Loudspeaker.. - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

This may sound a dumb question, but when you are in a call how do you set the speaker to handsfree/loudspeaker? I didn't think it was possible, but my wife ans my phone and some how set it to loudspeaker. I had been looking for the setting for ages, and still can't find it. Must be something simple that I am missing, any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW its an XDAIIi

2mins after posting, I worked it out!!! Hold the green talk button while in call!

Voice commander and ringer

Does anyone know how to increase the volume with voice commander? and also the ringer volume. I can hardly hear the voice commander and I cant hear the phone ring...
I have the same problem
I tried several registry settings, but the ringtone volume is very low now and can't set it back to original even if setting microsoft voice command to not to speak the incoming caller id...
Anybody out there... help !!!
I think I figured this out by accident. I'm using v2.17 and have a Cardo Scala 500 headset.
To make this simple, I'll refer to the volume controls as left and right; the left side being the pda volume and the right side being the ringer volume.
When not on a call, both volume controls are visible. When on a call, the left side disappears. This is probably by design. Unfortunately, the right side volume control appears to do nothing for me when I'm on a call. I found if I turn up the left side volume way up when I'm not on a call, the Microsoft voice is very loud and almost distorted when I listen through the BT headset. But when the call is made, volume returns to an good level and is clear.
When I first got my phone, I kept my left side volume low because I didn't like hearing all the click-click-click when using the stylus. I could barely use the phone because the volume through the headset was so low. No matter what I did, I couldn't get a good volume through the headset.
Now I keep the pda volume very high so I don't have to fumble with the phone to boost the volume right before answering a call. Calls are clear even if the Microsoft voice is a bit distorted and loud when setting up the call.
I was hoping this might be fixed in the newer ROMs.
Thanks for the quick reply 100Tbps.
But unfortunately the problem i'm facing is not exactly the one you had. My problem is that the ringtone volume on the phone has reduced after installing MS Voice Command (which I want to keep). Initially I had set it to speak out the caller name while incoming call, but that reduced the ringtone volume and the volume of the announcement of incoming caller was itself very low. Then, I tried fixing that by changing some registry values, to no avail.
Now i've disabled announcing of incoming caller name, and still ringtone volume is very low. Can't seem to increase even if all the volume sliders are up at max....
Still in a fix... don't want to hard reset and install everything again...
there is a reg edit for it. i found it in a universal forum or something
Thanks a lot grinny11.
I've installed the file. Would love to see what settings the cab file changes - just to learn a bit... i'm a noob here and a wanna be power user
Anyways, all i need to do now is to wait for someone to call me  don't have a landline or alternate phone.
Will update here if problem solved.
Didn't work
maybe will have to do hard reset after all
thats wierd. it works for me. volume of voice command is just as loud as any other ring tone
quick question..
i have never used voice commander before and i could not find the current info page.
Can anyone provide a link to a page with all it can do? What else can you aside from calling contacts? does it work well? im guessing its not free
thanks

Ringtone disappears when scroll wheel is moved?????

Hi All
I recently lost my ringtone and found a solution on here, so all is fine.....EXCEPT when the phone rings, the ringtone disappears when the scroll wheel (if that's what it's called) is moved.
Has anyone else come across this problem and if so found a fix???
The phone carries on ringing silently if I move the wheel, it's just the sound that disappears and that's obviously not very good if it's in my pocket!!
I've tried pressing all the other buttons when it's ringing to see if they make the sound disappear but they don't, it's only the wheel
Any one got any ideas????
Thanks
That's not a bug.
That's a feature...
My TyTN1 did that.
My P3600 did that.
My TyTN2 Does that.
It's the only way of making the phone go QUIET without canceling the call.
Quite usefull actually....
Honestly!!??
It's a feature??
How do I turn it off????
I like that feature very much, too. When someone calls and I don't want to talk to them I just hit the scroll wheel to silence the call but let it continue ringing for them. That way they don't know I'm ignoring them. I can plausibly be out of range of my phone or some other excuse. If you press the end key or hit "ignore" on the phone screen it sends the call immediately to voicemail and the person on the other line can tell they've been actively ignored...
I don't know if it's possible to turn it off.
ive always found it usefull. but sometimes it can be annoying as OP said when its in your pocket

The beginning of every sad story I've heard about screen cracks and phone damage, has always begun with , Well the phone was in my pocket and..............
When I pull my phone from it's padded holster I always look at the caller id first and do not wish to disturb other people while I decide. I appreciate the feature
I'm guessing it's a feature that can't be turned off then

Vibe for the call waiting problem

Hey, tried searching, but couldn't fins any info on this (maybe I just suck at searching )
When I am talking to someone on the phone, and the 2nd call comes in, my phone starts to vibe. Problem is that the person I am talking to can hear vibration as well until I put him on hold and answer the call that is coming in.
Any ideas why this is and how to possibly fix it? Can it be changed so that some alert is played when the 2nd call comes in and no vibration occurs (would other person hear this alert?)
Thanks for your help.

I've got the same problem............ it's soooo annoying..
If I remember correctly from the forum somewhere, I think it had something to do with VAlert (the program that makes the phone pulse vibrate when there's a call coming in...)
Buuuut... I find the little program really useful!

Answer to Speaker

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows of an app that will give me the option to answer to loud speaker.
I had a widget a while ago that gave the option to make all calls go to loud speaker, but i would like to have the option in the call screen.
I thought i had seen an app to do it before but i cant remember the name.
Thanks
There is an app called "car mode" in the market that sets ur phone to answer call directly to the speaker. I think thats what u might be lookin for.
Iv had car mode for a while, but it doesnt work well for me as i forget to turn it on. I was hoping there might be something so that when a call comes in, i can answer the call with a button just below the caller image that answers direct to speaker. That way you can have the option everytime you get a call
bump... great idea - any solns?

Call volume too small?

Personally I find one of the bad thing in this phone is the low volume of the in call even though it seem they are already set at the highest level.
I just want to share, there is a way it will help improve or sound better. There is a setting under the phone app. Click the three button on the top right of the screen, click under setting...scroll down till you see other call setting, there is an option called hearing aid compatibility. If you have this one, i feel the calling sound is better than having them off.
Hope this help.
