Dutch T-Mobile rom vs Dutch Qtek rom

I have an MDA Vario with the Dutch T-Mobile rom , and I want to change that to the Dutch Qtek rom .
Does the performance improve when I change and are there extra features on the Qtek rom ?
Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of such an upgrade ?

... no problems at all... my friends has a Vario and change the OS to Qtek..after the update he also updated the radio rom seperate to 1.12.10 i want to flash tomorrow seperate the radio rom to 1.13.10

Got the QTek NL ROM 1.3.7.10 as well. Works great! Also got the Qtek Radio 1.13.0 flashed seperatley.
I'm sure the latest T-mobile is the fastest at the moment, to bad I want my device to be Duthc
Think we probaly have to wait until march, heard that there will be a major update by than.. ..we'll see...

1.3.7.10 is dutch, Radio Rom is i think portugese but that doesn't matter for the Qtek.
The English WWE ROM i think 1.6.7.0 is the fastest

Tried to install the Qtek ROM, but it said something about the Vendour (don't know if I spelled it correct) wich is T-mobile in my case, and offcourse it needs to be Qtek. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

You need to 'CID unlock' the device first. Look around on this forum. There is enough info to find about flashing your device

Why not working with my device?! It crashes when syncing..
My Vario is slow and crashes too many times (TTWM5), many times it can't read my SD unless I reset the device; so I wanted to upgrade my rom.
But....: I got a real problem when I want to update my dutch MDA Vario....
The ppc is set to basic, factory. I can connect to my PC('s) with my cable. But.... when I start the dutch OR the english update the device crashes after a while. Then connection goes down and 4 big stripes appear to the device-screen. The updateprog on the pc gives an error and the prog closes. I run 2000NT (on both pc's). Who has me the answer? btw: I did already succesfully unlock the device. Fortunately I can soft-reset it without probs.

The only non-test aku2 rom available is from imate

does the test rom have that ****ty white battery meter at the top as well? (the one that tells you the battery is full, half full, or empty)

yes the test rom does have the three bar meter, but it also has A2DP, which the official release does not.

it's possible downgrading from this rom to an older one? 'cos i've read that some people had problems with that
now i'm running 1.3.7.5 spanish, and i want to try the newest one but first i want to ensure that it's gonna be possible getting back

bleh. i downgraded from the official imate rom because of that gay battery meter. i wish there was a way to remove it.

Hi Ximenin,
I've tried downgrading without success.I asked several times for help but no reply.I advise you to wait for the official release rom from Qtek or you will mess up your device like i did to mine.

juse use awizard 1.3 and you will be able to downgrade/ upgrade to any rom you want

Ximenin,honestly it is not my intention to scare you,but listen since I upgraded to this new rom my device reboots constantly,freezes and so on.
Maybe pilpel can help describe exactly how to downgrade using version 1.3 cause I've tried it without any luck.I just want to spare you the pain and anger I'm going through now.

I know that there is a WM6 for BA out there for a week, but have not tried out yet. Try search around here in this forum first for the WM5, which is very rich

There is NO WM6 for the XDAIIs (Blue Angel).
There are numerous WM5 ROMS for the BA though.

The forum is in Vietnamese, but the ROM is entirely in English. I have seen some screen shots, and they are all English. Have fun, dude. I am waiting for a vacation when I can make change to this one

I doubt it is windows mobile 6, the guy has not shown the version in any of there screeshots and apart from that, one of the screenshot attached here , dats xplodes R5 screenshot

if i remember well...it was said that the new rom is about 64MBs...however you can download from the link mentioned a 34Mb file in which extrom folder contains a 7Mb camera template cab...

I've tried it
I was also quite doubtful there would be an R6 for our BA, but since I'm about to re-install it, I decided to download it and give it a try.
And I confirm that it's still WM5. Some of the icons have changed, but it's still the same old thing with some WM6 icons.
Some details:
OS build: 15706.3.5.2
the default device name = PDAViet. Which is a known ROM "builder" on the UNI Forum.
Need some more testing, but all and all it seems to be working.
So, maybe it's all new, but it may have a few elements you may care for.

Hey maaan, thanks a lot, this ROM is perfect... I have Upgraded it at about 30 minutes ago, and i'm trying it.... I think it is not WM5 with WM6 icons, because everything is like in WM6....perfect, wifi works (i have tried to find wifi-net, it found it in 2 seconds...), BT too (i have tried only with my USB-BT on PC, and connect it), GUI is beautiful, nice themes.... PERFECT....
only one thing is bad - there isn't any FILE EXPLORER, but you can install total commander with active sync and then you can search your SD card or memory Phone works too (I have 1.15 Radio ROM)
And one thing which i don't like (but i had got same problem with explode ROM too) : Camera has got one white pixel.... so big white dot on the photo but nevermind..... this is super ROM Thank you again buddy...

So, it is right, it is WM5 with really realistic WM6 Interface.... but still perfect ROM

yes thanks a lot. i also upgraded my O2 XDA IIS and its working perfect. great Rom . one little question. when i display my syatem info. its showing 96 MB ram instead of 127 Mb. and also. its not displaying any Extrom version.

when i was using 2003 on my O2 XDA IIS. i perform hard reset by pressing the top power button and the reset button. and now i have upgraded to wm2005 and again i am doing this. but it wont work. its only soft resetting. so anyone know how to perform hard reset. so i will get my registry setting to defaults. cause i made many mess in the registry for tweaking

OK - that's a valid reason! (about the only one there is )

if i ever were unfortunate enough to get a pda in my native language i would go though fire to get it turned english most reason tend to be lost in translation and most programs one install are in english anyway so better to get 1 language then sad mix

Listen - there must be at least 5 threads dedicated to Radio ROMs in this forum. Use this http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all to search for Trinity Radio and you will find.
I am aware of versions 1.38 1.41 1.46 and 1.50 - and it's all in English -
Keep the google link to hand - you'll find the answers to nearly everything by going down that road!

There is no indiaction of how large the file is, the transfer rate is 11.6kb/Sec????

Have used TLR 2 and 3, both very good ROMS but am currently using SwiftBL WWE Diamond ROM V4.0, the ROM is very quick, up to date and give you plenty of free storage and memory left after installation which is what persuaded me to change to it.
All the ROMS here are very good, some more customized than others so you either look through the different threads and compare the differences or try every ROM and see which one suits you

Stock 1.93
Mainly to destroy the ugly t-mobile pink theme. And oh yeah, touchlflo3d works significantly faster than 1.37.

Take a screwdriver and dismount the screen, the Rom version is placed behind.
If you can't find it here, go to "Parameters/system/Device info" and you'll find it, it should be a better and safer way...

I'm on same version. Had problems with slow touchflo3d and applied some fixes from this page and it seems much better now (fingers crossed).

flash the rom...the speed will shock you

I'm using bepe's 0.95 german Basic ROM (1.93 ROM). It's damn fast, stable and most of all very clean (130MB free storage).

Yeah using the UK updated rom version 1.93.405.1 (RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe) from HTC with updated Radio (.5) which is supposed to give better coverage and battery. Coverage went up by about one bar for me to total of 2 on 3G..
Phone is MUCH better with this ROM than the Orange one. Touchflo much snappier, phone faster. I did do the tweaks from Schaps advanced configuration tool and the TouchFlo3D config Tool.
Dont seem to have any memory leaks like others have reported even when using Opera.

The Orange voicemail indicator works 100% with this ROM too and TomTom 7 works with around 7 satellites I got (TT7 NOT in ROM) !
Hasnt locked up once since flashing unlike Orange one. Im sure it will but been better than before so far

At the risk of sound like a super-noob, if you flash over the UK orange ROM with another one do you then loose things like the data-settings and other phone-settings you have to then re-input?

A new rom will detect your network and re-set all data settings.

from the polls most ppl are still using the stock 1.37 eh...
i heard the cooked roms are great.. and i do love the aestheticity of minimalism that most cooked roms offer.. great job
but i guess after tinkering so long with 1.37.. kinda tedious (and also lazy) to reflash the rom and do up everything again... i dun suppose we can port over everything after i reflash by using porgrams like Sprite backup since we are on a different rom..

My signature tells enough, though I am surprised to see so many 1.37 Stock rom's.
Probably the same people who mention about hot batteries , what hard SPL to use etc .
Honestly, each 1.93. 831 build is OK and better than the 1.37 , and some have more or less bugs & tweaks inside.
I currently use Dutty 1.1lite as it has the latest builds onboard and plenty of space.
