At my work we have 10, 8125, with the goodlink software loaded on to them. There is only one problem that we are having with them. They for some reason are going into a search mode forever. I am not sure if it is because of the software that we have put on them that is making it do this. So if any of you have heard anything about or know if these phones still have this problem with out goodlink loaded on to them that would be a great help. Also if you have found out how to fix it for good, that would be nice also.
Thank you for your help.
Also if you are having the problem and dont no how to fix it for a little bit, you need to take out your sim card and put it into another phone and turn it on. Then after it starts up take it back out and put it back in your phone.

hi everyone. im new to the site. i'm amazed how much i never knew about my xda2i before i found this site. there are sooo many cool tools and stuff i'd never heard about. indeed, i wish i had found this site before i made a huge mistake!
i found an update for windows mobile 2005 and tried to use it to update my xda2i (which i now know is really called alpine). of course it didnt work out how i hoped. it ran through the whole process correctly. it erased the curent rom and - so it said - it wrote the new rtom to my device.
unfortunately my xda2i no longer works. the screen is blank and nothing seems to help. soft and hard reset dont work. i tried taking out the battery, and putting it in the cradle. the red light on the top right corner flashes when i do this. but still no joy. i tried re-loading the 2003 se rom but active sync wont detect my xda2i!!!
i cant get any other tools to work because they all seem to use active sync...
i was hoping there was a way to manually put my device into bootloader mode but i cant find anything on how to do this. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!!!!
all sorted
well it looks like i was a bit premature in posting my problem. i've just been told how to manually put my alpine into bootloader mode. it worked a treat and i have no problems anymore. many thanks and once again im grateful to the have such a great resource as this site! i'll definitly donate next time i have some money in my paypal!
for anyone else having similar problems i'll just say how to put your device into bootloader mode as i had the hardest time finding it out. too many people assume this to be common sense and dont explain for all of us newbies! lol
simply hold down the power button, the select button (thats the directional pad pressed down centrally) and the reset button for a couple of seconds. this puts the alpine into bootloader mode.

there is no window2005 rom for 02i at the moment. note that before upgrade ROM you have to find out the suitable rom for you PPC. 02i rom is always Alpile ROM. the newest is 1.11.171 radio is 1.04
I know this is my first post here but I've done my best to search the forums and I haven't found anything that looks like it helps me.
I just got my AT&T Tilt yesterday. It came unlocked (I'm using it with T-Mobile) and has an HTC ROM installed as well as various other apps (Ms. Pacman, TomTom 6, SuperDoku, etc.). I had some issues with it locking up yesterday (similar to what I'm experiencing now but to a much, much lesser degree) when I was playing around with it but those issues somehow corrected themselves.
This morning I installed the Tilt keyboard fix that TaurusBullba posted on here back in June to fix some mapping issues. Since I installed and soft reseted, everything has been going kinda haywire. The Wi-Fi turned itself off and I can't turn it back on. When I slide out the keyboard the orientation stays in portrait mode. When I try to shut down the phone using the power button it hangs forever. Now, actually, half the time I press the power button nothing happens at all.
I've tried uninstalling the CAB but that didn't fix anything at all. I'm afraid to try a hard reset because, from my understanding, I'm going to lose everything that came pre-installed on my phone for me. I should probably also add that last night I installed the Google Maps CAB with no problems whatsoever. Is there some simple solution I'm overlooking? Thanks much!
I would advise that if you have tried soft resets to try and resolve the issues and it hasn't worked, then perhaps a hard reset?
It sounds as if the software you have installed as either caused the problems or exacberated them (ie made them worse).
With hard reset it wipes everything back to when you got it. If you are able I would suggest that you plug it into the computer and make sure ActiveSync backups up your contents. You may also want to use this get all the files on the main memory either to the storage card or to you're PC.
As this is yo're first post I don't know how au fait you are with the above that I have mentioned
The preloaded apps will be reloaded again. You won't have an empty ROM if you do a hard reset. It will be as if you just flashed the ROM again.
Thanks for the replies guys. I went ahead and did a hard reset and it looks like the only thing I lost (or at least the only thing I miss) was TomTom. I've already reinstalled that using a link I found on here, and everything seems to be good to go.
I still have no idea what might have caused the problems though, so I'm afraid that they might come back or I might repeat some dumb mistake I made. I guess I'll just have to live with that for now.
clear storage / hard resets no big deal, just expect to do it every other week while you're finding all the cabs that work (or dont work) for you..
I generally clear storaged every week when i first got my tilt until I found all the app's I liked that didn't have side effects
Before i begin: I apologise if this is a common issue, I have done a couple of searches but as i dont have access to a computer atm this was done on my kaiser - not very easy. There is therefore a very good chance i have missed the solution if there is one. Please don't flame if this is the case.
Hi, I'm have a constant problem with my kaiser where if i put it into standby it won't come back out. I have made no changes between it waking up successfully and it now not.
I originally had the stock 02-uk rom which never caused me any problems. I then decided to flash to dutty's rom which i'd heard nothing but good things about. this didn't suit me so i reflashed to confused stu's mob vista 1.2 within the day. i decided to stick with this rom. a week later and everytime my phone entered standby it was refusing to come out. the phone could still receive calls but wouldnt show any signs of ringing and wouldnt allow me to answer them. I decided that as i was about to hard reset anyway i'd flash to v1.3 of mob vista. about a week in again and i cant wake the device from standby.
this is beginning to become seriously annoying and time consuming. I'm not sure if its rom related. all i can say is it never happened on the O2 rom but has on both 1.2 and 1.3 of mob vista. I can't comment on dutty's as i didnt have it long enough.
if anyone knows of any existing threads related to this that would be helpful.
Thanks a lot.
Ok i kept searching and found this thread which has the solution.. i think.
Its to do with the USB advanced network funtionality. With it turned on the phone works fine, when its off the phone sticks in standby.
Does anyone know what causes this. I have always had it turned off as my computer doesn't like it and yet i havent had a problem until recently. would it be to do with WM6.1?
my diamond is playing up, there are no sound at all from earpiece, ringer or loud speaker after every 30mins to 1hour,
once you restart the phone and its works again, then gone within 1hour, have to keep restart the phone
here what i have done:
i run this RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.0 0.25.05_Ship
Still not fix
then this
SwiftBL-WWE-Diamond-ROM-v5.6
still not fix,
i dismantle the phone have a look is anything simple loose connection and such, but there is no sign of that or no sign of any water damage.
please if you have any idea to share here will be much appreciated
thanks
Same problem here...
looks like still fresh this Diamond phone, no one have idea yet to rectify this issue
still waiting.............
if it is fine to begin with, and then it goes after a little while, i would say it is not a hardware problem, but a software one.
especially as you have tried it on more than one ROM, it suggests that you may have installed something else on to the device which may be influencing it.
Hard reset and sycn your contacts etc back to the device, but do not install anything else, or do any tweaks at all.
let it run out of the box without any changes for a 24 hour period.
does it still happen?
if yes, send it back.
if no, start putting everything back on one by one until the problem re-occurs, trying the device for a couple of hours after each install. when it fails again, you have your suspect which is the last thing you installed or did before it failed again.
course, it could be a dodgy device, but make sure before you go through the hassle of sending it back, cos it could just be some software that doesn't like wm6.1.
So I recently got back from a trip to Maryland (I live in Michigan) and now I am experiencing frustrating behavior from my Tilt. In places where I use to have acceptable signal (typically 2 bars, sometimes one if I angle just wrong behind a wall) I now get "no signal", however, when I reset the phone or when I turned the radio off and then back on again it would connect to the network just fine. I tried to use the "Airplane Mode" in the communications manager to simulate switching the phone off, and almost every time I do this it immediately says that my SIM card is missing. I have to take out the card, wait a few minutes, and then reinsert it for the phone to work normally again. I don't believe this to be an issue with a loose card, as it only happens as soon as I attempt to use Airplane Mode. Jostling the phone, opening and closing it, nothing else seems to trigger this. Can someone explain to me what's wrong, and how I can fix it?
Have you ever flashed a rom on the phone or anything?
No, I use the stock 6.1 AT&T rom. I do use Manilla 2D, but I've been using that for awhile.
Sync up the contacts or use PIM backup, save all of your files and do a hard reset.
that's what I was afraid of, oh well, It'll give me an excuse to clean out my phone of apps I don't use.
thanks, I'll update if that works.
Yeah it's pretty painless to redo your phone. Good luck
