I updated my cingular 8125 with the recent Imate k-jam rom (K-jamK-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.zip) and I am very pleased with the change. Since then, there have been other rom updates and cingular branded updates - can someone comment on whether these newer rom updates would be significantly better than my current rom 2.16.9.1 WWE (radio 2.07.10) that seems to be working ok (certainly much better than the original cingular rom

Author's conclusion is that ROM 1.6.7.1 with radio 01.13.10 is the fastest EDGE and USB connection speeds with stable ROM. I'm using a ROM 1.6.11.1 with 01.13.10 radio with great results.

Your iMate KJAM is a HTC Wizard thus the author's recommendation of ROM 1.6.7.1 & Radio 1.13.10 is valid. I have a MDA Vario and flashed to this combo with no problems. There is no "best" ROM as the hardware is basically all the same.
By reviewing this xda-developers section on Wizard, you'll form an impression on what works and what doesn't and the pluses / minuses of each.

Look in aWizard ROM util link
Forgive me gentlemen as I am very new to this specific device... I ran the Awizard tools and used the CID unlock and backed up that file... I'm assuming that is to restore it incase of sending in for warranty?
I then backed up all (radio, rom, extended)
Okay so now my question is... Can I just run the Qtek rom executable or should I used the Awizard tools to do the Radio and Rom seperately...
Is there any difference? Can I even just upgrade by double clicking the executable? Will it give me a new extended rom then?
Finally, is there any software differences between the Qtek and the Imate?
I just want to use the Qtek rom until the latest I-mate rom comes out.

I was using the 1.13.x radio ROM and I never got above two bars even in spots where my Sidkick2 had a full set. I dropped down to 1.10.x and now it works almost as well as the SK2. Im using the 2.8.somthing test ROM though

I just have my Qtek 9100, and am really happy with it! I used to work with a very old ROM version, something like 1.1.7.5, and patched it to the 2.8.7.1 version, which really improved software speed etc.
What I was meaning to ask:
I have runned several different ROMs now:
Qtek: 2.8.7.1
I-Mate: 2.16.9.1
MDA Vario: 1.6.2.2
(The version numbers may be off a bit, but I'm actually concerned about the brand)
Is there one, which is like -- the best -- or something like that?
I used them all, and for what I can tell, the Qtek and I-Mate are both fast, and the MDA Vario ROM was really like hell...
So, if you all could post wich ROM you use and why, please!

Except if you want the added BT functionality like A2DP... the iMate rom doesn't have A2DP which I discovered to my annoyance last weekend.
I just got a wizard and it is an MDA 1.6.2.4 WWE rom, which is not included on your list.
where can i download qtek 2.8.7.1 rom ??
I'm using 1.6.2.4 but if you send me the latest one I appriciate so I can upgrade my Qtek9100.

I installed 2.16.9.1 isnt this the latest ROM and doesnt this ROM support PUSH. If not please let me know what the latest ROM is and where I can find it.

The latest seems to be the Qtek 2.17.7.2 (Feb. 6th 2006)
The Qtek seems to be almost identical to the iMate you have installed though.
Just flashed my T-Mobile MDA to 186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship.exe, the flash fine, however i'm questioning if it was the best decision. I was happy with the new KJAM rom K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.exe that was release in feb.
The question is what's your overall experience with the new Qtek AKU2, i been running it for one day now, and i think the KJAM rom is more stable? Thoughts?

Got a little question for you guys,
Right now I have a Qtek 2.18 Rom installed (which I like very much), but wanna do a hard-reset and was thinking about an upgrade to a newer Dutch Rom.
The only newer Dutch Rom is the T-Mobile 2.21 Rom, but I DO NOT like all the T-Mobile customisations.
So my question is, if I install the T-Mobile Rom and then cut it off right before the customisation tools, will it be a clean Rom then, almost the same if that I would cut of the Qtek 2.18 Rom just before customisation tools will be installed? Or do I still have a lot of T-Mobile junk installed?
If it will be a clean WM5, I will install some of the Qtek and some of the T-Mobile Extended_Rom CABS to get a "normal" WM5 again (with MMS folder, ClearVue PDF and stuff like that).
I ask this question because as far as I know I CAN NOT downgrade to the Qtek 2.18 Rom again once I upgraded it to the T-Mobile 2.21 Rom (am I right?) so I cannot test it out for fun

Upgrading from Qtek 2.18 to T-Mobile 2.21 Rom (no problem!!)
Right now I am at work and got very bored, so I started to do some things for myself....like upgrading my Rom
Although I didn't got an answer to my questions, I took the shot and upgraded to a Dutch T-Mobile 2.21 Rom (with the chance that if I didn't like the T-Mobile Rom full of crap, I couldn't go back to my Dutch Qtek 2.18 Rom!).
So before my lunchbreak I upgraded it to the 2.21 Rom, tested it out for about 2 hours and came to the conclusion that it just sucked. I really don't like ANY carrierlogo's, skins, green batterymeter in the taskbar and other stuff of T-Mobile (cause I hate pink on my phone, it's not a gay or girls phone!).
So I tried to downgrade it and guess what, right NOW (while I am typing) my Rom is downgrading from T-Mobile 2.21 to Qtek 2.18 again without ANY problems!
This are the steps I have done with my Wizard (from the moment I got it):
- CID Unlocked my T-Mobile 1.08 Stock Rom
- Upgraded to this Qtek 2.18 Rom: RUU_Prodigy_2180706_21807106_20710_QTEK_Generic_DUT_Ship_2
- Upgraded again to this T-Mobile 2.21 Rom: RUU_Prodigy_2210205_22102108_021911_TMO_NL_DUT_Ship
- Downgraded my 2.21 Rom to my (good old) Qtek 2.18 Rom: RUU_Prodigy_2180706_21807106_20710_QTEK_Generic_DUT_Ship_2
So I don't understand why it's possible for me to downgrade/upgrade to whatever Rom I want and that other people have so many problems with this issue.
When Qtek releases a new Dutch Rom (hopefully an AKU2.3 Rom) I will upgrade my Wizard and will see if I can still downgrade it again.

How did you make super CID? What tools did you use for it? I have Qtek 9100, ROM version of this device is 2.17.7.2 WWE.

I did the following operations to make the device SUPER CID:
I synchronized the devece with Active Sync 4.1 .
I started aWizard 1.3 beta 1.
I checked options u and e with aWizard 1.3 beta 1.
Then I started Lokiwiz02b and checked option C.
But it did not help.
After that I tried application unlock for SDA, and then started option C with Lokiwiz02b, but it didn't help.
How can I make the device SUPER CID?
When my Wizard got delivered by the mailman, the very first thing I did was CID unlock with LokiWiz 2.0b (the stock rom was a T-Mobile 1.08 Rom), after that I did an upgrade to the Qtek 2.18 Rom, today I did the upgrade to the T-Mobile 2.21 Rom and also today I downgraded it again to the 2.18 Rom.
Nothing more, nothing less
But I wanna know one thing for sure: By the upgrading and downgrading I did I can be sure my Wizard is Super CID unlocked or not (maybe Summiter, Machinagod, Faria or someone else can answer this for me)?
Or do I have to do some more testing to make sure? Right now, I am willing to try any Rom...as long it is in Dutch and not WWE, I would freak out if I upgrade it again to the WWE Mr. Clean Rom or something and then notice that I can't downgrade anymore
Another question:
Is there maybe someone that knows when Qtek is gonna release a new Rom?
I noticed a positive difference in the performance between the 2.18 and 2.21 Rom, but just like I said, I hate T-Mobile Roms, because they have a bunch of crap in them (like carrierlogo's and stuff like that)? And there are no Clean Custom Roms in Dutch language, so I have to stick with the Qtek Roms for now!
