but you are too stupid to even try the upgrade over bluetooth, the upgrade only can be performed over cable
Get a cradle or a data cable and update according to descriptions in the Wiki. You're in bootloader mode, you should be able to resume the update from here, but ofcourse only by cable.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
worst case scenario is to recover your device using mtty, search the forums for the method
Or you can find it in "the guide" which can be found within the wiki (near xplode ROM)
I really want to improve the wiki - but the ****ing time

xda IIi problem

Hi
I attempted to download the XDA IIi (v1.11.171) software update and during installation the software update was interrupted by my computer rebooting. Now my XDA does not boot and all it displays is "Serial V.1.01". I have tried a hard reset but it still does not boot.
I would appreciate any suggestions you could advise on how I can recover from this situation.
Thanks
you go to bootloadder and uprom again
goog luck
It doesn't sync with the pc anymore though.
Won't sync, but if you plug it in, and see the screen on the pda change to something like USB, it's connected.
It's connected, but when i go to update, it says country id error.
find this file at the ftp "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" and use it to upgrade
I fixed the problem by reflashing the rom using the ma_upgradeUt.
Thanks to everyone that helped

I'm in the same boat...
I think I'm in the process of reflashing the ROM.
I have a message, " Checking the information on your device, Please Wait"
how long should this whole process take?
Thanks
Time for an update
I waited 45 minutes for the ROM to update. It never got out of the "Checking the information on your device, Please Wait" mode. I have a bad feeling...
Its my guess that when its in the SERIAL screen and USB screen when plugged in to the Computer that its in Bootloader Mode. Is there a way to get it to load a new ROM? Or, am I trying to revive a "brick."
Thanks to all that help or explain my situation to me.

you have to quit the installer program from task manager, then rerun it, i had to do this with both my xda2 and xda2i it hangs, make sure you dont remove your phone from the cradle or out of boot loader mode.
the second time the program runs it will not find any existing info and just install the OS, it takes about 30 mins
A Little More Info, Please

Don't worry. I used a GSM rom on my CDMA phone, then nothing worked. Even all type of reset, they did not work. Just find out a correct ROM to reflash it, then should be fine. Now my phone has 90% of function recovery

I suggest you to take out the battery out for quite sometime, let the backup battery die. Power it up later on and follow flashing procedure again.
It is always suggested to use Laptop for upgrading as they dont get affected by power shutdown for short time.
Hello Folks,
I tried all suggested til now. I took out the battery for more than a week but the problem is (and was) that I couldn't get a connection anymore with the Qtek thru activesync 4.5.0
The device isn't seen by the computer. Not even when I say activsync to connect to a device.
Still open for more suggestions
qtek doesnt do anyting
if your qtek doesnt doe anything any more try giting it in to bootloader mode and the try to reflash it if you cant get in to bootloader mode your device is nearly finished and you cant do anything more with it the return it to qtek and let them put a new flash chip in it
or get your hand on a new flash chip and a good manual of getting it opend and let someone who can reather good solder solder the old flash chip out of your device and let him put the new one in it and your device must be okaey after that and you can havefun with your device and the when you upgrade you qtek do it eith a laptop because laptops have an battarey that is capebale of work for 1 hour when the power is down or with a traffel battarey it can work on full loaden one for 3,5 hours

[Q] Problem with my HTC P-4350

Hello. I'm new in here. half hour ago I got registered. so i have a problem with my HTC. For about 1-2 weeks now the device was restarting. 2 days ago the device never opened again. yesterday I tried the hard reset sequence and the device open to the message that i will lose everything and if i agree to press send but when i press it i get a green screen and nothing more. what can i do? what might be the problem? I uploaded also a video (but I can't post it cause I am a new user so ask me to send it as a pm) and a photo of the green screen.
thank you very much.
By all means, if you don't mind losing data that you had on the ROM memory, then hardreset.
Hard resetting I think is the best possible solution for you.
So press that green phone button when it tells you to ^>^
I already did a hard reset. that's why i have that green screen. I did a hard reset about 4-5 times now. thanks for your answer.
Ah, I see.
Try this:
Soft reset your phone while holding the camera button.
Does this get you to a screen where it's Red/Blue/Green/White Screen?
If it does, try plugging in a USB cord. If you get this far and see the word 'USB' in the lower left hand corner, then I think we can continue on.
I did it and it shows usb. what next?
Awesome, I'm glad.
Next, Download and run the .exe:
http://rapidshare.com/#!download|16..._4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe|56629
After this, all should be well.
Now if you want to flash custom ROMs like the ones that I make, just follow the directions on any one of my ROM threads from Top to Bottom ^>^
before i continue. after the installation i will have the OS back? I will have to install it again? i had WM6. thank you very very much for all the help.
error 300: INVALID UPDATE TOOL.
THIS UPDATE UTILLITY CANNOT BE USED FOR YOUR PDA PHONE. PLEASE GET NEWER UPDATE UTILITY.
that's the message i got.
Hmm, okay, try searching mediafire for the user aizend1985 and look for an .exe entiled Wing something or another.. I'm out right now, so cant get the link for you.
Download and run.
i can't find the user. i'll try again. when you have the time please send me. again thankl you very much. have a great time.
Here you go mate, try this:
http://download1152.mediafire.com/he785npun6pg/yj1oz2m3mzm/TMo_Wing_RUU_Update_4.26.531.4.exe
If this doesn't work I'll try to do some research for you and see what we can do.
Error 244: Invalid model id.
Okay. The last thing you can do is to try the dutch vodaphone herald version:
http://rapidshare.com/#!download|18..._4.21.172.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.rar|52629
Download and run the .exe from the Red/Blue/Green/White screen.
If this loads onto your device, then what we do is we HardSPL next.
*crosses my fingers for ya*
If this doesn't work, then have HTC try to repair it. Because I don't think there is anything else to do for it :1
:'( Error 244: Invalid model id.
thank you very much for everything. at least I know that it can be fixed.
you reflashed your phone in some custom roms?
but it didnt work still and you tried the hard spl too.... can you tell me the history of your phone before it went like that, i am a technician and might help you on your problem.... what was the last thing you did on your phone? i will wait for your reply if it's ok....
dear [email protected]
I have the HTC P-4350 for the last 5 years. the last 1-2 weeks the phone started to freeze and the screen went white slowly and then restart. after the 2 weeks the phone closed and didn't open again but the hard reset is working until the part that said format done (or something like that) and then i get a green screen (see the photo I have attached here). after that i made this post and the friend Tribulattifather (member of the site here) helped me with some info and gave me some files to try and install but the first file gave me this message
"error 300: INVALID UPDATE TOOL.
THIS UPDATE UTILLITY CANNOT BE USED FOR YOUR PDA PHONE. PLEASE GET NEWER UPDATE UTILITY."
and the other gave me
"Error 244: Invalid model id.".
there isn't something else. any idea?
thank you.
what is your spl number and ipl....
did you do the HARDSPL on your phone????
do the hardspl first and then flash your phone using a micro sd....
tell me if you already did that.... i will wait for your reply....
i also want to know if you dropped it or something before it went like that.... plz tell me the whole history of your phone....
to my perspective, the phone's problem can be resolve in flashing....
tell me if you hardspl it,,,, because you cant flash it on some ROMS if it's not HARDSPLed...
