I have a strange problem.
My Internet Explorer does not connect anywhere. I have set up a BlueTooth Null Modem connection to my PC. Everything seems OK. RescoKeyboard and PocketWeather getting its updates okay. Even MSN Messenger connects to the internet. But the Internet Explorer does not connect anywhere...
What could be the problem here?
Strangely, IE does not connect anywhere when it is docked or connected by wireless too..
Fixed after hard reset...

has anyone tried internet connection sharing via HSPDA to a PC using activesync or bluetooth yet? any issues?
I use USB/ActiveSync and it works fine.
Just follow the manual. I followed it and got no problem.
One thing though, in the manual, it said "execute 3gnetopt.exe in the PC to optimize it for 3G connection".
It seems, after that it changed the routing automatically and can slow down your internet connection when not using the ICC via PDA.
Well, that's easy, just disable the "additional" network interface in the PC.
i could get the usb internet sharing to work but bluetooth internet sharing doesnt work. my pc is able to detect a local bluetooth pan network without internet access. anyone got their bluetooth/internet to work?
I have internet sharing working via bluetooth on a tablet and laptop (both running XP). First I tried DUN and it worked which suprised me. Then I set up a PAN connection and got Internet sharing running. After that DUN will no longer work, it looks like it trys but then fails. But Internet Sharing is faster and works fine over bluetooth.
It can be tedious at first, you need to create a BT PAN Connection on the PC, you need to create a BT partnership with the Kaiser in your Bluetooth manager on the PC. You need to set the Kaiser's Internet sharing to "Bluetooth PAN" and have the Network connection set to go to your ISP's GPRS internet AP.
Once I have PAN setup on the PC, it's showing "Network Cable Unplugged"
I then Start the Kaiser's Internet Sharing and press connect, it starts a GPRS connection.
I then open the Bluetooth Manager on the PC, select the Kaiser's Connection Icon, right click and select connect.
Then the two devices connect and I'm off and running.
With 3G I have been able to answer calls and talk on my Jawbone BT headset while still connected to the PC via BT as well, pretty much MAGIC
bluetooth still cant work with those instructions, i'll just stick to USB for now.
how do I ensure that HSPDA is working and its not just 3G?
My 3G icon changes to H when it connects hi-Speed. I'm wondering what Bluetooth Stack your PC has, I had issues with my tablet and Hermes until I got new BT Drivers from Fujitsu support. Your PC may need updated BT profiles? My laptop is Dell (uses a Toshiba BT Stack), the tablet is Fujitsu (also Toshiba BT Stack). Just a thought.
On the Plus side, using a USB cable will keep the phone charged, which is good because HSPDA is a power hog anyway.
i'm using a bluetooth dongle with my PC running vista
Both USB and BT ICS work great for me. I've used it on Edge, 3G, and HSDPA.
Both USB and BT ICS work great for me. I've used it on Edge
Internet sharing only working on 2G and not 3G
I am connected right now via internet sharing using my USB cable. However, this is working only if I have a 2G signal showing on my tytnII. When I am in a 3G location, the internet sharing program sits with the message "waiting for network"....this is just after the message "checking USB cable".
I have tried many things including a hard-reset, not having a full sync relationship between the PC, just connected etc. All to no avail.
I am using a new Dell laptop running Vista Ultimate.
Unlike previous PDAs I've had, I don't know a way to force the tytn II to stay on 2G, so when I am at work in a 3G environment, I cannot get internet sharing to work.
Help!
Had to confirm that when the kaiser is connected to pc via activesync does it use the pcs internet connection without connecting to 3g or hsdpa?
Monitoring doesnt show usage while sync'd and surfing.
I would say so, it also works over bluetooth sync.
Yes it does
Yes, the Tilt uses the computers internet because when I'm plugged into my work computer and try surfing the web with the Tilt, the network security blocks sites.
thanks for the quick reply. Going to see if i could get this running this thru bluetooth.
Timeline of events leading up to the failure.
While connected to my home wireless router via WiFi on my Tilt, I was surfing Dutty's cab-page link but was unable to see any cabs; even after registering. So I then downloaded 2 cabs from these forums that were meant to aid in Bluetooth headset volume and installed them when I noticed my WiFi connection on the Tilt disconnected.
I've attempted to re-establish the connection with no success; even so much as to go through all the connection set-up steps and re-enter the router key.
The wireless router is operating fine and my Wife's Tilt is able to connect thru WiFi with no issues as usual; so not a router problem. I am still able to connect to the net thru the phone's basic internet eg. 3G etc. (I am typing this thread from the phone)
For months until now I've been able to connect with my wireless router on my Tilt; what could have happened?
Any suggestions for a fix?
Thanks in advance!
Christopher
Solution: I had to not only Remove the Programs but I had to delete the cabs in My Documents as well.
Guess I'll just suffer with low Jawbone volume
Hi
My connection to internet through my diamond (internet connection over USB or bluetooth) is very unstable. The program show that it is connected and my computer gets an ip-adress from the phone, but I don't reach the internet (my phone answers to ping(default gateway))
The connection profile I'm using works (i use it to sync with Exchange) and one out of 10 times it works with my computer too
Anyone have similar problems?
Best regards
Andreassg
i have the same problem!
hey - i have the same problem - im trying on my mac (10.5.5), the computer connects to the phone fine and gets an IP address, but no data gets through to the net - strange though it works find using dialup bluetooth, just not using the internet sharing app and bluetooth lan connection. It has to be a windows mobile issue. Strange thing is though - and this is where things go strange, it works fine with the widcomm BT stack on an XP machine.
just my thoughts

Hey guys , so i have a netbook with bluetooth (lenovo S10) and my HTC touch Pro. I wanted to control my netbook with myphone using Gremote either via bluetooth or wifi.
First, i tried the bluetooth method. I followed the instrution at the main site and got all the way until i have to setup a PAN in my netbook. However i couldn't find any option to setup a PAN so i couldn't control my netbook with myphone via bluetooth.
Then i proceded to create an ad-hoc wifi network from my netbook. I made it's SSID and then set it as not using any encryption and the network key is automatically provided by windows. My phone detected the network and connected successfully to it. Both had ip's for within the network. Now the Gremote server is already running in my computer. I started the Gremote app in my phone and then went on to create a profile. When i press the FIND button (to search for the ip address) it says couldn't find ip. However in my netbook, The Gremote server shows in it's log file that it received request search from [my phone's ip here].
What is wrong? My netbook seems to be detecting my phone attempting to connect to it but the gremote app on my phone shows that it couldn't find anything?
P/s: I've tried manually key-ing the ipaddress and it didn't work.
Ive had that issue before and other issue with the app. Its strange, one day it will just start working.
For the bluetooth, make sure you have a serial port open, but i have yet to see a bluetooth stack on a PC that doesnt have an option to activate PAN.
With the wifi, you said you manually keyed it in, are you getting that IP from the status page on the gremote server app? make sure you have that port open as well, i think its 5656 or something.
you should try to
1. connect to your PC using a router
2. Drop the wep encyption on your adhoc connection
3. use a static IP for your PC
4. have your phone connected to the wifi connection for atleast 20 seconds before you try to initiate control with gremote.
ive used gremote on 2 laptops and a PC. the PC is my home PC which is the only one that has given me an issue. Regardless, it works now. One day it just started working. on the PC i can use gremote through my router wifi, adhoc connection straight to it, or bluetooth pan. On my laptop i use it through router wifi and adhoc without ever having an issue. on my sisters laptop ive used it with a adhoc connection......still no issue.
Keep messing with it. The only problems ive ever had seemed to have worked themselves out after a couple days.
Thanks YL Groper. Actually about 2 nights ago, i was playing around and it most certainly worked suddenly.
I made a standard Ad hoc network (open without encryption) and let it run. However my computer couldn't detect the network (which was created from the computer). Then i input the SSID to my Touch Pro, and it found the network. After being connected to the network, my computer found the network as well and begin to connect to it. Once it got the ip, my phone could retrieve the ip from the computer and now i have no problem
