I am very confused about upgrading ROm on QTEK 9100.
I Bought a QTEK 9100 in USA, it comes with the following ENGLISH version of software
ROM Version: 1.1.7.5
ROM date: 09/22/05
Radio Version: 01.01.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.16
Ext ROM Version: 1.1.7.105
I have red a lot about auopgrading, but finally I don´t Know wich is the right ROM for my device, I have found the following link for upgrading the ROM

This is a Qtek official upgrade so you just need to run the installer and you'll be done with it without much hassle. I personally prefer i-mate's KJAM ROM since it is newer and in my opinion it runs a bit faster. To have i-mate's ROM in your Qtek, you have to do CID unlock (using Lokiwiz). Search the forum for this info.
I had a Qtek 9100 before.. it has a dead bluetooth hardware. Now, if you know where I can get this thing serviced I would appreciate it. Anyway, in place of my Qtek 9100, I purchased Cingular 8125, CID unlocked it.. and run i-mate KJAM's 2.17 WWE Rom.

Why do I have to make a CID unlocked, because I bought Unlocked, it means I can use it with any GSM Company.
When you made a ROM upgrade, you are also upgrading at the same time Radio Version, Protocol Version and Ext ROM Version.

You don't need drivers, just download and install Activesync 4.1 after that plug in your USB cable and the device gets recognized.

Whenever I go to this link it says "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.

Try a direct upgrade first - connect device to pc via activesync and click on the exe of the new rom to start upgrade.
remember to backup any important data as all will be lost - just like doing a hard reset.

FTP site has all the ROM's available, check through it and you'll see whats available. Which one to use, matter of choice and need, I'd suggest using the search function on this forum myself

Yours is quite an old rom so update to an aku2 rom english - will start with a 2 and WWE will in the name of the rom.
You didnt tell us which make of wizard you have to best advice you on what rom is good for you.

I have the o2 XDA Mini S and I ran the unlock program but when I try to perform the ROM upgrade it tells me that I have an invalid vendor!
Any ideas?

Which browser are you using? - sometimes there is a glitch there. Try disabling firewalls and antiviral on your pc to see if that makes a difference.
Tell me the rom you want and try to get direct link you want.
btw WWE is world wide english - so if you want an english rom go for one of these - if you want the menu's in german go for the german rom.

Thanks. I have managed to download the ROM. Problem lies with the browser. Apparently cannot download with Opera. I used IE instead.
I have successfully upgraded to the new ROM. Seems to be working alright so far.

OK, I've finalised an RUU Updater with inclusive tools to allow you to Bake your own ROMs from the ones already out there
this does NOT mean you can edit the OS files, simply mix'n'match
The RUU Updater also will run the SSPL for you meaning that you can use this RUU to flash *ANY* ROM to your PDA even if it is fresh out of the box (but please do take care when doing so)
There is no NBH included in this file, and you will need to place one in the directory you extract this to in order to run it.
I have released in this package; a GUI app to simplify the ROM baking process, but if you wish, feel free to experiment, and remember, you *CAN* delete components from the NBHGen sample file (say for example you didn't want to flash a new Radio), but please remember to ensure that all files are named correctly.

Will this tool able to merge OS and Radio components from different official ROMS?
Example... we take the OS ROm from the original Dopod WWE ROM and combine it with the GPS Enabled Radio on the recent Dopod official GPS ROM?
I thought just wan to try if this can solve the current Audio no BASS issues.. after romming with the latest GPS ROM.
Yep, that's exactly what it'll let you do.
Whether your GPS will still work with a GPS Radio and non-GPS ROM I cannot answer however (but either way, you can easily flash back)

Sorry, this is my mistake, I will recompile ROMBaker; it is creating the NBH as HERM100 instead of TRIN100 - I'll have a fix for this in about 5 minutes
Ok, I have updated ROMBaker; you may redownload the entire archive from the FTP or download this attachment and overwrite the old ROMBaker.
if there is anyone who has both a TRIN and HERM, then I will consider creating a single program that will allow you to choose between both.
Question:i ve got an italian Tim branded 3600 with no gps ,can i just update the radio with a radio gps-enabled file taken from another rom to enable it with this tool??i like to have gps but also like my P3600 in my language...

05_GSM.nb is actually 1.50.08.11 (taken from taiwanese ROM) while the os rom is taken from the official htc rom.
the problem is, once i finish flshing my device, the device information (inside wm6) still showing that i'm running 1.46.00.11 (the original gsm from the official ROM)
is it normal? if not, how to change it (so that it will display 1.50.08.11) ?

If the rom you using has wm6 then yes and if your device is HardSPL ...

what is the branding on your phone? Is it a tmobile wing, xda terra or whatever?

I am a member already. But in worldwide section, not in India section. In worldwide section I could find the updation to WM6 and someother hotfixes. No other RUU.
Its not letting me to open another membership in India section. Is it necessary to login to the respective country site??
Anyway I have sent mail to HTC. Let me see what they have to say.
I went ahead to download the WM6 upgrade file. When I enter the s/n it shows
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
You need to register your unique phone on the site with the IMEI code. Being member @ HTC isn't enough.

I did register my phone. (It asked the s/n, but not IMIE). Still I could not find the RUU in the download section.

I registered in the HTC worldwide section. And HTC email service has replied me as following
"We would like to inform you that world wide section and India website link is same."
I am not able to find the RUU in the HTC E-club, XDA-developers wiki page and FTP page.
If I am not wrong, I do not have the correct RUU means I can not flash my device . I don't want to waste my device with the stock rom. Can someone please help me.

This is a bad news for me.

(I have to be happy with the stock rom itself. I don't want to take much risk.

Hi guys I am looking for any compatible rom that is English. I have Diamond unit with Spanish ROM on it. I need English compatible ROM. I tried one from mediafire link above but installer gave me error saying invalid vendor id. I guess I can't just install any it needs to be specific carrier or vendor.

Unfortunately I tried several roms that I thought are English and all of them showed me "INVALID VENDOR" error. is there anyway you can specify ROM I can use with my unit, if you not sure what I have to begin with I'd be more than happy to provide any info needed to identify unit I have.

CID lock (aka vendor lock): put on your device by the manufacturer to prevent installation of a ROM not released by them.
HardSPL: This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing. See the official thread for more info.
