I have an XDAII1 PH10C
Ive had a few issues with TomTom etc and have downloaded an update or two - including the official O2 update.
Unfortunately me XDA keeps freezing and Im getting pretty upset with having paid £400 for nothing.
When I did the O2 upgrage I got the following :-
The file "rofs_target.zip" was not copied sucesfully. To re-install, you will need to get the source .cab file again. Continue with Setup?
Ive even let both batteries run down completely in the hope of restoring original O2 set-up - but I get a Country Error code when I re-install the upgrade.
My hardware settings are :
ROM 1.11.00 WWE
Date 01/27/05
Radio 1.04.00
Protocol 1337.42
ExtROM [this is blank]
Ive got the chance of returning to O2 support to try and sort problem, but I need original O2 set-up or they will charge me £96+vat for re-setting XDA.
PLEASE - does anyone have solution for solving [blank] ExtROM issue or the original O2 settings to solve the repair bill problem.

what types of sd card are you using
sometimes i get that error as well but all i have to do is re run the no id app and it works 2nd time
I have a PQ1 1GB card, but dont have that inserted when I download updates or reset PDA.

re-run the O2 update if it errors with country ID error then just start it back up again it should then work.
It looks from the specs you posted your using the latest 1.04 radio. i assume you installed PUGs new update version ?

Yes I tried Pugs version, and the ExtROM was still blank.
So, Ive gone back to an O2 version - and the ExtROM is still blank.
I need to reassure myself that I have ONLY O2 software on the XDA before I send it in for repair as it will be free - if they find any other stuff on there they will charge me c£100.

PS Im still having major TT5 issues. Today it froze and I had to hard reset and then tried to re-install TT5. Only to be told it was already there and did I wish to overite. When I said yes, the today screen came up and theres no sign of TT5 anywhere.
Bloody XDAIIi is doing my head in.
Have you downloaded the latest O2 ROM from the XDA2i mini site?
When you are installing it have you got your anti-virus software turned off?
Yep - O2 download.
Yep - AntiVirus, Internet Security & Anti-Spam all Off.
Ive just done the download again and still got the rofs_target.zip message.

Hi there, have you tried unlocking the extended rom by any chance? This will cause the storage to be locked and cause the extended rom to stop installing past a certain point (Happened to me). There are instructions on this site on how to unlock it, do a search for unlock and my screen name (pug).

I found the link you refer to and downloaded the exttools.200.exe and ran it on XDA.
I then tried the official O2 update again and the XDA has FROZEN !!!!
It is now stuck on Serial v1.01 and WILL NOT alter no matter what I do.
Ive soft-reset, hard-reset and done the soft-off-action button thing - and nothing.
When I place in cradle, the PC plays a tune as if to say it knows the XDA has been connected, but I cannot get activesync to recognise the XDA.
Now what can I do please ?
Im particularly worried that I now cant remove the exttools.200.exe from the XDA and will have to return it for repair with that dodgy software on there - they will definately be charging me for a repair now.
What can anyone suggest please ?????

Can you get it into the 3 color bootloader?
yes i can and i try to use one the cooked roms on the forum and it gets to 98% and stays there. but i can do the ruu and revert back to my original rom but as soon as i put sim card in I get that Data Crashes error again. It says sim lock in the top left of the screen and in big bold letters in the middle of the screen i get the Data Crashes contact your service center. i use aWizard and it goes thru the whole process and i do the hard reset and the update doesnt get done and i get the same data crashes error. anyone else with this issue and or solution?

to all the members i had the same proplem i was able to solve by buying a simlock key from uk company basically u give them your imie number they gave you a small software to unlock your phone
what is important is that u guys know with simlock the rom have nothing to do with i spend three days installing and unstalling using (awizared) and lookwis to unlock to unlock my 8125 cing but nothing worked only when i bought that unlock it worked

This is a "Data crashes" problem and not SIM lock problem.
With SIM lock problem you can easily get in unlocked with lokiwiz utility without paying anything.

I had this issue when I flashed my MDA (Tmo US) with the custom ROM 2.17. To solve it I did the folowing:
I took out the SIM card, reflashed it with the old ROM and CID/SIM unlocked it with lokiwiz. Then I re-inserted the SIM card to see if it worked and it did, no more data crashes error for me. After this I flashed the custom ROM again and it worked, no problems since. Hope that helps.

on the top corner right, there are 4 icons: the signal, the loudspeaker, the battery and it doesn't work any more
I try to upgrade a second time but the mini usb port doesn't work !
No connection with Active Sync
Is there a hard reset method or something else ?

Hi, I've updated my Trinity with this ROM.
All works fine, except that it doesn't work with my SIM card.
When I insert the SIM card, I got a message and the Network Wizard:"Your current operator (23433) is not supported. You should obtain an update from your device vendor.
Would you like to select another network provider?
Basically I can't connect to the network and the network wizard gave me only asian and australian operator I can choose from, but I'm on Orange and in UK!!
Please let me know what's wrong!

You sure it doesn't work when you wait a while? It should work telephony-wise, but the data settings you have to change manually...
just doesn't accept Orange SIM cards..
Can't understand why...maybe has a lock when you insert an Orange SIM?

Hi gioazz,
I bought an m700 from you on ebay ( dezlatics )and have found it to work great, but I am eager to use the GPS option with it.
But just a quick note on your issue....
I have now installed an Orange 3g Pay as you go simcard with no problems.
However, I did originally buy a simcard and have problems connecting to the internet. I rang Orange customer services and they told me that the simcard was only a 2G simcard and that it was not compatible with the m700. So I then bought a 3G simcard and everything is sorted.
So perhaps you are trying to use a 2G card and not a 3G card??
Could you possibly send me any info on the GPS rom update that you have installed and tell me how to check if my m700 is locked or unlocked.

My Sim Card is 3G but it doesn't work with any Orange SIM...I think that this is simply a faulty phone.
As for the GPS ROM, just download the ROM from the FTP it works great, and if your already works with an Orange SIM I think it will still working.
I've tried to revert to an old ROM and the nproblem is still there so I think is just the phone.
It does works with any other phone SIM so far,so I think is simply an Orange lock on this device...

First of all - great username!
Second of all, ftp (file transfer protocol) is where you are going to find the stockpile of roms and other files the esteemed members of this forum have compiled from around the world. Here's a link to the trinity rom page:

Yes I unlocked my Trinity with the IMEI unlocking service, it cost me £20.00 but I think it will be worth it in the long run.
But how can I test that my device is unlocked and will stay unlocked even after I upgrade using the GPS ROM update?
Is there a quick to tell, or do I have to try and install software that is not digitally signed to find out, Also, I do not have any other carriers simcards to try in my Trinity either.

Do Hardreset,
After you finish the initial phase, do hard reset before it installs the DOPOD software (the 3 seconds countdown) and your sim will work fine.

on running k-jam_Lokiwiz02b ... i did all the instructions , after unlocking (step 1) , & rebooting
a message appeared : SIM Lock
"Data crashes..contact your service center"
i tried to install the old ROM ,, nothing happened & the same error
tried to unlock my device several times as mentioned ,, also the same error reappears every time ????
when i remove the SIM card , the ppc works normally (but not the phone of course) , tried another SIM & also no use

Do you have a G4 or G3 device? What ROM version do you have? We'll take it from there.

While your KJAM rom is 1.01, why don't you try using the Button ROM just to see if it makes a difference.
No clue about the SIM Lock error though. You can use lockiwiz .3 to do the SIM Unlock to see if that fixes that issue, then go back to trying the CID Unlock with .2b.

Bummer... Ok, I just did a google search on your message and found this form Howard Forums:
The data crash message means that the encryption block controlling the simlock is damaged.
That should not be possible, but it apparently IS possible, because you're not the first person who's had it happen.
What I would attempt to do to recover is:
1. Take OUT the SIM card.
2. Bring up the phone in boot loader mode.
3. Reflash an official RUU that matches the phone (T-Mobile US) OR restore an SD image that matches the phone (T-Mobile US)
See if that works. If it DOES, then use the Lokiwiz again BEFORE you go screwing around with anything new. If it does NOT, then attempt the RUU to the Qtek or Imate ROM, again, with card out, and see if THAT one can be booted.

If the two previous methods mentioned before the pay method do not work and you decide to pay for the IMEI unlock mentioned: PLEASE follow jt_armstrong's advice (mentioned in above post) for obtaining your phones IMEI # when ordering the program!!
Since I did it as a last resort, it was already too late for me to obtain the IMEI from my phone as the pay website suggests (dial *#06# on your phone). This is due to when I insert my SIM the "Data crashes..." message comes up and there is no way I could obtain my IMEI without looking at the label behind my battery.
All is well now after running the $38 program. I finally realized (with the help of the previous posters, and other threads in this great forum!!) I have exhausted all other options.
Unless you can wait for someone to come up with a definitive solution to this rare (from what I have read) problem, I highly recommend using IMEI unlocking program. I have been trying to find a solution for about 5 days in the forums and this was my last resort...

i've one HTC Kaiser Phone, problem is when i make call then there is no problem fone works fine but as soon as i recieve call the fone restarts itself. everytime this happend when i recieve the calls i try to do hard reset and soft reset but problem is still same. any solution or help will be appriciated.

and software solutions is the name of my office i'm providing these solutions which i've and i'm also searching for new solutions. this is first time i face a problem like this , that outgoing is working fine but when there is incoming call the fone restarts.

i downloaded the file " KAIS_Radinly_1.27.14.09_CustomRUU " from the link u gave me but it gives me error after going in boot mode then showing progress bar it gives error on 0% fones is working fine. i try to hard reset as well but still no luck can u give me steps how can i flash this radio to the fone.??? my fone is HTC Kaiser AT&T.

You need to use radio 1.27.12.17
and you need to cid unlock your phone before flashing the radio :
