O2 Battery and Date/Time - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

O2 Battery Plugin
O2 Date and time Plugin
I know it's been done before but I thought I'd place these two in one place for you all. I've amended them so that the O2 installer ****e doesn't appear when installed.

firstly, does it work good on wm5 in true vga mode
secondly, can u put up some screen shots?
thanks

Firstly I don't know as I only have an Alpine.
Secondly I haven't got the software at the moment to get screen shots.
Sorry about that, I'll try get the screenshots but hopefully someone will get them up here.
All they are are the standard Alpine Indicators from the O2 Active.

here the screen shot....

Cheers Clustered, can always count on you.

you're welcome
it will be nice if you can add AM/PM too at the clock. just some idea..

All I did was rip them from the O2 Active interface supplied by O2. I had nothing to do with creating it. I'm not that good.

I wish somebody -would- create their own, though.. I have an open bounty of $75 in another thread for one.
This one seems to have some issues...
- it doesn't seem to adhere to the font size set. Which means that all my Today screen items would be in 'small', whereas this one appears in 'regular'.
- No separate formatting of the date string from the system string.
- No separate formatting of the time string, not even from the system string. "STFmt = HH:mm t" shows the A/P indicator in the task bar, but not in the Today Sceen item.
- No seconds display (as requested by another forum post)
Also, I noticed that my taskbar clock was gone after a soft reset after installing. Looks like it resets HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt to 0 (zero): no date/time. Mine's normally 3: date and time. Naughty.

*counter deleted*

Sorry about that, shouldn't have gone off on one. I was in the wrong there. Bit of a bad mood and shouldn't have taken it out on you. Looking back I don't even know what I was on about. as a sign of good faith i have deleted that post.

No worries - I know the feeling My post also zapped, and zapped the bit in my original post, as it didn't deal with actual issues with the workings of the software itself, which is far more important.

Thanks, I have uploaded the ROM to FTP:

Enjoy!
OK, I'm sure I'm just an idiot, but I followed the instructions in the "Getting started" section, since I have the Brightpoint version of the Qtek, not the Dangaard. But I couldn't get it to work, probably because I haven't got the correct password in the editfix.bat. Can anybody help me with that?
See this thread mate...: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20770
Or read this thread, which will explain it also: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20339
And uh, have you read wiki?
See my signature for link.
Hope that helps
Yes, I did read the Wiki. Didn't understand much of it, but I did read it...
And thanks for that thread, adding the line [CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1 made it start updating! With any luck it will work. But then again with my luck...
Change the boot picture
Hello,
Updated my Qtek9090 to this version but the only complain i have is that the boot picture after a reset is UGLY. :x
They put a text in the image
www-windowsmobile-no + Qtek support number.
Is there a way to change the picture ??
I could not find anything about this ?
Does anybody have the QTEK cloud picture without the text.
Could you upload this to the FTP ?
Thx for your time
I wasn't that lucky... It just was stuck on "getting device info". Now I've got a unit that switches between showing a grey screen with USB and a grey screen with SERIAL... The annoying thing is that I remember I had that problem on one of the official upgrades, but I can't remember what I did. I probably just left it without a battery over night, though. Oh, and when I tried to restart that upgrade I saw the country ID error again. So perhaps just adding that line to the cfg wasn't what you were trying to divert my attention to in that other thread. Or was it?
Restart your computer and try the upgrade again...usually works.
And no, that was not a diversion, why should we?
I should stop using long words with serveral meanings when I don't know all the meanings myself... I ment divert in the sense that you divert traffic - showing me the way to that other thread.
ER2003Edit
Could somebody upload ER2003Edit to the blueangel >> Tool folder.
I found away to change the splashscreen  but you need the ER2003Edit software to edit the *.nbf files
Thank you !!

when a new for imate ?¿?
regards
Gotcha. I'm going with the one on the forum's FTP. I assume that's the same one as the official one I downloaded from the windowsmobile.no site. Maybe I can get my at the moment rather expensive paper weight back from "USB SERIAL"...
I often get the USB/SERIAL problem. Best thing to do is just kill activesync via task manager. I think wcescomm.exe is the one. Then just re-run the upgrade. Should run through, but it won't have anything in the screen that tells the to and from version info for the 'from' info.
Cheers

Aaargh! To quote a certain young mr. Brown with a rather round head and a wacky dog: "Good grief!" I thought I was rather computer litterate having spent the last 20 years around them, but any old dog can learn new tricks, it seems...
Finally the upgrade of the main rom went nicely, and also the extended ROM, it was very much a by the numbers job as soon as I understood where to look. Kitchen? Man, I know we've got something called that in my house... Oh yes, that's the mysteriuos room where my wife goes into half an hour to one hour before dinner and then emerges again with the food!
Finally the radio ROM, and I'm good, I hope. It will be interesting to test this stuff and see how it works! Thanks for the help! I feel like a dangerous hacker now, so look out, Norway!

How to remove the Icon of SPB GPRS Monitor.

Hi friends,
I was very upset since on my today screen, since always there was an Icon covering the Icon of Signal Strength. Which was really annoying? Since sometime inside the buildings you really want to know the strength of Signal….
I tried to uninstall SpB GPRS monitor from Pocket Pc, but twice failed, may be I installed this software in the Extended ROM (Cooked); rather it was giving so much problem and I needed another hard task to reinstall it again.
Now with grace of God I got the Solution.
I changed it through the amendment in registry key as by Resco Registry Editor.
Go on HK Local Machine →→
Software
→Then SpB Software house
→GPRS Monitor
→Showicon
→DWORD Date to Change it to 0 instead 1 and it worked…Thank GODAny other suggestion or negative impact it can give to my software …let's share with me…thank you..
Another way to do this would be to run SPB GPRS Monitor from Programs. Then select Tools/Options/Icon. Where you can change whether the Icon appears or not, and also where on the menu bar it appears.
May be easier than hacking the registry.
Cheer
RTP
moving icon GPRS
under tools->options ->icon it is possible to move the icon to the desired position.
Thought i mentioned this , because i think you didn't know.
Thanks
oh yes..i did not find it ....and it was so easy.....thansk for reply :? :?
overlapping on today screen
Hi Guys,
I downloaded the spb gprs monitor from O2 Connect yesterday, and as soon as I installed it the today screen went bonkers! All the programs work fine, but when I go back to the today screen, it seems to be overlapping. I'm not sure if I'm sending my message across right!
The letters seem to overlap different letters, such that I cant read it.
Can you guys help?
I am very new to the XDA2s, so pls explain in detail. I tried looking at the wiki pages, but there was nothing about this problem.
SG
Try changing the theme of your today screen - should sort out the screen corruption.
Hi
I had sent my XDA2s to O2 before i got the reply here.
i have now got it back from them, installed O2 plus and GPRS monitor (downloaded by O2 connect), and evertyhting works just fine.
They had probably done a hard reset or something. They havent changed any ROM version as am still running the old ROM versions.
Thanks anyway.

Displaying time on Today screen

Hi All,
I recently flashed my ROM to Pug's modified verion 1.11.162 (GREAT job Pug!!! ) and then manually removed the O2 stuff (keeping the theme only as I find it nice and simple and clean...)
I then using a registry editor removed the time from the top menu bar as I don't like that being too cluttered, however... I could swear that where it shows the date before I flashed the ROM it showed the time as well, now it just shows the date and I can't figure out how to get this to show the time as well...
Any ideas much appreciated?
G
I don't know, but on my magician WM2003 SE, it only shown like above picture. No time on it.
Regards,
Arto.
Not with the default date. But you can get it on the taskbar above.
But google for "date time today plugin" or whatever....
Just realised... probably was using the o2 date/time today plugin rather than the standard date plugin - does anyone know how to install just that 1 plugin rather than all the crud?
using Tweak2k2 you can change the time as you want also can add AM/PM at the top clock. checkout pics below
thanks
Just done it here:

Thanks Pug!!!
Much appreciated.
Again guys - great forum great job

xplode ROM vs Helmi

I've installed xplode's kitchen, just his own with all but terminal services checked, and it gave me a very strange glitch, where on the initial setup screen, there was no background -- only text and buttons. So I had to imagine where I need to paste that 11 o'clock. Then it did setup, but the today screen had all-white background, with no text in sections but only small icons between the lines. And the bummer was that the phone had the same white square where the keypad and number used to be! Nothing except top and bottom bars. After a couple reinstalls it became just very slow... Even on the initial attempt it didn't install at first so I had to run the installer the second time.
Fortunately, I needed to do a reinstall anyways to get rid of ExtROM, so I downgraded to 2003SE, removed ExtROM, and then installed Helmi's. It gave me the setup screen right away, and I was really happy! So I forgot to insert the SD card with ExtROM right away -- just did it afterwards and ran Autorun manually, then clicked on all three CABs. Is that OK? Looks like it differs from wiki, doesn't it -- no Middle Eastern CAB, etc.?
In any case, under Helmi's, I have a normal Today screen and a good-looking Phone. Why did their backgrounds disappear under xplode's?
Obviously, helmi's at 5.04, while xplode is at 5.35. xplode's has newer office mobile parts. I'd appreciate people's comparisons, and xplode's suggestions on how to fix the background issue!
because in mine the default checked things fill the rom space almost completely but if you check more, the rom in the most of the time is unbootable, in your case it boots to some state ... keep an eye of the free spacee left at the end of buildong of the rom.
The version of my rom is like that because i modified it, the drivers are the same as AKU2.3, in helmi the drivers are modified
Side Note, the title of this thread is misleading, and sounds stupid, for more info on both roms you can read the proper threads
xplode, thanks for the explanation -- I did read many threads, still that's a lot of data to parse. So how do I make sure, after running CreateROM batch, that the ROM will fit -- what exactly do I check?
Also, the comparison is not stupid at all -- when someone sees two ROMs, the first question is, how exactly are they different? Which one is newer and, well, better, right? Nothing wrong with that. Obviously there were reasons for you guys to come up with two different versions -- hence the questions. Reasonable?

Help needed with appearance of phone

Guys, I'm very much a newbie to all this and have a few questions which I was hoping for definitive answers to (I've searched the threads and there seems to be some ambiguity)
1) Can the call history and calendar options under the clock be removed/changed? If so how? (some people say "no" but one talks about changing some kind of setting!!)
2)Has anyone got a way to put the black HTC theme onto the O2 branded ignito without loosing some of the text (black text on black background on some tabs)....WITHOUT FLASHING....(I think the answer to this is "no" at the moment but if someone could remedy it I would be grateful. I did try it using info on the forums, but aswell as being unable to see some text, it also seemed to slow the phone response time down to a ridiculously slow level.
3)An idea which I think all newbies would appreciate is a really simple guide as to what are the ESSENTIAL tweaks (if any) everyone should make to their phone. I don't mean an endless list, but simply which ones will increase performance, save battery power etc.
Other than the above points, I have to say that I am 100% happy with my new phone. I've never had a WM type phone before and I cannot understand how I managed without one before. I am making plans to learn the basics of how it all works, then maybe have a go at writing some apps etc (If anyone knows of an 'idiots guide' to the whole WM XDA thing please let me know.
Just for your info in case it helps:
ROM 1.93.206.3
Radio 1.00.25.05
Free phone, 600mins, 1000texts, unlimited browsing:- £20p/m
Thanks in anticipation of useful replies,
Matt
Hi Matt.
I'm a fairly novice newbie too - had a T-Mobile compavt IV with the white/pink T-Mobile branding which I did not like at all - and decided to Flash after exhaustive forum research etc .... and managed it with a huge sigh of relief.
Anyway, still would be apprehensive about flashing if I had to do it again
But have been playing around with a few visual tweaks - so here's my 2p's worth - hope it helps.
1) No idea on this one - sorry
2) Found a theme that should allow you to use a cool (in my opinion of course) Black theme - http://sharebee.com/9071012f details with in this forum link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419799&highlight=black+diamond+theme&page=5
first you need an app called Diamond TF3D Config - cab file attached
Then download the Black Diamond Theme file. Run Diamond TF3D Config, click on "Appearence" tab, and under select theme, click on path and double click the folder where you downloaded the Black Diamond Theme file then click on "ok". Now in the box under "Select Theme", click on the down arrow button on the right and select Black Diamond Theme. Then click on save at the bottom of the page. This asks that you reboot, do so and you should have a classy looking Black Diamond Theme
3) Diamond TF3D Config also has some good tweaks that should increase performance - but unfortunately battery life will always be a huge drawback with the Diamond ... my solution was to get a second battery and a desktop charger that charges the phone and the spare battery at the same time - and I carry a charged spare whenever I go out - search e-bay for the battery and charger.
Hope this helps ... good luck
Vijay
