I installed the new Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 on my PC and it broke the USB ActiveSync with our Exchange Server. I cam connected to the PC but the Exchange Server has a messages saying "Activesync encountered a problem on the server. Suppot Code: 85010001" I then unistalled the beta software and everything is back to normal. Anyone else have this problem?
i have both XPSP2 + IE7 and XP 64bit + IE7. they both works fine.

Hs anyone here successfully synced their WM6 himalaya with Windows Vista over bluetooth?
I am trying to sync my device with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 in Vista over bluetooth but whenever i try to click on "Connect Via Bluetooth" in ActiveSync found in my device i get following error on my device:
"Cannot communicate with the PC because of the following Remote Networking error (Error 608)
Please reconnect your device if problem persists, restart the device."
I have tried both the roms i.e. helmi_c & c_shehkar's rom but couldnt get to sync my device over bluetooth with Vista. Previously i had a WM5 rom on my device and it synced with Vista flawlessly over bluetooth.
Can anyone help me on this matter???
In the file After_You_Flash.txt you can read:
"Once the device comes to life after hard reset for the first time, goto Settings-->Connections-->USB to PC and check the advance network functionality.
If you dont do this the device shall refuse get conncted to PC via USB."

Himalaya WM 5.0 was syncing just fine via BT ActiveSync.
WM 6.0 is not (yet).
Sascha
I cant even sync it using my USB cradle eventhough i have tried what was written in after_you_flash.txt. I am using Vista and is WMDC 6.1 is installed on Vista which is supposed to work with WM6. The problem is when i connect it thru USB, Vista fails to install a proper driver for it.

All i wish is that our masters here somehow get this thing to work over bluetooth.. I wish them best of luck!!

There Might be a solution..Only if u have XP installed on 1 of the partition..u can search the drivers in that partition
i can sync just fine with bt over vista using wm6...just had to make a new outgoing serial port on the ppc.
Using microsoft stack on both devices.
Syncing BT with Vista and WMDC
Have a look at this link. Its for WM5 but I used it with WM6 successfully.

Good luck
conecting ppc (wm6) to vista via BT solution
A few months ago, I posted on some forums this solution of my own, that enables conection vista pc and wm6 ppc via BT:
OW TO CONNECT WMDC AND PPC ON VISTA
1.-run bt on your pc
2.-run bt on your ppc
3.-bond your pc and ppc via bt, that will require password on both devices
4.-once connected, your pc will show some services your ppc is offering: activesync, voice gateway, obex, etc. and will allow you to configure some of them. you can see that because under each configurable service there is a button named configure. your pc assings by default one specific com port to activesync service, that may vary depending on free com ports available on your pc. you can see the assigned port clicking on configuration button. on the new window, you can see COM PORT, and one number. For our purposes, let´s suppose it is COM5
5.-run wmdc software, modify connections and mark on "allow bluetooth connection", which is not marked by default. close wmdc.
6.-old activesync program allows to choice com port to connect to. wmdc does not. it must be set modifing windows vista registry. so, run regedit and look for the key HKLM\software\microsoft\windows ce services\serial port. this key has usually the value "bluetooth" (without quotes). well, modify it, delete bluetooth and write COM5. (or any other com port your pc has assigned to activesync). notice that we are modifing SERIAL PORT, that means wmdc uses this service to connect.
7.-close regedit and reboot pc in order to allow changes in the registry.
8.-run again bt on both devices.
9.- run "add new bluetooth devices" on your pc. it will show again your ppc and services it provides, including activesync. configure again activesync service, and check out com port is still the same as before. in this configuration window, you will notice you can modify the NAME of the service, that is "activesync" (without quotes). well, change it, and write Serial Port.
10.-run again wmdc and it will connect to your ppc
what have we done?
1.-activesync ppc service is connected to pc using COM5
2.-wmdc is using serial port on COM5
3.-we change the name of activesync ppc service to serial port service
4.-both running on com5.
I got my Kaiser yesterday. It works fine, but I can't get it to sync with my laptop running Vista. My old TyTn was fine, but I've deleted that partnership and now I can't get the Kaiser to sync.
It appears in Device Manager under Network Adapters as Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter #5 (I don't know what it thinks adapters 1-4 are).
Any ideas?
I'm using vista 64 bit and windows mobile device centre and have no problems synching via the supplied cable, haven't tried bluetooth yet though.
I assume you are not using Activesync but Windows Mobile Device Center? Also under Connections in the Settings menu you find the option USB to pc uncheck (or check) the option provided by this program to check if this will fix your problem...good luck...
Hi,
I'm having difficulties working with my windows mobile device via my home PC (work laptop is fine). I am able to sync with my phone fine through activesync to transfer contacts etc but I am unable to browse the device contents from my PC via activesync or via windows explorer.
The device does not show up in explorer and when I try to click "Explore" from the activesync interface nothing happens.
One odd thing which I think may be related is that whenever I plug in my phone over USB my PC things it is an internet gateway and it appears in my PC's network connections as "xd". Looking at the properties for this connection there is a single service listed:
MsNMsgr (192.168.0.2:10020) 36583 UDP
Host PC - Windows XP64 Professional
ActiveSync 4.5.0 build 5096
Device - HTC Kaiser
Hyperdragon3 ROM
Any help with this would be very much appreciated
Cheers
Stuart
I had ActiveSync working with XP and then I got a new computer with Vista so I had to get the Device Center. I tried plugging in the phone with the USB and syncing it and it says "sync complete!" but it hasn't transferred anything to the computer. I had Thunderbird and when it didn't sync with it I installed Outlook but it didn't sync with that either. I went to the settings and checked the box to sync just the Contacts, which is the only thing I want to sync. Anyone know why it isn't doing anything?
Have you got the latest device centre installed:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx
Also, have you got Vista SP1 installed?
Yes to both questions.
Is there any other software that will work? All I want to do is transfer my contacts from my old phone to the computer and then back onto my new phone.
Hey...I running Windows 7 Ultimate and i was getting a similar problem...Try Connecting it with Bluetooth that worked for me...i just figured that out..
Since I upgraded to Windows 7, I have been having a problem syncing my X1 with Windows Mobile Device Center over BT.
Everything works ok over USB first (Full sync), then I disconnect the cable.
Make BT "discoverable" on both computer and phone.
Open ActiveSync on the phone and choose "Connect via BT"
It says no device available and gives the option to pair with PC.
I do the pairing, both devices say pairing OK.
Then I choose "Connect via BT" again on the phone
The phone displays the usual:
1) Opening port
2) Connecting
3) Authenticated
In the end "Connected" is displayed as status.
With Win XP and ActiveSync 4.5 client that always meant - everything is OK, not so with Win 7.
On the PC:
Windows Mobile Device Center starts displaying "Connecting" (as soon as I press "Connect via Bluetooth" on the phone) and stays like that.
If I open "Bluetooth Devices" in my computer's BT settings and check the properties of "X1" I see that "Activesync" profile is checked.
What else can I do?
Additional info:
PC - Dell E6400 Win7 64bit
X1 ROM Agent_47 Valkyries 3.8.60TR
EDIT:
I got it working:
1) Deleted the relationship in ActiveSync (on X1) and WMDC (on the PC)
2) Deleted pairings form both devices in BT settings
3) Made the USB connection, got it syncing
4) Started the pairing in Activesync on the X1
5) Did not start the actual sync over BT instead restarted both PC and X1
6) After restart started Activesync on X1, it connected to PC and started syncing at last!
I'm still not sure that it will work tomorrow...
EDIT2:
Didn't even work after 5 minutes
Just disconnected and when trying to connect again... not working.
no problem for me on win 7
actually, when I had a problem with syncing over BT on Vista, I moved to Windows 7
You can try to completely remove Sync Center and WMDC or whatever could be removed, download installations from microsoft and try to reinstall. Don't forget to use windows update after reinstall. And remove all settings first, just for sure. Hope this will help you. It helped to me when my X1 suddenly stopped to syncing over BT on Vista.

Could you please post how long it takes on your system from:
Pressing "Connect via Bluetooth" on X1
to
"Connected" displayed in Windows Mobile Device Center?
That is if you start WMDC first and then start connection from X1.
On my system it sometimes takes a very long time and sometimes it's instant. Could be a problem with BT drivers on my Dell.

I've tried 4 times. 3 times it was exactly 30 seconds with unlocking X1, once it was even faster.
I have no problems with vendors BT drivers (ACER) and I had no problems with native Win 7 drivers right after fresh install.

It's a Dell laptop, so BT is integrated.
As for now it has been able to get connected most of the time.
But still is strange, with Win XP Activesync 4.5, when X1 said "Connected" after all the "opening port" etc messages - it really was connected at both ends, now I don't know what the X1 thinks it's "connected" with, cause the PC is still "Connecting"...
Have you reinstalled sync soft on you computer as I told you?
hey guys
i have the same problem buy on vista 32bit i was connecting just fine but now it connects on the x1 side while the WMDC doesn't connect giving me the error sign but the sync center is connected & i can browse my phone even install programs but no syncing i've tried EVERYTHING written in forums reinstalling programs on both sides, updating drivers, removing sd card, disabling firewall & antivirus ( i have norton suite) i don't know what to do???
