With the help of many nice guys on this forum and on IRC I managed to reconstruct a flashable ROM from a Vodafone VPA compact GPS romdump!
What does this mean? We finally have a working german ROM with GPS support.
I'll attach the readme for further details.

Dieses ROM ist entstanden aus dem Rom-Dump eines Vodafone VPA compact GPS.
Folgende Bestandteile werden geflasht:
- Crashschutz Bootloader (geschrieben von Des)
- Original HTC-Splashscreens
- Betriebssystem 1.23.162.2 auf deutsch von VPA (Danke an SN)
- Radio Rom 1.38.00.11 (gerippt durch pof)
This ROM is based on a Rom-Dump of a german Vodafone VPA compact GPS.
The following items will be flashed:
- Crashproof bootloader (written by Des)
- Original HTC splash screens
- Operating System 1.23.162 in german, taken from VPA (Thanks to SN)

Durch den geflashten Bootloader ist dieses Update zwar relativ sicher,
trotzdem sollte sich jeder Nutzer des Risikos bewusst sein:
Wenn beim Flash etwas schief läuft (USB-Kabel abgezogen, Stromausfall)
kann euer P3600 theoretisch für euch irreparabel werden.
Due to the flashing of a crashproof bootloader this Update should be relatively
safe. However every user should be aware of the risks:
If something goes wrong during Flashing (USB-cable removed, power outage) there is
a slim chance that your device is beyond (user) repair.
Installation
============
- Trinity aufladen
- Per ActiveSync verbinden
- ROMUpdateUtility starten und den Anweisungen folgen
- wenn SSPL kopiert ist auf dem Trinty den Programmstart bestätigen
- warten (nicht USB-Kabel abziehen, PC am besten während dem Flash nicht verwenden)
- Charge your Trinity
- Connect via ActiveSync
- Start ROMUpdateUtility and follow the instructions
- When SSPL is copied, confirm program launch on Trinity
- Wait (do not remove USB cable, better not use PC during flash)

Yesterday it was late when I released this ROM so I feel like the release was a bit rushed. For example I didn't have time to test it on a second Trinity.
So PLEASE, if you don't know what you're doing, don't update yet. Wait for someone with experience to try it and if he gives his ok, go ahead.
I'm pretty sure it works just fine but since we're talking about 500€ devices I figure a warning too much doesn't hurt.

I have the following problem:
When I start the update progress and the screen with the progress bar appears on the desktop, I have to confirm the launch of a program on the trinity. After that I get on the trinity a screen, that has a red, green, blue and white field. In the red field it states TRIN100, IPL-SSPL by Des and so on.
In the white box it says: USB. On the desktop I hear the sound like the trinity disconnects.
Just after that I get an error on the desktop: "ERROR 246: DEVICE NOT RESPONDING". I then have to exit.
After resetting the trinity it works normal.
Any idea?

They suggest to re-run the updater when you see the bootloader screen (multicolour). And to check for valid Activesync connection.
Also, if you're using Vista for flashing you'll need to find the correct driver (Activesync 4.x driver). Its available here, just search for "Vista update" or something like that.
Obviously its easier to just flash it under XP if you have an XP machine available.
Yes that was the problem, that I flashed it with vista! I did it again now on XP and it worked!!!

I disagree with me_phisto:
You don't need to unlock it, simply flash it.
The warranty is a different issue. If you flash back an original ROM before you send it in, you'll be fine. Especially important is to flash an original SPL instead of the current crashproof one.

I´ll give it a try for sure later this evening. I´ll report back on the PPC-Forum. Since I have to send it in sooner or later due to the peeling problem I simply reflash the original rom. One last question: Is there any Vodafon branding (will the HTC communication manager still be there)?
There's a differenc colour layout but no real branding. I guess this is done in the VPA ExtRom which I don't have access to.
CommManager is there.
great, I use the prog syscolor to change the color anyway.
Problems with Synchronisation with Outlook
This German ROM Update makes a good impression, but I have a problem with the synchronisation with outlook. The Dates / The Calender doesn't synchronise. Only the contacts, mails and notes are on the Trinity, not the dates.
Does anyone have a solution?

Yes, the activesync issue is a know problem.
I don't know the exact reason but it goes away for most.

If possible, let us know what change fixed it.
I had the same problem with active sync.
My solution:
i've updated my active sync. (from 4.2 to 4.5).
i've deleted all devices in active sync.
then i restarted my notebook and connected my Trinity.
Now all works create.

Finanlly we get a German GPS ROM. Works pretty well. Bass was flat first but installed the Bass Fix for every ROM and now it's perfect.

Kleiner TIPP
Macht bitte nach dem Flashen 2-3 manuelle SoftResets, damit die Konfiguration vollständig abgeschlossen werden kann, denn läuft das Telefon wie SAU!

Finally a German language ROM with 2.1 Manila and "official" WM 6.5
Will gladly test that... Although Rapidshare is annoyingly slow...
The benchmark, however, is extremely high... Touch_X has been a pure pleasure for me concerning speed, stability, power consumption. It is a perfect ROM for everyday use.
I think there must be quite some demand for nice German ROMs out there... Too many people unhappy with their stock ROM device... (but then again, too many people don´t know how to make a change).
Will report soon about my experience.
I know your expectations are very high, but I'm sure you all will not be disappointed! Although I must admit that itje makes the best X1i-ROMs ...
I wan't even compete with him! I make my own think, mainly for me.

I tested it and so far it seems stable and nice, but i switched back to the energy rom again, because i miss the programm tab in manilla and i really don't like the startmenu which is not useable and i miss the 1% Battery.
Anyway great work maybe if you change that thinsg then i will be happy to use it because the rest seems great

it is because if you have lots of programms installed which you would like to use often, you have to scroll everytime like hell to the end of the list, so it is impossible to work fast also because there is no programm tab in manilla, normaly for me i wouldn't care if one of this would be in, but at your rom both options are not in, so i have only the startmenu to start programms and there i need to scroll everytime to the end of the list to get my most used programs so for me i can't work fast with that rom, but thats just my view and you asked about it , anyway i find your work really good but the programm thing is for me to important and thats the reason why i switched back to the energy rom.

i tested a lot of romz I'm still using an wm6.1 rom (aif 2.3 or something) so i'll give yours a try it looks very nice and promissing... will see if it's that stabile like the wm6.1 is so the screenshots are very very nice i'll report if the download is finished and i flashed the stuff... hope it'll be my new rom!

I have only three little issues:
- German hardware keyboard special chars not working. I personally don't like the HTC software keyboard - is it possible to include the standard wm software keyboard and fix the hw keyboard issue?
- XPeria Camera not working - but i was able to install it using the r3a-camera cab.
- 5% or 1% battery gauge would be very nice - i wasn't able to install the sex1cons wm6.5 v.1.1 battery icons (installation error).
I'm looking forward for the next version of this rom - it has very much potential!

Ok great to hear so far i have to say: IT'S MY NEW ROM!!!
It works stabile like my revoulutionx1 wm6.1 did so far the new manila is really great i don't get that other cooks don't managed to cook in there romz - so i like you menu style very much don't think the scrolling is too much hehe how i said i like it! so keep on developing your romz so far i keep it it's the first wm6.5 that's great for me i tested all the other german romz from x10 and so on but yours i keep on my x1... so thanks again for your fine stabile good working rom - the prom selection you did in the rom is also very nice...
One little thing that could be changed or added would be the functionality that when the right button is pushed long time the phone would be locked. that would be a nice feature for fast access that function - maybe it's possible via the settings to set that i don't know and havn't tried yet but if you could add that as a personal wish from me would be great it doesn't matter if it's not possible...

Die bereits berichteten bugs kann ich bestätigen.
Das ROM ist schnell, sehr angenehm.
Die etwas andere Herangehensweise für das Startmenu ist wohl nicht jedermanns Sache - auch meine nicht wirklich.
Etwas gravierender war und ist für mich die Tatsache gewesen, dass in eben jenem Startmenu praktisch alle Einstellungen fehlen. Wer also Manila aus welchem Grund auch immer zumindest temporär ausschalten muss oder will, kommt automatisch in Probleme, weil die Einstellungen für den "Heute" Screen nicht mehr aufrufbar sind.
Verwirrend ist bestimmt auch das Länder-Setup - da ist nichts aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum vorkonfiguriert - aber das geht ja ganz schnell manuell.
Hut ab für dieses schnelle ROM - das so aber bestimmt nicht für den Massengeschmack durchgeht (wie die vom bereits erwähnten itje). Für mich fehlt dann doch der Programm-Tab und/oder ein wirklich "vollständiges" Startmenu inkl. Einstellungen etc.

Wie in der PM: probier mal das Software Update und schau, ob das Problem bestehen bleibt.
Gib mal eine exakte Auflistung der Programme, die du installiert hast?

i have installet the latest official rom from tmobile.
Wenn du ein weiteres Gerät hast (PDA), dann probiere dies mal in deinem Heimnetzwerk. Nur um sicherzugehen, dass das Problem nicht am WLAN an sich liegt.
Ansonsten gib es zurück. Man kauft schließlich keine kaputte Gebrauchtware.
Try another portable device with your wi-fi network; just to make sure that there is no issue with your network.
Otherwise just give your device back. Even second hand devices should work flawlessly.

i search a long time and flash a many rom´s to get this ready.
now i found a way to made our euro tabs update ready kies (only germany ?!?!)

5. ein Häckchen bei Auto-Reboot und F. Reset Time setzen
6. UNBEDINGT DARAUF ACHTEN DAS BEI Re-Partition KEIN HÄCKCHEN GESETZT IST!!!
7. SIM-Karte und SD-Karte aus dem Galaxy Tab entnehmen
8. Galaxy Tab ganz ausschalten
9. in den Download-Mode starten, indem man die Lautstärke runter Taste und den Power Knopf gedrückt lasst
10. im Programm Odin auf Start drücken
11. etwa 4 minuten warten, bis es fertig ist
12. es startet neu
13. öffnet das telefon programm und gebt *#272*IMEI# ein und wählt DBT aus (die IMEI steht hinren ider wenn ihr *#06# eingebt) DANKE AN ECHNATON!!!!
14. fertig es ist entbrandet und ihr könnt via kies updaten!

Snapshot builds are usually more stable than nightly ones and by fact they have less bugs and they release every month. If this is your first try then flash latest Snapshot M11 build. I'm not on CM right now but I think its stable enough for daily use, Because my Carbon ROM is based on CM and it's stable

Hello, i installed CM11 M11 for my Xperia V LT25i. I rooted my device with Towelroot, i unlocked the bootloader, and Philz Recovery. All fine, i wiped data, cache and dalvik, after that when i tryed to install zip from sd, it told me that my device is mint and i couldn't install. It took me like an hour to find an flashtool and get my device working again. What do i have to do or what have i done wrong? I want CM11, thank you in advance.

extract boot.img from the zip you've downloaded, then flash it with fastboot. reboot, press volume up and down when orange led appears and you're good to go
Hi all,
has anyone problems while accessing the internal SD Card?
Whatever I try (different nightlies over the last months, fullwipes and so on): if I try to write on the internal sdcard (e.g. with the file manager, mount point "storage/sdcard0) I get "Permission denied" error. Also if I open a terminal as root it shows the same behavior. The only way to write to the internal sdcard is via a root terminal and the mount point "/mnt/media_rw/sdcard0".
The phone is unusable for me in this state.
Can anyone help me?

I had the same issue and used the stock-rom to reformat the external SD card. But here is another idea from a German board. Sent you the link via PM, I can't post links and can only use the Q&A thread because I'm new...

Der Trick besteht also darin, die SD-Karte "einfach" mit FAT zu formatieren. Da der Befehl mkfs.vfat in Busybox leider fehlerhaft ist (siehe dazu external sd - Format SD card after playing with fdisk (No card reader) - Android Enthusiasts Stack Exchange) kann man entweder wie dort beschrieben eine andere Binary reinkopieren, oder man benutzt einfach mkfs.exfat für die Formatierung (was eigentlich kein Fat32 sondern exfat erzeugt). Folgende drei Befehle (als root) haben bei mir geholfen:
ACHTUNG: bitte den Partitionsnamen (/dev/block/vold/179:15) im nachfolgenden Code nicht einfach blind eingeben, er muss mit der Ausgabe oben übereinstimmen sonst formatiert ihr womöglich eine andere Partition was zu einem Brick führen kann!

umount /storage/sdcard0
umount /mnt/media_rw/sdcard0
mkfs.exfat /dev/block/vold/179:15
Danach ist die Karte exfat formatiert. Wenn man sie nun mittels des Menüs löscht (Speicher -> Speicherkarte löschen) wird sie wieder sauber eingebunden und die Kamera startet einwandfrei. Ausgabe des mount-Befehls sieht jetzt wie folgt aus:

Also fuseblk statt vfat - scheint aber trotzdem zu gehen (auch nach einem Neustart).
Geht also auch ohne den Umweg über Stock.

Or you could just do this; a lot simpler.
This is a great rom with fluid ui and very fast. It suffer some stutter tho when quitting an app and going back to the home screen but using stock rom for years, it's quite common actually. I can tolerate this as this problem was consistently persist when I was using stock rom. There are however some annoying bug that get me uncomfortable such as;
1. Sometimes when charging, the led light doesn't appear at all. But after reboot it's go back to normal but it still happen after that
2. My phone was suddenly reboot and I lost my homescreen. Battery was drained although it was full before that
These are just bug I encountered but overall, I like this rom. KitKat is awesome.
And the best part is we can finally get full colored emoji ??
last CM11 tsubasa build
Where can I find the last of the CM11 tsubasa builds? Were there any nightlies after CM11 M12? I can't find anything on cyanogen downloads page and the FXP CM11 download page doesn't list a tsubasa build.
