What ROM upgrade utility should we use if we want to flash an HTC Wizard with one of the ROM's on the FTP?
For example, I have a K-JAM that I might want to flash with the 8125 ROM and Extended ROM (I'm actually interested in the Radio ROM, too...)

the generic upgrade procedure software is INSIDE all rom packages (they are named RUU, rom upgrade utility).
If you want to upgrade using a dumped rom (.nba file) you should use the generic aWizard utility. be careful with using these .nba files as you never know what is is exactly and there is no check if the file will damange your device or not (ruu does checks beforehand)

OK, I found the german ROM on o2xda.de but if I run it it says ERROR[296]:
NUR UPGRADE , (ONLY UPGRADE).
I have ROM 2.24 WWE and this from O2 is Release 2.21.4.2.
Is there any way I can flash it anyway? Take the NBF File and do it manual?

I downgraded now with CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe but still cant downgrade with original O2 from o2xda.de.
Now I extracted the nk.nbf file from Original update from O2 but when I try to run with ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe i get ERROR[238]: File READ.
nk.nbf is a german O2 ROM.
Problem solved!
What I did to restore to Original german o2 ROM from WWE 2.24 ROM:
1. downgraded with CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
2. Enable rapi. Copy the cab file to your device and run it before running lokiwiz!
3. Download and run Lokiwiz02b.zip (CID unlock) from here

4. Run Original 2.21 RM from o2xda.de.

I seem to have run into a few problems with flashing the rom on my charmer. Using the aWizard 1.2 tool, CID unlock fails saying ¨ERROR: ITWriteDisk¨. When I run the RomUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID, it tells me that my phone is too late a model and to update my copy of the utility, even though it is the latest available. What can I do to flash the rom with a new image? I am eager to install my own custom rom.
Hi, try to download the newest RUU from http://syndykat.pl/wizard/ruu_eng.zip. Copy the rom file to the ruu folder and start ruu. Synchronize your charmer first.

The ruu with wm5 doesnt work> connection error
The .nkb doesnt work with ruu mun> file read error

Are you sure it is .nkb? Wizard doesn't use that kind of ROM...
What?? Of course he uses. I extracted the RUU and rom file from .exe instaler.

Well,which rom you are trying to flash and which rom is at present running on the phone,plz be specific ?This problem usually occurs when trying to flash a rom in a language different then already present on the phone.Are you running a Russian or some other language OS on the phone and trying to flash with a rom in some other language ?

I have T mobile mda vario g4 and i want to install official wizard wm5 rom in german language. And i cant.
No i am running wm6.1 with english language. I had never, after the hardspl, problem with flashing g4 roms. Everithing worked perfect with muunˇs RUU.
I have english rom( all instaled roms were anglish) and i want to downgrade to official wm5 german rom. And tzhen upgrade to another wm6 or wm6.1 rom.
Why i cant??
Sorry. U are right. The rom file is. nbf , and yeah the official rom is like that.
If i try to flash it with ruu in official pack - i cant cause wrong update tool ( no connection)
And if i want to flash this official rom with munn ruu - file read error( something wrong with .nbf file)

ok,now as you have patched to ipl 2.21.0001 & spl 2.21 olip through 'HardSPL',its not possible to revert back to official rom,untill you remove the 'HardSPL' from your phone and flash the original/official IPL/SPL of your phones carrier Rom bootloaders.After only removing HardSPL and getting the official ipl/spl,it'll will be possible to flash the official wm5 rom,ok
Now,how to remove 'HardSPL', read and follow the method as instructed in the 'Sticky' in the G4 forum by dharvey "How To: Remove HardSPL"

I have very strange problem with wm6.1 rom that i would like to use, until the new paradox rom will come out. i will try it for sure.
U can read about problem in wm6 subforum in windows Mobile 6.1 slim editon thread.
So do i have any option unless to remove hardspl?

well,if you got a problem with the wm 6.1 slim,then just flash another wm6.1 latest rom e.g by 'it's right' 'TNT 19199 series Professional Rom' as I have personally used it and found it to be an excellent rom,without removing HardSPL and reverting back to official wm5 rom.Just give it a try,I'm pretty sure you'll like it and may sove all your problem,as it'll replace all the rom files of the previous wm6.1 slim rom.

To remove the hardspl u need 2 minutes. I removed it and tried to instalruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_382120_026911_tmo_de_ger_ship
Again once again i get the message from ruu = error file read.
Could somebody open that rom and look for problems.

What could that mean??

I just succesfully instaled ruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_ rom with ruu in the rom` folder. I tried also the T-Mobile MDA Official WM5 Rom (old) with his ruu and it didnt worked. Also softspl didnt work on both roms.

now i flashed wm5 rom aku 3.3 and the ipl/spl changed to 3.08 . Before was 2.26 which i got with instaling ipl/spl pack.
Is that bad for g4 with ipl/spl 3.08 , is it safe to install wm6.1 roms?????
I have an HTC P3600 from france (Originally with SFR then deblocked and serial was accepted at HTC site for update) working with english Ausdim ROM and SPL 9.99-CF and i would like to try the original french ROM i downloaded from HTC site or the original english ROM from HTC wiki.
Would that cause a problem or reblock the CIF or block install of any modded ROM later
also if i try the DOPOD original ROM would it cause same problems or not??

YES it is possible to downgrade from cooked roms to original version but always use SSPL as recommended by trinityguides.info and it will propably revert your SPL & radio version to original But not CID as I have seen.
But you have to install Hard-SPL again before installing a cooked rom.
Sometimes just installing the original rom can unbrick the phone stuck at boot screen even if failed to complete but of course this is not done using SSPL so i dont assume it is that safe

My brother bought for me X1 from Leipzig Germany its factory unlocked and has no branding. But it has windows in German.
My question is can I flash english rom vithout any spl unlocking?
and if yes please give me link which english wwe rom can flashed to my device.
I have experience with Elfin and Elfin was bought from china has chinese wm so I used wwe elfin rom and directly without unlocking it flashed.
So is there any chance that I can have englisj X1 rom original not cooked that can drieclty flash to my device?
You will need to flash HardSPL for X1 first (it's sticky on this forum), then you can flash UK rom. Remember that German version of X1 have qwertz keyboard, so if you will flash UK rom then some keys will have another function then they show.
But after that hardspl when I will change to UK can I go directly SEUS to recoknized my phone as UK phone and update via website? So if somebody have experience flashed German rom to UK generic and after that tested SEUS service please share here the results.

I have experience workign with HTC TOUCH XL USPL tool and flashed lot of roms with that tool but in HTC any time you need to flash another rom you should use USPL tool and then at some stage start RUU and flash your rom.
also if you stack in bootloader or in other stage you can always recover your phone using RUU and your device default rom.
Is this possible in X1?
Lets say I have German Genereic rom deivce I want to flash to UK rom direclty without any SPL tools and stucked in some stage with error. Can I use Kovski RUU and German Genereic rom (which is the my device's defalut rom) and recover from that stage?

You should be able to yes, obviously make sure you've done hardspl before going to the UK rom.
The SEUS uses RUU to flash the rom.
If you have your own rom (such as stock german one) then it's much much easier to flash from the SD card. Jack did a decent walkthrough of that.. but just rename the file to KOVSimg.nbh and go into bootloader (volume down and reset at the same time).
is USPL available for the X1?? or its just the HD?
USPL is not available for Xperia... would be cool if it is made available at some point, though I've already flashed HardSPL!
