I have recently installed Pug's rom, latest one with camera fix and o2 stuff stripped, and now my pda doesn't want to play mp4 files which I used to set as ringtones...
But I left my ext_rom as it was before - because of it's russian =)
Windows media player says mp4 it's unknown format, and TCPMP says that that format was stripped of because of privacy policy =|
does anybody had same problem?
And today I lost wifi button in the bottom... Rotation of a screen button disappeared in about 2 hours after reflashing, and in two days disappered wifi icon...now there only BT icon left which I really don't need, but wifi icon is vsery usefull to switch it on and off faster...
what do you think can help? reflashing or hard reset only?

Hello, I installed the latest WM5 build from
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
Including the available patches.
I did not update the radio, so its still at 1.12.0 I believe is the correct version, but so far everything seems to work ok, except there is no Album for viewing the photos and videos from the camera application, and one really annoying problem with sound, if I run Windows Media player, and then play a file video or audio, then close WMP, the audio is no longer function in any aplication, without a soft reset.
Any ideas on this, I tried the unidirectional patch from Imate which worked previously on WM2003SE when I encountered no sound on the phone (unrelated to WMP as far as I know)
Thanks
Chewychewytoo
you havent installed the album patch,
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Patches/Album with midi.rar
then install cab as normal, put device in stanby for a min, then turn back on and reboot.
you should have your album working ok./
I installed the album patch, but the audio issue remains
I found and installed the album patch that worked, but what about the audio stopping working after closing media player, requiring a soft reset...
Audio stopping working after closing media player
Looks like this may be a problem with spbpocketplus 3.0, I was using it to close apps with the added x button it adds to applications. I added an expection to the pocket plus config so it would not close wmp and then I played with it and was able to stop the audio playback, then "close" wmp which only minimized it due to the exception, and sounds still worked elsewhere, then I was able to use the task manager in pocket plus to close wmp and it closed it completely then I was still able to play sounds.
So I now I have a working Imate PDA2k with WM2005 with all the known patches and several apps working successfully.
Thanks to all the work done by the folks posting on this site!
Very cool, now we will wait and see what Imate comes out with. I would like to see an xda-tools util to back up the rom to SD card like the old HTC devices supported, but I am sure its only a matter of time.
Just use a different media player, such as TCPMP...
Im having trouble with WMP all of a sudden. It simply refuses to play anything from my memory card nor will it stream anything from the net.
Playing stuff from the ROM works just fine though.
This started happening after I installed a CAB which supposedly was meant to increase codec support in WMP. (Found it here in a thread whixh I cant seem to locate again.)
I uninstalled this 'addon' but it still doesnt work properly.
Is there any way to repair or reinstall WMP?
Any help would be appriciated
(Reccomending alternate players is not any help in this case though. )
I say hard reset...
I was hpoing that someone perhaps could post their default reg entries for WMP and/or package their wmp associated files in a zip or something.
My WMP version is 10.3 18125, if someone could 'rip' their settings and files that would be very much appriciated!
I had similar problems too after I did the registry tweak to speed up SD/MMC transfer speed. In fact, that tweak caused alot of file reading issues for me. Have you checked if you have done this tweak too?
Thanks vicott, you the man!
Really strange, I've been using it for several days (several hours a day with loads of different apps) and WMP was the ONLY app that had a problem with this tweak.
Guess I'll leave it disabled for now.
Or maybe try 128 instead of 256 for the tweak.
Edit: nope, still no go, only 64 seems to work.
When I add new music to my internal storage via Active Sync and WIndows media player, all files are transferred correctly, so until now no issues.
But when then navigating to the Music tab in Touchflow3D, The screen says it's searching for new music (no little circle on the toolbar appears) and stays there forever searching.
After 1 day I decided to reset the Device and then when going back to the music tab, it searched again but now got the little circle running in the toolbar and after 1 minute all the files were scanned.
I'm using build 35
Anyone else having this issue or is it normal you have to reset your device after new music has been loaded ?
Or is there a tweak or option I didn't see yet ?
yep having the same issue - i have not been able to find a solution so am going to try getting shot of the music tab and install S2P
try updating your library via windows media player
Yeah i tried this - i deleted the file in HTC under apps data to force a new search but no joy - I can add 1 or 2 files and it works as soon as I put a good few on it stops working no matter what!
Hi all,
This is my first post but I hope it will help. Also, beeing french, it might be crawling with mistakes.
I've been looking around for a way to have youtube working on my Kaiser. Here is what I wanted :
- possibility to launch youtube videos from the m.youtube.com site
- possibility to watch TV (from the SFR portal page)
- using HTC streaming media to play the videos
Here is what I did not want :
- using youtubeplay (which is a great app but I like to be able to search or to play specific videos)
- using the TCPMP plugin (for no specific reason except the I was deadlocked on using HTC streaming media)
My config is :
- HTC Kaiser
- ROM : ROMeOS v4.1 with some tweaks for french (keyboard mainly)
- SFR Illymithics (France)
After several unsuccesfull atempts (despite searching the forum), I finally found a solution.
First, I installed the HTC diamond streaming player found in this forum (thx P1Tater for posting it). Appart form updating the app to a newer version, I did not change the fact that I couldn't play videos. The error message was always the same : "error connecting".
Second, I added the following REG key :
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StreamingDShow]
"OpenOriginalUDPPorts"=dword:00000001
Videos are now working perfectly.
For the record, I did not find the solution. A friend of mine had the same problem with his Diamond. He found a cab version of HTC streaming media which seemed to work. I tried it on my Kaiser and except for the VGA interface, videos did work perfectly. I then compared this app with the one listed above and I found 2 differences :
- the above reg key
- a newer version of Emz3GPStreamingFilter.dll
The new DLL did not seem to improve anything so I just droped it.
Since the Diamond working cab was sent to me by email, I don't want to post it here 'cause I do not know where it's from. It's called Tom's HTC diamond streaming media (or something similar) if you wish to look for it.
Well I hope this help.
Thanks for your feedback but.... the m.youtube.com already works fine with the french shipped rom, isn't it ?
I don't know about the French shipped Rom. If you mean the WM6.1 FRA found here, it did not work for me. I did not try going back to the the SFR ROM which is still in WM6. i tried several other Roms (French or others) found here but had the same issue. What's your Rom based on ? Any preferences on the existing roms ?
Thanks for your post. I am facing the same problem ...
the registry key that you mention, how did you find it?
Nice, I'm going to have to try this out. I keep getting the "connecting" issue.
for your first post this is good work and another way of getting youtube to work for people.
-youtube player works great
-skyfire as well
add your tweak to the list (although I haven't tested it yet I acknowledge you and your friends discovery)

Well, as I explained, after trying several version of the streaming media app, I finally stumbled upon one that actually worked. Since it wes for VGA, I had to find what difference there was to other streaming media app.
I do not know what this reg key means or even does. I just point out that whithout it I could not get youtube video working.

Well, I know youtube player works. However, you can only see predefined feeds (or maybe you have another version of the player)
I do not know about Skyfire but it says you have to be in the US to get it so I ll have to wait for the first official release.
Thanx alot!!
Maybe the solution
I had that problem to.
it wasn't even possible to connect with messenger .
what i did was..!!
I have disabled the proxy using of my g/3g/HSDPA connection and it works fine with streaming media on my tytn2 kaiser..!
I hope this will solve your problem..
How To;
1 go to start
2 Go to settings
3 choose tab connections
4 click on connetions.
5 modify excisting connections
6 choose tab proxysettings and disable the using of the proxyserver
I hope this will solve your problem..

I screwed htc media...
I think I screwed htc streaming media.
I have an XDA Orbit II with htc streaming media 2.2 (built 1026.711) pre-installed. I could open Youtube videos from Explorer with no problems.
I installed flash player 2.1, real-player and TCMP as I was playing with Opera 9.5 (as many of you…)
The result is that htc streaming media (using Explorer) is not associated with youtube videos anymore. I have removed all other players form the ppc but it still doesn’t work. Every time I click on a video I just see the opening bar for 1sec and that’s it.
I tried to re-install htc media I found in the post but It doesn’t work (installation unsuccessful).
Does anybody know how to configure the htc again?
I went in the reg but I don’t know the keys to change.
Please help
I'm very thanks for you

I've downloaded HTC diamond streaming player from the link and added the registry but still won't play after showing Buffering activity for 7 secs.
Help please....
Great! Thank you very much for this registry key:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StreamingDShow]
"OpenOriginalUDPPorts"=dword:00000001
Thanks.

My reg key is ok, but i can't stream video from youtube app and m.youtube.com
In my app says, connection error, i have working 3g internet, everything is ok, only youtube stream. Any idea? i have HTC Diamnond Touch (DIAM100) wm6.5 sense 2.5, ROM: Freya WWE 23134
This rom is perffect form me, but streaming is not ok. Thanks
Is there any youtube downloader that is working on this device?
Since I switched off TF3D I was able to control WMP from my bluetooth headset. But recently that stopped working - it may have had something to do with certain Today plugins I installed (and subsequently de-installed).
Does anyone know of any registry settings that govern how the bluetooth buttons for track changing and pause/play are handled? If I switch TF3D back on, the music tab handles the bluetooth buttons fine.
I just can't get them to work with WMP. I'd rather not have to do a hard reset. Please don't suggest any other music players - I already have Coreplayer and it won't work with that either and I don't want to buy any more music software, ta.
Thanks for any pointers!
It's OK I've sussed it - downloaded and ran AVRCP and it seems to have fixed the problem :O)
I have the same problem! But on my device the program crashes. I get no feedback but the failure-notize of windows mobile. Can you tell me the download link of your version of AVRCP?
Thank you!

When I ran AVRCP it appeared to do nothing at all - as though it had crashed (although I got no failure notice). After a soft reset, the bluetooth controls just started working :O)
