To change the softkeys [bottom line of today screen] - Phone or Calendar:
Create
:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
Values:
(default value)="String" to display on screen [eg sth like "Phone"]
"Open"="Path to program" [eg sth like "\Windows\calc.exe"]
to modify right key use:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
Example:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112]
"Open"="\\Windows\\calc.exe"
@="Left Calc"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113]
"Open"="\\Windows\\calc.exe"
@="Right Calc"
this is nice, though i have a question.i'd like to put "new message" on the left softkey but i really dont know the path for that. could someone help me with this??
Really fun, thanx

Ah yes, now i understand my mistake... Thank you very much!
I have an SX66 (PH20B1) and am running WM5 but don't have the Keys settings within my Today folder. Does anyone know how I could change my softkeys?

By default - hose values are not in the registry. Try to ad them.
I'll try adding them then.
Doh! I just saw the cab file, which worked. Thanks!

how do you remove the icons at the bottom of the today screen in WM6?
i have already disabled Tray launch, but those icons still exist...see picture.
Remove the Battery Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Power]
"ShowIcon"=dword:00000000
Remove the Wireless Manager Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000
remove TrayAp.exe if exist
[HKLM\init]
Launch92=
look in
[HKLM\Software\HTC\TrayApplet]
search registry for tray and see what it comes up with, be careful, backup reg keys before editing
Delete - init_tray.lnk if exist from windows\startup folder.
Look for other links in this folder that might create a tray icon
When you start DFregedit or DFrunningApps, it always installs a tray icon. I believe there is no option to disable this, all you can do is not to close it with close button but with menu>exit. Or be real nice to DotFred and ask him for an option to disable the feature.
There's a blue icon in the corner that I do not know, is it Bluetooth related or a suspend or reset button? Possibly placed their by software you installed or it came with your ROM.
The buttons there are: DFRegedit, Battery, Comm Manager, Rotate Screen, Pshutoff, Bluetooth.
ok will try the removal from the registry, i guess most people love this type of setup - with tray at bottom, i find it not nice to look at, since my icons on top are large and the ones on tray are tiny, no balance...hehehe.
@Paulpax did you use rltoday for your hima ? because I try to use it, but doesn't work properly

yup i use RLTODAY and i edited the skin file to suit me. although the original skin.xml is already OK.
Hi
I am trying to do the same, found the values in the registry, edited them properly with a regeditor, but no changes. After a soft reset, the values are back as before, unchanged...
Any idea, what is happening? PHM registry editor has no "save" option, so I don't know other than to exit the application via "Tools - Exit"

Yes, this can be frustrating. On your desktop PC every change to the registry is immediately permanent, on your Hima it's not always so.
Count to 20, exit reg editor, count to 20, switch off, count to 20, switch on, count to 20, soft reset USING software!, not the hole/stylus method!, check result. Most of the time just using software soft reset also works but not always.
y dnt u guyz use CEregedit..it connects ur ppc to ur pc via USB and copy's all reg entries
please give a download link
ok here u go Maggy
wince regedit : http://rapidshare.com/files/72691245/ceregedit_setup.rar
Thanks a lot, this looks not only better than any xda regeditor, it even looks better than XP regedit! Any idea if a version for editing the XP registry exists?
yeah i have one called Registery Workshop..i will post its link A.S.A.P
im just even using the DFRegEdit that come with the Shekhar ROM, by the way, when u edit the SKIN.XML, u just open it with NOTEPAD, do editing, save, then to APPLY changes, open Settings - Today - Items - RLtoday - Options, the press OK for the SKIN to make the changes....then your TODAY screen changes.
When using the rlToday how did you make the scroll bar on the side go away?

Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the behaviour of the shortcut which is set-up by default on the shortcut page of HTC Home on my T-Mobile Vario III.
Basically, when tap the shortcut, it rotates the screen, however it rotates 90 degrees clockwise - as if it were set for 'Landscape (Left Handed)'. I would really like to be able to rotate the other-way, effectively setting 'Landscape (Right Handed)' using this shortcut. Is there any little tweak that can be performed to achieve this?
Thanks and regards,
Rob.
I'm interest on this feature too.
Thanks

Thanks, I've tried, but if it is possible I would like only to change the function of the existence shortcut because both sw have hundred of function that I don't need and come annoying for me...
If that sw does, that means that could be possible, if not edit the current shortcut, to create another... I hope that someone can help me because I'm not very practised in editing WM...
Thanks
bye
unzip and place anywhere, and create a shortcut in your home, and give a shot, it should be what you are looking for.
Thanks for the prg... but It doesn't work.. I don't know why, but it make an error.... never mind..
I made, with the precious advice of "col Cyber", a mscr file that can be use with MortScript with this code:
Code:
If(Screen("portrait") = True)
Rotate(90)
else
Rotate(0)
EndIf
It works very well!
Bye
I have as Telus HTC Touch Diamond.
I understand that the application tab can hold 18 shortcuts. After I added enough to use up the full 18, there was an additional [+] button below the last line as if I could add more. I tried to add one and the shortcut did not appear. But, yet another [+] button appeared. Again, I tried to add another. Not surprisingly, it didn't add the shortcut.. but again, another [+] button appeared.
I now have a full row of [+][+][+] along the bottom and can't seem to find any way to remove them. I did try to the remove shortcut option, but that didn't make a difference, probably because they're not shortcuts.
Any idea how to clean up my mess?
Scott
I have the same problem on my 1.93 WWE rom.

The solution is to delete the registry entries for the blank "+" items:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLaun cher\N
N is 1~18, represent each Program's item

changescreen should be fine. for further settigns pm me
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation
HideOrientationUI from 1 to 0
then START - settings - Buttons
And then if you hold call button then your screnn rotate.
gyrator 2 is also a very good program but it is not able to turn the touchflo userinterface but everything other it rotates with ease (including textmessaging etc.)
i cant really seem to either understand or find this directory "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation" ? is there a possible cahnce that you could specify it a little more so that even i understand? HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation

It is not a directory, you have to edit registry with registry editor program "REGEDIT" or some else.
If you are in registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation) then you have to change key "HideOrientationUI" from 1 to 0.

To get the action screen you have to install touchflo3d from touch pro. Of course you have to enable rotation like other posters said.

Use Advanced Config for this..
Or just change the following reg. keys:
In this case the left key is: Icontact; the right Key is Commanager
("HKLM","\Software\HTC\Manila" ,"HomeLSKPath","\Storage Card\Program Files\iContact\iContact.exe")
("HKLM","\Software\HTC\Manila","HomeLSKText","iContact")
("HKLM","\Software\HTC\Manila" ,"HomeRSKPath","\windows\CommManager.exe")
("HKLM","\Software\HTC\Manila","HomeRSKText","CommManager")

It works!, of course, I hear you say
When, as in my case, the phone is factory default then the HomeLSK.. and Home RSK... are stil empty.
I put iGo8 in it and I am verry happy!
Of course, don't forget a soft-reset.
Thanxs again!

Is there a similar key to change the Softkeys in other Tabs?
When I read an email there is the Softkey "Reply all" which I would like to change to just "Reply". I also would
Is this possible?
Regedit:
HKCU>Software>Microsoft>Inbox>Settings
Change ShowReplyAllEmailSK1 from 1 to 0.
reboot phone

I meant that was the path to put in the registry. the rest IS the registry, there was no need for me to restate that.
For text you can put whatever you want to display. Like camera, cam, whatever.
