i am looking for a dutch qtek rom. and i know just download it from qtek.
butt when i try to make a account he doesn't accept my ime number.
Because i want to update it to wm6 and when it goes wrong or i don't.
like it because it is not ducth i want to flash him back.

I have testet many wm6 roms with german language, that all works fine ;-)
If i install the broadcom BT-Stack, i cant start BT........ there ist not enough memory. I cant use the MS-BT-Stack, but i have a GNS BT-GPS-Mouse with TMC........ that only works with Bluetooth an i must have an Serial-In and Serial-Out-Port
The only one Rom that works, is helmis rom....... but is is in englisch......
Bevore i have make an upgrade to wm6 ....... i used wm 5. In this rom i have 64MB for Programs and 64MP Storage........ no Ramdisk.
Exists a german rom with 64/64??? ...... or an english Rom with language Files?
Or can i change a existing ROM to 64/64??

I'm surfing a lot on this forum, and what i need is some help by cooking a rom... based on another rom in another language..
for example.. we take the BLACKSTONE WM6.1 V09 (PV) - Build 20769.1.4.5 - pdaviet.net

And then, we try to cook a dutch version of it. (or another language ofcourse)
My Questions are:
1: Is it possible at all?
2: Is there a tutorial for doing this?
3: if there's not. Who has some experience with rom cooking, and would like to help me?

It can be done by replacing all the language packs (_0409) and by editing or replacing config/provxml files. Best place to discuss this is the cooking class thread.

1. Yes, you can do that.
2. If you can extract the rom (don't know if the rom is secrued,). But if it's not, you open OEM & SYS and change the (_0409) packages to (_040x) German
I suggest you have downloaded the orginal German rom for this!

But good luck, (you could also just ask the single cook, to make a german rom for you? )

i will try this, and let know if it works for me! Is it important to have take the OEM en SYS from the same rom version as the cook? or doesnt that any effect.
just remember to use a initflashfile that is either translated to your language or use one from official rom with your language (last is always prefered)

Like, I have a portuguese official rom version 1.14 and I want to change a wwe 1.19 official rom to portuguese. Is that possible?

Yeah, itje, i dont know realy what you mean.. but the question of jpmassena is also my question.... does it matter if i use different rom versions?

Well, I managed to do *something*.
Here's what I did:
1- With the kitchen I extracted both WWE 1.19 and PTG 1.14 roms;
2- Then I replaced all the content of OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_HKCSL_WWE_0409 with the content of OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_0816.
3- I replaced 0816 with 0409 in the file's names.
4- Cooked the rom and flashed it to my HD.
When the process stoped I had everything in english except the Youtube App
Everything in the youtube App was portuguese (except the video categories, don't know why). Now I'm reverting to the portuguese rom to see how the videos categories shows up. Maybe They were in english because the system wqas recognized as english.
BTW, I did this that way just to see if it was possible.. I will read a bit more to do it the proper way, without trying to "fool" the os with filenames...

Hmm i'm not quite sure,, but what is you rename your current directory:
OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_HKCSL_WWE_0816
to
OEM/PACKAGE_BlackStone_YouTube_0816
i'm not quite sure... but you can give it a try.. and else,, replace the whole youtube app...by an english version

the reconstructed rom dump - will need hardspl to flash.

why do you need it, as a backup rom when hardspl comes out?
I want to extract some things from a french rom.
I have a german phone and an english rom now with success installed (thanks QMAT).
I have many registry values modified (keyboard, regional settings, ...) and have now a french windows mobile but the included software not.
I have a french unbranded TP2. I will try to dump the rom as soon as possible this week end. Tell me if you find what you want before I start .

hey sizecom, have you remembered to prepare your phone, you know flashed the hard spl or prepared the soft spl.
