Voice activation over bluetooth for Blue Angel - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi
I've seen another topic about this subject for an IMate Jam:http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=171203.
I would like to know if it's possible for a blue angel(Orange SPV M2000)? The sddialer exe doesn't exist on the blue angel.
I have a SuperTooth II and Voice Command 1.5. When i push the SuperTooth button the audio goes on and the dialer appears. Instead of reaching the dialer which is located in Windows and called cprog.exe, i would like to rename the path to reach \Program Files\VoiceCommand\voicecmd.exe
Between these keys which one should be the right one to be renamed?
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tel\DefaultIcon] @="cprog.exe,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tel\Shell\Open\Command] @="cprog.exe -n -url %1"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dtmf\DefaultIcon] @="cprog.exe,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dtmf\Shell\Open\Command] @="cprog.exe -n -url %1"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCPROG]
"0"="MSCprog"
"1"="cprog.exe"
"2"=dword:00000000
"3"=dword:00000000
"4"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Extensions\ContextMenus\Phone\MSCProg]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Extensions\ContextMenus\Phone\MSCProg\{06997CD6-58A2-4275-88AE-86BCE6D503DE}]
@="Hands-free settings"
Or is there another mean to proceed??
Thanks for your help

Hello
Could somebody help me please ?? do you need some more informations??
Thank you

Activating Voice Command with Bluetooth Headset
I have the following device:
Blue Angel (Verizon xv6600)
PH20A3
ROM Version 1.36.00 WWE
Extened ROM Version 1.36.117
Radio Version HA01_151
I am very new to this forum. With a Jabra BT500, I can hold down the Jabra's redial button and it wakes up the BA even when turned off and redials the number. According to the Jabra's manual, tapping the same button, is supposed to activate voice command (at least on normal BT phones).
Can the BA be programed so that BT signal from the Jabra starts MS Voice command? This would allow me to start voice command with the BT headset which would be good even if the commands wouldn't work through the Jabra's microphone.
Can anyone shed light on what to do and how to do it?

Bluetooth and Microsoft Voice Command

I know this has been beat to death in the Hermes forum but I have found a bit of difference with my Kaiser as compared to my Hermes.
I have quite a bit of experience with the TyTN hermes tweaks to get Microsoft Voice Command to work with the Hermes but not only will the Kaiser NOT work without the tweaks - I can't get it to work with the tweaks.
I followed the exact instructions like I always have listed in the Hermes Wiki section titled Utilities and Software Tweaks (including Bluetooth Voice Command installation and the Registry changes). However after the changes I cannot initiate a Bluetooth instruction via the Bluetooth device. If I initiate the call via the handheld it works great as far as stability and sound quality.
Any suggestions?
You don't have to do any tweaks on Kaiser! Just install VC 1.6. Assign Button 6 to Voice command. Soft reset. It should work. Works for me at least. The only think that doesn't work is a caller name announcement.

Ditto,
My Kaiser does announce incoming callers on the internal speaker when the setting is on "use bluetooth if available". I only use bluetooth with my car so I do not know what the behavior with a headset would be.
Does it work so that you can push the button on your Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth car adapter and then give the Voice Command through the headset? Mine didn't work. That's why I did the tweaks.
Also can someone tell me that with just the Voice Command installed what does the following registry key have (or does it even exist)?:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = ????
AND
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGExtModule = ???
Also if you go to settings and click on Voice Command - what version Voice Command do you have? I have v1.6.4622.0
Thanks
GenesysLV,
Can you please check build number of your VC 1.6?
Thanks.

Not terribly related, but v1.60.4622.0 is what my copy reports as well - though I'm still on a Hermes. I believe that's the retail release, I've not seen any indication of another one....

Hmm... Looks like I have build 1.60.4630.0
Hi, I have build v1.60.4622.0 and I noticed a fundamental difference when installing to my kaiser than when installing to my Uni; no registry entries get added to:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand
So this means that no bluetooth interaction would work. Therefore I added:
Dword entry: LaunchAPEnable (value 0)
and
String entry: Path (value \Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe
Rebooted and now voice command is initiated fine via bluetooth headset. Haven't tested notifications yet - I think there might still be a missing reg entry but I can't remember what it is!
Hope this helps someone....
Thanks. I'll try those registry changes. I hard reset last night to make sure that I got rid of all of the "tweaks" that had been done - the way I did for the Hermes.
I wonder where the other guy got version 30 instead of our version 22
I got mine from Handango - the Microsoft site doesn't have any updates except for version 1.5

No problem. v1.6.4622.0
I should have caught up on the thread first. Just to be claer, I do not hear the callers name through my car. I do hear it only on the Kaiser's speaker.
I'd love to get the announcements working over BT. It was sporadic on my TyTN with the registry hacks.

This needs to go into the Kaiser WIKI !!!
These registry changes are needed inorder to be able to initiate phone calls from your bluetooth device using Microsoft Voice Command. These registry changes worked GREAT and the initiation of calls from bluetooth work much better than with the Hermes and it's tweaks.
Of note, using Resco Registry editor, I had to put quotes aroung the Path entry to get it to work so my registry edit looked like this:
Path Value= "\Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe"
If anyone knows how to get attention to have this put in the Wiki please feel free.
Odd, I did not have to edit/add any registry settings and I can initiate calls/commands from my BlueAnt Z9 headset.

Is there a repeat incall audible alert on the Tytn II?

I really find it useful to have a 3minute repeating incall alertr. If there such a setting on the Kaiser, or if there isnt does anyone know of any?
You knopw like when you get a beep for call waiting, except that this just gives a small beep to advise that X minutes have passed.
thanks
No there isn't. But there is freeware by the name of Redial V1.02 at www.pocketmax.net the publishers of the famous PhoneAlarm.
V1.02 is said to be compatible with WM5 and therefore I assume it would be with WM6 as well. Personally I have not tried it.
Regards
I might be mistaken, but to my knowledge ReDial only redials when the other party is unavailable, and does not do what GLO asks: get an audible beep every three minutes of being on the phone...
Please search for "How to Enable Repeat Play Audio Sound Notifications in Windows Mobile"
You will find the solution!

Voice Command 1.6 on Tytn II

Has anyone installed MS Voice Command on their Tytn II yet? I'd really like to be able to initiate calls from the BT headset when in the car...
Just curious since I know the new version supposedly supports commands directly from the headset. If no one else has.. maybe I'll buy it and give it a shot.

Works like a charm. Will post the link to get VC 1.6 to announce calls.
can you post the link please to get it to announce calls.
Its been great having VC 1.6 running with no hacks needed. It would be the icing on the cake to have it announce calls finally.
Can I just install it and it works? As in I can initiate calls with the BT Headset button? I hate having to fiddle with the phone.
If I can't do this, it's not worth $39 imho.

Here you go (found it after searching for hours don't remember from where)
***
Disable Voice Command before you attempt this
Overwrite your existing files from the zip. Make sure you can see hidden/system files
\Windows
VoiceCommand_PPC.cpl
\Program Files\Voice Command\
VoiceCmdRes_PPC.dll
VoiceCommandWMP.dll
voicecmd.exe
Enable voice command.
Let me know how it goes.

As I said you should have windows display hidden/system files to see that. Check your windows explorer settings, all 4 files are there.
Thanks. That did solve the problem.

I thought this was for VC 1.5 not 1.6??? I thought VC 1.6 was supposed to work natively with the BT headset? I'm not rying to be a pain - I just don't want to hack anything up if I don't have to.

I have both but VC 1.5 won't even start on my Kaiser.
OK... So I added the suggested key to the registry - but Istill can't start Voice Command with the button on the headset... (Jabra x10 series II)
Any thoughts? I am assuming the regsitry key is a String Value:
Name = "Path"
and then the value being the path itself... is this correct??

Make sure you assign the voice command button as well
It seems to be working now... It takes two beeps on the headset to initiate VC. Well... We'll see how this works over the next week or so...
Glad you got it working.
BTW my JX10 works with one press.

I have to hold the button until there are 2 beeps then i get the prompt...
Maybe the Series II works differently?

Maybe... but if it works that's all that matters!
Are these steps working for other Kaiser users? VC 1.6 works fine after install for activation via an assigned button on the phone. No matter what tweaks I make in the registry or files I replace though, activation through the headset is just opening up the HTC phone applet.

Problem getting Cyberon voice dailer working with BT

Hi, I've been searching in this forum and tried most of the solution but still can't get it to work. So I hope somebody can help me out.
I'm using Cyberon voice dailer, I can it to work if I press and hold the # 4 button to bring up the voice speed dialer and either speak to the phone or BT for it to dial. However if I just tap the button on the BT it just bring up the normal dial pad. What I'm looking for is the ability to tap the button on the BT then speak the name and it will dial. Is it possible with the Cyberon voice dalier?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Same Issue
I have the same problem. I have been able to use it before, but I don't know if it is the ROM i am using or not. Using Open Touch 3.0 Biggy. Flashed too many ROM's to keep track when it worked and when it didn't.

Hi,
The 4th hold button is mapped to hot voice record.
In the next release I'm including voice speed dial and MS voice command.
Also,
Please try and post issues with my roms in the original thread when possible, doing so will make it easier for me and others to help you.

Hi Tran,
Thanks for your reply and sorry if I post in the wrong place but I don't think it's the problem with your rom. Press and hold the 4th button to activate voice dialer work very good with your rom. I think the problem is more on the Cyberon speed dialer than your rom.
What I would like to do is when using bluetooth, press the button on the bluetooth and it'll activate the voice dialer. Rather than press and hold the 4th button on the wing and then speak to the bluetooth.
On the side note, most of my contacts name is in Vietnamese so MS Voice Command really have a hard time recognize those names. That's the reason why I choose Cyberon so I can record the name tag. It work better than the preset one on MS Voice Command.

How to map a function for the headset stereo button?

Does anyone know if it is possible to asign a function to the stereo headset that comes with the package of the HTC TyTN II?
If I press and hold that button in the stereo (the button used to receive/end calls) then the program Voice Commander is launched, as a default function I guess. But, what if I want to change this and buy pressing-holding I want to run another voice control program instead, like, let's say: Vito Voice2GO?
How can I map such a thing to the stereo headset button? Is that possible?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried changing the top left hardware button for 'voice command' (in settings - buttons) to 'Vito'? I wouldv'e thought this would do it.
Hi Leoni1980
I thought same, thinking about the fact that "voice command" is asigned to the top left hardware button (as well as "record" soft is asigned to that button). But I don't have that button mapped to the default soft. I have this button maped to TaskSwitcher (pressing) and to HTC ActionScreen soft (pressing and holding). So, fallowing this idea, when I press and hold the headset button, it should launch the HTC ActionScreen soft, as you also think it would if I map it to eg. Vito', but it doensn't. It keeps on launching the "voice command soft". Strange thing... It's like by pressing and holding the headset button it is "calling" directly the exe of "voice command", or that there is no a similar (analog) button for the headset button on the device and it sends predefined independent instructions. I have no idea (?)
It would be great if it is possible to remap it to the preferred soft...
Any other idea, please.
Thanks!
Solved mapping an app to the wired headset stereo button
Solved the problem! Now pressing and holding the button in my wired headset it is launched VITO VoiceDialer as I wanted, (and probably with the same procedure the button of the wired headset can be mapped to launch any other app, although I only tested with VITO VoiceDialer, for now...).
I just edited the Registry trying to "adapt" and idea that I found in this forum here Under the title: "MS Voice Command activation from BT headset"
Interpreting that great hack, I thought that one can also make it work for the porporses I posted up here. And it did work like a charm! I needed so much this solution... So I'm glad to post it here below, to make the way shorter for others that may need this help as much as I did.
This is what was done:
1- Open a registry editor
2- Went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
3- I modified the default string marked "path", in my HTC TyTN II it was the following:
\ProgramFiles\Cyberon\VoiceCommander\VoiceCommander.exe
And I changed that for:
\ProgramFiles\VITO\VoiceDialer\VoiceDialer.exe (that's the path where I previously had installed VITO VoiceDialer).
4-Press "Done" and then "Yes" in the warning pop up dialogue box...
5-Then I just pressed/holded the button on my wired headphones and the program was launched smoothly!
I hope this can be useful
