i tried several times to CID unlock my device like described in lokiwiz post so i can set another rom on it but does not work , i always get invalid vendor id .
can someone please help me with this ???or tell me what i did wrong .

I ordered the same phone (MDA Vario) from Netherlands a few days ago, still waiting for it to come.
It seems that what i feared the most happened: t-mobile upgraded Vario ROM to the latest release (>= 2.16 if i'm not wrong) and so it is no more possible to CID-unlock (or SIM-unlock) the device. Damn!!!
I'm italian and i don't speak Dutch so i really need to be able to both SIM and CID unlock my device or it'll be just a brick in my hands!
The only possible solution i can suggest is:
- Check your ROM version to see if it's a recent one (>= 2.x) or an older (1.x). If the latter is your case then do not follow next steps and read again lokiwiz thread and istructions. If, instead, you have a recent release (> 2.x) then read on.
- download an old dutch t-mobile ROM (find it here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Tmobile/MDA_Vario_1060202_103_11210_TMNL_Ship.exe)
PS: if you're using a different model/country then download an old ROM (1.x) from your operator (O2, t-mobile, Orange, etc) in the same original device's language.
- install it (it should not require a CID unlock since it's an official t-mobile dutch release)
- CID (and SIM if you want) unlock your device (lokiwiz should work on an older 1.06 ROM as the one you just installed)
- Install the ROM (even an updated one) that suits you best.
- Last and most important: let us know if you succeded at it!!!

...yes, if you have a sd backup from the original rom problem is a 99% of users dont do one when they first get their devices,not of because they are lazy but because most people dont know that there is such haking at first.F ANY ONE HAVE A SD BACKUP IMAGE FROM THE ORIGINAL I-MATE K-JAM PLEASE UPLOAD OR PM ME.THANKS :wink:

Glad it worked Faria, that custom QTEK ROM seems to be a universal cure if you need to downgrade for some reason.

HOW TO CID. UNLOCK ALL WIZARD VARIANTS

HOW TO CID. UNLOCK ALL WIZARD VARIANTS ( THAT HAVE THE LATEST ROM BUILD )
First domload CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE. Rom from the ftp site from the above link, unpack it and just click the ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe to start downgrading. Simply follow the prompts .
After the rom are loaded go thru the initial setup as you would with any rom .
Now download the (Lokiwiz02b) from below and follow the instructions .do not forget to copy the. cab file(enable rapi) to your device and run it before running Lokiwiz.
Now run lockiwiz and unlock your machine ,your machine will reboot itself.
That’s it your wizard is unlocked.
Now simply upgrade to any rom ,you want.
a more polisheed version of how to will be posted but i got to go to work now.

If i CID unlock and SIM unlock my phone (after installing Custom 1.5 WWE ROM) and then i install latest AKU2 I-mate Italian rom, will the SIM unlock (and CID one too) be preserved? Or will the upgrade set the simlock back on the phone?

As far as I know sim unlock only is needed once as for cid I DONT know but will find out this afternoon when I upgrade to thr latest I-mate rom an then gonna try to load the o2 rom again.as for you soon to be owner you problably just need to use the lokwiz tool because your new machine problably comes with the shipping room that is older as my 2 wizards did .they are only 3 weeks old.
Note;i-mate k-jam comes allready simunlocked from factory .

Sim-unlock is needed only once as far as I know.
Furthermore I updated my Kjam (simunlock from factory) with the new english rom, then I downgraded to old Italian rom and finally I re-upgraded to Italian new rom without problems. I just do cid-unlock once.

Hi to all,
I just met with my qtek 9100, its a present from a dutch friend of mine. But unfortunately I am not dutch nor speak the language. So I want to change the language to English.
I read few topics here and dowloaded 2 different rom for qtek. When I try to upload the rom with
RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe,
the program says;
"invalid vender id"
I read the rom update utility readme file and the explanation for this error was that the update utility is wrong type. So I downloaded older version rom update utility,
Qtek_9100_RUU_Prodigy_10107105_Qtek_WWE_ship.exe,
and the same problem came up again.
So, if any of you that know how to change the language of qtek 9100, will you please spend few time to help me and prepare a "how to do" for me, step by step?

I read from the user Casablanca's posts that i could use the "lokiwiz" program. Where can i aquire this program and is there step by step directions on how to install it on my QTEK? Just search the forum and you be able to find the lokwiz, that's a program used to CID unlock the phone (only G3 models).
How to know if you have a G3 or G4?

Try a direct upgrade first - connect device to pc via activesync and click on the exe of the new rom to start upgrade.
remember to backup any important data as all will be lost - just like doing a hard reset.

FTP site has all the ROM's available, check through it and you'll see whats available. Which one to use, matter of choice and need, I'd suggest using the search function on this forum myself

Yours is quite an old rom so update to an aku2 rom english - will start with a 2 and WWE will in the name of the rom.
You didnt tell us which make of wizard you have to best advice you on what rom is good for you.

Which browser are you using? - sometimes there is a glitch there. Try disabling firewalls and antiviral on your pc to see if that makes a difference.
Tell me the rom you want and try to get direct link you want.
btw WWE is world wide english - so if you want an english rom go for one of these - if you want the menu's in german go for the german rom.

First, get rid of the red font and all uppercase... sheesh...
Second you need to read and read... You need to understand this stuff before you start flashing or you will find yourself with a dead phone.

Its in the ROM. When you put on Faria's WM6, you'll get that (he's just listing what all comes with it).

That means you have to have an IPL / SPL that are both 2.xx or higher. Don't try to do this with either IPL or SPL at 1.xx
You will have to CID Unlock your device first. So read and follow this guide (and the posts it takes you too). Don't skip steps and check your work as you go and you'll be fine

Key is, you have to downgrade, CID unlock, downgrade again (to get SPL to 1.xx) then upgrade to an official 2.xx ROM. Only after you do all of that can you then try flashing WM6 (or other custom roms).

I got a used i-mate K-Jam, the x-user was using it just as Phone(for making/recieving calls/sms). So all things(ROMs) are genuine which is

SPL 2.16
GSM 02.07.10
OS 2.16.9.1
U have cleared my confusion, so now i can proceed with Faria's WM6 (CB-AIRAF.exe 62.1 file size)
I have made a backup using aWizard (by ahlok_hk).
I also Unlocked it using aWizard (it was locked or not?i dont know, but i went through the Unlock Process & saw the msg that ur device is Unlocked now)Plz tell me how to know which device is CID locked or unlocked.
All things are ripped now...so i can go ahead with Faria's WM6...what do u say...?

I've never CID Unlocked that way. I've always used the links I pointed you to in my previous post. As far as I know there is no way to know if you are CID Unlocked for sure until you flash a new ROM. If it appears to work, but only the splash screens change (and everything else is just like it was before) then you are not CID Unlocked.
you can give it a try, but personally I'd recommend you do the steps in my previous post as that method definetly works.

I'm thinking of buying a HTC Touch 3G Jade from ebay. The thing is that it's locked to the spanish vodafone. I also have a vodafone sim but I live in Portugal. Can anyone tell me if the spanish HTC Touch 3G will work on portugal with my portuguese vodafone sim if I unlock the mobile?
One more thing, do you know if there is any official portuguese rom for this phone, And if there is, can you tell me where to find it?

If your phone has a Sim Lock then you might need to get it unlocked, there are no tools on xda to do this. However there are plenty of code sites out there.
