Voicemail "1" Key Gone - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could help me. I recently upgraded to the 2.25 CWS ROM on my Cingular 8125 had an issue where DirectPush wasn't working. I decided to erase my Exchange server settings and re-input them to determine if that was the problem.
It was.
Now, when I deleted my Exchange server settings the device said all my contacts, calendar, etc would remain on the device. In order to have a fresh PIM without having to hard reset my device, I just deleted pim.vol out of the root directory.
I re-synced all my Exchange data, DirectPush works fine now, but my voicemail button (pressing and holding 1 on the dial pad) no longer works. My speed dial list is gone too. I even tried to add voicemail to #1 but it wouldn't give me that option.
Is there a registry setting, or some way I can add that voicemail number so that if I press and hold "1" it will call my voicemail?
I tried editing the voicemail number in Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Services -> Voicemail and Text Messaging without avail.
Any help would be appreciated!

Same thing - Where's my voicemail?
I've noticed the same problem, but with Summiter's ROM (the Test2 one).
Normally, the network picks this up. I'm wondering if Cingular changed something. When I go to the Phone settings, and ask for voicemail settings, there's no number.
Is there any way this could be device related?
Bizarre...

VOIP on Kaiser with Broadvoice trunk

I configured my Kaiser 110 (ATT 8925) with Schap's 4.3 and its working very well.
Added my account settings for a broadvoice SIP trunk, and it registers sucessfully. When I receive a call, I can choose silence or text message dialog, and if I choose silence, then the dialog shows answer. If I choose answer, it disconnects the session instantly and the calling party gets a fast busy signal.
If I try to place a call, using a 7, 10, or 12 digit US dial string, the call ends instantly (cant place any outbound calls).
Any suggestions? I'm using WiFi, with a routeable address and no firewalls. I am about 150 miles off of the nearest cellular network, and VOIP will be the killer app to use on this device.

I have a Broadvoice account. What settings did you use to get the built-in VoIP software to work?
settings, connections, voip.
I used my typical account settings, and the fastest proxy by ping time.
My dial plan tab is blank however.
Hmmm, I do not have that settings applet. added the WM6 VoIP cab and then the config tool. Using the config tool, I was able to enter what I believe are correct settings.
The Today applet shows 'available'
I see now way to make a call.
If you tap the today applet it will change from available to selected. You can then make calls via VOIP.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Did you guys have success with this? I'm running L26_WM_6.1_PRO.V6a which has VoIP built in and uses Schap's Setup VoIP 0.3. When I dial out the phone immediately hangs up. Incoming calls go to voice mail if they are ignored. The caller gets a number not in service message if I try to answer and the phone stays connected for about a second before hanging up.
My settings are
Provider Name: sip.broadvoice.com
Registrar Address: sip.broadvoice.com Port: 5060 UDP
Proxy Address: proxy-nyc.broadvoice.com Port 5060 UDP
URI Address: sip[email protected]
I've also tweaked the registry to allow Port 5060.
HKLM\System\VoIP\SIP
EnablePort5060 = 1
It appears to be partially working though, there was mention in another thread about BroadVoice using the realm BroadWorks as mentioned at the bottom of the page. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950&page=77 I'm not sure if that is the issue or not since it is an older thread.
Has anyone else managed to get Broadvoice working and if so what CAB files and settings were you using?
Unfortunately, I have never had any success although others have reported having success. It would be nice if someone who has it working would be able to share the settings or even better, have a cab made with the settings within.
Thanks for the reply Jonno. I can get outbound calling to work using the application at Fring.com. You might want to give it a try. Unfortunately it doesn't have a feature for incoming calls.
I could use things like Fring and other applications... but it feels just wrong to be forced to use an application to perform a function that is essentially built into the OS. Having the dialer integrated would be just so much better.

contacts help on wing

i added my contacts from my sim manager to my contacts on my phone. and now it shows them 2 times. 1 for the sim, and 1 for the contacts. does anyone know how to fix this?? please help. thanks
I believe if you go into the start menu, go into settings, then phone, then call option, uncheck the "Show SIM contacts" box and you should be all set...
i dont have a call options menu. but i do apericate the try. the doubble contacts are drivin me nuts..
Um.. have to changed your OS vastly? Its a default phone option, weird that you dont have one under the phone settings. If your start menu isnt too changed should be start, button 8 for options, button 1 for phone, button 5 for call options under call forwarding above call waiting.
Unless your phone is locked I see no reason that menu would be on my s730 and not yours
The Wing or Wings?
im not sure.. i did what u said and my list is ..

Yes go here and ask. You have a T-Mobile Wing.

Hmm, I dont have a wing but I know some phones will put it under a contacts option, or under a sim card option. Beyond that I cant help any further aside from google searches
Contacts
Use the Sim manager, it will let you move delete and copy contacts both in the sim and contacts.

so you are saying you have went into the dialer, speed dial where it shows all your numbers stored in speed dial and tried to change it but wont let you? correct?
Or from the dialer screen Menu -> Options -> Click the Services tab in the Services tab choose Voice Mail and Text Messages the select Get Settings... buttons and you can change the voice mail number there.

PF Voicemail Help! Unknown phone number!!

I downloaded Phone Fusion Visual Voicemail app to my G1. Its an interactive application that displays a list of your voicemail messages which you can also organize via touchscreen, rather than having to call your voicemail number and listening to the automated operator and press buttons. As part of the registration process you must enter in your cell number (Its either your cell number or your voicemail number, I cant get it to work so I dont know for sure.)
Whenever I type in my number a notification pops up that says, "! Registration Failed. Unable to determine this devices phone number."
Now I went to my Settings/ About Phone/ Status/ My phone number...all that was listed under "my phone number" was "unknown". As of right now I dont see an option to edit this status. If anyone has any suggestions or a way to fix this dilemma so I can continue to have fun with my beloved G1 it would be greatly appreciated. Please Help!
The only real information ive heard was: "if your on "flexpay" forwarding is disabled therefore you cant use any of the visual voicemail apps on the market besides the app by t-mobile"
use the official tmo visual voicemail app. its better and it actually works. u just need to have the android data plan and ur good

Changing Voicemail number

I am on GiffGaff which is a virtual network of O2 in the U.K. As a result the dialer thinks my voicemail is 901 rather than 443. I wouldnt normally care but i have a persistant notification to check my voicemail. I am unable to change the voicemail number in the dialer for some reason as the setting is greyed out. Instead i found a voicemailconf.xml file under /system/etc, and there also one in /etc.
This is a lookup dictionary for all the networks and their voicemail numbers, ive tried editiing the O2 one to 443 in both files but after restarting it goes back to 901. Really annoying what am i doing wrong, now do i make this permantent?
Dialer - menu - settings - voicemail settings - voicemail number then edit and save
