Dumping the Storage Area to SD Card - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi
Does anyone know the memory address range for the storage area on any of the following
XDA2s / M2000
M1000/ xda2
I have loaded some programs to the storage area to preserve them after hard reset, but have to load them onto each individual unit i prep. I have a custom extended rom on card but have no space left for these files so would like to dump the area to the card as well.
thanks in advance

hi for xda2:
d2s 70000000 1fc0000

I cannot see my Sd card anymore after wizBackup!!

Hey Button...
How are you doing?
Well I got this Qtek 9100 few days ago and I tried to first backup my rom in my mini Sd card using your util wizBackup before using the newest room you made.
But the thing is I cannot see the mini Sd from the explorer anymore....
What should I do to see it again?
By the way do you know how to solve this activesync problem? I had to enable the IP settings for the PocketPc connection in order to make it work (despite of some windows error msgs after the connection), but then if I disconect and reconect again it will not work anymore.
Sorry by the length.
Thanks in advance

searching for wizBackup
I'm going to upgrade my ROM to the new one provided by Orange Entreprise.
I search for wizBackup, but didn't find it. Can anyone upload wizBackup or similar software and give me the URL please?
thanx,
Sina
Hi All!
I have the same problem: after using wizBackup I cannot see the mini SD anymore.
Formatting is impossible because card is not recognized by none of the programs which I try (ie: Pocket Mechanic, flash format...)
But I'v noticed when I insert or remove SD my QTEK is waking up but still card is not recognized properly :/
Any suggestions and help?
(sorry for my English)
Make mini SD visible again after using Wizbackup Tool!!
I had the same problem after the back up...
No tools that could make my SD card visible again, until I found this little tool!!!
With this tool you can use your Wizard like a USB memory stick and then you can format it again with your desktop Windows.
Just install and connect the Wizard with the USB and format!!!
Good luck!
Wow!!!
THX a lot Marvie. Your solution is working!
I know WM Storage, but not this way
Everything is ok now, thanks once more.
If You came to Warsaw/Poland - let me know, I own You a few beers
This method didn't work with my card but I've found better solution - just insert your card to SD adapter and then to photocamera and format it from this device. Works 100%

Help? How do you retrieve erased information from SD Card?

Does anyone know how to retrieve items accidentally deleted from a SD Card because of a hard reset? I had so many photos and I would like to see if I can get them back.
You'll hav to get a 3rd party application to do it and you're not promised to get them back. It scans the whole card and just takes forever.

a Hard reset would not delete files on your SD card. You must have had the photos saved to your phone memory.

I thought that it wouldn't erase them either. I have done hard resets before and my items were never erased before. I made sure everything I wanted to keep was on the memory card for this reason. But for some reason this time it erased everything. I guess this was one of those freak accidents. This is why I am asking for help.
I appreciate any help on this issue.
You did something wrong then because there's no logical way they could've erased that way. On the other side, you should have followed flashing procedures by removing the memory card and sim
Your so right, kareem9nba. I should have known better. Thank you for your help.
This is why every week, I copy all the contents of my SD card (where I keep everything) To my Desktop PC in a folder I call "SDBackup" I've working with Computer long enough to know, if you don't have a backup, you are asking for trouble.
People call this Murphy's Law.
I had an issue similar to this that scared the crap out of me.
I took my SD card out of my phone, powered off beforehand, and then loaded it into my speedy microSD adapter so I could copy lots of data from my computer to it. Upon inserting the card into my monitor's SD reader, Vista gave me to "You must format this card before it can be used" message.
It took 3 removals and reinsertions to get my PC and my Tilt to see the files again. I promptly backed up my files and did a full format on my storage card. Everything's been fine since.
Im a little more paranoid and do it at least once every couple of days, just because Im on the forum alot and frequently see horror stories where people end up losing alot of their stuff.
Active File Recovery 7.3 Build 101
Very Interesting Question that made me perform a new expirement
to answer your question directly best thing is to use a 3rd party application called Active File Recovery 7.3 Build 101 it will recover data even after format or delete by mistake.
but in your case its not necessary - hard reset only delete internal storge (sd card data is intact)
i did an expirement ( i stored photos and documents in my phone) and i performed a hard reset... i used Active File Recovery 7.3 Build 101 and guess what i managed to retrieve the TOC of my INTERNAL STOREAGE but not the files... but i guess if i looked for a more powerful application i could retrieve the files themselves
i flashed new rom and used Active File Recovery 7.3 Build 101 (resulting 0 files or 0 TOC to retrieve)
conclusion of my experiment that may not relate 100% with your question is if you hard rest (some of your data can be retireved) if you flash new rom or reflash a rom (0 data can be accessed) using commercial softwares
best luck and look for our experts comments

Sorry to read of your 'possible' loss. There are freeware programs out there that attempt file recovery on flash memory drives but when a similar thing happened to me out of the blue, I couldn't find one that worked well with my Sandisk 6 GB MicroSDHC and all I got were 'bits and pieces' of the files that were once there. Perhaps someone else has had a good experience of recovery software that worked well in this situation?
After you recover what you can of your files, before using the memory card again, I suggest you wipe/zero fill it to completely remove all data from it and then partition/reformat it. Sandisk offer a utility to do this but they expect you to pay for it so having lost my files on their memory card they then add salt to the wound expecting payment for a tool used in the process to get things back to normal again, what a cheek
I complained to them, mentioning that most hard disk drive manufacturers provide such a tool for free but they don't seem keen to do that. Instead I used the free HDD Wipe Tool at hddguru.com and then Win XPs own disk management function to partition and format it back to FAT32.
This is an important lesson for anyone else reading with a TyTN II - if you have anything of importance on your TyTN IIs microSD card, ensure it is backed up because there are now quite a few cases here on xda-dev like this. Personally I use Win XPs own backup utility in conjunction with the USB card reader, once I've put all my music/maps etc on the card. It's quick, simple and most importantly, free. Since I lost some (but not many) of my files on the first occasion, I've even needed to restore from backup once so don't count on your files staying there as they should.
try file scavenger 2.1 it worked well for me
good luck

HELP! how to skip bad block on my 4gb internal memory

Hi does any one know how to skip bad block on 4gb internal memory of our diamond. I've been searching for a solution but haven't found one that actually fix my problem.
Before this bad block happend to my device it was working fine. It all started when I loaded haret from xdandroid. It works fine on my device for the first few tries and afterwards It wont work.. so I keep on reinstalling xdandroid and fixes the problem after many many tries.. I've notice that files that I save on my internal memory gets corrupted. Images becomes distorted documents got messed up and apps won't install.. this is where it all started.. I've tried alot of solutions. formating using panasonic sd formater, formating from the device, formating using windows, bet problem is still there.. also one thing I've notice on HSPL 1.93 the internal memory format wont work but for HSPL 1.38 it's working ok.
I know that the 4gb internal memory in our diamond is a nand and I'm trying to find a tool or a way that can help us skip or fix badblocks or on our diamond to have the internal memory working properly again. I have found an article regarding nand. I know that there is a samsung nand that is found in our device, if im not mistaken. I found an artice that says that there is 2 basic algorithm in our device the skip and reserve block method. My problem is how to do this on diamond or is this posible on our device.
http://www.data-io.com/pdf/NAND/DataIO/NandProgramming.pdf
Here's the link of the artice that I've found while searching for a solution. Please help is someone know how to do this.
bb
I didnt think you could skip blocks on NAND
Have you tried linux > delete the full partition > create a new
Haven't tried partitioning since I don't have linux and still not familiar with linux emulators.. will try to check this if it will resolve this issue.. do you have a link on how to do this on virtual linux machine?
Please help!
Anyone having issues with corrupted files on their 4 GB internal memory? Please help! I’ve tried to do info 8 on MTTY and it's not showing any bad blocks on my internal memory. I'm really lost on how to resolve this problem that I am experiencing.
mtty is for your nand (doesn´t fix bad blocks though as far as I know) ... if you have corrupted files on your internal storage; back all the stuff up and format fat 32 with hp formatting tool. that´s it.
"It all started when I loaded haret from xdandroid." - that is what started the problem ... hp tool is the key - you can find it in the xdandroid thread
cheers ede
Tried almost everything.. My internal memory still is unsuable.. it can still be detected by my diamond and as a storage device. What I noticed is that pictures, videos and apps gets corrupted. Document files still can be viewed..
What am i gonna doo....

[Q] Setting Up New SD Card Wildpuzzle Rom 2.2

Hey guys =)
would firstly like to say that this forum ROCKS!!
incredible knowledge database that has been invaluable to my pursuits so far
I have recently purchased a 16GB Micro SD card to replace the 2GB which originally came with the phone.
I tried inserting the card fresh but the device seems to bootloop and I found that I had to partition the SD card first then transfer all the data from the old card across.
Transferring the data is not a problem (mount the new card via USB in recovery mode and transfer) however I can't for the life of me figure out how to actually partition the card in the first place, as I used ROM Manager to partition it originally.
All the threads I have found are to do with Cyanogens ROM's etc and I am just dead stuck on getting any further with this!!
Could someone possibly link me to a guide or post a guide which I can follow, with all areas covered in a simple manner - THAT WOULD BE SWEEEET!!!
Here is the main guide I am using at the moment however I cannot obviously get past 4 or 5 as this is to with the partition which I cannot do using this method...
theunlockr.com/2009/10/15/how-to-switch-to-a-different-microsd-card-on-android-when-using-swap-hero-and-or-apps2sd
Any help is welcome and once again you guys are awesome, thankyou for the vast amount of knowledge in this forum!!
download a program called partition magic, i think it should do all that you are after.
