I noticed that there is a no difference with quality in bluetooth depending on the radio types. Although I tried 1.12 and 1.15, both didn't really do much for voice quality with my Siemens SX66 and my Motorola HS810.
Is it the actual headset?
why would there be a difference in quality?
The radio firmware is for the GSM chip and has absoloutly NOTHING to do with bluetooth
finnaly someone who gave me a decent answer. how do i increase the quality of the bluetooth?
try different bluetooth stacks (afaik there are only 2 good ones)
Check the wiki for the information on how to upgrade to them
I'm using XDA IIs with logout rom, my bluetooth can't receive or send file , and there's no option to send file via bluetooth :?: ..... should I try different bt stack too?
it is much harder on wm5 (logouts rom) as the M$ stack is built into the OS, and it takes much effort to make another stack work.

bt patch 3900
radio 1.06.02
Bt upgrade seems to have made minimal changes, maybe a touch louder but thats all, no other changes noticed
Radio 1.06.02; cant say i notice any changes here as i didnt have any calling problems with ver 1.02. I upgraded cos of a problem with wifi which is still there
Anyone have anything to note about the wlan patch? If there are any other patches i missed please post what they are and what effects it has had
Hi.
I have spent a while looking for the patches. Can you point me in the right direction?
I actually went back to the Dangaard BT stuff...version 3500 and patch. This worked better for me with my Logitech BT Headset.
I upgraded the radio also to 1.06.02...can't really say it made a difference, but hell, it didn't hurt either...
BT Build 3900
Hi.
Upgraded to Build 3900 from 3500, found on the FTP server.
Only dif. is that my SE HBH 300 is now faster do disconect a call when pressing the on/of switch.
I was fooling around alot with my BA the day i installed the Build 3900, and right after installing the patch i tested it without a Soft Reset. I got a perfect connection without any crackling noise and a really good distance.
After a Soft Reset it was back to the old crackling noise and poor distance.
And i just cant recreate the scenario i had that day
Radio, dont know. Dident have any troubbles with the old one.
Wlan patch, wating for others to tell.
I upgraded my radio rom to 1.06.02 and BT Stack 3900 and found the Bluetooth still crackled on my old jabra bt 200.. just bought a BT800 today and it appears to work better even the caller display works.. with the radio stack upgrade i have had quite a lot of problems connecting to known wifi access points even when all the correct details were in. I also could not connect to BTOpenzone when standing under the access point (and yep i do have an account on it) so I re flashed the radio rom back to 1.06.00 and bluetooth 3900 with high quality audio patch and it all back to normal with abit mor BT Stability
Jabra BT800 worked straight out the box with no patch needed and has good loud audio 8) and a range of 10 meters ish still a bit crackly at 5 meters though

So what you are saying is that radio version 1.06.02 interferes with WiFi somehow....that is interesting...
Do you remember what happened with your WiFi strength when you turned of BT, or have you not tried that?
Cheers,
HappyGoat
Hi as far as i am aware so far there has been no real issue with the Bluetooth and wifi interfering with each other or should i say i have not experienced any problems. the i ssue was just around using wifi and its connectivity problems i have had with open and unencrypted access points and encrypted ap,s the radio could see them but not connect. my xda came with 1.06.00 as standard and i was curious to see what the latter radio rom would offer. so as i didnt work for me i decided to go backward on step and all seems weel now. will agree interesting one and after trying a number of different 1.06.02 files as i thought the first was corrupt i just decided to revert back to a known to me working rom.
radio version difference
what is the difference in radio version 1.02 v 1.06?
Hi all,
Dunno about you guys but my new XDA2s is pretty paff when it comes to bluetooth. Scratchy sound, erratic volume, headset disconnecting randomly, poor range, etc etc.
I have used an old O2 G2 headset, a new O2 Bluetrek headset and most recently a Nextlink Bluespoon AX headset. All of them were nearly as bad as each other - except the volume on the AX is far less erattic. However, using them with my PC proved no problem so the XDA2s is at fault here!
I did find that forcing the headset to use headset mode rather than hands-free made a significant difference on the older models, however I cannot manage to force the AX to headset mode in any way (still waiting for tech support on that). The AX is let off though as its hands-free mode is as good as the headset mode on the older models, I just hope it will be even better when I force it to headset (if anyone knows how let me know!).
So - I have tried the following builds with my AX:
Radio 1.06.00 BT 3500 - BAD
Radio 1.06.00 BT 3900 - BAD
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3500 - Better volume and outgoing call, but bad for person on other end of the phone.
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3900 - Pretty much the same, small imporvement for me, no imporvement for other end of the line.
I am hoping we can keep a track of various radio and BT version in this post and try between us to figure out a good combination.
There is an extra audio dll
There is an extra audio dll for bluetooth that fixes some problems posted somewhere else in this forum.
This one fixed bluetooth headset enormous here.
I believe the dll you are talking about adds the high-quality bluetooth protocl, allowing stereo bluetooth heasets to be used for music etc. Does this make any difference to the normal bluetooth headsets though?

Hi,
Not sure how I got mine to work but I am using a Jabra 200 headset and it works great.
I am using a custom image of WM2003SE with the optional BT drivers and so far no problems - I found when I originally had similar issues I had to pair the headset again and then everything was okay (I noted the XDAII asked if I wanted to enable the headset support).
I get the odd problem where the headset icon disappears from the today screen but I found that its still there, just doesn't refresh so you have to tap the area and it comes to life.
The headset answers the calls after 3 rings (the headset creates beeps in time with the ringing) and when I dial the headset switches on after a second of making the call. The only thing I have noticed is that I cannot redial when pressing the button on the headset however it does hangup an existing call.
Cheers,
Godz
Hi finalzero - you say XDAII, do you mean IIs or are you using the II? My old XDAII worked fine - it is just this new XDAIIs that is giving me problems.

Bluetooth
Hi ,
same problem for me ,
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3900 - slightly better but not the best wit Jabra 250 V & Qtek 9090 ,
I installed BA_OEM_AudioGW CAB , downloadble somewhere around , but still problems .
When all of this will end ? Bluetooth is a nightmare !
I've had an XDA2 (several actually and got fed up of them being rubbish so insisted on an upgrade) now got XDAIIs. The bluetooth manager is aweful! Can't connect to my O2 headset, does't work well with TomTom3 and is generally crap!
Logged on to find out if anyone else is having trouble so please it's not just me, now all I need to do is find out how to fix it. I'm not a mega techie (but not too bad with the right support) and wondered if it's possible to use the bluetooth software from the XDA2?
Bluespoon AX
I have the same sort of combination Orange M2000 and Bluespoon AX and have the same nightmare sound quality - using Radio 1.04.00 and BT 3900. The AudioGW patch makes no difference (as posted above it's for headphone solutions).
Would be interested in the info you get back from Nextlink on the way to force the mode of the device if possible. Otherwise it's a complete waste of money as it crackles at both ends.
Nothing back from NextLink - have sent 2 emails. With radio 1.08 it sounds fine to me but the user on the other end reports it still quite bad. Gonna do 1.10 soon and see if that helps...

XDAIIs Bluetooth - upgrade to a Jabra 250
I had similar problems with my bluetooth Jabra 200 so I upgraded to a 250 (the black one) and I didn't have any further problems. The vibrating alert is really neat... 8)
bluespoon AX
while we're waiting for Nextlink's reply - can anyone advise me as to whether an upgrade to the Radio version (I'm only on 1.04) requires a hard reset (and full software re-build) or not? If not - are there instructions on another post that say how to do it??
Upgrading to radio ROM 1.08 or 1.10 may improve your BT performance significantly -- I updated my SX66 to 1.08 a couple weeks ago and my Bluetrek G2 headset now works much better.
Radio ROM upgrades do involve a hard reset & software re-install; this thread is devoted to the 1.10 upgrade -- there's another one in this forum for the 1.08.
Hi all
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.42.00 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
BT: 3900
Last week I upgraded to the T-Movbile 1.42 Rom. I then installed the A2DP profile patch and was amazed that my Omiz OMS600 headphones were actually working using the high quality audio profile, and they were working very well.
The other day I did a hard reset to sort out a few things and left it at that. Later on when I came to reinstall my A2DP it wasn't working, nor was using the headphones as just a normal headset. I tried all sorts, including downgrading my ROM because at that point I was wondering whether or not it was actually on a previous version that I had it working.
Anyway... eventually I decided it was the headphones that had an error so emailed Omiz who were very helpful and sent me the download for their firmware flashing utility. This upgraded the ROM of my headphones from 1.06 to 1.25. I can now pair my headphones as a headset but not as High Quality Audio. I can get it to add a High Quality Audio shortcut in BT manager but when it trys to connect it says: "connection failed". Before it was also saying "service unavailable on device" or somthing similar.
Any assistance would be good.
Thanks a lot.

A2DP & WM5
Hi there,
I got the patch from: ftp://xda:[email protected] Upgrades/BT profiles for build 3500/
But I'm not sure if it will work on WM5, I think I have read that it will not, this is my main reason for not moving to WM5 yet... although at the moment while i can't get A2DP working I am not much better off.
How are you finding WM5? Is it reliable enough to compete with WM2003 yet, or is there still a bit of work needed?
It doesn't work under WM5. WM5 has a Microsoft bluetooth stack, this patch does not apply.
WM5 on the BA is quite stable if you have the time to work with it. I am not going back. If somebody comes up with a BT fix for the stand-by problem that does not drain the battery, all of my issues will be fixed.
A2DP on WM5
Thanks for that... I might consider upgrading one evening when I have nothing better to do!
Do you rekon we'll ever see A2DP on the MS bluetooth stack?

Yeah I think so. Apparently it's not out in the wild yet, but w/ BT 1.2, a lot of people will be looking to do more with it.

Did you mean: "the mamaich rom has microsoft bluetooth stack". I really hope we can get WM5 with the same stack I had on w2003. (Broadcom, I think). Maybe it is out there but I can't see it...

I agree. By the moment, I'm very pleased with the performance of WM5 on my BA. It actually runs faster than w2003! And I'm beeing very objective, believe me!
I'm having a big annoyance with writting (sms, word, etc) as the spelling isn't allways what I wrote. On the SMS window, it seems the screen gets redrawn all the time and it loose some words...
The other big is not having A2DP. I think is very frustrating having such a nice machine without a good software that makes all its goodness work! :?
Some delayings on the screen repainting and (I'm using Pocket Informant) slow performance on the everyday tasks as opening the contacts list, or changing toanother program, for example...

WAS: ad2p & bluetooth & wm5
It is somehow possible?
Anybody there?
Answer is no, not possible yet.
And to the poster above - yes, just need the bluetooth connect issue solved where it drops connection when it goes into stand-by mode. The fix that drains the battery by keeping the unit out of standby mode really isn't a fix for me.
Not that I am complaining - I'm happy to be an early adopter along for the ride..

How do I enable A2DP on my BA??
Hello!!
I have searched the forum many many times and visited wiki, but I could only find 2 threads which is close to what I need to know. This is 1 of them.
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio: 1.12.00
BT: 3900
This configuration came from the recently rom upgrade from o2.
It seems to me that it's possible to enable A2DP on a BA running on WM2003 SE, which allows me to stream music to a bt headphones??
However I just could not find a thread which has an instruction on how to do it. Not even on wiki. After reading some threads, I came to my own conclusion that I need to upgrade me BT to build 3900 and install a patch??
So this was what I did,
Since my BT is already 3900 "offical" version, thus I didn't do anything to it.
I d/l this file BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g.00).CAB (83KB) and ran it on my PPC. I then got the audiogw.dll in my windows folder.
That was all I did. It didn't work of course. I have another file, BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab but didn't use it as I'm already on 3900??
So I was just hoping that someone who has done it and was successful, could point me in the right direction!!! Thanks a lot!!!
anyone tried running both cab loacted at
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAn...age BT 1.0.0.3900 and audiogw.dll - 1.33g.00/
if it works, do let me know. I currently do not have a bluetooth headphones to test with.
I have Omiz headset (with MP3 and radio FM) and due to work with my Magician I had to manually change some registry entries. Point was that my PDA was not correctly identified as a A2DP device (only HF). I paired my PDA with normal BT dongle with A2DP profile, found registry entries with dongle mac adress and copied manually keys coressponding with a2dp service to folder with my headphones profiles. After all that it was possible to chose headphopnes in BT menager as stereo audio receiver.
Maybe its similar and u should look in registry...
jarekt, can you post those registryvalues please?!
Can't get streaming audio to BT headphones
I still have had no luck with the BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g 00) Cab or any registry settings under WM5.
BT a2dp WM5
have you tried the file (.cab) i uploaded in BlueAngel under uploads, it let me pair BT Stereo under wm5. Nevermind I looked someone deleted it dont know why. PM me and i can send if you want, I tried to reupload but Uploads appears broken.
I am on thesame situation of errorist.
My machine is on Broadcom 3900, and I want to make A2DP work.
If anyone can shed a light on how to make it work, I'd be very very grateful.
BTW, I have a Motorola HT820.
UPDATE:
I have installed the 3900 stack + audiogw dll even though I had a factory-installed 3900 stack, and I managed to connect in handsfree mode.
I still have not found out how to connect in A2DP mode though...
Any help is appreciated.
Hi All
I dont know how useful this is going to be, but i spent ages doing research to get my ht820 and my 02 xda 2s working properly, and when i did, i wrote a semi bad guide here
http://www.corecodec.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=29&expv=0&topic=2840.0
if its any use i'd be tempted to maybe write it up proper and put in in the wiki, either way, try some of the steps or files ive listed (most of them are from here)
but it gets it working with TCPMP aswell, which is a lot better than WM10 anyhow
good luck
BTW: ivans rom uses the broadcom stack, so the patch may work, however i dont have the headphones to test it with
i've onstalled this two cabs too, but new profile didn't appeared. Bay Be some registry values didn't appied? who did this patch?
this thread is about getting all sound to your bluetooth headset, even when it's not a formal wireless stereo device. Specific on helmi's newest wm5 rom, version 1.3
info at the start of this thread:
WM5 has A2DP incorporated which is ment to get more sound on your bt-headset than just phonecalls.
Helmi stated that this will only work for stereo bt-headsets and when using apps that have stereo support, probably not helmi's choice but the way WM5/A2DP is designed.
vjaj555 stated that his vjvolubilis tool should work to get all sound on your bt-headset on wm5 if your rom uses the m$ bt-stack, but also vjaj555 has limited time/resources so don't blame him for not testing all ROM's that we have. Helmi's 1.3 ROM uses the m$ bt-stack, but vjvolubilis doesn't work properly. You do get noise in your ear with the AGON function, but apps will still send sound to the pda-speaker.
on tuma's 1.3 rom vjvolubilis worked for me.
I see two options i'd like to try out:
1. fake the system through registry tweeking and make my bt-headset look like if it was stereo.
2. find out the differences between helmi's and tuma's bt-stack
:?: Can anybody with a stereo bt-headset please send me the device registry settings :?:
tweeking registry
what I managed so far is linking the wireless stereo service to my jabra 250v bt-headset.
settings->connections->bluetooth->devices. tap&hold 'jabra 250v' ->edit. shows the 'hands free' service and 'wireless stereo' service.
the wireless stereo is there since the tweeking.
settings->connections->bluetooth->devices. tap&hold 'jabra 250v' shows ' set as wireless stereo' still gray so not selectable. this i'm still trying to figure out.
what did I do with PHM-regeditor:
find 'jabra 250v'
it's a name under HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/device/xxxxxxxxx (xxxxx=hexnumber)
xxxxxxxxx/services/ had one service 0000111e-yyyyyyy and in there a name Handsfree
HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/services/ has multiple services, also the 0000111e-yyyyyyy. in there a link to a dll
HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/services/ also has the wireless stereo service 0000111B-yyyyyyy.
so I added this second service to the device key HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/device/xxxxxxxxx where my jabra was.
I attached the regkey, but be aware that it's bt-device specific and it just a step, not the solution yet.
trying on my jabra 250
same for me, set as wireless stereo is greyed out
Hello folks.
I discovered that the BA has BT 1.1 onboard. Now I do have some mobile devices that support BT 1.2. Bluetooth 1.2. seems to work a lot better and doesnt have that much interferance with wifi signals.
Now my questions is what if i try to upgrade my BT Radio? Is it possible to upgrade BT 1.1. to version 1.2? My current BT radio is version 1.15.00 but i dont know if its version 3500 or 3900. I have the latest Helmi'c BA WM5 rom installed.
I read this forum post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274425
Its all about the BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack. If I install this BA radio is it possible to communicate with BT 1.2 devices?
Greetings Mark
Bluetooth version is a hardware version, not software one, so it can not be upgraded, the 1.15 radio is for the GSM part of the phone, the bluetooth stack is the software that controls the bluetooth hardware, so you may try to change it
Thnx for your help.
The radio stack didnt work and is only working with WM03. Now i have 2 bluetooth icons in my connections menu. Bluetooth is luckly still working!
