I am trying to install treffictv which is a .jar application.
When I was using wm2003se I had a ppplication which allowed me to do this, I cant find this now. Any ideas?
Java
AFAIK, mda pro has built-in java manager, so it can run Java applications. I used to use TaoJava with WM2003, but it doesn't install with WM5, so now i'm without java support.
I don't know of a new version of TaoJava for WM5.

I've done some research and can't find much on this topic -
I'm trying to run a program called Smurf - it requires that I have SQL CE installed on the device. I've tried 2 different ROM's (Alex's & Mobile Vista) Everytime I run the program it gives me a error about not being able to find sqlceme30.dll. The developer told me I needed to install SQL CE and gave me the MS link. I downloaded the program - however, under devices it gives you a ton of different cabs to install. My question is, which one do I install? I use an AT&T Tilt w/ Alex's ROM WM6. Any help would be greatly appriciated....
Thanks.
Dont mean to unbury this but I am having the same exact problem with smurf.
Hi,
I somehow messed up the Java in my Tilt.
I have the latest standard WM6 AT&T ROM.
I found that the Java icon in Start-Programs disappeared. So I created a shortcut, but then the Java app wouldn't start (I received no errors at all).
I performed an HR, tested the Java app and successfully installed Opera Mini.
So I copied all the files that seemed related to Java from the Windows directory, performed a restore, and copied those files back to Windows. Tried again to run Java - no luck.
So the question is, where can I obtain just the Java installation? (not Opera Mini).
Or is there any other solution to this?
Thank you.
Hy guys, I recently flashed my X1 with an Energy ROM from NRGZ28' kitchen. All seems to be satisfying, except the fact that I cannot install java files. Even though I run the Java app first and try to install .jar extension files from inside the program, it says "File Error (???)".
The java apps that I tryed hard to install worked just fine before I flashed my x1. Before, I was running a wm 6.1 based cooked by The Nuts....I am satisfied with my new OS,I don't want to change it, but if I can't install java apps and games...i will not nave a choice.
I would surely appreciate any help in solving this problem...pls help, I don't have much experience in hacking phones..
Best regards
problem solved
I was having a free time yesterday, so I spent my time looking for a solution.
To all of you guys that share the same problem, I understood Energy ROMs cannot run java from the pre-installed java program.
For this to not be a headache, you must install MYRIAD JAVA, that is the best java emulator. It also gives you the option to make a shortcut of your java games or apps to the application or games folder in your root.
For a fully-functional x1, google "myriad java download" and follow the steps.
Once you downloaded it, just install it to your device.
Big thanks to xda forum, cheers!
