can anyone explain how midlett games work ,ive got a alpine xdalli.
They are Java programs and you can install them with your Midlet Manager in Programs. They are not as good as the full games for Windows Mobile but they are small in size and take up only a small amount of system resources.
thx for that mate but could you explain exactly how you do that ,im abit of a beginner :?
Hi,
Copy the *.jar *.jad files to the root of your storage card on your PDA.
See this link for many games
http://www.arcticautowash.com/Games/
Tap 'Start'
Select 'Programs'
Select 'MIDlet Manager'
Select 'Install' from bottom left corner menu.
The name of the copied files should appear, hold stylus down on file name nd select 'install' and the game name should appear.
Tap to play.
A word of warning though I have had problems with the running of these games, the games can freeze, although I haven't tested much with these. So I stick to Windows Mobile games.
PS. I have given details of my Alpine car set-up, your post link below

Snoop... First, thank you for the link... Gotta love the downTHEMall! app for Firefox....
Uncompress the game you want, and copy the files into the My midlet folder on your phone. These are java based games, and you have to use the midlet manager to install, and run them. Some won't work, some will be a little flaky, but most should be ok.
-Chris.
i can't find the midlet folder or where you find the midlet manager...
sorry i am completely lost
I have a problem understanding the controls for these inside one the midlet manager. These were design for regular phones to use their number pad and so I get that much but when the program wants you to choose from one of the two button that are normally at the bottom left and right of the screen I don't know which buttons on the XDA IIs correspond.

This is not for sure,
Depends on your provider and your phone,
For a blueangel i go here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_Applications
to download the midlet manager,
ftp://xda:[email protected]_1_22/Cabs/Application/JMM101257_WWE_1004.CAB
Renember this is for my phone, look at the ERK files of your wiki buddies with the same phone, and all extracted romfiles.
Tryed this on my Tilt and so far it seems to run fine with no problems. It replaces/adds functionally to the start button on the main screen. Has alot of options to customize it also. Its freeware.Simply make a folder called quickmenu in your programs dir, and add the files and click to run it.
ya, been using it myself. I like it. it's a lot like Windows XPs start menu
I love how it adds a % to the topbar battery icon, no more guessing from the stupid bars anymore.
i use SPB pocket plus which adds a few pixel bar across the top. I prefer that spot that quick menus battery takes for HTC task manager. it's a preference thing though.
can you post a screen shot of what this looks like? Thanks
The author has a thread going in the hacking forum on xda:

I just noticed that.
Once you try it out you wont go back to the standard wm6 menu button. Infact you can run both at once if you want just click on "start" for the original menu, or the little windows icon next to it for this quick menu.
QuickMenu is fantastic
Long ago I used to use SmallMenu. It was too slow though, for some reason. I have been using QuickMenu for a couple of weeks and I cannot live witout it! In fact I thought Microsoft was going to build something like this into WM6, and was very surprised they didn't bother...
This is freeware from China. I have version 2.7.387.1527. The web site for this software is:
http://www.alensw.com
What version was posted here? And where can we get a version that will be upgraded in the future, and could have an english web site? I guess you could use google to translate the above web page...
i'm having trouble getting this to work on my tilt, i cant get the file to open and install, any suggestions?

Download zip from first post
unzip the 4 files in it
put the 4 files in a folder on your tilt (make a folder in "program files" called quickmenu)
browse to the exe and tap on it
should work just fine. You will not see anything setup on your ppc. After thats done just click on the windows start icon (upper left corner) and the smaller menu should appear all installed and ready to go.
It is not a pc setup program, the exe is already in ppc format and ready to run on your ppc.

I was wondering if someone could please help me as I am a complete noob at this. I recently purchased the Tilt (Kaiser) and I love it. My question is what is the best emulator for SNES to run on the tilt and can anyone give me a step by step instruction on how to put it on my phone. I was also curious as to how to put Shadow Of Legend on as well (cant seem to do it). I have plenty of space as I have a 4gb sdhc card. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in adavance.
Nick
There are quite a few emulators around. Some people like one and some people will hate it. It's all about personal prefs really.
Have a look around the web http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=snes+emulator+for+pocket+pc&meta=
find a few and install them.... usually they are just a cab file that needs putting on your device and then clicking to run it exactly the same as any other PPC bit of software
Yo guy, stop making the same thread over and over again. The mods keep closing them for a reason you dope.
Sorry man im just getting overly frustrated with this i cant seem to get it on my phone i dont know exactly what to do.
Ok, I'm going to try and close this topic once and for all...
I went to http://www.spicypixel.com/web/page/morphgear/Download.aspx and downloaded MorphGear and SNES9X MorphModule by clicking on the link [CAB].
I then extracted both of the resulting ZIP files on my Vista box, and copied them to my phone using WM Device Center. After the copy was complete, I tapped on both CABs to install them (to Main Memory). I then copied one of my SNES games to my phone (I will not provide any of these because they are illegal unless you have the physical cartridge in your possession).
I then went to Start -> Programs -> Games -> MorphGear, and launched the program. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF NEEDING A SERIAL NUMBER, MorphGear is an open source application.
I then clicked on the Open file icon and browsed to where I copied Super Punch Out (my SNES game of choice) to, and tapped on it to open.
I spent 30 minutes playing it at FULL 60fps with NO slowdown due to piss poor video drivers that we have to work with.
Please do not take this next part the wrong way, but if you do not know how to install a CAB file or copy files to your device using either ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, you need to do A LOT of reading before you attempt to do anything other than make/receive phone calls on your device.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
Hi there,
Can someone post the "libgles_cm.dll" file (found in /Windows/ directory) coming from the Xperia ?
I'll compare it with the one in the HTC Diamond, I'm actually trying some things in order to launch 2700g enabled games on those devices...
Thanks !
here you go, i'm presuming from the way it struggles with glbenchmark that it's going to be the same..
Thank you very much, I appreciate that you took time for my request
i added it at windows folder, but it didin't help when i tried open, there come "destination is undefined you trust this dll" and you said yes, but still "PInvoke DDL libgles_cm:dll does not found"
sry for language misstakes
in Windows, go to Folder Options and disable "Hide system files"
you can also search on google for this if you want screenshots etc. there are tons on the internet.

Hi,
I need help ...
I just installed SKTools 3.1.12, and I used "Clean Up" tool ...
The SKTool cleaned up suppose to be junks, temporary, or bad shortcuts ...
But now, my link to Java (Esmeretec Jbed) is missing.
Do you know how to recreate it?
I used to have "Java" icon somewhere in the "Programs" or "Settings", which I can click to start Opera Mini 4.2.
Thanks
when i view the properties of the "Java" link file with resco explorer, the shortcut points to:
"\Windows\jbed.exe"?MPI_ProgramIcons.dll,-121
note that this is on my current ROM (PDA Corner Ultimate X2.V8). also, i can gather that for the above to work, there must be a file called "jbed.exe" in your windows folder and another file called "MPI_ProgramIcons.dll". can't decipher much more than that but perhaps someone else can
on a side note, i'm curious why you are using opera MINI when opera MOBILE is available for windows mobile and it is oh so much better! for one thing, it doesn't need java (i.e. its a native application) and it has a desktop rendering mode which works pretty well! give it a shot!
I tried to create .lnk file using my PC, content:
"\Windows\jbed.exe"?MPI_ProgramIcons.dll,-121
And I placed it in \Windows\Programs\
It does not work.
About Opera Mobile, it is slow ... unfortunately.
And I installed 9.7, but the Turbo mode setting cannot be saved permanently:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4878752&postcount=798
Fixed!
I used Total Commander, copied something.lnk to Java.lnk.
Edit the Shortcut to the above content.
Thanks ASCIIker!
Just a little info:
Get Opera Mobile from the source Opera Mobile website and the Turbo Mode works just not when dowloading you have to change setting refresh page.
Mind you i still use Mini as it's just soooo fast
Re: The bit in shortcut @ end after and inc ? points to a .dll and the no. of the resource so as to use custom start menu icons.
