I have the motorola ht820 headset and a ROM with A2DP installed (I have tried the last 2 ROMS from Summiter)..
When I detect the HT820, it is detected as 'hands free' only.
I check 'Wireless Stereo' and 'Headset' and save it. After that, when using the device, it sometimes loses the checkmarks next to any of those three items.
What could be causing this? Am I doing something wrong, or am I expecting something more than what you get? I want the phones sounds to come through the headset from ringtones down to music and movies without having to go to 'bluetooth settings' every time I want to do something different.
Sorry,
I can't answer your question and don't mean to threadjack, but maybe you can answer mine, or someone else with the ht820. I just picked mine up and have been able to pair them to the phone. I check both the handsfree and the stereo (I'm running the 2.25 with zoA2DP installed). The handsfree works, but I can't get the music to play. Is there something I'm missing? I went back in to check and make sure the settings were still there, thinking I may have the same problem you are having. But I'm still checked on both boxes. Thanks in advance for any help, and maybe someone will be able to help you.

Mine shows the boxes checked until I hit refresh.. Once I do that, the boxes for the features that are not working are cleared.

I just tried the refresh thing and both of mine are still checked, but still no sound when trying to play music...

I am fairly certain that I actually had to check a third box (headset) in order to hear any music. I can confirm that it played in stereo.. I am not sure why I had to check headset for it to work.
Are the instructions for getting this headset installed properly with this phone?
Ok, I'm only seeing two boxes, one for hands free and another for wireless stereo. Did you have to pair it to the phone once or twice? The directions are a little confusing. Since the phone is the audio device, it doesn't seem to make since to pair it twice, but what do I know?

hit the right button on the headphones.
yeah, I do that. But no sound. The blue light comes on when it's charging, but not when I've push the right M. I turn the headphones on, hit play on the phone and then the right M and no sound. I just checked them by wiring them up to the desktop and both speakers work. Pretty good sound too. Just not getting it to work with BT. I didn't time the charge, and it says to let them charge for 2 hours. But it was close to 2 hours. Could that be the problem?
edit: changed the left to a right M... can't keep them straight
Ok, I got it fixed. I reinstalled the zoA2DP, rebooted, then set it as wireless stereo and it worked. Not sure if it was just one of those steps that needed to be done, or all, but it works... Now to see how it handles incomming calls.....
Can anyone please tell me where I can downoad the zoA2DP.cab from and how do I install it on my wizard. Cheers
i swear, people need to be hand-held everything. use the search feature.

I've had a nice BT headset a Sony BT10CX which has always played music well. This week it only produced sound in the left ear. Fearing the worst I reset my VIII and the issue was still there. I sent the phones back thinking they were faulty and got a Jabra BT320s instead but the same problem is reproduced. After a bit of searching I've just installed the HTC Bluetooth hotfix which...hasn't changed a thing.
I've tried the Jabra with my v1615 and it works as it should. Any ideas?

Have you added any new apps or installed any tweaks just before it went wrong? Otherwise, backup your data and do a hard reset.
That's wht I feared. Pending any other suggestions I think that's the way to go.
Okay, on a plain T Mobile ROM the Jabra connects but now "Set as Wireless Stereo" doesn't even show up as an option, just "Set as Hands Free". I had both options before (even when sound was just coming from the left ear). Do you think this is a Hardware issue and therefore a repair/replacement needed?

Just one more thought, have you used 'Kaiser Tweaks'?
If you have, just de-select or disable 'Use Joint Stereo' in BT as this is designed to pass both Left and Right audio to a mono unit (for music over a single BT earpiece) but it has also been noticed to cause problems with certain stereo headsets.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I have hard reset to a plain untweaked T Mob ROM and now have this issue.
I'm using BT-10CX with alex's tilt MM, sound comes from both ear, stereo; but i have another problem It can't connect to the tilt automatically when turn on after it is turn off!
Can your BT-10 connect to phone automatically once it turn on OR you have to go Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth and then set it as "Set as Wireless Stereo"? Tried all the ROMs (alex, Dutty v4, at&t Genuine, etc) and Schap's advance tools but the issue still there.
Any trouble shoot ideals? Great thanks.
I've always had to manually set it each time I've used it.
has anyone with a bluetooth handsfree kit having problems dialing out with it?
I have a Pioneer Nav deck in my car and while bluetooth handsfree works, I cannot use the deck to dial any numbers? The deck looks like it's trying to dial the number, but the phone doesn't respond. However, I can dial from the phone and converse over bluetooth... The deck says it's connected and shows the carrier information on the screen, but can't get the phone to dial any numbers.
I've done some testing and it looks like if the phone goes to sleep, bluetooth doesn't wake it up.
I'm using the latest voguimg-240x320-04-03-10.nbh.
I thought DZO fixed something in the latest version regarding bluetooth falling asleep when the phone locks, but if you have the latest nbh I guess that's not it.
I have a Ford with Sync, and it is able to dial out contacts but I haven't tried direct dial. It uses voice dialer though, I don't know if that matters... I'll try dialing a # directly and let you know if I can.

I've tried both direct dial and with the transferred contacts from the deck and still no go.
Have you done the a2dp hack where you had to go into some file in the root area and add 4000000 to a line or something like that?
Also, when you are in the car, is the phone plugged in?
Thanks.

Thanks. I'll try the a2dp hack today and test on the way home tonight to see if it makes a difference.
Your Ford Sync has A2DP profile on the deck to stream music from the phone right? Mine doesn't, it just has the phone capability I wonder if that's another factor to consider.

Well I don't know if the AD2P hack will make a difference - try it but mine worked before I did the hack - only the music wouldn't play properly. It still isn't perfect but now music does play. Yes the Sync plays streaming bluetooth media.

It's still not working after the hack. What I've also found out that even after I unlock the phone, the deck still cannot get the phone to make a call. However, if I phone a contact from the phone, hang up, then use the deck to call another contact it will work. Then when the phone locks, I'm back to square one again. it seems like something is happening when the phone locks.

I've experienced a lot of weirdness like that too.. Personally my initial connection is the hardest part like when I get in the car in the morning or home from work.. i always have to reset bluetooth to make it work.
DZO has DEFINITELY improved bluetooth support, and it's pretty good but it's not quite complete yet. I'm just being patient and hoping for the best

Got the Focus S on Saturday, 5 days ago. Love it. Connected flawlessly with my Jabra in the car. When I turn off Bluetooth, the icon will not go away without a reboot. Thats not a huge deal except, while connected to the Jabra, I get all the voice actions associated with a handsfree device. With the Jabra turned off, I still get those actions. With the Bluetooth turned off, I expect those actions to go away. But, the icon stays displayed, and the voice actions still remain, even though Bluetooth is off in Settings.
Am I missing something??
That's odd, have had none of those issues
Have you deleted the pairing, and repaired them?
Does it behave the same with another Bluetooth device?

Yeah, I've done that. In fact, I just reset the device. I like the voice actions....cool....but not if bluetooth doesn't turn off...my phone started talking to me in Carl Jr.'s today.
Have you tried another Bluetooth device?
If it still does it then I would prolly take it back. Only a week old, you should be able to swap it for a different one. The Bluetooth should work flawlessly.

Ok...try as I may, I can no longer reproduce this problem. Which leads me to believe, I was full of sxxt.
I'll keep an eye on it. AT&T has a 30 day buyers remorse...so I have until april 4 I believe....but I'm believing this might just have been a user error. Darn users...always get me in trouble.
This is such a simple problem..
I tried explaining this to HTC tech support but they only have AT&T phones to look at and hold when customers call in.
The AT&T HTC One (M7) phone uses a custom setup for its car dock mode.
I am asking anyone who does NOT have the AT&T version to do a simple car dock mode test.
Here is the problem:
In Car Dock mode (whether you launch it via the app drawer or you plug it in to the official dock which launches it for you) in the bottom right corner is the SPEAK icon.
Launching SPEAK will enable you to call someone or search for music by voice (simple) it also has confirmation though unlike Google Voice Dialer or Google Voice Search.
(there is no icon in the App Drawer) it is only accessible in CAR Mode.
The problem is when you launch it, by design it searches through your contacts and music for just a few seconds to check if you have new contacts or music since the last time you launched it and becomes aware of them. So when opening SPEAK it says on the screen:
"PLEASE WAIT A FEW SECONDS WHILE UPDATING CONTACTS AND MUSIC".. (not the exact wording but close enough)
(it also says audibly via the speakers "PLEASE WAIT" (again, not the exact wording but close enough)
Then when its done searching (about 1 - 3 seconds) it makes a tone and starts listening for your commands.
This works perfect and its a great feature when driving.
NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM I NEED TESTED:
When a bluetooth device is connected it will hang on the screen where it says:
"PLEASE WAIT A FEW SECONDS WHILE UPDATING CONTACTS AND MUSIC".. (not the exact wording but close enough)
At this point you should hear "PLEASE WAIT" (again, not the exact wording but close enough) but that NEVER happens, it just hangs there until you disconnect the bluetooth device and then reconnect it. Upon the bluetooth device reconnecting it finishes searching and works without any problems.
NOW PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY..
It works with a bluetooth car stereo, headset, etc just fine if you launch the SPEAK app from the Car Dock icon. All is spoken through the bluetooth device and all is perfect like you would expect.
Its ONLY when launching it via your bluetooth button that it hangs.
So the audio stream is working either way, but its the initialization from the bluetooth device that causes the hang..
THIS IS SO SIMPLE TO TEST FOR ANYONE WITH A BLUETOOTH CAR STEREO, HEADSET, ETC. EXCEPT FOR HTC BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE THE STUPID AT&T VERSION AT HTC TECH SUPPORT (argh!)
I managed to get it to work back to back successfully only once but I can not get it to do it again.
IF I can get a few people to verify this flaw we can get a fix started via HTC.
I tried to report the problem to them but they can not see what I am talking about so directing them to this forum after others verify it might just make the difference.
Any and all help is very appreciated, thanks...

I will try to recreate the conditions you specified. I can only do it tomorrow though.
Anyway, did you try that with other BT devices?

Yes, it clearly states above that I have tried it with 2 earpieces and a bluetooth Stereo for a total of 3 devices.
This is why I need some other results from other HTC One owners with a bluetooth.

Sorry, I must have missed that. The only thing I found was "bluetooth car stereo, headset, etc".
Anyways, I found the earpiece but it needs to be charged. I will test it as soon as it has enough charge.

Well, I did it. And it seems you are right!
When I try to launch the Speaker app (in Car mode, obviously) it hangs at "Just one moment, preparing your contacts and music now".
I don't even get to hear the "Please wait a moment".
If the app is launched from the phone itself it works as designed. So, bug confirmed.
Unfortunately, I could only test that with one old BT car stereo, as I couldn't connect the One to the earpiece I have.

Thank you for taking the time to test this.
I did not get a lot of responses but you have confirmed for me that it will do no good to return this to T-Mobile just to get another one with the same design flaw.
I know the international versions of the HTC One (M7) are basically the same as the T-Mobile version minus the additional T-Mobile software.
The international version has been upgraded from 1.27 (that is T-Mobile) to 1.28 and now 1.29.
They have claimed in version 1.29 better bluetooth device recognition. (whatever that means)
So if I can just get the version number you have, I can confirm if this is still a flaw or one that could go away with an upgrade
(whenever T-Mobile releases them)
I am hoping you are not on anything other than 1.27 and if yours is indeed a non-Carrier specific version (international) that a simple upgrade will resolve this..

Mine is indeed the International version, but unfortunately with 1.29.401.12 firmware.
I would like to do more tests though. Maybe it's something we forgot to do. If anyone else could test this hypothesis, please do so!
As for the "better BT recognition", I have to say that it does find BT enabled devices very fast (although I couldn't find my old BT earpiece...).
bt fault confirmed
Just tried this with same phone and exact conditions. Can confirm same results and hanging.

If I press the steering wheel button in my car to open a voice command, it hangs. If I press the 'Speak' button on-screen, it doesn't hang.

This is an Android problem I believe. Google now voice search doesn't work when I am connected to blutooth in my car on any phone I have ever used.
So I didn't expect HTC speak to work either.
Sorry gunnyman but you've got it wrong, I am currently able to use Google Voice search just fine and I've always used Google Voice with numerous Bluetooth headsets & car stereos however this HTC Speak problem is exactly that, its the app itself that needs to be updated to work properly through bluetooth.
As for your Google search bluetooth problem, not sure why you're having that issue but it definitely works just fine. On the HTC One I have my JVC car stereo forward track button set for a long press to start Google voice search and I use it all the time in the car.
I have had several Android phones with Google Voice Search and its always worked for me whether its a custom ROM or the stock phone all the way back to the original G1. We can always use voice search.. maybe not voice search over Bluetooth since that was not available until later versions of Android.. but once it was added it works great, not voice dialing ( that still sucks ) but the Google voice search/actions portion. G1, MyTouch 4g, Galaxy S, G2x, HTC DNA, HTC One etc..
So, this may have been brought up already, I did try to search, but didnt come up with much.
So, i bought a Moto X, even after hearing the lenovo/google news. I figure that they cant ruin the device quickly enough to justify second-guessing my long and painstaking decision process.
Anyway, touchless control is pretty awesome. Ive been tinkering with it since i got it. I'm a long time android user, and have been using google now for some time. The problem is this.
I drive a 2013 Jeep, with a UConnect bluetooth hands-free system. It works for what its supposed to work for, i can make calls, stream audio, all is well. In fact its working better than it did on my old GNex. However, once I connect my motox to UConnect (that is, i get in, turn on the Jeep, and bluetooth associates), touchless control becomes unresponsive. In fact, it seems that even if i try to manually initiate a voice search, google now cant hear me. I can use the voice input for the keyboard, just not voice commands. It's almost like as soon as i'm paired to a bluetooth input, google now voice input/touchless control get turned off. Which to me seems odd.
I tried looking around in my settings, i cant seem to find a setting that tells the phone to do this. It just doesnt work.
Also, if i turn off bluetooth while the Jeep is still running, touchless/voice input starts working again.
I havent tried pairing it to another bluetooth headset to see if it does it then too, i'll update this thread once i've had a chance to try that.
Is this something others are experiencing? Is it supposed to do this for some safety feature, and I dont know it?
Thanks!

Ok, results.
I found the Bluetooth headset option was turned off by default. I turned it on. Last night I had a chance to fiddle with it on my way home. At first it didn't work. So i went back into the Google now settings and turned the option back off, and..... It started working! I have no idea why. I'm actually back in the same config I started with, but now it's working. Weird.
