Can't at the moment the new beta has a NEW bug in it on the 1.40 Roms.
Please post your devicedata as cleartest (the short version) as well as the name of the ship exe in:

MDA III - DEAD!!! Help Needed !!!

Hi everyone!
I just recently got an MDA IIi from T-Mobile here in Austria, Vienna (so it was in german) now... aftyer trying to flash the Rom with some d/loaded utility which was not (obviousely) desined for my model it's dead now... all i can see on the screen is this:
Serial (when it's disconnected from USB/PC
and USB when it is and below to the right:
v2.05
Help is very needed and awaited as you read this, friend...

You forgot to tell us some important informations, like:
- Which rom did u exactly download?
- Which upgrade utility did u use for your upgrade?
- How did u try to upgrade your device? Step by step pls...
These informations are very important to provide help..

The good news is your bootloader is intact. I would suggest flashing with original rom to get a working system then you can try out the other roms.

hi, what are diference between my ROM and your adviced ROM ver ?

Hi, i used to use your rom before my current and it was quite a good rom but the aku2 rom i suggested is better
1. Has push email - so your email arrives in a way that your sms's does, almost instantly.
2. Rom is more stable - no more spontaneous soft reset's or dropped calls
3. Battery life is noticeably better.
4. Device is a bit quicker
5. Calls using the phone are better because it has an updated radio.
6. Downside is 2 line date - can be sorted with lvmtime and battery on taskbar - can be covered with same program.

Hi ,
Is this the latest normal rom, i mean not tweaked, tinkered or modified ?
I looked in the FTP server but the numbering system for the roms is not really clear...
Since i am Dutch i don't mind a Dutch version...
Does it have A2DP ?

I assume you have a t-mobile vario - latest official dutch rom is here http://www.t-mobile.nl/zakelijk/med...y_2210205_22102108_021911_TMO_NL_DUT_Ship.exe
You can stop the t-mobile extras installing by doing as soft reset just before they install. None of the roms mentioned include a2dp but there is an easy addon for that look at the a2dp addon thread.

Your're right i have an MDA Vario
Btw is this the latest ever or just the latest dutch ?
And is it newer than the above mentioned Qtek ?

Its newer than the above qtek rom the first few numbers give it away 2.21 vs 2.17 the higher this first number the newer the rom.
There is a newer qtek rom 2.8 something but its a test rom but you can get it in dutch. Only problem is that when you boot up it says test rom and some people have noticed a memory leak, but it does have a2dp included but many have reported it does not work that well with this rom.

Those icons are part of the ROM. All ROMs of the AKU 2.1 variety are going to have those icons in place.
That said, if I were you I would immediately downgrade back to a 1.x ROM and do a CID unlock before upgrading. You don't NEED to do it if you stay with operator ROMs, but if you ever want to use a custom ROM in the future it's something you'll want to do.
The CID encryption changed somewhere between 2.17 and 2.21 and the unlocking tools no longer work. If you upgrade to a bootloader that is version 2.21 or higher you will not be able to use the current downgrader tool and you will not be able to use lokiwiz02b to unlock the CID. At that point the only option is to pay imei-check.co.uk to do the job. Might as well take the free route while you can.

I use lvmtime - it covers over the battery icon and levenum has done a good job with it. (new version expected soon) see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45084

Hi guys,i have this great device for one year now.Six months ago i have installed a WM6 rom downloaded from this site and worked great.IN the meanwhile i had other phones and left the wizard to rest in his box...anyways yesterday i got back to it and saw a lot of new improved roms available here.
Now I need your help to point me to the best rom that i can use.I have right now *UPDATED*16/11/07*ROM: WM5SE rev 4.0 (thanks dferreira) installed but i would like to get back to a WM6 ROM with "The Cube" and the HTC Home Screen.
Please give me some advice, Thank you !

well, i'm back and just tried to flash it with the above ROM....it's not working
i get error 300 invalid update tool (update utillity cannot be used for your PDA...)

did you flash with the new tmobile rom to update it first i did it on my mini s and black diamond is ace on it. have u noticed a problem with it not reciving texts or call every now and then untill u turn the phone of and on again or is it jut me coz im going mad?

Nope, i've used the wizard love rom to bring it back to life and flashed to TNT 1933 after.It works so damn good...phone,internet over gprs and also wifi.I have no problem sending or receiving calls or texts not even e-mails over imap...

how to use this package update radio???
I show my way I think
1. download SSPL 7.77
2. Copy the coresponding SSPL(3 files) to the ROOT of the PHONE not the SD-CARD
3. run SPL.lnk on the phone and immediatly press CAMERA+POWER
4. SEE TRI-COLOR SCREEN displaying spl by DES
5. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe in BREEZE_Radinly_1.56.70.11_CustomRUU.rar with step by step ..

reception/data speed/power usage
you will need to test and see wich one is best to you
for me on vodafone/orange in romania best is 1.56.70.11
no dropped calls/3-4 days battery/hspda is ok

Tried to flash the upgrade however I get the message that the file is corrupt at 7% of the flash.
Tried downloading again, but the same problem.
Any ideas?

Radio 1.56 user feedback...
I have used the 1.56 radio for 2 days...and I find that the battery drain is not so good....I got my battery from fully charge down to about 70% after about 3 to 4 hours of standby....
I will be trying the 1.54 radio for comparison...
