Extracting AKU 2.0 Push Email Possible? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

i was wondering if it would be possible to extract the push email functionality from an AKU 2 Rom and make it work on the BA WM5 Roms ?

TuMa 1.4, just released should include it

TuMa 1.4 includes the A2DP part of the AKU2, but not Push e-mail. Tuatara is currently working on a Himalaya port.

Can a2dp function be extracted from Beta Roms that have it?

and inserted somehow into the official HTC roms like the Wizard and Apache roms that lack this feature. With the 6600 we were able to update the bluetooth stack using cab files. You think any cab files exist or can be created that would let us update aku 2 roms that lack a2dp to give it that functionality
i would like to hear an answer to this one, so i bounced the message back up to the top.
when i decompiled the latest tmo universal rom i saw a bt a2dp .dll file
if there are any testers i could compile the files into a cab format but i need all the files list that would be neccessary for a working a2dp profile
This would be the greatest thing since sliced bread if possible!
shameless bump
2nd Shameless Re-bump. this topic should be looked into seriously.
You developers and programmers out there with the power and knowledge to do these things, let's hear from you!!

Did you notice this thread? Seems very active.. and have some results

good night
Anyone running one of the leaked test ROMs that has a2dp working, can you tell me what the OS version and build number is?
This is what your'e looking for summiter, it's the same one I had you build for us with the cingular customizations. You would be some kind of Hero if you could merge this with the 2.17 rom and cingular ext rom.

Actually, what I'm trying to find out is if the core OS build is the same in the a2dp test ROMs as it is in the officially released (but a2dp-free) AKU2 ROMs.
On the AKU2 ROMs, if you go to Start->Settings->System->About the OS build is reported as:
OS 5.1.195 (Build 14847.2.0.0)
If the leaked test ROMs have the same core OS, then the only difference between them and the AKU2 ROMs would be the radio, bootloader, and customizations...in which case I could build an installer that has the core OS with a2dp, but with updated radio, bootloader, and customizations.
The installer I built from that test ROM has the Cingular customizations we want on the 8125, but the radio and bootloader are potentially older.
Now that would be SWEET!!!

summiter,
I just installed your custom built 2.8 ROM. The OS build is the same as you have indicated above the radio ROM and the loaders all had different versions.
Then using awizard, I extracted the OS ROM, installed your custom built 2.17 ROM, and then using awizard, I loaded the extracted 2.8 ROM. So now I have the latest radio, boot loaders, etc but with the 2.8 OS!, So far things seem to work OK, haven't tried push email, as I still don't have any place to test that from. But I have A2DP! and am loving it so far.
So now your next challenge is to extract A2DP and build a 2.17 exe
Oh BTW, just an FYI I have the old CommManager screen though.
Thanks for all your efforts!
Shankar.
Anyone want to make a rom that uses the Tmobile UK rom and adds a2dp? That way all us blackberry users could have it as well
wow, people still use the crapberry??? surprising.

i would say bump to a little cab file fore a nice AD2P option !D

"CLEAN" WM5 ROM?

Hi. Are there actually any ported ROMs for the BlueAngel that allows a super-clean (i.e. purely Microsoft) WM5? Thanks.
There (probably) could never be a purely MS Rom for BA as until we have an official WM5 we need to port from an official rom for a different device. The only problem here is that different devices need different drivers and boot sequences etc so it couldn't be purely MS, as far as Im aware...
Kind regards
Lee
You can try Ivan's Rom v.4 R0

that is the 'cleanest' wm5 rom avaliable (IMHO)
Ivan's Rom v.4 R0
I see I'm not the only one looking for a clean WM5 ROM...
I've been testing Ivan's ROM v4 R0 and chosing myself the cabs I want to add.
Thought, there's a big problem. Extended ROM is not supported in v4 R0. I would like to ask Commant Ivan if it will be possible to have a "clean" ROM as v4 R0 JUST with the possibility of having a directory "\Extended_ROM" in the SD Card where we can add the Extended ROM cabs, same as TuMA ver 1.3.
I believe the most important thing is have a clean ROM and to move the Extended ROM to the SD Card. In this way we can have more room for WM5 in our BA, updates and patches are easier to install but we can also chose the cabs we want to use and personalize our Extended ROMs with OEM programs (as TomTom, utilities, etc)
What do you think, Commant Ivan ? Thank you anyway for your great job with WM5!

Where's the AKU 3.0 base ROM?

Midget et al,
I have noticed some of you are working on the BA AKU 3.0 ROM's now as opposed to the AKU 2.3...
I've checked the buzzdev forum and this one + the ftp and can't find the BA version, I can see bepe's Hima version on buzzdev...
Where is this ROM for the BA? And are there seperate DEV tools for it or will the 2.3 DEV folder from bepe work?
Enquiring minds would like to know, and an answer of 'It's there if you know where to look!' won't help much
it's not working properly atm, the core-os is unstable, you cant use anything but the core os and the bundled driver pack + sap doesnt work (makes device unusable)
look on the same server as the rest of his stuff if you really want to.

What are the differences between the WM5 releases?

Hi all,
What are the differences between the different WM5 releases (Helmi, Logout, Midgets, TuMa, ArtZ IVAN)?
I'm new with the WM5 for BA, and I'm not sure what image/version should I use.
Thanks
Use helmi's.
Yes use Hemli.
yep, ATM Helmi's relases are the best.
Just decide between AKU 2.6 and 3.2 one.
Hi,
As I see Helmi's should be the best release (even though I don't know why).
So what are the differences between 2.6 and 3.2 releases?
Is only bug fixes and patches?
Thanks
Helmis releases are the most new ones, so i advice you to use them, or if you are experienced you can try to build custom rom using bepe's wm5 kitchen

they are identical in terms of bug fixes etc, the only difference is the core OS portion of the ROM. AKU 3.2 is the newest and contains a few new features but the PIM management is different and programs like MS voice command and PIM management apps dont work, this is why the AKU 2.6 was made, for compatability with these apps.

Helmi's are the most recent and incorperate some recent revelations by the folks here that have greatly improved the performance of the phone. You picked a good time to drop in...
2.6 and 3.2 refer to the actual internal revision of windows mobile 5. Think of them as service packs. 3.2 is newer and in theory should have less bugs*, but there are incompatibilities with some software such as one of the voice commanders.
* I work in software and even I am laughing at my own statement!

Which ROM to Upgrade to?

Hi! Just wondering which ROM to upgrade my SX66 to WM5.0? Please vote and leave your opinion.
I would simply choose Helmi rom (vanilla) version, excellent speed, very stable and best of all it's a base (cleaned) rom.
btw, I mean no disrepect to Tuma, Ivan, Artz, they have not released their rom for a while now, hence their latest rls are out-dated. the latest logout rom are based on Helmi work basically with few fixes.
you may wanna include xplode's rom as another option, he has been working hard for it, and his rom is one of the best out there at the moment.
xplode?
wonder why xplodes name is not included in this poll
I did not find xplodes name on the list of ROM listed on XDA-Developers forum. By the way, what does AKU stands for?
Maybe you should put xplode's name in the pole.
Tried editing the poll but can't.
yes, XPLODE's ROM must be included also..
i have tried using his work and i found it nice too..
been using it since wifi was working great..
his work is one of the bests ROM as of the moment..
his name must be in the list too..
for now, i go for HELMI's work..
the vanilla version.. its a clean ROM..
my wifi also working.. =)

i think xplode is a very good one at this moment too
You are liar!
There is a THREAD for xplode ROM on "XDA-Developers forum" but there isn't wiki page for it. So there is diference between forum and wiki
forum.xda-developers.com
wiki.xda-developers.com
What was written in wiki? Latest versions -recommended to use:
How to upgrade to the AKU 3.5 WM5 Helmi beta 1.4b - newest
So why do you ask such a question when you already know the answer?!
Using Helmi's Vanilla rom now. Fantastic rom, with A2DP working. It would be good if it could be reduced further by taking out Internet Sharing, Modem Link, Pocket MSN and Clear Storage. Power_service.dll and Rotate_screen.dll also don't need.
I was using Xplode's rom for a while until I find that A2DP was not working. If that could be fixed, I would probably use Xplode's rom again as it is truly a very basic rom, so the speed is much faster.
Anyway, both Helmi and Xplode's rom are the best.

I second this vote.
Been using Xplode's ROM, since that was working fine for me.
Have switched to Helmi's vanilla-version, because I wanted an as clean as possible ROM.
I have to agree with the Vanilla-supporters here
Haven't tested other roms beside Helmi's though.
Installed this version just this morning - it's VERY nice... no annoying bugs found just yet. Works a lot faster too!
