I have an SX66 that I'm trying to upgrade to WM5. I'm using the TuMa 1.3 ROM from the wiki. I changed the operator info and everything up to actually flashing the rom. When I run BAupgradeUT, it tells me there's a problem getting device info. If I manually put the phone into bootloader, then try to run BAupgrade, the program just locks up and doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

Uh, you have to quit Activesync before upgrading ROM. To do that, do start -> run -> taskmgr (or press Ctrl+alt+del) and then kill the following processes:
Code:
wcescomm.exe
wcesmgr.exe
rapimgr.exe

Still nothing, I did that and it just hangs up on "Checking the information on your device, please wait"
Have you disabled your antivirus and/or firewall?

Yeah, about to attempt on my laptop at work and see if it does any better.
Now I'm getting "The ROM image is not designed to work with your device" using the TuMa 1.3 ROM, mine is cingular branded SX66...
sx66 has a different model id, dont you need to use fix.bat on that file?

I dunno, the wiki section on editfix.bat is a little...eh...lacking? Do I just move it to the folder with the ROM information and device data and run it from cmd?
Ok, I did some searching and came up with a post that detailed how to use editfix.bat. I'm running it now, but getting a lot of "No such file or directory" messages, and also a message that nbf file doesn't look like a valid nbf file, and the password may be incorrect...
Finally got it to install, setting it up now, so far so good. The only strange thing I've noticed is that it seems to be slower than my 8125, which has a slower processor and the same OS...

Just pull down the zip file and it should have an RUU in it. you run that and it will flash these onto your phone. Your OS and apps will not be affected since its a Splash only update. The 3rd screen will be in a CAB (or its a png you just copy to the WIndows directory, I haven't looked to see how he set it up).
Just like mfrazzz said, and the third screen is a cab file, just install it like you would a program.

I have an HTC tilt with SPB Mobile Shell.
Any help or ideas?
Hi there,

Any ideas?
I have an htc titan, and am having the same issue,
I get the device error 222 any ideas?
Thx It looks very cool
Newbie question here:
How can I extract the pics to edit them and then recombine them.
Do I need a cab unpacker?
I'm also having the error when trying to run the included RUU to install these. I wonder if it may have to do with whether one's phone is unlocked or not? I installed WM6.5 using SoftSPL so didn't have to unlock my T-Mobile MDA. I wonder if there's a way to install these awesome gradient splash images using SoftSPL?
I can't use any additional application, this is driving me crazy
Mind explaining a little more? Did you buy an unlocked version or one from a branded carrier? I wouldnt have thought any of these phones would have application lock outs? Could be the applications your trying to instal are not for smartphones? More info please!
finally, someone reaplied.
I guess it's application-locked problem, when i try to install apps, it's been showed "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions." on phone Screen.
PS, I bought this phone from japan. X03HT
Finally someone replied?!?!
4 hours is way fast
Same problem here
I am also having the same problem with my x03. Anyway to app unlock this thing?
Who did you buy your phones from? Directly from a carrier or independant web site?
x03?
x03HT application and SIM unlock
Can someone point me to the right tools for this phone? Bought it from Softbank in Japan. Can't seem to find the right tools to unlock application or SIM.
Thanks.
yem
I bought my X03/730 directly from the softbank store in Tokyo. I do send and received emails in Japanese as well as english.

warning... i had this problem after installing the last rom available in americas.htc.com ....
after doing that, everything works fine but this.
Trying to fix that, i already did several things:
- run a clear storage, 1234, yes, fresh reload with no cingular midlets. same problem
- run another clear storage, 1234, yes, fresh reload with cingular midlets. same problem
- called htc and they told me that this is why they dont suggest to upgrade if you dont absolute need too.... so it doesnt fix my problem.
- i reinstalled the same rom, same problem after that.
ideas? im reloading my information right now... maybe installing another rom?
so far, the only thing not working is install midlets in my device. all other things that i install in top of that work just fine. tcmp, pie, htc home, etc...
Ok, for some strange reason, if i copy the jar,jad files (the midlet) to the storage card and install it from local , instead that clicking on the web, it works. so... i will consider it solved for now. not exactly the solution that i wanted to find, but a solution neverless.
read the MIDlet bible and, particularly, my latest OM 4.1 review (both in the General forum); in there, I've explained this all.

ISETool.exe and all IsolatedStorage Explorer Tools suddently stopped working -> "Smar
am currently on the edge of madness with regards to the IsolatedStorage Explorer Tools. I've been using http://isostorespy.codeplex.com/ for month now without any problems but today it just suddently stopped working. After a bit of research i found that the command line version "ISETool.exe" also crashes without any explanation (see Screenshot)

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Does anyone know what the **** is going on with this and how i can fix it?
Did you upgrade your phone to WP8.1 or is it still on an 8.0 version? Have you tried reinstalling (or installing a newer copy of) the WP SDK?
Also, I can't translate the exception message, so I really don't know what the problem is aside from the self-explanatory nature of a "DeviceNotFoundException". Can you see the device with other tools (XapDeploy, WPPT, etc.) and for that matter does it show up in Explorer?

Hey,
thank you for your reply. I am running WP8.0 and haven't upgraded yet. Repairing my Visual Studio 12 SDK didn't help, i am currently trying to install the 2013 version.
> Can you see the device with other tools (XapDeploy, WPPT, etc.) and for that matter does it show up in Explorer?
Yes it shows in the explorer and i can use it to run/debug my applications, Only getting access to iso storage doesn't help
I'm getting similar errors too. After a while I just started using Windows Phone Power Tools, it can do the same and it works for me..
Very odd. WPPT uses the same APIs as ISETool and (presumably, though I haven't checked) isostorespy. Hope it works for you, in the mean time I am not sure what the solution is.
Hello,
I want to download the ROM 059X184 but NaviFirm+ is not working with the free account right now and the Nokia Care Suite is not working either with a unlocked conf file because of the "Access denied. Verify Credentials" message.
Do you know how can I get it for free?
Thanks in advance
You are using same device as mentioned product code on above post ?
Use "Windows Device Recovery Tool". It will detect your device very well and will download latest ROM.

Hi,
NaviFirm+ works, even with an free account.
Use my tutorial to DL and flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515453
Hello,
I am using the same device but I want to put the non branded ROM so I cannot use the Restore Utility.
I followed the tutorial before posting and I got the error message when I am trying to use NaviFirm+ :

You have don't follow correctly my tutorial.
The "NaviFirm Plus" window appears and also an superimposed window "Account Setup". As for this tutorial a free account is more than enough, simply click on the "Cancel button" (2) if you don't have a paid account.http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/538644NaviFirm2Watermark.png

Thanks for the answers.
I followed the tutorial and tried to put the number but it was not working yesterday. It worked today, but I didn't go much far because I though the error was part of the problem. Sorry about that.
Thanks also for the direct link.
