Like faster response, more memory, no tMobile stuff, Wifi from B to G... ??

I'm also thinking of "upgrading" to Qtek or Kjam flash, but I can't find responses on the result.......

I have a dutch Qtek login , but there no dutch rom on the support site . They expect to have a rom update in February 2006 . :roll:

... no problems at all... my friends has a Vario and change the OS to Qtek..after the update he also updated the radio rom seperate to 1.12.10 i want to flash tomorrow seperate the radio rom to 1.13.10

Got the QTek NL ROM 1.3.7.10 as well. Works great! Also got the Qtek Radio 1.13.0 flashed seperatley.
I'm sure the latest T-mobile is the fastest at the moment, to bad I want my device to be Duthc

1.3.7.10 is dutch, Radio Rom is i think portugese but that doesn't matter for the Qtek.
The English WWE ROM i think 1.6.7.0 is the fastest

Tried to install the Qtek ROM, but it said something about the Vendour (don't know if I spelled it correct) wich is T-mobile in my case, and offcourse it needs to be Qtek. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

You need to 'CID unlock' the device first. Look around on this forum. There is enough info to find about flashing your device
Why not working with my device?! It crashes when syncing..
My Vario is slow and crashes too many times (TTWM5), many times it can't read my SD unless I reset the device; so I wanted to upgrade my rom.
But....: I got a real problem when I want to update my dutch MDA Vario....
The ppc is set to basic, factory. I can connect to my PC('s) with my cable. But.... when I start the dutch OR the english update the device crashes after a while. Then connection goes down and 4 big stripes appear to the device-screen. The updateprog on the pc gives an error and the prog closes. I run 2000NT (on both pc's). Who has me the answer? btw: I did already succesfully unlock the device. Fortunately I can soft-reset it without probs.

This is a Qtek official upgrade so you just need to run the installer and you'll be done with it without much hassle. I personally prefer i-mate's KJAM ROM since it is newer and in my opinion it runs a bit faster. To have i-mate's ROM in your Qtek, you have to do CID unlock (using Lokiwiz). Search the forum for this info.
I had a Qtek 9100 before.. it has a dead bluetooth hardware. Now, if you know where I can get this thing serviced I would appreciate it. Anyway, in place of my Qtek 9100, I purchased Cingular 8125, CID unlocked it.. and run i-mate KJAM's 2.17 WWE Rom.

Why do I have to make a CID unlocked, because I bought Unlocked, it means I can use it with any GSM Company.
When you made a ROM upgrade, you are also upgrading at the same time Radio Version, Protocol Version and Ext ROM Version.

You don't need drivers, just download and install Activesync 4.1 after that plug in your USB cable and the device gets recognized.

Whenever I go to this link it says "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.

Try a direct upgrade first - connect device to pc via activesync and click on the exe of the new rom to start upgrade.
remember to backup any important data as all will be lost - just like doing a hard reset.

Yours is quite an old rom so update to an aku2 rom english - will start with a 2 and WWE will in the name of the rom.
You didnt tell us which make of wizard you have to best advice you on what rom is good for you.

Which browser are you using? - sometimes there is a glitch there. Try disabling firewalls and antiviral on your pc to see if that makes a difference.
Tell me the rom you want and try to get direct link you want.
btw WWE is world wide english - so if you want an english rom go for one of these - if you want the menu's in german go for the german rom.

I did look at many of those posts earlier. I'm not trying to install another operators ROM or any cooked ones- just the 'official' T Mobile UK one, that is if they have an update to the one I already have.
I also asked T Mobile staff, but they gave me a blank look!
Try Offical AKU3.3 WWE.It's best ROM!Better than any WM5 or Wm6 ROM.(also it's WM5 ROM).
